For those loose spots is better to stick the needle almost verticaly (parallel to the dread), pulling the hair up, towards the scalp. Almost like back combing but with the needle and hair by hair. If you stick the needle perpendicular to the dread in that kind of spots, it gets tighter, but thinner :( There is a video here on youtube from the channel "skillteacher" called "thickening dreads with crochet hook" that shows really well the process that I've mentioned. Have a nice day! :)
I'm not sure if anyone already said this but crochet is pronounced crow-shay :) I hope you don't think I'm being rude, my intent is to be helpful :) Loved your video!
Hi, Elise! Once again you looked gorgeous. Really amazing. How can you be so beautiful? The color of your hair combines perfectly with the color of your eyes. I know danes and specially you don't handle praises so well, but we love your personality too... It's awesome to see a good person like you making so much success, bringing to us relaxation, the cozy ambience, the tenderness of your voice. I feel better when I see your videos... It's kinda a therapy to me, haha! Kisses from Brazil. PS.: I would love to see you singing and playing ukulele again.
I've been waiting to get my dreads for over two years I still have to wait one more year until I'm 18 because my parents won't let me but I'm so excited and your dreads are beautiful and you're a beautiful person 😍
Wow! I can't believe it's three years already 😊 I have followed you for ages this means - love your videos! I started my dreads around the same time as you but I brushed mine out at one year. I sectioned badly and the pulling was pulling out hair 😔 I miss them every day! P.S a crochet hook is said like 'crow-shay' ...I think! Haha 🤗
Completely understand the Bob Marley reference..My dreads are getting on 17 years old..Just a decent wash every few days and your set..Took a few years to get them the way I like..Separating the dreads can hurt so check every few days if you do not multiple tails..
I've had mine for over 5 years now, and man I would love to have hair as thick as yours so I could take a few out at the front and have some extra loose hair - the loose hair you grab at the side first and use the conditioner on is pretty much the same volume of hair that I have on my entire head ;)
You're adorable! This was helpful :) Btw, croquet is the sport they play with flamingos in alice in wonderland. Crochet (the ch is soft here bc it's French) is like knitting but with the one hooked needle. 🌹
I love your hair!!! My question is ... Are natural or synthethic extensions? I hope your answer cause I want add extensions to my dreads, but, I don't know with what kind of extension. Thanx!! 😊😊
I was literally fixing up my dreadlocks the same way as soon as this popped up in my notifications. lol I've been super lazy on mine for the last 3 years :/ Mine are around 6 years old.
I do love your loose hair look with your dreadlocks. Looks great for a female, but unfortunately I'm a guy so I'm not sure I could pull it off like you.
I am planning on getting dreads ♡ Also have you used that mixture people recommend(baking soda, vinegar and honey) to clean your dreads? If so, what do you think?
Don't put baking soda and honey in your hair you can use vinegar water down to reset your pH balance you want your dreads to be clean and honey and baking soda is not cleaning. if you want something to start your Locs with try lock pepper from Dreadhead.com
I live in a country where its hard to get stuff like that delivered legally :/ But i know how to start dreads, Im just wondering about some home made stuff is all. And honestly baking soda and honey sounded fishy to me but thats what Ive been hearing
I've had dreads for 7 years now I've tried just about everything you're better off just letting them be. wash them regularly and do palm rolling or crochet needle. When uses regular plain water your hair likes to tighten better and a lock better. Just don't leave them wet for long periods of time it can cause mold
I've had most of my dreadlocks for at least 6 months now and I really want to add extensions but I am afraid of them falling out when I wash my hair. Do you think it's best to wait for your dreads to mature before you add extensions or is it harder to crochet them through when they are mature?
I was just wondering if your extensions are are real or synthetic and did you make them yourself or buy them from a shop? thank you for always making awesome videos!
Hi Elise! Super vidéo! Your dreadlocks looks super good!! I have a question. Is that ok to let some lose hair in front of my head if I get dreadlocks? Or this will be a bit weird? Sorry if the english is not perfect, i'm french so... ^^ Thank you so much for everything! I hope you're okay and you're happy ! :)
I have my dreads for nearly two month now and they appear to be easy to maintain. But there are some splitting up at the roots, did something like this happen to you in the begining of your dreadjourney and what should i do?
I've dreaded and undreaded my hair three times. I have been thinking of dreading them again, but I want to have some loose hair with them. What do you recommend? Thanks!
I just did my dreads last week. I love them. I did this little braid...it goes dread at scalp to about 1 inch down then a braid, then the last bit of the section is dreaded...should I take it out and just dread it? I thought t was cute but will that dread become weak over time in that spot?
It's a bit funny to me how people are pointing out how to pronounce crochet but are still calling them needles, lol they are called crochet (crow-shay) hooks!
I'd love to know how much of the top of your hair isn't dreaded. I have my full head done and am wanting to take some of the top out but not sure how much.
My dreadlocks are only 3 months old. When would you say it's safe to decorate your dreadlocks and color them? Also, crochet is pronounced cro shay. The t is silent. The ch becomes sh, if you're interested.
Why would they not be safe to decorate? I put pearls and yarn in my hair instantly. With colouring I'm not at all experienced... I bleached some of my dreads when they were like 2-3 months old and haven't had a problem, but my hair has always been quite thick, strong and easy to handle, so...
Elise, we know that red/strawberry blonde is your natural hair color but u are clearly 'enhancing' it with hair dye, henna or something else -- no one is stupid here. But since this is the second time you've ignored my question I guess u want to keep it a secret ;)
The camera lens probably makes it seem brighter than it is. Also, the hair around the front of the face is usually a lot lighter than the rest, especially if you're a blonde, ginger or a lighter brown. Most of my hair is auburn-ginger, but around my face it's a lot less deep and more orange. I doubt she's enhancing it and keeping it a secret, calm down.
i really want to try synthetic dreads but i'm not sure yet...do they require the same maintenance? i would think not since they're fake, but showering might be weird or difficult...
crochet HAS to be done sooo carefully with skill. you dont want a bunch of broken hairs thatll constantly stick out making them feel prickly. :totally friendly advice, not do this or your wrong: strong roots and they can last a lifetime :)
You're adorable. "crochet needle"....it's pronounced just like "crow, like the bird, then shay. crow-shay"...probably some lazy, French nonsense influencing English hehehe. but you say it how you feel like because it's adorable, and language is vast and beautiful.
I have Dreads for about 8 months now. And I can remember only one bad thing: when people see you and your hair, the first thing what they will think is that you smoke weed and stuff like that. It doesn't happen often to me, but I can remenber about 3 times when a situatuion like this came up. And I have to apologize for my english as well, I am from germany:)

