- Reacting to old photos of my dreadlocks on my 4 years anniversary. I can't believe that I've had my dreads for four years, and in the other hand I don't remember the time before anymore.

I love that you never speak badly of your dread decisions. Even when you died it green, you just said "That's what I did". you just own them so well!
I love the commitment you took to your dreads! It bums me out to see so many people's journeys ending after 1 or 2 years. You are inspiration!
girl, you are everywhere on pinterest !! that's pretty cool
I think one of the reasons people like that picture, the one I've also seen everywhere, is because your smile looks so sweet with the dreadlocks. You look unmistakably hippie with the sweater and the head accessory, there's kindness and innocence in your face. Also, the light or sparse eyebrows is actually very sixties and seventies and gives the picture a natural vintage look! Happy birthday to your dreadlocks!
you looked lovely throughout the whole process, your hair color is so beautiful! my favorite look is your current one, I love the effect of the brushed out hair around your face 😊💕
Two years and four months free-form dreads here and I love them! Just having patience as they shrink and grow! It's been a great journey of patience! I love seeing them change constantly! One day they'll be as long and hopefully as BEAUTIFUL as yours! You are beautiful!
Aww Elise, you’re so happy and excited in this video, talking about your dreadlock journey 😊 true dread head ❤️
thanks for sharing your dreadlocks story it was fun looking at the timelines also happy birthday to your dreads as well peace and love ✌
They are so cool!! I made one dreadlock under my hair a little over a week ago, because I just wanted to! I really like it, and it is so funny to touch
Happy birthday Elise's dreads!! ❤
So beautiful video! You've grown up as a person like your dreads have matured as well. In all points in time, you looked simply gorgeous, in all combinations with your hair: short, long, natural color or not! Keep being this sweet human being, full of light and so adorable. I love you, Elise!
I love them! I am actually growing my hair out so I can get dreads. I think they are beautiful.
So fun to see everyone’s journey! My hair lost half it’s length when I first did my partial dreads without shrinkage so I imagine it’ll be different when I try again.
love this video Elise!!! Love your positive attitude as we all as your videos. Keep it up happy birthday to your hair. love from the united states
Thank you so much Lauren :)
your dreads look awesome!! :D happy birthday to them :D
happy B day dredies :P
wow also congrats on reaching 140k subs
You're so pretty! :)
liked your video before I even finished it yet.
I love your Boho look, that's why I started following you a couple of years ago!
I can't decide if I want to go to a salon or just start them myself. My boyfriend has had dreads for 4 years but his are very freeform and messy...I love your partial dreads so much! It's what I would love :)
This girl is honest and cute as!
Elise! I've pinned that pic of you on Pinterest, love that photo..i didn't even realize it was you! stay beautiful and kind❤
you're eye makeup is really pretty in this video too(:
Happy birthday to your babies! great video
:O goals!
It's funny how different you look from just a couple of years ago! Your dreads are so pretty and I looove your hair color
Yes it is weird :D haha
Thank you
love your videos 😘 keep it up
Hello Elise! I've had dreadlocks last summer, but they were not well done and they started to brush out naturally, some of them started to attack to each other so in october I decided to brush them out and I was so upset, because I wanted them for many years! I hope next time it will be better, changing the dreadmaker. Now I'm considering to make little braids, like the african ones for the summer.
Your dreadlocks are so beautiful and you look beautiful with them!
her accent is amazing
I love some of your hippy clothes in these photos
I love your dreadlocks. I tried to have them but my anxiety wasn't having it so I had to take the out less than a week of having them.
I like the loose hair with the dreadlocks i think it looks pretty neat
Beautiful Elise😘
Happy dreadavesary ive had mine for 3 years
Luv your hair color,,, :-) What do you use to dye your eye brows? They have nothing here in the states.
lovely video! are you still wearing extensions now?
Can you do a video on dying your eyebrows?
hey. Do you know a good hairstyle for dreadlocks on a wedding (not as the wife)?
How did you get your dreadlocks thicker? Mine have been thinning out down the bottom and I'm worried that they'll snap off at the ends
LOVE all your vids & watched EVERY one before i got mine so Im REALLY hoping you can help ;-) my hair was bleached & toned before i got dreads & they are a grey/ash colour, had dreadlocks installed & then I got extensions but the company my installer used for my human hair ext only had a blonde which was a white/light blonde colour...which obviously is REALLY noticeable & i want to use Manic Panic Blue Steel (which is on the rest of my head before dreading) on the rest to tone it BUT as my dreads & human hair ext are only 2 weeks old was wondering when is the SAFE time to do this (as you can tell Im stressing about my babies) & don't want to harm them in ANY way. Thanks so much for letting me ramble & ANY advice ANYONE can give me would be great.
