As a physician and mom to a son with AUD, I want to thank you on both counts. People need to know first hand about the disastrous health issues that alcohol causes, and you do not sugar-coat anything. Your descriptions of your health issues are graphic and dead-on. It is a painful and exhausting life once your organs are failing. I wish everyone with AUD could hear these videos. My son credits much of his recent sobriety to you. Thank you again for being who you are……for helping others by “telling it like it is” when so often you feel sick and worn out. You are a true gem. Best of luck for an uncomplicated surgery and for a smooth recovery. ❤
I've got a lucky coin (5-pence from England) sent by a friend. I carry it in my fob pocket every day. On the 16th, it's on loan to you ❤❤❤ You got this! 💕🕊️🕊️🕊️
Yes, it’s very important to see the doctor, even if it’s just for a yearly physical! I always hated going, I didn’t have a true physical as an adult until I was about 25! Nowadays I see the importance of regular checkups, or just going to the Dr. when something doesn’t feel right! Wishing you all the best, LD! ❤
Good advice sir. Personally, I would rather know than not know so I can act on it. Uncertainty always causes stress. I decided to have a ultrasound of my liver at age 55 in 2017 due to concerns I had about my many years of consuming alcohol. The doctor told me that I had Fatty Liver. I decided to quit drinking alcohol at that time because I wanted to stop the damage to my organs. I was able to quit alcohol cold turkey. I was ready to quit and also because my life likely depended on it. I hope and pray your medical team can help you navigate through these times. You are a courageous man.
Thanks LD for this powerful informative video, much appreciated. I honestly thought you were about 27 years old! You don't look like you're in your 40's. I'm sending you positive thoughts and good vibrations for a safe trip to the hospital, and a completely successful surgery for all the issues. You are helping so many people get their lives back, and I'm sure you will contine to be a light in the world as a very old LD ❤
Prayers for you today and tomorrow that everything will go smoothly. My wife was like that didn’t like going to Dr and when she finally went in 2004 the dr said the only thing that saved her was that her cancer was slow moving.
God bless you! I pray you have very little pain! I’m also praying for your Mom! There is nothing worse than watching your child suffer, no matter how old they are! I’ve watched my son go through some serious health issues and it was so hard. My heart breaks for her as well.
Powerful message! I think it is the same for most of us. We don't want them to tell us to stop the obvious cause of our ailments! Thank you for your help & encouragement. 👊👊
You and my Ron...so much alike! You've been through so much, and it's a miracle that you have lived to tell about it. I pray that this procedure goes smoothly and with minimal pain. Love you deeply, LD, and wish you the mercy of God.
Thank you so much ronsmom! It's really unbelievable how much ron and I have in common. It blows my mind. I hope that this is the last surgery for a while..... but knowing my luck... there Will probably be something else this year. It's ok though. I'm willing to do what I have to, to be able to.be here for.my family and all of you guys! Thank you! God bless❤❤❤❤❤
I wish you the best during this next procedure! Hopefully they’ll get all of that taken care of and you get another long break from surgery! You deserve to have a great result and to continue your work here and to be there for your family. You’ve done a complete 180 from the man you were when you were drinking and the world needs you for a long time!
I guess I was pretty blessed. I started having panic disorder and anxiety, which intern made me quit everything eight years later still dealing with panic disorder and anxiety, but I have also been absolutely sober in that amount of time.
Hey Marcus. I'm really sorry to hear that. That must be horrible to go through. I have been close to a panic attack before. But I have never had one. And I was scared when it was happening! I can't imagine what that's like. I hope that you are well today my friend! God bless❤❤❤❤
@ it is very scary and especially when you’ve never had one you know once you start having them for a while they’re still scary but you realize in your mind hey this is what’s going on, but in the beginning like with an ocular migraine when all these lights start flashing in front of your eyes it’ll scare you like nobody’s business i’m not gonna say you ever really get used to it but after years of it happening, you start realizing hey I’m OK. It’s just this but thank you brother. The part that gets me is it’s not in my organs. It’s in my mind. I never in my life would have dreamed I would be going through any kind of mental anything, but it happened to me.
I took a flight across the country with a layover. Flight left at 10 am and I got through TSA at 8:30. Bars were already full, person next to me on the plane ordered a double Bloody Mary, and all the bars were packed at the layover and my final destination. I'm not judging anyone, but it's crazy to me how normal drinking is when it's the worst drug.
