Mine just hit 416k and the transmission just went out. It’s already on a second motor but it’s a little beast. Dash is not cracked but the front bezel broke off that’s all.
Just got a 2000 1500 5.9 and love it. My Dad had a 89 Ram Charger 4x4 straight 6 but replaced it with a 318. Talk about low gear The Granny gear would break necks
Have a 01 as well was a one owner up until 2020 I am the 2nd owner I install rebuilt trans and swap 5.2 out for a 5.9 and just recently got it painted dodge blue streak srt blue color just got to work on suspension but I love this baby. It’s me 3rd ram and my brother has a 2nd gen too trying to get my pops one soon and rebuild my old 318
Mine's a '97, I got it because it can be easily and cheaply converted to carburetor and points ignition in case of EMP. Once you do that, it can be easily converted to run on Methanol or propane. 3 different fuels.
I found a 99 1500 sport rwd... fully loaded mint... currently 21,000 miles on it...bought it off the owner of the dealership....my first pickup and i love it
Awesome truck, I have an ‘01, 4x4 off-road sport 5.9 with the same rims and factory lift this one seems to have. It has 74k miles and only the beginnings of rust around the wheel well and bottom of the door that I need to get fixed this year, absolutely love these and can’t wait to fix mine up.
I had a 2001 sport just like the one in the video except mine had a 5.2 liter, 5 speed straight trans, camel brown interior and reg cab. I drove it for nine years and loved it. I traded it ten years ago and still miss it.
I own a 2001 dodge ram 1500 Sport Off Road with the 5.9 and K&N CAI, I agree with alot of your points however the engine isn't as bulletproof as you would like to think.. I'm currently doing a engine swap partially because I'm an idiot but partially not at the same time. It's an engine they only handle so much. Love the truck I really enjoy the little LED pods on the sport bumper for some extra light btw!
Yea I have the same vehicle and yes they are very good trucks.. I would rather pay $2500 with 111000 miles on it than making payments on a newer truck that's 30,000k... while also paying full coverage insurance... nope my budget is not setup that way... good vid...
Glad you enjoyed it. If you're looking to tow with it? Or if you want it to be a little bit more quickly. Go with the Off-road Edition it comes with the 4:10 gear ratios & the factory limited-slip differential as long as you don't mind the MPG.

Me and my buddy had transmission problems to, barely 150k miles on them. I sold it and got a Chevy, and it’s solid like a rock and love it. 300k miles on it now
I dont personally have the 4x4 mines 2wd 5 speed manual single cab. It's my first car and now that I know how to drive it it's a blast. Cant wait to get her looking shiny again. Only paid 800 for her

This generation of Ram is the only "real truck" that was ever made nice mix of off road look and on road looks and capability; it does lack in fuel efficiency but it is a truck.
Yeah that no AC can get you haha. I remember driving mine for 2 years without it. Then one day I decided to take a closer look at it and I figured it was a bad AC compressor so I bought a AC repair kit off of Amazon for about $195 just to be safe. Turns out all she needed was just the compressor and some good freon.
Hey Im not sure if you are responding to comments on this video but I noticed that you have the same headlights as me... I bought this truck not too long ago and the headlights flicker on and off while im driving down the road, im not sure why I think its an electrical issue but Im wondering if it is because its now a 2 bulb setup or what but if you have any idea on why it may be doing this that would be greatly appreciated!

3 years after selling my 360 magnum (ha an 7.3 powerstroke in the middle and own a 5.9 cummins now) i still miss the sound of them.

I own a 2000 dodge ram Laramie. Less than 100,000 miles. The only thing I hate about the truck is the gas. Awesome video man.
Thanks, I hate goring to the gas station but it's worth it. Mines is up to 213k miles and it still pulls like a train.

If maintained properly the 318 will outlast the 360

Mine has 276k miles. Rebuilt transmission, original non-rebuilt 360. Just add a quart every 3000 miles. No knocks ticks or rattles!

Do yourself a favor and install PosiLock front cable scrap that axle disconnect actuator.
