I decided to buy both the Air 2s and the DJI FPV drone and am loving them both. The FPV side takes lots of practice and sim time for sure but is totally worth it. After these two drones the next purchase is a Cinelog 35, then later I will build, but you can't beat the DJI FPV system IMHO. Great video ! Cheers from Moab Utah... ;-)

Epic footage Jake!! And thank you for breaking down, in detail, the differences between the kind of drones and their strengths and uses! I'm still a Mavic 2 Pro guy, but it is exciting to see the new FPV frontier!
Nice footage Jake.. I use mini 2 early dusk or dawn or flat out night time and I use DJI FPV on bright sunny days as I simply cannot see my phone screen when the sun is out.. FPV goggles really keeping me in the game 😅
Thanks Jake! Great summary of FPV vs Normal Drones. I like the Mini 2 for slow aerial shots especially the straight down view. However, the DJI FPV is so fun to fly, with very cool perspective when flying close to the ground (no sudden loss of signal). Do you bring both to your favorite glacier sites and ice caves (I'm very jealous)?
Thanks for the video! That FPV drone produce some intense and awesome action POV footage! Looks like stuff that wouldn’t have been possible a few years ago unless you were a major Hollywood production. My guess however is that for wide open spaces like in Alaska, FPV drones are great... but in densely populated or forest, tree filled, or even metropolitan areas, flying them may be quite challenging.
@@JakeSloan unreal! Also this video is great! I’ve been flying fpv for a bit so I knew most of what you’re talking about already but I love the footage you capture so that was easily enough of a reason to stay!

Awesome footage Jake. The comparisons was great, but you really need both. The stabilized drones with GPS are a necessity if you’re primarily out to take pictures and video. I show people how the “throttle” is really an altitude change control. “Pitch” is really a go forward control. Super easy. FPV is a BLAST though. Self leveling is for wimps! That said I can’t fly acro without the FPV feed. You are a beast! The tunnel footage kills my! Great job!
Hello Jake!! This video was intriguing and caught my attention when I seen the thumbnail notification. Right off the bat when I first see a FPV drone, I was uninterested. It's not for me. I prefer the more stable and cinematic drones, like the Mavic 2 Pro to be exact. Different strokes for different folks. It all depends on what one would want to do and/or record. Nevertheless, it's another way to get out there and fly. Good video!

OK the footage you can get FPV is just not obtainable with the “standard” drones. Interestingly, I’ve seen myself judging FPV footage by how focused I can be on a subject, vs continuing to realize it’s FPV drone footage. Like someone following a motorcycle. If I find myself concentrating on the bike, and not critiquing how good a job the pilot is doing, then I know he’s doing a good job. I’m sure you know what I mean. That tunnel is too cool though!
I really want these drones, but I’m no where near these fantastic sceneries. I would just have my neighborhood to fly around in which I don’t think is legal.

Another greatly appreciated video, some really great shots!! One small thing though, and maybe it’s just me nitpicking but why, why do you refer to racing type drones as “FPV drones”? Pretty sure anything you fly ( or drive for that matter) that has a camera on it and the operator can get a “windshield view” qualifies as being FPV”. I’ve been flying and driving many different platforms for years now, by looking at a monitor, tv screen, or into goggles and am I wrong that it’s all FPV?!
@@JakeSloan yes I know it’s definitely getting to be a common way of referring to the racing type drones, even DJI calls their new model the DJI FPV. (Surely they realize all their models are “Fpv” haha. ). Anyway cheers! Love your vids and reviews!!
@@JakeSloan By the way why can't the FPV drones be as good in taking quality photos and videos as, say, DJI's best at taking photos and videos (I think it's the Air 2S coz' it has the largest sensor of current drones out of the box), can't DJI just include all the features in one firmware (GPS, and all that) or maybe someone has figured out how to flash the firmware of the DJI FPV drone to be the one drone to rule them all?

Thanks
Are you aware of any drones that do flips/rolls/stunts that are NOT FPV?
Nope none that I know of
Its probably a PoS drone with no gimbal
4:35 sorry if it's out of context but can anyone tell me the name of this location please 🙏🙏🙏🙏🤗🤗🤗🤗 ps amazing video by the way❤️❤️
That’s Hatcher pass Alaska
@@JakeSloan ohhhh, wonderfull!! Alaska and Canada are the best territories for adventure! Thankyou so much have a wonderful day 🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
Ok I thinking bout the dji fpv cause of a few things and I would like anyones comments on what I should do. I have never flew a drone really not counting like a cheap toy. I want to get into the fpv hobby. If I get dji fpv I will learn and get practice. I will have the goggles if I wish to get another fpv drone I can bind ect. So mite as spend extra money get drone and experience instead of just buying goggles stand alone. The dji fpv I like the cinema part even though there mixed reviews. I not really interested in racing ect. right now. Anyones comments welcome. Please. Thank You
Then the DJI FPV drone would be a great place to start for you
@@JakeSloan Thank You
Another greatly appreciated video, some really great shots!!
Thanks Larry and to an extent I agree. it's more the common way of referring to the non GPS stabilized drones
@@JakeSloan yes I know it’s definitely getting to be a common way of referring to the racing type drones, even DJI calls their new model the DJI FPV. (Surely they realize all their models are “Fpv” haha. ). Anyway cheers! Love your vids and reviews!!
first
Congrats! You win my respect 😜
New subscriberr here.
Thanks!
I like gov drone
Cheers
5-6 mins flight time..? that's not impressive, i'd expect a lot more from FPV.
That’s actually quite good for FPV most are in the 3-4 min range. They are using massive amounts of power to go that fast
That is not a real fpv drone
this wasn't just the DJI FPV drone, I have footage in this video from many of my other custom built fpv drone
Its not even real fpv
Ok then
2-6 min flight time? thank you but fudging no.
That’s actually quite good for FPV drones.
