BHFD Structure Fire 12/1/2024
At 11:17am BHFD was dispatched to a clothes dryer smoking. Enroute to the call, dispatch advised units that the caller now stated that her laundry room was on fire. Crews arrived to find a working fire in a two story split level with smoke showing from attic vents. Crews initiated an interior attack and found a fire in the lower level of the split. The fire was extinguished and extension was chased and controlled. No resident of Firefighter injuries.
Thank you to MHFD, BFD, OVFD and SFD for your assistance.

BHFD Structure Fire 11/21/24
Переглядів 43 тис.21 годину тому
At 1227 BHFD was dispatched for a house fire on Perkins road across the street from the station. Crews could see smoke coming from a house just south of the station. An interior attack found fire in the kitchen on the 1st floor that had extended into a soffit and then ceiling joist space. Extensive overhaul include cutting holes in the floor of the 2nd floor had to be performed to chase hidden ...
Great stop keep safe brother 🙏
10/10 from all involved in this. OIC really aware of the surroundings and where addl crews were needed. Then the driver/pump op, being those second eyes. Awesome work
Good job red hat. You had all the bases covered. Clear relaxed communication to your teams.
Love the initial size up. Great information. And command was running smoothly the whole time. Great job by everyone involved.
I feel bad for that woman. She was probably washing clothes before her workweek and this happens.
My new favorite fire channel. Excellent Work my friend, keep up the good work and keep on posting.
You have to knock that fire down and conduct pre and post control overhaul before setting up PPV. The fan is what’s spreading the fire. PPV is also used as Postfire Positive Ventilation. Remembering it that way reminds you of when to conduct it properly. The intent is good but the tactics need much improvement. 13 year career vet here also before someone says sumn stupid to me.
They used the ppv to clear the smoke since the roof isn’t opened up and the majority of the fire was knocked down. They still have a charged line inside just in case of a flare up.
I feel bad for the home owner I hope her insurance will cover for the damages. Dryer fires are no joke. My ex girlfriend's mother went through that when she was in her teens. The fire department found a squirrels nest in the dryer duct vent.
Loved the way you give specific indications and command management, amazing video!
The DRG and ACD were working the MAGA with RFD. Right?
Seriously, can you please include full department names instead of just the abbreviations? It’d greatly assist viewers from outside your primary response area and mutual aid groups . Including more detailed information would most definitely add more context to the overall video presentation. Coming from a 35+ year volunteer FF/EMT in a suburban town as well as a 25+ year career FF, Battalion Chief & UASI area USAR Team lead…. IMHO, you all did an outstanding job on the response, size up and attack. The videography and editing were superb as well. I’ve heard great things about da Vinci Resolve. The pricing is certainly far better than Apple’s subscription /monthly charge model.
As a drone/UAS operator and robotics unit team lead as well as a drone hobbyist & pilot in my spare time, I am most likely personally biased, but definitely would liked to see UAS/drone overall scene footage included in the final video. Obviously, the time and attention required to prep / launch / position/ control and monitor a drone in flight would be far too resource intensive for an active firefighter, especially an IC. Just a thought…. Our smaller sized municipality’s police department recently purchased a rather advanced drone with thermal camera capabilities in addition to conventional high-resolution video/photo camera. It has the capability of securely transmitting the video signal seen by the drone operator to multiple remote receivers and tablets used by volunteer Fire / EMS / Rescue / Emergency Mgt personnel. It’s truly a versatile tool that can be shared by all. The PD provided free training and FAA Part-107 license prep training for all members of the public safety community. This nearly instantly provided the town with highly trained drone operators who are available 24/7/365 to provide drone support at any incident where it can provide situational awareness to any/all groups.
Also…. The cost is very affordable when split up amongst multiple organizations and the number of trained pilots willing to assist is quite large and growing. Even with limited funds and manpower , small “Pro Sumer” drone like the DJI Mavic3 (under $4k with spare batteries & accessories) could be launched and positioned in a key location within a few minutes by a single operator and left airborne, streaming high quality video to any/all ICs while simultaneously recording for later review and training. Left hovering, depending on weather and wind conditions, you could easily see 30-40min of hovering flight before a battery swap would be required. Carrying 6 fully charged battery packs would enable 3+ hours of continual airborne operation. The 4k drone footage could also easily be incorporated into your social media/UA-cam video content. Thanks again for sharing your video.
@@PowderMillBHFD is Bedford Heights (Helmet Cam), MHFD is Maple Heights, BFD is Bedford, OVFD is Orange Village, SFD is Solon.
Did you keep that glass door open once you opened it, I couldn’t tell if you shut it or not? Just thinking about door control and flow path.
