Exactly. Denver is prone to collapses when Jokic is out while Miami do need another reliable scorer (hopefully Herro is back soon). It will be the age old offense vs defense theme.

They are the best Teams in the playoffs, not because of the players they have but the way they play. I have to root for Denver because I love the way they have constructed the team. Jokic is such an unlikely Superstar. He plays unselfishly and his teammates love him for that. Unlike Butler who is generally a team cancer. Didn't he sleep with Karl Anthony Towns gf when he was in Minnesota? That's the kind of behavior I really have 0 respect for.

This defensive scheme to force Boston away from getting into the paint is really killing the Celtics hard, who get their best looks when they are able to initiate multiple drive and kicks on a possession. Jimmy's ability to track passing lanes is also incredibly broken. I do wonder what Spo is going to do if they play Denver tho. They've switched up defensive schemes drastically between series but Denver's offense is incredibly hard for Miami to game plan against simply because of playstyle and available personnel. But hey, it's Spo. He's gonna cook up some crazy shit and it might just work.

they’ll probably run something similar to what golden state did last season since they are pretty similar in terms of size. but the reason the warriors survived either just draymond or looney on jokic was because they didn’t have a guard that could drop 30 on your heads in jamal murray. i’m sure bam will make jokic work but i’m not sure how well they can contain the rest of the roster. miami is a tough, gritty team and they really push themselves on defense, but the lakers are pretty close to that level too, and have a more capable shot blocker in ad, yet they are getting pummeled by jokic. i’ll give denver the edge for now because it’s definitely easier RELATIVELY to stop a power forward than a center lol

If the Heat wins the championship, they will be the most impressive and the most successful NBA team to win it all. Here are the factors:
    -They heavily underachived this season
-They were a play in team that almost didn't make it and lost to the Hawks
    -There's literally NO SUPERSTARS
    -No superteam
-Kevin Love and Kyle Lowry are NOT top 75 greatest players of all time or anyone in the roster
-The Heat are in a much tougher division in the East
-Their 3rd best player in Tyler Herro got injured
-Destroyed the Bucks that had an MVP, defensive player of the year, 6th man of the year and coach of the year candidate plus an all NBA and defensive team selection players
-Beaten the favorites to win it all in multiple years with the Celtics
-Sweep or win 5 or 6 games against the Celtics/Nuggets without going to a game 7
-Beaten 3 top 5 MVP candidates in Giannis, Jokic and Tatum
-Beaten a dominant center that almost averaged a triple double and who is the more deserving 3rd MVP winner in Jokic
    - Beaten a masterlcass in Murray and a complete team chemistry in the Nuggets that has a solid coach
-And because of 3 unknown killers in Max Struss, Gabe Vincent and Caleb Martin (WHO? For real though)

Hey, I wanted to ask about the possession at 5:20. I would argue that there was no open man. I think what Robinson is doing in that play is teasing the pass. You stay just off enough that the opponent appears to be left open but because you're anticipating the pass, you have a quick first step and you're able to go directly to the ball to attempt to steal. I used to do this whenever I had to play zone. I would try to manipulate passes so I could snag steals.

If the Celtics players do not move and if the ball handler is not assessing the movement to find the open man then its over. Go to 4:53, Tatum has the ball and is looking for who to pass. Smart is all the way at the corner STANDING. What wouldve happened if he cuts to the basket at full speed. Tatum gets him on a clean look. If they swarm Smart he could kick it back out to Brogdon for a wide open 3. 5:25, Smart takes too long to pass it to Horford and instead passes it to Robinson because that pass didnt seem targeted at Brodgon. It literally feels as if they are getting paid to lose. Ive seen too much basketball and HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS.

I think Jokic is gunna eat that Zone alive. I feel like Butler is just as good as Jokic right now but how do you coach against Jokic’s size? some things you just cant prepare for

I'm concerned for how the Heat defend Denver, I think Nikola Jokic and their constant movement is going to be the kryptonite to Miami's organized chaos on defense

I like your video but most of the clip doesn't show chess plays, it shows an NBA team doesn't know how to beat a zone defense and players that doesn't make the right read and driving into traffic all the times and getting strip. If that is chess then I guess Miami is playing chess. Don't get me wrong, they are a great defensive team, but no where near the talent Boston have, if Boston is not beating Boston the Heat are not beating Boston. First two games Celtics beat themselves, game 3 was a Celtics team that was partying the night before and came back uninterested. Great video though, keep up the good work.

Give Miami credit but the Celtics made it so easy . They have 34 year old rookie coach and he is out of his depth .
Not sure if Miami will beat Denver but they earned a spot in the finals

Boston players don't move at all without a basketball...it leads to trees on the court that makes them easy tk defend. GSW dominated the league with their hard cuts off the ball and off ball screens

Jimmy not lengthy? He towers over Anthony Edwards and clearly taller than 6’ 6” Grant Williams. He’s a legit 6’8.

    • @HoopVenue
      @HoopVenue  Рік тому +2

Lengthy in terms of wingspan and the ability eat up space, has a 6’8 wingspan at 6’7 whereas most defensive forwards are closer to 7’0.
