I've been using the Studiolive series since the first one came out in 2009. Great mixers. I use one weekly at my church and the school I work at. Both first generations. I've also installed 5 of them, up to the newest gen, at other churches. Super solid mixers that are easy to learn and train, sound great, and are really affordable.
I like them also aside of that tiny screen and some times the fire wire connection causes lock up while using universal control. Universal control makes it much easier to get to your dynamics because you have it all on the pc screen and you can see it much better in an analog format to boot. the first time it locked up on my was in a the middle of a live performance. Everything just shut down. lol I instantly grabbed the fire wire cable and yanked it out of the console and instantly we were back. Obviously it through the band off and they had to restart the song. It did it to me another time in a club but before the band started.

Thanks for the info. I'm looking at upgrading my old Presonus Studio Live 16.4.2. A feature I can't live without is the ability to play back a sequence in my DAW, of various virtual and real instruments, into the 16.4.2, then assign those to a stereo sub out, and simultaneously record to a track in the same sequence, to achieve a mix recording. I am hoping this is possible with the 32SC? Can you confirm it can be done? On the 16.4.2, I simply link 2 sub outs, which creates a stereo left and right, then assign my DAW's incoming tracks, that I want to mix, to that sub group. I create a stereo track on the DAW sequence, that will get it's input from the 16.4.2 on 17 & 18, which is the sub 1 and 2 on the board. Hope you'll see this and reply...thanks again.
As one that use this feature on the series 3, I can confirm that you can route your daws main output, or indivdual tracks to multiple faders if you want.

Can this mixer sync with your Studio One 5 Pro DAW and control it from there, vice versa? Or do you HAVE to use the other software for the remote controlling portion? Also, do you need a Dante card for multi track recording?
It’s plug and go. You set it as the main audio interface, put it into DAW mode and the motorized faders control the faders in Studio One and vice verse. All the software needed comes with it. I mixed 100% with this OTB and only used the mouse to save and export the song. Never have to mix ITB again. All the buttons on the mixer control everything in Studio One. It works with Cubase but the faders won’t control the faders in the program. At least I couldn’t make it work. 5:18 "FAT channel", as far as I am aware, is the way that they describe a mixer channel being equivalent to a huge console which has a huge array of adjustment knobs and sliders. It's a euphemism. Because of all the knobs, the channel has to be "fat" (wide) to accommodate everything. But with Presonus it's more than that, the "FAT channel" (probably a trade mark) is a product name that specifically means it can run dedicated insert FX plugin software/firmware directly on the mixing hardware itself - and then they make an exact copy of the same effect plugins which are components of their "FAT channel" vst (and native to Studio ONE) plugin. Hopefully this SL32R remain solid but we've had nothing but issues with our StudioLive 32 at our church. Input suddenly does not work after power-up. Could you please explain again how you can have 16 mixes when you only have 10 physical outputs in the back of the mixer? How do you get the additional 6? Thank you. P.S. Great video by the way.
@@p.m-audio Your response unfortunately does not answer my question. The 6 XLRs and 4 Jacks equal to 10 out. How do you get 16 mixes when you only have 10 physical outs on the mixer. Do you have to use a stage box to do that?
Emmanuel Francis, seems the answer to your question is yes, you need the stageboxes to achieve the full input and output capabilities of the mixer. I pulled this from their website: The scalable digital mixer. The StudioLive 32SC digital mixer and the complete PreSonus® StudioLive Series III ecosystem of AVB networking products allow you to create a system that is truly customized for your needs. Connect NSB-series stage boxes to add remote analog inputs and outputs wherever they’re required and complete your 32-channel, 16-bus StudioLive 32SC.
I don't understand what this has to do with churches. Can I use this thing when I'm doing a live set in an acid infested rave in front of a thousand maniacs ?
Too many regrettable limitations in this Presonus mixer that become obvious the long you use it. Too many weird glitches even in the latest firmware that kill reliability in live sound and introduce noise into the audio.
I'm hoping this works better than the StudioLive 32. My church has owned a Presonus StudioLive since they were first introduced. We have NEVER been able to get ANY effects to work. There is something we are missing. I have followed the confusion owner's manual and still cannot get an effect to work. We are very disappointed with this product and have found the very availability of BASIC settings VERY lacking. We will not be buying anymore products from Prosonus and will never recommend them to any other church. Great hardware. Poor interface. Worse documentation.
It's sounds like a Audio guy problem man, so sorry for it, This mixers could be the best in the market in its price range, de 64s it's justo amazing, I own one personally...

Thank you!
Does this desk have any auto mixing abilities? How about ducking?
Can anyone tell me the difference between Studiolive 16 and the 32SC? Also what is difference between the Studiolive 32, 32S, 32XS? I see on their website that they all are still current at the same time. Its so confusing to know which one to get!!!
Look at the size + amount of faders (extra on the right) and the extra LCD screens on the FAT-channel.
Hi there, can you someone give me more information about playback possibilities on the studiolive32SC mix console?
Can I play regular WAV/MP3 files from SD card (which I do not record thru the console)? Can I choose options like: repeat all, repeat one, play one (play one and stay paused before the next)
Isit can be used for mixing and mastering in studio's or only for live concert's and jamming??
Where are you located? If you're in florida, I would pay you to come set up my home studio.
Can I connect 2 consoles to the same stagebox? I want to handle the audio I receive from the stagebox differently.
Thank you :)
Could you please explain again how you can have 16 mixes when you only have 10 physical outputs in the back of the mixer? How do you get the additional 6? Thank you. P.S. Great video by the way.
6 are in Xlr, and 4 are jack Outputs
@@p.m-audio Your response unfortunately does not answer my question. The 6 XLRs and 4 Jacks equal to 10 out. How do you get 16 mixes when you only have 10 physical outs on the mixer. Do you have to use a stage box to do that?
Emmanuel Francis, seems the answer to your question is yes, you need the stageboxes to achieve the full input and output capabilities of the mixer. I pulled this from their website:
The scalable digital mixer.
So, you guys are no longer using the Audio Fusion System Performer for monitors?
Does it integrate with Reaper?
hello, can i use this mixer using Reaper Daw?
How many pages are there on the User layer? Is it just the one page or can you hit Next to go to a second page?

can wave plug ins work on presonus studio live series 3 mixer?
can you use the mixer by itself without connecting it to the laptop?
yes you can
Do you still recommend this mixer? Or you should I go with Midas
go Midas
Does the DAW mode support Ableton?
This is great!!!! Thank you
I don't understand what this has to do with churches. Can I use this thing when I'm doing a live set in an acid infested rave in front of a thousand maniacs ?
Is this mixer truly 32 channels?
Thank you for saying "buTTon" and not "bu-in". Praise God!
You can not add fx to the console, only Eq’s and comps
excellent
What do the file look like once they are recorded, Is it a poly wave? , Are they separate folders, Or are they all in one folder?
This is useful, but you need some timestamps going on here
Are those mixes stereo? Please, I need to know!!!!
The Flex Mix outputs 1-16 are mono. They can be controlled in pairs like a stereo output - so 16 mono outputs or 8 stereo outputs or any combination.
for someone who has no idea how it works
Too many regrettable limitations in this Presonus mixer that become obvious the long you use it. Too many weird glitches even in the latest firmware that kill reliability in live sound and introduce noise into the audio.
Are you still using this mixer for your church or did you switch back to the m32?
pretty sure they never switched
please reply to question below
The only way you can help others on a mixer is explain the routings. The rest are very simple. 30mins video with no routing explanation.
dude calling the encoders faders had me bugg'n lol
