You're mis-using "objectively" here-- and yet you're also not. Sometimes films are not enjoyable to watch, but are trying to tell you something with deliberate pain and discomfort. "I'm Thinking of Ending Things" is indeed great movie but it is not an enjoyable one. To be able to see that means being able to analyze it from a more "objective" perspective than simply whether you liked it or not.
I was going to say this. That movie disturbed and upset me so much and I loved every second. I found it extremely relatable... Though, I'm afraid what that says about me...
It comes from lack of curation and basically taking data from what most people watch and trying to appease to audiences rather than making a good film or TV series
Joe I'm GENUINELY surprised that The Lodge wasn't your number one. I kept thinking you were gonna go off again about this garbage fire and was shocked it was left off this list entirely.
It wasn't a garbage fire. Google it. Most people thought it was at least alright. It has good filmaking here and there and is genuinely unsettling. I'll admit I was a bit disappointed by it though. That twist was kinda shitty but it's still not top 10 worst of the year material for me
There were some moments I LOVED in this movie, but it doesn’t make up for how boring the overall experience was to me. And towards the end, when the dance scene kicked in?... ugh. The level of pretentiousness was brutal.
Wow, I liked how Alex brought up the Pitch Meetings of Screen Rant by Ryan. For those that are not aware, kindly check those out as well, it basically makes fun of how pitch meetings of movies go. Don't worry, watching it is super easy, barely an inconvenience. :P
@@juhonieminen4219 this kinda shows why I can't take Joe seriously as a movie critic, he didn't even analyze the message of the film. If someone doesn't understand a movie at the second watch no one's gonna judge you if you look for an analysis of the movie. It's just ugh, and the fact that he put the movie so high is just wtf.
I’d understand why he wouldn’t like it but wtf why is it higher and above Mulan. Mulan was legit the worst movie from 2020 with consideration on how people had to watch it via paying $30 on Disney+
Where the Hell is Netflix's "Cuties" ?. Is that the movie considered child "explicit" movie? To me, it considered the WORST movie of 2020, mostly it's visual diarrhea! Gladly, i didn't even try that full movie... not even once!
To have “im thinking of ending things” on here is pretty wild. I thought it was pretty great throughout. But honestly I really don’t think this is a movie for the type of person that joe is.
Hubie Halloween doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the list. It's just a silly comedy with Adam Sandler, and it has some pretty funny jokes in it. I watched it twice now and it's slowly becoming a guilty pleasure of mine.
If they want to make a "girl power" movie they could go with that time Harley, Poison Ivy and Catwoman teamed up as the Gotham City Sirens. It was announced in 2016 as a follow-up to Suicide Squad and then disappeared, I guess it got replace by Birds of Prey ?
Hey Angry Joe, love your show mate, one suggestion please, when doing movie reviews could you please a small subnote on sound? Most of us have Av Receivers and home theatre systems and would love your input on Dts x or Atmos or any kind of comment on sound ❤️ keep it up!
You can't expect Joe to like that kind of film man, especially when even Kaufman fans were divided about it. 😬 But yeah I agree it was pretty good, I hope Charlie Kaufman gets to make more movies.
I didn't watch any bad movies from 2020..... nor did I watch any good movies either, because mainly, I'm way too busy playing PC games. When I do watch a movie, which is rarely. I watch it on TV and for free. And to think that in my 20's and 30's, I was a movie buff, but times change and now I've become a video gaming buff.
The viewer score on hereditary and uncut gems were also low and those are some amazing films so the audience score isn’t something that should be relevant either
@@roycastanon5754 I’d say the viewer score has been more relevant than the critics score a lot of the time, in my experience. Sometimes critics rate a movie higher for the message it’s trying to convey, or because of the director’s reputation. You also see some questionable gushing reviews of awful tv shows like bat woman and sound suspiciously similar. Then look at the viewer rating and it’s all negative and far more honest. Other times they rate movies bad which become cult classics such as shawshank redemption, which is awesome, When there is a disparity between the critics and general viewers, the viewer is almost always right. With notable exceptions as you stated.
