      Denver hasn't really been defensively challenged against a team with great offensive half court set the whole playoffs.
      Lakers, Wolves, and Suns are all playing ISO ball or Dribble Drive offense for the most part. It's all been Denver's size that stop those offenses and not because of their rotations.

Being a raptors fan I’ve gotten a taste of the undrafted/ building a team through the draft or through proper scouting but man Props to the Heat to taking it to a level we’ve never seen. Pat Riley and Spo are both legends of the game.. but getting Butler and surrounding him with a bunch of killers hungry to make it in the league has been a joy to watch. Guys like Strus, Vincent, Martin, and Robinson are reallyshowing up a lot of these other NBA players that are on lucrative contracts and have just settled.. they just ain’t hungry. Great analysis. Spo starting Love and having him on Gordon so that Jimmy could guard Murray while Bam was on Jokic was a huge adjustment that really helped them win this game. Jimmy obviously isn't 100% but he made timely buckets, facilitated, and played great defense while Bam has done an amazing job picking up the slack and has been solid on both ends of the floor. Their biggest issue right now is the non-Bam minutes as Zeller has been terrible. If they can solve that i think they have a decent shot at winning but either way i think it'll be a great series.

    I wonder if Spoelstra decided to go back to the last time the Nuggets lost a Playoff series - last year vs the Warriors. A lot of the same offensive and defensive concepts that Steve Kerr used on the Nuggets were put to use by the Heat in Game 2. Stuff from the "Death Lineup" that the Warriors employed last year were run by the Heat with their small lineup, and Spoelstra turning to Kevin Love is much like when Kerr would go to Kevon Looney when rebounding and size is needed. Even the way Bam was used Offensively is like Draymond Green in just running the play from the big.
    The question will be will the Nuggets have a answer for these adjustments, as some of the issues from last year have reared their head in these Finals.

    I cannot express how much I appreciate the Miami Heat simply because of the dynamics. I am now a major Miami Heat fan coming from being a Dallas Mavericks fan. After the antics from Dallas and the horrible coaching of Jason Kidd, this is refreshing to see a real team playing real basketball. The Miami Heat are by far the best team in the NBA and the most underrated. These guys are a true gift to be able to witness.

    it would behoove denver to stay home as best as they possibly can and turn jimmy/bam into volume scorers. too many times a 3rd defender rotates over and miami skips it and makes an extra pass to a relatively open shooter. denver’s X Outs weren’t great.
    to be fair miami runs tons of good action and has these unheralded guys straight up initiate offense but on the plays butler drives id rather have him beat me making tough 2s then as a passer.
    if you can lessen their 3p volume by “turning butler into a scorer” the way miami has with jokic so to speak, i think denver will be in great shape.

    This is what I am pointing about. Putting another big body dissolves the idea of having gordon size advantage after a switch. Also note. Zone defense was big. It took away the 1-2 punch combo from jokic and jamal.. and lastly . All miami need to do is hit those 3s and this will be in the bag.. now it is time for denver to do the adjustment.

      @@21Kolb jokic is unstoppable thats given.. murray can still do better.. role players should step up. To beat the zone they need to pass the ball faster than the defense can establish. Means if they continue to switch they need to move off ball faster and cut to the rim harder. Lastly make those open shot shot.

    • @Blindfaithpodcast
      @Blindfaithpodcast Рік тому

      @@21Kolb it’s hard to hide your lead guard and big on Defense , when you don’t other elite defenders who can switched and recovers. Plus, Miami is an excellent half court offensive Team. They will hunched the weak defender. Another Factor, not being talk about. The way Bam sets Screns he takes the defenders out of the tips, giving Miami plenty space and time to get quality shots.

    i think that denver played a really really bad 4th quarter and still almost push it to OT. They made some really dumb fouls. As miami after the first game, denver shouldn't feel bad about this one. The Nuggets are better but the Heat is one of the toughest team i've seen in a long time. This is a wonderful series to watch. Hopefully Nuggets will win, but, if the Heat ends up with the trophy, they absolutely deserve it. Much respect for both teams

    Hi, Ben. Great video as always. But don't you think that Denver just screwed too many switches and coverages? I counted at least 7 made threes (out of 17) where Miami got an open shot just because the Nuggets got it wrong. Also, in principle, I think Denver was wrong in trying to aggressively take away the paint when the Heat is not especially effective inside. To sum up, looks like Denver mistakes made too easy for Miami in this game.

    No doubt Miami made a good adjustment, but I think it was more mental errors for Denver than what Miami did with KLove and that adjustment. Yes Miami causes other teams to make mistakes, but there was no effort for a lot of Nuggets players. KCP, the veteran leader of the team fouled three 3-point shooters, Jeff Green didn’t box out Lowry at all on a FT which then led to another 3pt by Duncan. Jimmy stepped out on a 3pt score, and goaltending should have been called on Bam. All credit to Miami for winning, you take any win you can get, BUT that was Denver’s worst game defensively, aside from a scoring run in the 2nd, their offense wasn’t clicking, and Murray barely misses a 3 to force OT. ALL OF THAT and they only lose by 3…that’s kinda crazy.

  • @sirf4ce
    @sirf4ce Рік тому

    The Heat have 7 guys who can really REALLY GO! Bam and Jimmy are monsters. Their playmaking ability, IQ, athleticism, and unselfishness make them so dangerous! Strus, Duncan, and Gabe are flamethrowers and can get hot faster than OG NBA JAM Reggie Miller. Caleb Martin had an illness in game 2 but he's proven himself quite capable in these playoffs. And let's not forget Kyle Lowry who gives them solid minutes off the bench but can play a bigger role if needed.
