Now we have a case mx200 pulling a case 6tie square baler. As a loader we have a cat 924g I believe. We also use our trusty old backhoe with a pair of homemade bale forks.
I first saw round bales in the early Sixties ( when we had a A-C delaship ) but couldn't understand the advantages of them even when they were small enough to handle by hand . Well you have to buy 80 extra acres to turn around with one of those with the 9n you just crank the steering wheel and lock up a brake and turn on a dime
Hi, do anyone know what that cabin on the 2wd Deere is about? I have never seen anything like that before, the whole tractor actually looked odd, the fuel tanks and so on as well
That is a good question. It is a John Deere factory cab. I think it is for vineyards and orchards. The farm upgraded from 6125Rs to 6130Rs this year. They had four regular cabs on the 125s and this years 130s have two with regular cabs and two with narrow cabs. They are an interesting variation. They do have air-conditioning as it was 95 degrees out when I filmed this. .
@@bigtractorpower Thanks for the info. After reading your response, I remembered seeing those different cab configurations on some Case tractors in a video a few months ago. Again, thanks for the great farming vids!
@@bigtractorpower If they put a clear top in them they would look like greenhouse. You could also call them the new "coffin cabs" like the old Allis' cabs. If they didn't have AC you would die in those things. Like a dog in a car.
If I had that much hay to bale Id use the John Deere round bale accumulator so you can pretty well leave all your bales in one area and not have to drive all over to find em all after costs probley a little over $20,000.00 cam watch in on you tube its called the John Deere plus 2 bale accumulator

Very cool baling. The 4020 is the vintage of the 24T and 346 baler.
bigtractorpower The 4020 was our tractor. A 1968 John Deere 4020. Are you thinking the 4020 was a baler?
I first saw round bales in the early Sixties ( when we had a A-C delaship ) but couldn't understand the advantages of them even when they were small enough to handle by hand . You can keep round bales outside. They shed most of the rain unlike squares
Today's big square bales are great for hauling and inside storage but the baler cost is something like 4 times that of a round baler.
Big square balers are also more complex and cost more to maintain.

we use a 4020 on a sickle mower and a dc-4 case on a wheel rake ~ come make a video of that
They make it all look so easy, must take a lot of experience and skill to use all that equipment
It’s a busy operation. After the baling in this field they applied NH3 and planted sorghum.

Gonna be raking hay with my ford 9n in a day or two
Very nice. What brand of rake do you use?
An old Ferguson DEO-20 three point side delivery rake
That's more in line of how I raked hay growing up. See 300hp tractors pulling round balers seems out of place to me.