Man, I really love your gaming news segments, but it's so fun when you guys break down movies. There are objectively bad movies, bad movies that are fun, good films with heart, films that go for it, cringe films, pretentious films, tone deaf films, ambitious films, insincere ones filled with condescension, condemnation and contempt. All of them have something we can learn from, something that's ludicrous, fascinating or noteworthy and you guys go after what those things are. You somehow keep criticism on a level that ignores politics for a time, proving there's more to films than their narrow agendas. That's appreciated and very welcome in an age where that's the main focus nearly everywhere else that's popular, where tolerance and pluralism have broken down, where people are told what they want to hear, rather than what they need to hear. Nice break from the madness and negative monotony. So much more fun and a more productive approach studios more likely are to hear. It's still the overall experience that defines enjoyment and quality-- in watching films, in crafting them, even in critiquing them. Kudos for being different, fellas, for sticking to the wider scope of things, for being both angry and authentic, while staying optimistic; folks can't meet high expectations if folks set the bar low.
Glad you guys are alright in these tough times, I believe the weather is calming down now in southern parts of U.S and stores are starting to restock. Stay Strong, Never Give Up, Never Surrender
Man, Birds of Prey was the first movie in *years* that I walked out on in the theaters. I can't even remember the last time I walked out on a movie, even a bad one, and the worst part was I saw the movie like, days, maybe a week or two before the COVID lockdown started. I just remember those first twenty minutes or so were just... so wholly unpleasant, that I just didn't care to watch to the end.
Why even bother looking at what Rotten Tomatoes has to say? They're compromised. They give shit films good scores and good films shit scores based on their politics.

“You seen “Cuties” Joe?”
Angry Joe wanna deny that film so hard
@@ricardohoang8452
Man I really wanted him to review. Everything about that is terrible. ☹️
It was pretty kawai
It's not a bad movie.. . Americans just can't understand it
Joe's not gonna watch that crap even to review it.
I’m Thinking of Ending Things was one of the best films of the year in my opinion. Objectively it deserves a lot of credit
It's a travesty that fucking MULAN got placed lower on this list
I was going to say this. That movie disturbed and upset me so much and I loved every second. I found it extremely relatable... Though, I'm afraid what that says about me...
Neftlix really has some poor quality movies/shows on it.
And also some of the best movies/Series from the Stream Services
It comes from lack of curation and basically taking data from what most people watch and trying to appease to audiences rather than making a good film or TV series
Bruh dead ass Netflix wack as shit.
Nobody mentioning the Mulan film had scenes filmed in a Uighur slave camp?
THE CCP WANTS YOU KNOW UR LOCATION
This is Sadly the earliest I’ll be if UA-cam continues to be fucking awful with its notifications >: /
That twist was kinda shitty but it's still not top 10 worst of the year material for me
Really and puts Im thinking of ending things at 4 and this was one of the greatest this year way better than bloodshit Joe should stick to video games
That's what I said?! He gave it a 1!!
The Harley Quinn movie should have been the Gotham City Sirens with Poison Ivy and Cat Woman.
I'm Thinking of Ending Things? Oh wow
It’s like a jigsaw puzzle that when you finally finish the puzzle all you get is a kick in the nuts.
@@KaneK1234 lmao, not at all
that movie fucking rules. charlie kaufman is a genius
Yea this is why Joe shouldn't try to be a movie critic. It's embarrassing.
I was surprised-Hubee Halloween was actually watchable.
WW84 is my top for worst, I'm going to assume it's got to be on their lists at least in their top 3
Imagine your an actor and in your spare time, you liked watching Angry Joe and he just straight up says “you sucked” in a movie.
