MORE!! I love hearing and seeing how you use the AI Studio Live for recording. Would love to see you do an extended set up, recording, mix down video.... start at prerecording decisions through final mastering of a song... Thx.

0:30 How are you getting 96 Khz sample rates? I have this exact mixer in my
home studio and it can only do 44.1 Khz or 48 Khz. It also states this
on the Tech Specs listed on your website. If I am missing something,
please let me know. I would like to record at 96 Khz!

Awesome!!! I have a original 16.4.2 in my studio and couldn't be more pleased! Could you elaborate on using the aux's for studio playback monitoring??? The only monitor recording playback I'm offered is the 2 Track output which I have coming back to the mixer. I've tried using the firewire buttons on each channel to create aux monitoring, but the sound only comes through one side of the headphones? I'm sure this is an easy fix, however I haven't figured it out. Thanks!

How can i connect headphones in a recording studio to the 32.4.2 console. Do i use one of the 14 aux direct to the headphone amp? Lets say i want to have 8 Headphones. How do i connect to manage them all separate?

are you gus ok recording that lot of condenser mics at once in the studio? i mean, edit must be really difficult.

OK, you can call me crazy if you want, but I have a question: can I use this board in a hybrid fashion? As an experiment, I want to use this board to track onto a 24 track 2" tape machine to get the performance onto tape. Once that is done, then I want to use the board with no outboard gear to see what it can do on it's own, playing the tracks from the tape machine into this board and mix down old school as much as I have to, but using any kind of preset recalls is fair game, because it is a board feature. Is this doable? And I know, all the analog purists probably just threw up a lil in their mouth, but here's how I see it: sure, there are a lot of "sounds just like tape" plug ins, but I have also seen guys do "snake oil" videos on these plugins, comparing real tape recordings with the plug ins, and I'm pretty much convinced that if you want that recorded to tape sound, why not just bite the bullet and use the real deal? I've also heard side by side comparisons of the same performance captured digitally as well as onto tape, and also with the digital performance transferred to tape then back to digital, to see if you can take a digital performance, put it onto tape, and have the end result sound just like it was recorded onto tape in the first place, and it didn't work/ or should I say, it didn't sound as good as recording directly to tape, then transferring that to the digital domain. So I'm not against digital, but I am convinced that nothing in the $2350 range beats being able to track 24 tracks directly to 2" tape simultaneously in regards to sound musicality (digital may be more accurate, but not more musical). As an example, a 192 (not mobile) costs 900 bucks (rounding), and for me to get 24 xlr ins, I'd have to have 3 of them. That's 2700, and I don't even have a fader I can touch (or even the right computer to plug them into, for that matter), plus I don't know how much you have to know and time it would take to force it to sound like tape. If I record to tape, there is no question about it sounding like tape, because it is tape. Anyway, the plan is to get that tape sound by actually recording to tape via using the 32.4.2 AI pre's when applicable, then use your board to mix down (IMO, biggest bang for the buck because of what the fat channel provides). Maybe someone has already done this, but I could not find any videos exampling this in action. Thanks for reading, and for any response you provide. Hey, have a great day!

Yeah, I agree Presonus makes some great mixers but still no USB 3.0 interface. No good for PC users. You'd have to build a custom computer to use this desk with Windows. I can't believe that they still don't get it. I'm still on an X32 for that reason. Come on Presonus, make a darn USB interface card already!

Hey PreSonus thanks for the reply. The 192 is only an interface. I need a mixing desk with USB 3.0 interface. We mix and record live music performances for broadcast on television. We are on the PC platform. Most all new computers and laptops DO NOT have firewire anymore. You need to make an I/O card for the StudioLive mixers that will enable recording 32 tracks over USB. We are currently doing this with an X32 console. We would rather use your gear because it is way better. We love PreSonus :)

+VMXGroove by a cheap pci firewire adapter. If you have a slot open on your motherboard it cost no more than $30. They're all over amazon.

Hey MrSuperpat thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, my crew all work off of their laptops when we mix in the field. We can't drag a custom built PC around. We also can't rely on just one PC. We record concerts for live television. Its a zero fail operation. My X32 desks work on a variety of laptops and require no modifications. They just work. I really feel that Presonus could achieve the same flexibility that Behringer does. They just don't want to for some reason. Or perhaps they can't. Not really sure why.
