One afternoon in late 1977, the 3 older Gibb brothers sat down and wrote Too Much Heaven & Tragedy…..then that evening they wrote Shadow Dancing with Andy! Imagine their talent……writing three #1 Hits in the same day🎼!!!
His first three releases hit number one. I Just Wanna Be Your Everything, Love Is Thicker Than Water and Shadow Dancing. Everlasting Love and Time Is Time. Freddie Mercury had Andy do high note tracks for Queen. Andy didn't have a problem hitting the high notes. He was a Gibb. Died way too young.
Love this reaction, you captured Andy perfectly.. omg this song is still so 🔥 and so is Andy (may he RIP) one of my favourite 70s/80s singers.. I'm so glad I grew up in the late 70s & 80s.. best time ever!!! You should react to "I just want to be your everything" one of my favourite songs other than shadow dancing... know every word to all his music!!! Love him.. I was crushed when he passed away (I was 14 going on 15 at the time) ..
Great review! Hopefully your review will let more young people know about this talented man who left us way too young. His albums were HUGE back in the day. I do not think his brothers ever got over his death. RIP Andy, Maurice and Robin. And thank God, Barry is still with us.
Andy was my first crush! He was huge! In ‘77 ‘78 he was pretty much as famous as his brothers. They helped write, produce his records, Barry in particular. He had three number ones and eight songs in the top 20. It’s mine blowing that he was a massive star at the same time The Bee Gees hit megastardom with Fever. Listen to: I just want to be your everything (his first US single and it went to #1) Love is Thicker than Water (also #1) Barry considered Andy his twin because they were so much alike even though 12 years age difference.
My older cousin introduced me to great music from a young age. I was about 10 yrs old when she bought Andy's new single "I just want to be your everything" & she had me come over to hear it. She played it over & over on a constant loop, until we both had the lyrics memorized. I just turned 55 on Tuesday (Apr 5) & I still know every word of that song & "Shadow Dancing". Those two songs have been burned into my long term memory, so I'll still be able to sing it verbatim when I'm in my 80's or 90's... if my body lasts that long - LOL! I'm so glad more people are starting to discover the music of the "baby Bee Gee" brother. Even though Andy was 12 years younger than Barry (the oldest), they could have been twins. They share very similar facial features & vocal sound. Barry & Andy looked more like twins than the actual fraternal twins, Robin & Maurice did - LOL! Andy is the baby of the family & he was still little when his older brothers hit it big on the music charts back in the 1960's. With the help of his brothers, Andy embarked upon a solo career, which he was very successful at, even in the short amount of time he created music. He put out a few albums, appeared on many TV shows, & also hosted a variety show called SOLID GOLD that did weekly countdowns of the most popular songs of the time. On occasion, he joined The Bee Gees while on their concert tours or TV specials. Sadly, he died just a few days past his 30th birthday (1988) from a heart condition, which was greatly exacerbated by years of alcohol & drug use. He was the youngest, but the first to pass away. Then twin #1 Maurice died in 2003, followed by the other twin, Robin in 2012. Barry, the oldest boy and his sister, Leslie (first born) are the last two surviving Gibb siblings left...
Thanks a ton. Love your reaction and comments. "Shadow dancing" was released in April 1978 as the lead single from his second studio album of the same name. It was co-written with his 3 brothers but with ONLY Barry's backing vocals and was N°1 during seven weeks in USA. It was his third US N°1 but also the last. Before, Andy had 2 other N°1: "I just want to be your everything" and " Love is thicker than water". But several following tracks even charted but not so high : "Everlasting love (5), "Our love don't throw it away" ( 9), Desire (4), "I can't help it" a duet with Olivia Newton John (12), "Time is time" (15), "Me without you" ( 40), "All I have to do is dream" duet with Victoria Principal (51). My fav tracks by Andy are: Me, without you, Desire, Time is time and Love is thicker than water.
0oooo...my teen crush! 🥰 I loved him so much! He passed away in 1988 when I was a senior in high school. I cried all day. I was so very sad! It amazes me just how talented that family is. The brothers have a sister named Leslie. I wouldn't be surprised if she could sing too. Barry wrote the majority of Andy's songs but Andy did contribute too. The brothers were wanting to tour with him and do some music together but unfortunately Andy passed away before that happened. Great reaction!
We first heard Andy Gibb in the US with I JUST WANT TO BE YOUR EVERYTHING - a #1 hit. There’s a PERFECT live appearance on STEVE KERSHNER’S ROCK SHOW with much better acoustics and backing vocals than the Midnight Special video. Hope you’ll react!!
Such a smooth and sexy song, not full out disco and not a slow ballad. As hot as The Bee Gees were in 1978, Andy's "Shadow Dancing" was the top hit of 1978 followed by The Bee Gees' "Night Fever". His first hit is also a Gibb classic, "I Just Want Your Be Your Everything", also reaching #1.
let the facts be known. many people think andy was a part of the bee gees. he was not. he was their younger brother. and started singing and releasing albums in 1977. andy did go on tour with his brothers and you can see him on some "live" songs which were lip synched. i am sure andy did not contribute background vocals on any of his brothers records. and lastly his brothers did write many songs he recorded on the few solo albums he did before he died.
The applause at the end was real. It's just that the singing music part was lip synced as most live tv performances of the 1070s were. So, when the video editor of this performance from that time cuts out the music because the song ends, the live reaction is pasted back in which makes the audience clapping seem fake. But, the applause was the only REAL part that night.
I hate it when they edit the cheering like that. Moving the height of the cheering forward a few seconds so they can have it at the point before the music fades, then quickly fade it out. I do think it's the actual crowd there, just edited. Shows did that a lot back then.
I used to get up to show people what you got that you got any moved but I don't think you got no morals but you should have got to bust a move you need me to get on yourself to help you