Must hurt
If he says you sucked he prob has a reason for it, so unless you couldn't take criticism then whatever
I would just laugh and do a Video reviewing Angry Joes Reviews
I thought that "I'm thinking of ending things" was good
It’s like a jigsaw puzzle that when you finally finish the jigsaw puzzle all you get is a kick in the nuts.
yeah, i watched the movie after watching the review of Yourmoviesucks and really loved it
It was. Joe is just being.... how do I put this? A gamer?
There were some moments I LOVED in this movie, but it doesn’t make up for how boring the overall experience was to me.
And towards the end, when the dance scene kicked in?... ugh. The level of pretentiousness was brutal.
After hearing a million other UA-camrs outline what happened in the film and why they liked it, listening to Joe's confusion is weird.
Wow, I liked how Alex brought up the Pitch Meetings of Screen Rant by Ryan. For those that are not aware, kindly check those out as well, it basically makes fun of how pitch meetings of movies go. Don't worry, watching it is super easy, barely an inconvenience. :P
Ayyyy
Wow...I was expecting The Lodge to be your number 1 this year, but it wasn't anywhere on any of your lists

I was thinking the same thing.
Maybe he didn't see it. I think he only does these for movies he actually watched
@@ifoundmyfingerboard They each had a list. It seems none of them saw it.
Only pe dos watch that like you guys
UA-cam removing videos about it (It has happened)
I can't believe I'm Thinking of Ending Things is in this video
I agree. It was one of my favourite movies of 2020. Alex propably would have liked it, had he seen it. He has so much more patience than Joe.
@@KrisBhlai1 if I don't understand a movie, if its too complex and I don't enjoy it I'd put it in like 10 or something to be discreet.
Alex's reaction to Mulan was my reaction to WW84, especially the part about "This isn't worth the money I didn't pay"
Where the Hell is Netflix's "Cuties" ?. Is that the movie considered child "explicit" movie?
To me, it considered the WORST movie of 2020, mostly it's visual diarrhea! Gladly, i didn't even try that full movie... not even once!
They probably didn't watch it.
Which is understandable.
Says the pe do weeb
Don't you have some little anime girl having an "oh" face in your avatar? Sounds like someone's projecting
@@psychobillynumbnuts1 I think i find this funny... your comment! applause for this reaction!
To have “im thinking of ending things” on here is pretty wild. I thought it was pretty great throughout. But honestly I really don’t think this is a movie for the type of person that joe is.
I think it was my favorite of 2020 by a pretty wide margin, but I would expect Joe not to like it based on him finding Annihilation hard to follow.
Hubie Halloween doesn't deserve to be anywhere near the list. It's just a silly comedy with Adam Sandler, and it has some pretty funny jokes in it. I watched it twice now and it's slowly becoming a guilty pleasure of mine.
You...you...you monster!
Theres something oddly charismatic about it. Just turn off your brain and relieve all your stress
If they want to make a "girl power" movie they could go with that time Harley, Poison Ivy and Catwoman teamed up as the Gotham City Sirens. It was announced in 2016 as a follow-up to Suicide Squad and then disappeared, I guess it got replace by Birds of Prey ?
"Bloodshot is the Trash Compactor of the film industry but it's a SMART trash."
That Trash can have a 1000 iq and it would still trash.
Hey Angry Joe, love your show mate, one suggestion please, when doing movie reviews could you please a small subnote on sound? Most of us have Av Receivers and home theatre systems and would love your input on Dts x or Atmos or any kind of comment on sound ❤️ keep it up!
wtf i'm thinking of ending things was awesome
You can't expect Joe to like that kind of film man, especially when even Kaufman fans were divided about it. 😬 But yeah I agree it was pretty good, I hope Charlie Kaufman gets to make more movies.
I was shocked by that. Charlie Kaufman is usually amazing. And I really wanted to see this.
Lol is that the countdown voiceover and graphics from NFL Films Top 10 series? Love it!