I love having an airport beer on vacation, Im in dry january and do another dry month every year too. Its all about trying to keep yourself in check and have extended times you dont drink
Hey matt. I know exactly what you are talking about. I was that guy whenever I flew too. As soon as they got the cart out, I ordered a double and then a layover? I stayed at the bar while I waited. Thank you for this. God bless😊😊
Wonderful advice and encouragement!! Going to the doctor is scary!! The next time I have to go to the doctor for anything that’s potentially a big deal, I’ll keep your calm voice in my head. Thank you!! Wishing you a smooth and successful procedure on Thursday!! You have tons of strength and bravery yourself, but I hope the prayers and love of this community buoy you up even more!!!! Sending my own prayers and love to you, LD!!! 😊🙏❤😊🙏❤😊🙏❤
Thank you so much Kathryn!!!! It's so important to do, although it's not something that anyone wants to. The thing about it is, we know, we know when something is wrong. Our bodies tell us and it's almost impossible to deny it when it's happening. I did it for so long. And I knew the whole time. I hope that this video helps push someone out there to just go, when they know. Thank you again for the prayers!!!! God bless ❤❤❤❤❤
I feel the same way about not wanting to go see the Doctor. I was ducking it to avoid hearing bad news about my health. It’s better to deal with the headache and having our pride crushed than to delay the inevitable later on. Feels bad.
Have a nice time catching up with your mother bro, and best of luck with the surgery. Hopefully this one puts a hold on things for time to come and you can enjoy your life without stressing over the next surgery! Much love bro. You and your family are in my prayers…
Hope you and you Mom have a safe trip on Wednesday, and I pray that you have the best outcome possible. Thanks for all you do! Love to you and everyone!
LD you should look at your scans so you can connect with your organs then you can picture them , love on them , connect with them, thank them , pray for them , rub them , respect them.. they’re part of you and they keep you alive ! People who love their bodies never want to poison it with substances
Hey LD - so nice to see you looking rested. Hahahaha good ole Dr Google! I’m guilty of doing research and self diagnosing myself. If I have something going on, I do hold off a bit to go to a dr to see if it resolves on its own but we know when it’s serious. There are a lot of doctors who will want to test for everything when it’s unnecessary. You just have to find the right doctor which is half the battle. I do not recommend procrastinating. At the very least, get your annual check up and all other recommended tests. Anyways, I’m hoping this procedure on Thursday is the last one for a long time. I know you’re a warrior but have been through the wringer with back to back procedures. I’ll keep my candle on for you and will continue to send you healing energy. You’re an amazing human my friend for all that you do.
Hey micru866!!!! Yep..... I'm guilty of dr. Google too!!! I have done it as well. But.... you bring up a very good point. We know when something is wrong..... we just know it. I was just telling kathryn that in her reply right before you and you brought that up as well. When our body is telling us we are sick... listen!!!! I hope you are doing well my friend and thank you for leaving the candle on for me! God bless❤❤❤❤❤
I work in an ICU and I’ve seen countless men and women around my age (20-40) die from alcohol related complications. For so many, it was their first time seeking treatment. They come in banana yellow, throwing up blood, then they pass within days or weeks. Not only do they find out they’re dying but they find out they waited too long to seek treatment and don’t qualify for a liver transplant. Experiencing these patients and your videos made me feel like I had traveled through time to the point where alcohol was killing me but was given a second chance, I could go back and make the changes and take care of myself. Please please please don’t run from seeking care. Any real medical professional will greet you with open arms and commend you for taking these first steps toward getting better. I just passed 250 days sober and I’m coming up on 37 weeks, that’s a full term baby! Love and prayers to you during your operation. God is watching over you! ❤
That's so awesome! I went to the E.R. four times in November and December for high blood pressure and dehydration from alcohol. Finally decided enough is enough and quit at midnight as my New Years resolution as I was starting to get jaundice in my hands and face and fingers and feet swelling up and was chronically dehydrated. Sticking with it so far. I will not drink with you today.
@@UnseemlyGenie00. I remember your comments from a couple months ago. You were in a bad place. I’m so happy you are doing so well in your sobriety. Congratulations and keep at it!!!! 😊
Congratulations on nearly 9 months of sobriety!! So apt to compare it to the length of time needed to gestate a baby, because what you’re doing by getting sober is gestating a whole new you!!! Best wishes on your sober journey!!!! 😊😊😊
I hope you see a doctor to determine what’s up. It’s like losing an engine in a small plane. The more altitude you have, the more places you can potentially make an emergency landing. Give yourself, figuratively, the chance to make a successful “emergency landing” from your health/alcohol problems by starting to deal with the problem right now rather than at 200 feet.
Please go see a Dr before it is too late my friend. I know it's scary and you don't want to know, but i promise you that it will be worth it in the long haul. Please keep me updated on what is going on with you. Thank you for sharing. God bless❤❤❤

GO SEE A DOCTOR!! My son-in-law wasted time doing so... YUP cancer, stage 4 inoperable esophageal cancer. He was a heavy Diet Coke drinker along with heavy cocktails in the evening with it. SAD SAD, he died January 5th. He leaves behind my daughter and 3 young children. Don't waste time. Do what's right for your family. Please.
I am very sorry for your family's tragic loss. May your son-in-law rest in peace. May his widow and children somehow recover from their loss. Thank you for telling his story to help warn others. 🙏🙏🙏
Hey carrie. I am so very sorry to hear about your son in law, may he rest in peace. That is so, so sad. Especially for his children. Thank you for sharing. God bless❤❤❤❤❤❤
I had three CT scans seven blood panels a scope down my throat. I also had ultrasounds and the list goes on to this day. I’ve never had a doctor or gastroenterologist. Tell me anything about anxiety or panic disorder or being low on magnesium them were all things I had to find out myself through research and listening to UA-cam videos.
