watched so so so many videos about this game and I finally caved and paid for it. So here I am downloading/installing and looking at this stuff. Thank you.

This was a huge help to me! I had a hotas (saitek x56) which made gameplay impossible as the controls were bugged. restarted the game without the hotas and followed the guide. this guide succesfully helped me learn m+kb flying.
It's criminal that there's only a few thousand views on this. This is exactly the things I was desperate to know when I started last night. Extra confusing when trying to use HOSAS and bind functions.
I just bought in today after several free weekends of renting ships and never doing anything with. (C8R is a perfect match for my gameplay style) I actually forced my husband to fly! This guide is super clear and non threatening. Thank you.
I just about killed myself with the "I" for inventory function. Was landing on a moon and needed to put on my helmet. Hit "I" while in the pilot chair and it shut down the engines. I figured it out before crashing and managed to land (and got my helmet on), but the overlap in commands can be scary for a new player.

I have the same starting ship. When i found out about the light speed travel, I can't help but notice how my ship looks like a spear and now I whanna spear head it into pirate ships

i went in too hot thinking pressing W while looking up will make me go higher. Forgot to hit spacebar. crashed into the station and died lol
When will you make the 201 guide?
I was having problems with flying. Turns out my landing gear never retracted due to a bug. So the gear icon was always on.

i can't figure out how to get to the other side of a planet quickly when the waypoint is there any advice?
What do you mean by "90 on the bars"? Like your pitch?
Where can you see your altitude?
When you are in the atmosphere of a planet or moon the altitude is on the right of your hud. Look for "Altm". The numbers along the bar are KM. The number next to the bar in a rectangle is your current altitude. 90 on the bars was me mentioning the pitch of your ship. In atmo 2 bars appear next to your cursor. One on each side. As you point your ship around they move to show your orientation. 0 on the bar is parallel to the surface. 90 perpendicular. -90 pointed at the surface.
i wish there was a flight school system to explain all of the keybinds and how to activate different systems because it explains nothing and the hint system doesn't help because it gives like the keybind that just says activate blah blah but not what to press
When I press space nothing happens
Double check your engines are on. "i" will toggle engines on and off. Certain ships, especially large ones, on planets with strong gravity may have difficulty with taking off. In that case you may have to use the afterburner when taking off. So hold shift while holding space