I can tell that you guys train well, you all operate very efficiently on the fire ground and get right in it. I still hate seeing departments, especially career, running with such limited staffing. I know that you had mutual aid but your normal staffing should be more than just an engine and ambulance. I hope that engine isn't staff with only two people.
Where the smoke goes , The fire will follow. 16:20
good to have knowledge of how buildings are built and able to visualize where the RED DEVIL can run ! any little crack it will drill its way to new grounds ! great chasing and communicating as to all Members ! Keep up the great work !
Clean lints from dryer and vent regularly 0:42
Everything was good till ya pulled the fan… might have wanted to wait to make sure there was no visible fire on all floors.
Good job 👏
So many voids for fire to hide in! 😳
Good job. I hope they can rebuild 🙏
What city/state and department is this? They are incredible. One of the best I've ever seen (barcalounger firefighter critic here)😅
Bedford Hts., Ohio
@ryard5576 THANK YOU. Amazing performance. A Standard of Excellence.
Great Knock! One thing I noticed is some of the guys have their coat tails caught/ pinned up in the pack / harness. Just be good to address that and make sure guys are checking each other before entry. Not picking just offering a safety tip. Stay safe guys.
I am not a FF but this is probably the best firefighting video I have seen. Command did excellent, quick 360 and then maskup to attack the fire until he had more manpower. This whole crew did amazing, hydrant attached line laid and water on the fire in 3 minutes from arrival.
Retired from a city where 1/4 of the 1st due was vacant & usually had well involved fire out windows on arrival 2 to 3 times a Tour. we drank beer everyday and fought fires like wild animals , this is organized professionalism is foreign to me
Another great job, keep up the videos!
Happy holidays! Love your vudeos. Quick question... Why do you charge your handline before finding the fire? Saw another video where it had to be dragged up a stairwell - no thank you 😂 I realize its probably dept policy, but just curious if theres an actual reason. Thanks!!
Who’s the guy just standing around outside ?
Nick! How do you have your camera setup? You are getting a great shot of the scene. I am a firefighter from Roswell GA.
Great Job Brother. A True Leader.
So glad I found this channel. I'm enjoying these videos and learning alot. Thanks for posting! Also, i adore all of you, and thank you for being heroes!❤
Just curious. Could the Fan be promoting fire growth/spread?
So that’s probably what caused the fire to show by the chimney. Good and bad. Without it we might not have found the extension to that area. It had to already be up there because the fire room had been soaked down pretty good before the fan was started.
@ yea makes sense Thanks bud. You guys did an awesome job 💪. A lot more damage interior than i expected.
Same question and what software you use to add the blurr? Solid work
So it’s Davinci Resolve. It’s a free editing program and honestly for it being free. It has a ton of good features. I’m still trying to figure everything out because it’s only the second time I’ve used it.
What kind of rig are you using to record? Is that a GoPro on an SCBA strap? Great video, keep em coming brother
It’s a GoPro Hero 10 with the magnetic clip.
Great call Are 2nd due crews allowed to think? They could have gone to 2 while you’re in be kitchen and basement…. Otherwise great job
everytime I see another female in the department it just makes me so un-describably happy. Love seeing women in these fields, much love! ❤
This was beautiful to watch 😍 Im thanking all of you, and sending much love to you❤. Stay safe!
Good stop. Vacant house… everyone went home unhurt.
Love how fast they got to searching the structure…..oh wait.
Also sounds like a CO detector.
What camera was used this was great quality and great video use for training!
That was a can job
Would we be able to watch a POV video of the fire investigator? I've always been interested in the investigation part. To see what started the fires.
when you have a officer that is cool calm and collective an takes charge that enters with a prob they stay cool and calm, great job on the nozzle jess proud of you, 30 years ago i went in to burning buildings thats how you get your feet wet now the department refuses to let probs into a fire even if there ff1 qualified things have changed. i didnt catch the offiecers name but well done captain well done
Smoke conditions didnt look to nasty on the 360 and initial entry but basement fires are always sketchy as hell, awesome leadership, very cool calm & collected
Vent? Primary search? Soak the shit out of it …. Brings back memories
Reminds me of my first captain and your rookie reminded me of myself in my rookie year haha good work brother
My comment is to consider popping that small basement window when you see it. If you get smoke/flames you know it's below you. If not, you know it's above and you haven't opened a big hole. Overall awesome job by the officer. Seems like an excellent leader.
16:23 scba works better with a mask on
Question. How do you decide what side of the structure the alpha, Delta, etc?
Why do I hear CO alarms sounding but not smoke alarms? Does that happen during a fire?
Really really good comms. I’ve operated a handful of times under officers that just expected or assumed you knew what they wanted and then admonished you when you didn’t do it. Very frustrating and demoralizing as a probie
