This video easily surpasses most travel guide videos made with much higher production budgets. Amazing work, video footage, overall attention to detail and documentation of links provided in the description. I've been to Seoul many times before, but even I found some things I've overlooked in my prior travels. I've said this before and I'll say it again, the Korea Tourism Organization should sponsor this channel 👍
Wow thanks so much for the kind words @ICDeadPeeps! You made our day! There are so many things to see in Seoul, and we're going to highlight the lesser known places as well later on!
My husband came across this video while planning our next visit to Seoul. We have been back many times but wanting to know what is new, our search brought us to this channel. This is the best video we have watched when planning a trip to Seoul! The insight and knowledge of the areas, their history, backgrounds, tips only locals know, and all the additional information you would give to a friend visiting this amazing city are all here. This is an outstanding guide to the city you would only get after reading many guide books, and watching many videos. The visual of the areas and subway maps are very helpful. Wow. I think Seoul Tourism should work with you. Thank you so much~!
@lovesbeautiful1004 thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! Much appreciated! Really glad that it was helpful too, and have an amazing trip to Seoul!
@@kimcristina wow thank you so much for your generosity and support! Will use it as motivation to keep learning and improving and add your name to the end if that's okay! So happy that you guys got to visit Seoul and Busan! Hope you guys had a nice trip, and take care eh!
This is a fantastic guide for anyone, not just a first time traveler. It’s a little ambitious but is an excellent framework for folks that want to really experience the city. Seriously, if you are headed to Seoul….this channel has some of the very best advice on UA-cam.
Thanks so much for the nice comment @Runjinrun2! Haha I agree and think it would be tiring to follow the guide 100%. Hopefully people can pick and choose out of everything in there to modify it to their tastes! Really appreciate the praise too!
I lived in Korea for 6 months and am now going back for the first time since, this video really helped me plan my trip and enabled me to show my loved ones every facet of Seoul. Thank you so much!
Wow Matty!! You have done an amazing amount of work to make this excellent video!! It’s such a thorough summary with so much information a tourist will enjoy when visiting this country. We have watched this several times and want to use it next time we come!! You have always loved Korea and its people✨🌷 Thank you Yujin for your support too!!💫
I lived and worked in Seoul for 11 years, and I think this video is a fantastic guide! It certainly hits the most important highlights of the city and a lot more. It covers some things I didn't even know about! Of course, Seoul is so big that there are many things that you can see and do that aren't mentioned here, depending on your interest or taste, but if you do even 75% of these recommendations, you will have a very good feel for Seoul and its version of Korean culture today. One suggestion (which might already be covered in another video?) is to offer some tips and strategies for people who have dietary restrictions (vegetarians and vegans). Seoul is swimming in great places to eat if you can eat anything, but if you don't eat meat or seafood, it can be very frustrating to have a whole street full of restaurants but realize there is nothing that you can eat at any of them!
Thanks so much for watching and for the kind words @ojotut! And as you certainly know from living here for 11 years, there are so many amazing areas in Seoul that aren't a part of this video as well, but a lot of these places are good for people new to Korea I think. Also thanks for the input about dietary restrictions. I am going to make a separate video just to make it easy for people to search for, as like you said there is no "easy" way to travel here with dietary restrictions, and I think it requires a specific guide to make it easier. Take care and thanks again!
@Fausto.Realtor.Houston wow thanks so much for the kind words! Made my day with this comment! Take care and hope you can check out Korea someday if you're interested!
This is so much better than any other videos I have seen on this topic in YT. I especially appreciate the thoughtful components such as maps, historical context and correct pronunciation of Korean names for places.

Great video. I’m sure it was a lot of work. Thanks for all the great information. I’m in Seoul right now with my family and this information is so helpful. Keep doing what you guys are doing we appreciate your work. Keep up the great work!!!!
Thanks so much for the kind words @tc3213! Really appreciate it! Hope you have an excellent trip in Seoul (the weather is absolutely amazing this week)!
I spent 9 months in Korea on a consulting gig back in 1999. I stayed in Seoul, working 3 days/week, then one day driving to Inchon and one day flying to Yosu. I had the weekends off, as well as the many one-day holidays (I remember there being something like 22 per year). I never ran out of new things to try in Seoul. I loved my time there, especially the people and the food. This video brought back a lot of fond memories. Thanks!
That's amazing @TheMaartian thanks for sharing your stories! You must have a lot of great memories, and I bet Seoul looks a whole lot different (yet similar) than it was in '99. You're so right that there are so many great places to explore!
Thanks so much Mike! That's incredibly kind of you to do! Now that I've got a bit more time after making this, it's time to catch up on your newer videos! Looking forward to them!
What a wonderful, unbiased itinerary for travelers visiting Korea for the first time. It must have been a ton of work recording and editing this video. Thanks for sharing!
Hey @nonblocking thanks so much for the kind words and for all of your support! It definitely took some time to make this, but it was fun visiting everything again as well!
This is the most concise and informative travel video about Seoul. You did a great job with the itinerary and made it beautiful with excellent video footage. I've gotta check out your information about solo travel. Loved the part about your subscribers not being into Gangnam, and I certainly fall into that category. Thank you!
Thanks so much for watching and for all the kind words @Mudskipper9876! Haha it's definitely hard to make a list of places that appeals to everyone, so I tried to come up with alternatives to places that aren't necessarily "must see" like Gangnam as you said. I still have so many places to recommend to the more adventurous travelers that aren't interested in the tourist places as much, so it'll be fun to showcase those later on too!
Thank you very much for your hard work. This guide is going to be extremely useful for my visit. It was worth the extra weeks wait for the LTF post. Regards
Wow, this by far is the best video on travel in Seoul for both 1st timers or folks like me who are going back for a 3rd time. So many videos out there on just cafes and fashion so it’s refreshing to come across yours that is so much more comprehensive. I wish had this video during my first visit- you’ve planned an amazing 7 day trip with amazing recommendations. Will definitely use this to plan my upcoming trip. Thank you so much! 🎉🎉