I dont want to be conceited or somethin, just a guide my luv . Never ever put a straight hair into deadlock . First ! - tangle loose hair , backcomb and then crochet into dread. And never ever twist hair around deadlock . dreadlocks.ie
This girl is so beautiful that it does not matter what hairstyle she has. She can pull off any hairstyle.

I love the way you pronounce "Bob Marley".... :)
Your hair is absolutely stunning!
Thank you for posting this. Your videos always make me feel happier. :)

You allways make my day.
I've had mine for over 5 years now, and man I would love to have hair as thick as yours so I could take a few out at the front and have some extra loose hair - the loose hair you grab at the side first and use the conditioner on is pretty much the same volume of hair that I have on my entire head ;)
I need that fucking jumper. The amount of times I get called Bob.. and heaven forbid if a Bob Marley song comes on if im in the facility.
You're adorable! This was helpful :)

You should make shirts for people that don't have dreadlocks. :) I used to have a few dreads. They are just so itchy for me.
Hi Holly. How are you? I hope you are well and happy. Post more videos of your beautiful voice! Kisses from Brazil.
It's called locs, nothing dread about it
I do love your loose hair look with your dreadlocks. Looks great for a female, but unfortunately I'm a guy so I'm not sure I could pull it off like you.
I love your videos and your really lovely! Xx

By the time I'm seeing this video, 4 years have passed lol is the longsleeve still availible? Do you have others?
Love youre hair! I'm jelly

I love your hair!
I was totally thinking a deeper meaning to that shirt haha
lovely blanket there. Did you crochet it yourself?
Elise, have you ever started new dreads with the loose hair in back? Does it have to be a certain thickness to start a new dread?
I was just wondering if your extensions are are real or synthetic and did you make them yourself or buy them from a shop? thank you for always making awesome videos!

+KareneKat I brushed out 12 dreadlocks in the front, and I still have 60 left 😊

you can dye them and stuff and all at six months
Elise what method did you use to fix the growing hair? have a good day (:
my dreads are 3 years old as well. they are in need of attention and maintenance.
Where did you get that blanket?!
How did you do your dreads
I love your hair color...what kind of hair dye do u use?
i think its her natural
It's natural
Elise, we know that red/strawberry blonde is your natural hair color but u are clearly 'enhancing' it with hair dye, henna or something else -- no one is stupid here. But since this is the second time you've ignored my question I guess u want to keep it a secret ;)
she has dyed it before, but its not really enchanced from what i know

hi ! where did you by Your extensions ?
i really want to try synthetic dreads but i'm not sure yet...do they require the same maintenance? i would think not since they're fake, but showering might be weird or difficult...
Alexandrea Helburg I make synthetic dreads, feel free to contact me with questions on Facebook search gorgonlocks
Thank you.
There's no link to buy your shirt 😞 I want one!
Sorry, here it is www.moteefe.com/store/wonderlocks :)
crochet HAS to be done sooo carefully with skill. you dont want a bunch of broken hairs thatll constantly stick out making them feel prickly. :totally friendly advice, not do this or your wrong: strong roots and they can last a lifetime :)
can you have dreads when your hair is curly ??
yes
Dreadlocks tend to lock up easier when the hair is curly 😌
do you have synthetic or real hair extentions?
She has human hair extensions
youre such a sweetheart
Why haven't you locked your loose hair? Either way you look flawless
lol it's pronounced Crow-Shea like the black bird and the butter that's in lotion. It was cute to how you pronounced it
How's Luna?:)
You're adorable. "crochet needle"....it's pronounced just like "crow, like the bird, then shay. crow-shay"...probably some lazy, French nonsense influencing English hehehe. but you say it how you feel like because it's adorable, and language is vast and beautiful.
If you tie your hair when you go to sleep in a sleeping hat you won't have that much loose/frizzy hair.
crochet hahaha I love you
What color you like to dye your dreads next?
can we see the back of your hair please? l love the colour x
Did you have very worse situations, when people treat you bad because of your Dreads? Hope you know what I mean... I'm not that good in English :(
I have Dreads for about 8 months now. And I can remember only one bad thing: when people see you and your hair, the first thing what they will think is that you smoke weed and stuff like that. You pronounce it cro-shay 😌
Please stop saying Dreadlocks there is nothing dread about it
