Great job by the IC. I liked how is used all the firefighters that arrived were used. The periodic updates to dispatch were great and had an incident channel. He also kept track of where the firefighters were. As a volunteer fire officer ii, we have a few of these incidents, with plenty of officers superior to me. If I am an IC and I hope I do just as well.
For the first time I’m about to be impressed by americans firefighters. Good leadership and not overcrowded. The guys seems to know what to do and don’t move around like turtles. Two differences from where I worked( retiered) here in Norway and you. We always have to divers almost masked up on arrival, just hook on the mask to the helmet, and a primary hose on a reel just to chatch and run when the 360 is finished and a plan of action is established. Good work guys.
As a Chief Officer I appreciate this company officer, is willingness to lead and his ability to command. Every officer should be trained to run the fire ground as if they are the interior officer or the incident commander, we saw a little bit of both here. Great job.
This has to be one of the very few fires I've seen on YT from the first arriving unit POV, an engine in this incident. The actual plan of attack began prior to arrival by the entire crew. On arrival and dismount everyone knew their assigned task and executed it flawlessly. During this time the officer initiated ICS, assumed command, performed a 360 size-up, advised incoming units of what I have, what I need and what I'm doing all the while communicating to his crew any changes in the POA. All arriving units staged/ parked in a manner that did not block the street, allowing apparatus to reposition if necessary. Each crew contacted the IC and received a sitrep and assignment. All of this performed in a professional, calm and text book fashion. This shoots a hole in those who always claim there is no time to perform a 360 or other necessary task. In emergency medicine, when you are clueless on what to do, the term one used in marching band is "marking time" along with the time honored fire scene favorite "freelancing." When you are well trained, and a competent leader, you set the tempo on how things will most likely go as per the established plan. I retired from the 9th busiest fire/rescue department in the US, and rarely witnessed this level of competence on the incident scene. I am impressed, and you have restored my faith that incidents can be managed professionally without the tired and often seen failure of command comprised of, "when in danger and in doubt, run around and scream and shout." I only have one question: does the engine not have a TIC, like the ladder crew?
It's textbook and pretty amazing when you realize their department minimum staffing is probably 4. 3 people exited the engine (including command) and one from the squad. Everything else showed up from a neighboring agency (2nd engine was Oakwood Village, OH, next group of 4 was Bedford, OH, then Maple Heights, OH sent to the roof, and at the 15min mark a Solon, OH company of 4.) Most of those suburbs on the East side of Cleveland are understaffed. Interesting thought, maybe you have to become really competent and use ICS effectively if you're constantly partnering with your neighboring agencies?
Awsome job by the BHFD whoever they are, got water on the fire very quickly by getting out of the truck ready to tackle the fire. My hat is off to you.
great video - only criticism would be the placement of that ambulance / utility unit behind the 1st due engine in the event they needed a ladder in there
As a Paramedic I was gonna say that, great job by the fire crew but I would never park my ambulance that close, if you open the door and the patient compartment fills with smoke it's not gonna be very helpful if you have any patients with smoke inhalation.
As a newly retired Captain this fella remained calm and confident..gave great information to responding units. Backed up his firefighter and made sure he was able to get back outside and run the scene. Back and forth looking for extension and smoke change. I was glad that PPV fan cranked..it is so overlooked when checking the apparatus. Got ladders up enough people on the inside.. I think that fan pushed the fire a little