I would argue that Ewan McGregor is the best part of Birds of Prey
He was horrible
@@deKlaw_04 He was hilarious
@@williamcanizales4483 he wasn’t black mask that’s why he was garbage but everyone in that film sucked
21:00 eh the viewer score is a 48% so really not that good, wish people stopped using the "critics" score as THE score, its hardly ever relevant
Audience reviews are always more trustworthy
The viewer score on hereditary and uncut gems were also low and those are some amazing films so the audience score isn’t something that should be relevant either
@@roycastanon5754 I’d say the viewer score has been more relevant than the critics score a lot of the time, in my experience. Sometimes critics rate a movie higher for the message it’s trying to convey, or because of the director’s reputation. You also see some questionable gushing reviews of awful tv shows like bat woman and sound suspiciously similar. Then look at the viewer rating and it’s all negative and far more honest.
Other times they rate movies bad which become cult classics such as shawshank redemption, which is awesome,
When there is a disparity between the critics and general viewers, the viewer is almost always right. With notable exceptions as you stated.
How is the lodge not on here!?!?!
Yo why Alex’s chest look so big out of nowhere? He been hitting the gym?!
I'm glad I wasn't the only one staring at his chest.
Ben swolo
Nah alex is just one big ass boi.
He's getting in shape to play Abby in The Last Of Us TV show.
@@Maggbba He's too scrawny to play Abby
I'm thinking of ending things... how is it so high?? I feel like Joe just didnt understand this one would highly recommend a rewatch.
can you give me a time code. i adore that film. want to know if he says something id understand or something cringe
Glad you guys are alright in these tough times, I believe the weather is calming down now in southern parts of U.S and stores are starting to restock. Stay Strong, Never Give Up, Never Surrender
You act like normal midwestern winter is a warzone. For such tough talk, you southerners seem to flinch at any extreme weather.
Was surprised to see birds of prey here. Definitely didn’t love this movie but idk about a worst top 10 movie.
It deserved to be put in that list
@@MrNew2tube No it wont
Man, Birds of Prey was the first movie in *years* that I walked out on in the theaters. I can't even remember the last time I walked out on a movie, even a bad one, and the worst part was I saw the movie like, days, maybe a week or two before the COVID lockdown started. I just remember those first twenty minutes or so were just... so wholly unpleasant, that I just didn't care to watch to the end.
Why even bother looking at what Rotten Tomatoes has to say? They're compromised. They give shit films good scores and good films shit scores based on their politics.
Lol Rotten Tomatoes aggregates scores from different publications. They don’t ‘give scores’
@@TarheelTeddy2011 Can't deny that it's getting corrupted
You do understand they don't review films and just put a lot of them together for the medium one?

I'm literally convinced some of joe's subs are jut subed to dislike his videos the moment the come out! 😂😂it's both funny and sad....
That’s the case with every channel basically lol. It’s probably mostly misclicks.
Until OJ starts cosplaying as Quiet again from Metal Gear, those dislikes will forever follow OJ. 🤣

Birds of prey was one of the only DC movies I've ever liked since dark knight lmao
Disney thanking concentration guards in the Mulan credits was peak awfulness. I didn't even realize new mutants was even released after all those years.
I personally loved the Harley Quinn movie
That’s great because nobody else does

Ryan George is the best thing to happen to Screen Rant. Everything else that trash plagiarizing channel makes is exactly that
Great video so far
"Shit on Hansel."
Have you read the original fairy tale? He didn't do shit to earn top-billing.
I heard that I'm Thinking of Ending Things was based on a book you were kinda expected to read first (because everybody like every entertainment medium) and changed the ending.
this made me realize that the last move i saw in theaters was end game and that makes me happy

Y’all should do a top 10 upcoming films this year
Putting "I'm thinking of ending things" between all these trash movies is a disgrace
I can understand it. Sometimes a film just isn't for you. Doesn't mean you "didn't get it", sometimes a film just doesn't gel.
"Everything about this... sucked peepee." Oj made me laugh at that one