@@lostthenfound I’m serious about my statement I don’t see any other channel really competing with yours if u start with video formats like “Seoul District Review” “Seoul hiking guide” I don’t know “G25 vs Seven Eleven” or any kind of guide would likely result in a blow up eventually
I've been planning a 1 month trip to seoul, taipei and japan, watched dozens of travel guides but this is by far the best I've ever seen. Simple, thoughtful and with dozens of instructions. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this.
@barryrosenblatt1282 thanks so much for the kind words! Wow 25 years in Seoul eh! You must have seen incredible change within that time period. Hope you have a wonderful trip this time around visiting, and have a happy holidays and new year! Take care eh!
Got our visa today! Multiple entry for 5 years!! We will go there this coming Dec 14-19 2024. (It’s my second time to visit Korea)❤ Thank you for your recommendations/suggestions, very helpful. 😊
What a fantastic guide. It makes me really look forward to getting back to Korea again for more exploring. From my first trip, I'd also really recommend the Inwangsan Hike as it was a highlight. As well as the hike up to Namsam Tower. I was really impressed with the museums too. And inside the multi-level buildings at Namdaemun market was such a unique experience of organized shopping chaos. Thanks again for making such a great video.
Thanks so much @northice! Inwangsan and Namsan are definitely worth the hike for the views, and agree with you about Namdaemun too! Definitely a lot of fun stuff to explore here!
We're going to visit Seoul in 2025. This is by far the best and most detailed travel guide about the city. I can simply plan our visit based solely on this video. Thank you so much for that!
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words @sharonthaxton5921! Really hope you can make it to Seoul someday, as there are so many good places to explore!
I absolutely LOVED this detailed itinerary! I am going on a (mostly) solo trip to Korea next month and this is the structure/clarity I was looking for when it comes to travelling in Seoul! 정말 감사합니다 !
Thank you so much @josiaprince4312! Really appreciate the kind words, and hope you have an amazing trip to Seoul! Shameless Plug: We made a video on eating alone in Korea with some important tips if you are curious. The BBQ restaurant from Hongdae was pretty good that's in the video: ua-cam.com/video/dldef4N_xkI/v-deo.html
Sorry for the multiple comments, but I have 2 suggestions for Gangnam: 1) Olympic Park which I enjoyed more than Seoul Forest and has a really cool history museum onsite; 2) Bangee (probably spelled it wrong) Food Market Street located between Lotte World Mall and Olympic Park. First half of the market is more modern and upscale and once you cross over the main street, the other side of the market is more old school Korean market feel. I found some really good places to eat in both sections worth checking out.
No worries at all @ICDeadPeeps and thanks for the suggestions! Agree that Olympic Park is amazing, and I've been to the traditional market in Bangi-dong which was also cool (never been to the more modern section). I'll think about these for a video later on with more things to do in Seoul. Much appreciated!
@Roses20021 thanks so much for watching, and that's great to hear you will make it here in April! Spring time is a really beautiful time to come here. All the best with planning, and have an amazing trip!
I was stationed in Yongsan from the summer of 2011 to the summary of 2012 and got to see some of these sites and I fell in love with the country. I am planning a trip back hopefully soon and your guide is really informative and made my trip easier to plan. I’ve also been watching your biking and hiking videos, which is another thing I would like to do on our trip. All your videos are really great and informative and I like seeing some of the non-tourist areas you go to. Keep up the good work.
@kayledawson4283 thanks so much for watching and for the kind words! You must have a lot of great memories from back then. You'll notice a lot has changed in the past 10+ years as well (I recommend checking out the cheese section at E Mart or Homeplus to be blown away). Hope you can make it back here soon, and definitely check out some hikes and bike rides if you can and the weather is decent!
This is so helpful! After doing the cross country bike path I'll have exactly 7 days in Seoul so this is perfect! I have a few days in Busan too so I'll be looking out for that video! Big thanks to your channel for so much detailed easy to follow tips, as a solo traveller this is so helpful! Cheers
Thanks so much for watching and for all the kind words @BasicStealthcamping! Busan video will still be a while because I won't be around there anytime soon, but if it's your first time in Busan I'd definitely spend most of your time around Gwangalli and Haeundae relaxing. They are both filled with tourists, but it's kind of a relaxed/party vibe with a lot of good food/drinks around. If you want a more quiet beach then go to Songjeong Beach instead, and consider hiking Jangsan Mountain for a really nice view of Busan on a clear day!
@@lostthenfound that is fantastic thank you so much! it sounds like your vibe is very similar to mine so if you say its great, im sure it will suit! cheers and thank you again