Barry and the brothers wrote the song for Andy, right before he past away he was getting ready to join the BeeGees. What a talent they had
Loved Andy Gibb. He looks so much like Barry and sounds like him. Andy had such a great career of his own. Gone way to soon. R.I.P. SWEET ANDY
❤❤❤❤4 super 🌟🌟🌟🌟🔝🔊🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
i had biggest crush on ANDY GIBB
His first three releases hit number one.
I Just Wanna Be Your Everything,
Love Is Thicker Than Water and Shadow Dancing.
Everlasting Love and Time Is Time.
Freddie Mercury had Andy do high note tracks for Queen. Andy didn't have a problem hitting the high notes. He was a Gibb. Died way too young.
So sad he died so young at age 30. Loved him so much. React to his first song “I Just Want To Be Your Everything”.

Barry Gibb's baby twin! They even had matching birthmarks.
He was just 12 years younger than Barry. Barry wrote and produced his records.
'Everlasting Love' is his best song, simply divine!
That’s what it actually says on Andy’s headstone…..”An Everlasting Love”😢.
yessss

Audio only: "Everlasting Love" by Andy Gibb. *another hit for him.

Andy was my favorite. RIP Andy💜
If you like his voice and sound you should check out "DESIRE" my personal favorite, obviously produced by his brothers, and that is pure magic.
I'm so happy for Andy that so many people have come to find his music through these reaction videos. He's deserved a victory for so long. 🙏🏼
Gibb = Excellence like no other

Why don't they make such ultra-smooth, super-groovin', catchy pop songs like this anymore?
Mostly because no one has the talent anymore. When someone does remake a song they screw it up!
Welcome to the Andy Fan Club!
Love your reaction. Try "I just want to be your everything" and "Don't throw it all away "
From UK Top of Pops show react to song "Love Is Thicker Than Water" by Andy Gibb.
Yep brothers backup!!
Amo a família Gibbs, são muito talentosos!👋👋👋👋👋👋🤩🤩🇧🇷
I love when you give the o face spunk
Another song that is not as well known is Desire. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Oh D man. Love this song. Need to checkout After dark song as well.
Andy was very very talented in his own right. I had a huge crush on Andy. awesome reaction.
Every time I hear this song's chorus, reminds me of Mr Garrison!
He used to host solid gold dancers with Dianne Warwick
I LOVE ANDY!!!! He was definitely eye candy!!! But that voice!!! Mini Barry!!! Love all 4 Gibb brothers!!!! RIP Andy, Maurice, and Robin!!!

Thanks for the correction:)
Still have my andy 45s!!!
You cracked me up. I adored him in high school. He’s a hottie and can BLOW! PLEASE do Starlight. Makes me cry. It’s so special!!!!!!
I had his albums on 8 track! 🤣
Yes. His brothers are singing backup.
Robin & Maurice didn't sing on Shadow Dancing. Backing vocals were by Andy, Barry & John Sambataro.

Such a smooth song, love it.
He died before he was to join his brothers and become an official Bee Gee.

The strings: da-da-daaah is very like what’s on If I Can’t Have You, Yvonne Elliman.
"Everlasting Love" pllease.
The performance was lip-synched but it was for a television show so the audience cheers at the end were real.
Ok Derek, now react to his brother Robin Gibb's Juliet. It was a big hit in the 80s
Great review please react to Desire and I just want to be your everything

He has this gay aura, I love it. And the song is perfection.
Mr Garrison,a lady killer.