@ brother you are very welcome. I hope you’re upcoming procedure goes very well. I would really love to see you make it past all of this and be 100% healthy again living life the way it should be lived.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have you ever spoken about why they didn't just go ahead and do a splenectomy? Plenty of people have them removed. I wanted to be a doctor when I was younger because I was into science and human biology. But alas, I am not that great at math. That's why I ended up a writer. I went one day to nursing school and quit. I probably should have stuck it out but it didn't feel right. I am still thinking of becoming a substance abuse counselor. You are right about listening to your body and trying to catch any problem early. Good luck on your procedure if I don't speak to you until I text you up.
Hey shades, Jersey girl here. What's a nurse for 20 years. Graduated when I was 32 years old. It's never too late to go back to school. Rooting for you and I am a subscriber to your channel❤❤❤
@@cheryldeanley2074 Well thank you, Jersey Girl. I am most likely going to become a counselor because it just seems like destiny is pushing me that way whether I like it or not.
Hey there shades! Thank you my friend! That's really cool that you wanted to be a dr one day, i never had any desire to be one. It's not for me, I can't look at gory stuff and blood is like my kryptonite!!!! I don't know why they just didn't remove it, i guess they didn't expect this to happen. I also have to have that aneurism they have to fix in my liver too. Thank you brother, and I'll talk to you soon! God bless❤❤❤❤❤❤
I drànk a liter of whiskey on Saturday after 32 days sober. Continued all weekend and today. Today I shit blood. Talk about not wanting to go to the doctor. I don't want to hear what they have to say. Bad place to be. Have had a pain in my lungs when I hiccup or breathe deeply for months. Scared to find out what it is. I joined the Marines. I should have backed out like you did. I got kicked out from drinking. You know how bad of an alcoholic you have to be to get kicked out of the Marines? A bad one
I hope you will go to the doctor or ER if necessary to get checked out. I hope you can brush yourself off and resume your sober journey. You were sober for a long time already!! More than a month!!! Don’t be discouraged!! You can do this!! 🙏👍😊
Please, please, get help. It’s not too late for you. I drank for decades. I’m here, doing pretty good. Do NOT be embarrassed or afraid of anything. Save yourself, you ARE worth it. Those days u had sober are STILL sober days, they add up. I will be praying for you. No shame. Just think about yourself right now, do what u must do. One way or the other, you WILL be seeing a doctor. Make it a preemptive strike. ❤ on second thought, make it the ER
Hey wild Idaho. Thank you for sharing, I'm so sorry to hear that. Congratulations on making it to 32 days!!!! I never got that far on my own, so you are doing great! Please go to the er and find out what's wrong. It could be something very serious. Keep me posted on how you are doing my friend please. You got that far, you can do it again, i know you can!!! God bless 😊❤❤❤❤ Ps... I'm praying for you, i hope all is ok.
I think that’s a good idea not to look at the scans too many, you can’t actually interpret them but being a professional, so there’s not point really. Too much chance the mind would make its own ideas up.
Conscious thought can’t control your actions no matter how much I think don’t drink the mind turns, makes you wonder of human conscious control in general.

That's a lot marcus. I'm happy to hear that you have been trying to figure out what's going on with you. Thank u for sharing! God bless ❤❤❤❤
@ brother you are very welcome. I hope you’re upcoming procedure goes very well. I would really love to see you make it past all of this and be 100% healthy again living life the way it should be lived.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Good luck with the procedure dude .
Stay positive for 2025 👍🏼
Thank you dave!!! God bless😊😊❤
You would have been a great marine.
😊😊😊 thank you peter!! God bless❤❤❤❤
Even cooked vegan food hurt me.
@liverdisease-qb6rk I will be watching and in touch.
Unless you’re a radiologist, you wouldn’t be able to interpret the scans anyhow. Good luck with your procedure. ❤️🇨🇦
Exactly! Thank you lois! I greatly appreciate it! God bless❤❤❤❤❤
I know exactly what is going on.
That's good gary. I know that you keep up on going to tell dr. God bless😊
how high was your blood pressure at it's worst point?
Hey Jay, I don't remember the exact number, but it was like 200 over 160 or something. It was bad! Thank you for watching! God bless ❤❤❤❤
A bad one
I hope you are ok. Day one anxiety after a long day of drinking is hard but I hope you are ok and get better.
You really should make it the ER. It is that serious. They will help u immediately..
God bless 😊❤❤❤❤
Ps... I'm praying for you, i hope all is ok.
I think that’s a good idea not to look at the scans too many, you can’t actually interpret them but being a professional, so there’s not point really. Too much chance the mind would make its own ideas up.
Exactly aeoniik!!!! I am definitely NOT a professional!!! Thank you! God bless❤❤❤❤
First 😂
❤❤❤❤❤ awesome!!!😊😊😊
Conscious thought can’t control your actions no matter how much I think don’t drink the mind turns, makes you wonder of human conscious control in general.