Thank you so much for creating this video! It's very informative and well planned. I especially enjoy how the day's itinerary is clustered so that it is nearby each other. A very nice video. Only thing I would add would be - tell people about the library in the old Seoul City Hall - so much better than the Starfield "library". Thanks for the video.
Thanks so much @joemacdonald1980! Also that's a great tip! To be honest Starfield Library isn't my style either, but I know that travelers love to go there so I put it in the video.
Unfortunately discovered this after I had done most of my trip planning. But thank you for helping me fill in the rest of my itinerary with some great gems I had missed! Very helpful!
Wow! This itinerary video is so well-done! I’m heading to Seoul next month and have been watching tons of videos, but this is the only one I watched from start to finish without skipping! Great job!
Hi from A&O, your video is really a good one for "First to Come to Seoul Tourists" in fact it is also a good guideline for middle class money spenders as the areas choosen are all so affordable, gingerly priced. Thank you and cheers!
This is by far the best video I've found to give people ideas on what to do in Seoul. I'm going to be there soon, unfortunately only for 4 days as part of a wider tour so won't have time to see everything, but I've watched a lot of videos on here to give me ideas and this video has doubled the things that I have added to my list to include more than just the key sights, so that I can experience a lot more of the city. Thanks!
@scottoftheworld thank you so much for the kind words and for watching! Really happy to hear that we could share some additional places, and hope you have an amazing trip to Seoul!
Amazing video! These tips were so helpful. I went to Seoul recently and most DMZ tours are running again just not to the blue houses and the actual border. It's stopped after the American soldier jumped the border and fled into North Korea. But the other tours are open again to the tunnel and the observatory etc., and it's still a very interesting tour to do.
@Heleenvk thank you so much! Really glad to hear that! Also thanks for giving us an update on the DMZ tours! I didn't realize that the soldier was on a tour when he defected. I wonder if they are going to stop doing the Panmunjom tours forever then? That's great to hear that the tour available now was still worth doing though!

I just got back from a two week trip to Busan and Seoul. Wonderful experience. As much as I saw on my trip, this video confirms there was more to see and I definitely will be returning. My fear is that it looks like an influx of tourists will be coming, which might ruin it for me. 😊
@qtrust really glad to hear you had an amazing experience! Also there are definitely a lot of tourists these days, especially at a lot of spots in this video. However, there are so many amazing spots in Seoul that aren't tourist heavy at all, and we'll make a separate video about some of them within the next few months hopefully!

I've been planning a 1 month trip to seoul, taipei and japan, watched dozens of travel guides but this is by far the best I've ever seen. Simple, thoughtful and with dozens of instructions. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this.
@ahmetatalay thank you so much for watching and for the kind words! Really happy to hear that!
Excellent, comprehensive and well thought out. I lived in Seoul for 25 years and learned a couple things. Here now visiting, thanks.

@irenedy5061 woohoo that's great congratulations! Hope you have a wonderful trip to Korea!

Sorry for the multiple comments, but I have 2 suggestions for Gangnam:
1) Olympic Park which I enjoyed more than Seoul Forest and has a really cool history museum onsite;
2) Bangee (probably spelled it wrong) Food Market Street located between Lotte World Mall and Olympic Park.
The greatest guide ever

A very nice video. Only thing I would add would be - tell people about the library in the old Seoul City Hall - so much better than the Starfield "library". Thanks for the video.

Brilliant mate 💯

I just got back from a two week trip to Busan and Seoul. Wonderful experience. As much as I saw on my trip, this video confirms there was more to see and I definitely will be returning. My fear is that it looks like an influx of tourists will be coming, which might ruin it for me. 😊
@qtrust really glad to hear you had an amazing experience! Also there are definitely a lot of tourists these days, especially at a lot of spots in this video. However, there are so many amazing spots in Seoul that aren't tourist heavy at all, and we'll make a separate video about some of them within the next few months hopefully!
Well there is a government tourism program right now that waives a K-ETA or a visa from several countries but that ends at the end of 2024.
