    I would have liked to see an exact shot of the before and after. The after didn't even look like the before photo.

      That is because the crack was repaired. I can send you high quality close-up before and after images.

      yeah, right. 100 point resto means you can't tell where it was repaired. before and after pics should be the exact same view.

    • @bodeine454
      @bodeine454 5 років тому +2

      Exactly, you repaired a particular area of the dash and then showed a distant picture at an angle that clearly doesn't show the repaired area and then a picture of the opposite end of the dash that wasn't repaired!
      This reminds me of the commercials these days that take everybody for a fool!
      We're grownups not little children!

      My exact thought too. I say bullshit on a perfect repair. You could see that there were areas without any texture after he textured it in the 'before paint' picture, so you know there isn't going to be any texture after it's painted. Plus, the cracking sticks up on the edges of the cracks, so that would need to be knocked down in order to get a 'looks as good as the day it was made' look. No way!

    I used a 50/50 mix of fiberglass resin and bondo each with their respective hardeners... of course I prepped it first made grooves where the cracks were. Filled with the mixture and sanded... repeated if necessary. Then I matched the pattern of the rest of the dash... finally paint... came out flawless

      Amazingly wrong! There is no way that that dash looked flawless in the end. Been doing things like this for 30+ years, and I can promise you that the way it was done, it does not look flawless. If it was flawless, they would have taken the before and after pictures from the exact same angle. Plus, you can clearly see that there is no texture in areas before it is painted, thus the different camera angle.

    Beautiful job friend. What do I need to do for a straight hairline long crack? It’s so straight u can barely see the crack, so I think it would be an easy fix.

    I'm sorry but I'm calling bs on the "100 point restoration on this dash" comment. You can tell the camera person strategically took pics of the dash at angles where you wouldn't see the texture, or lack of texture in the repair area. you can also tell the texture did not get applied to the entire area of repair when the sponge looking thing was removed. anyone watching this should be skeptical.

    I'm thinking drywall plaster would work ok

    same spot from a totally different angle and different light reflexion make it very suspicious........
    by the way when you removed the texture pad there was a section that did not get the texture. I m not saying that you cannot do it but you need to show accurately the results.

    The. The other parts will crack. Pay the money and get a proper restoration most people out there skimp on the interior of their cars. If you go into a restoration either do it right A-Z or don’t do it at all.