Hey all…. So an appreciate all the comments and questions. I’m going to post a video soon introducing myself and our department and answer a lot of the questions that have been asked. Stay tuned….
As for the caller, make sure you have a few fire extinguishers available and if the dryer is smoking, unplug it. My stove shorted out one day and lit up the control panel like the 4th of July. I pulled it out and unplugged it. Fortunately there was no fire but it could very easily have gone that route. Be prepared for anything. Glad you made it out okay and the fire crews knew what they were doing.
Great work for sure as a fireman, though I would say with Radio telling you that the laundry room was on fire. We’d have Scott packs on in the rig, not sure why you’re getting dressed with information at the scene.
Just two videos but great channel so far. Learning alot from just this small amount of content. Appreciate how seriously you take the profession. Keep it coming. Also, where are you guys located?
I'm a former volunteer firefighter 30 years experience and the only thing I saw wrong in this is somebody was on the wrong channel but that always sometimes happens it was a job well done by everybody!
Great Knock! One thing I noticed is some of the guys have their coat tails caught/ pinned up in the pack / harness. Just be good to address that and make sure guys are checking each other before entry. Not picking just offering a safety tip. Stay safe guys.
Former Fire Chief. My only big concern was that no one made a move to cut the power at the meter ASAP. On our department, that happened on the 1st walk around. Power co. would always be on their way as well to do a full disconnect at the pole. Other wise great job!
This was a really great job, Captain did incredible in his size up as well as command and control. I was wondering if there was a guy getting accountability though as crews were going in
I liked the 360 that was done and nobody was screaming their heads off at each other like some dept chief officers do for no reason, only thing I would have done different was hold off on opening that front door until everyone was ready to go in and you had water at the nozzle just due to the fact by opening the front door like that you have created an air path on the fire
Why do people wait to be asked about the fire? We had 1 fire at our house. My wife let me know the oven was on fire (reheating pizza I got at work). I grabbed the 10 pound fire extinguisher & fought the fire while my wife called the fire department. After the fire was out my wife started opening windows. I met fire fighters at the curb when they arrived. I was outside with a flashlight to flag them down. I told them the fire was out on arrival. No extension. Propane was off. Stove was pulled away from the wall. I needed a fan to power ventilate the house. They made an initial check & they cancelled the fire call. Later I found out which fire department showed up at our house. I brought pizza for dinner the next night they were on. I bought from the place they buy their pizza from. I bought 6 pies of the varieties they like. Once the pizza place knew where they were going to. They threw in an extra pie for free.
Fire crews will also open windows and or cut a hole in the attic during a fire event to get smoke and heat out of the upper floor like an attic space. After the fire The fan can be used as positive and negative ventilation, which means pointing the fan towards the door into the house blowing the smoke out to clear up the smoke and hazardous particulates in the air, it can also set pointing towards the street to pull the smoke out. Both ways clears the house out so crews can do overhaul looking for any hotspots and also so the Fire Investigators can do their job. When the fan is pointed inwards it will push the smoke and heat out of the hole in the roof much quicker.
A ventilátor indítása előtt nem láttam, hogy a felső szinten nyílást vágtak volna a füstnek. A túlnyomás így nem segít a füsteltávolításban. Emiatt már halt meg olyan személy, aki még menthető lett volna.

Thank you to all the brave men and women out there keeping our United States safe. God bless America! 🇺🇸🎖️
Love how calm he is when talking to others!
Great work and command/ leadership. Surprised no Chief officer showed up to support the Lieutenant!?
Great work for sure as a fireman, though I would say with Radio telling you that the laundry room was on fire. We’d have Scott packs on in the rig, not sure why you’re getting dressed with information at the scene.
Just two videos but great channel so far. Learning alot from just this small amount of content.
Appreciate how seriously you take the profession. Keep it coming.
Also, where are you guys located?
Excellent film!
Great 👍 Job Brother's and Sister's You did an outstanding great job 👏!!!!!!
That is a good officer. Nice calm demeanor, great size up.
Bread & butter fire handled very well by all involved - Great Job!!!
Good work brothers I'm a vol firefighter in Arkansas stay safe
Where the smoke goes ,
The fire will follow. 16:20
Job well done guys amazing work
Excellent video
Really enjoyed the post fire video of the interior
Good team work no messing about hose out and tackling the fire very good work by this brigade
God Bless these FF they went into the fire so cool calm and collective I have so much respect for you firefighters
Great job. Had my wife and I wondering if yall were career or volley. Professional all around. Stay safe brothers.
Great work
Good knock guys! Keep doing the videos!
Great job guys
Nice job brother
Clean lints from dryer and vent regularly 0:42
This is the best Department ever you were calm size up was great!
Also vent the C side when your putting a blower at the front door but still an excellent job taking command
Great stop keep safe brother 🙏

A ventilátor indítása előtt nem láttam, hogy a felső szinten nyílást vágtak volna a füstnek. A túlnyomás így nem segít a füsteltávolításban. Emiatt már halt meg olyan személy, aki még menthető lett volna.