Please answer what lip product you're wearing in this video it's perfect
I'm one year in on natural/ neglect I got my sides shaved so I can push them back so doesn't look to awful lol. I'm really hoping they tighten up a bit more tho still got some loops and bumps and haven't quite figure out the croquette yet.
How did you manage to skip the crazy loopy phase? Mine are 3 months old and CRAZY! Shrunk heaps too
Can you please tell me how long it takes for you to brush out just one dreadlock? I'm going to brush (comb) mine out...just kind of want an idea of approx how long it's going to take. Thank you!!! (I love your dreadlocks btw 🙂)
wow you have star wars hair (may the 4th) 💕
haha :D lovely comment
You should do a video where you react to one of your old videos😝
if you start your dreads with short hair but use extensions, do they still go through the maturing that longer haired dreads go through? i’m not sure if that makes much sense, but do your hair and the extensions keep the same look regardless of how old they are?
elise is a year older than I am, and her dreads are like 7 months older than mine. Crazy that we both decided to dread at the same age.
hello! you are very beautiful girl, and i'm in love with your hair but i have one question : do you wash your loose hair? (please answer me) good continuation! :)
Elise I would love to buy the top that you're wearing! I followed the link, is yours the women's one or are you wearing the mans style? Loved the video! Xxxxxx
+Lauren Conyer This T-shirt is the mens normal style, and it's an XL 😊
Cool video
❤❤
Hello Elise! I really want to get dreadlocks, but I don't have much hair. Do you think they would look good with thin, light, not very dense hair?
PS: I love your videos!
i think it depends on how thin your hair is. it can still look good and you'll have a lot more volume (depending on how they're done ofc) than without dreads but bear in mind that they won't be as thick or look as wild as the dreads of someone who has medium to thick hair.
you probably want to make smaller sections so you have more dreads and your head won't look too "empty". the dreads will be quite a bit thinner that way but it'll look a lot better. also if you don't crochet them but just let them be the dreads will usually become more voluminous.
hope i was able to help (even though i'm not elise ;))
anna nass Thank you very much for this answer! I'm probably going to give it a try. My idea was to crochet them, but I'm going to rethink it, since it is true they would look more voliminous not doing so. Thanks again! 😊
no problem :) and good luck with your journey!
Can't you have a giveaway for a tapestry?
may fav. 10:44 and now ♥
Ur so cute Elise! But why have u decided to brush some of them out, just to make a new look, or did the new baby hair grew very fast?:))
I brushed out some of them, because they hurt my scalp. Some of them were congo dreads, that were too heavy for my scap to carry. And some of the dreads were hanging with only a little hair left to carry them by my scalp. So they all had to go for a reason, but I like the look now.
In the beginning I thought I would redo them, but now I don't think I'll do that :)
oh that makes sense now, hope ur beautiful dreads won't hurt as much! lots of love from London! xx
They look beautiful. But I wonder if they aren't very heavy?
Nathalie mine are the same length, age and thickness as hers and the only time mine get remotely heavy is when they are wet (hair wash day) hope that helped answer your question!
Sarah Green Thank you! :)
What is your experience with henna? My dreadies are 1,5 month old and I used to cover some white hairs with it, but now I'm worried, that I won't be able to wash it out.....
I've tried Henna before, but noticed that henna is differently in texture, depending on the brand you are using. I used henna on my dreadlocks once, but it was in a texture that was pretty smooth so that is was easy to wash out. It was possible for me, and I think it would be, just notive the texture :)
Elise Buch yeah, with henna everything depends on the quality of the herbs... do you remember if the henna that you used was the natural, original one? (powdered herbs only)
khadi has really finely milled henna, i'm not sure if that's available where you live?
i've hennaed my dreads a few times and i haven't had any problems yet either. just make sure that you wash out the henna very thoroughly and that you always dry your dreads as quickly as possible & you should be fine!
anna nass yes, it is available :) I will probably start with the henna that I already have at home (it's a high quality henna, so it shouldn't be a problem)
I was just worried, that maybe she used a "kind of henna" product and it could not be the same
cool
My Dreadlocks are soon 8 months old. Time is running so fast
It really is, suddenly it has been 4 years :p
You should wear your hair up more often. The bun looks great. 👯♀️🐇
hello elise.
how did u learn English? ?
LOVE YOUR LOCKS ELISE. My husband said no to me when I asked for some, so sad.I dress BOHO HIPPY AND BEACHY. SO SAD. YOU ALWAYS LOOK BEAUTIFUL AND ANGELIC. I always get comments that I look like darryl Hannah from splash, as I have naturally spirally long curly hair.
Why does your husband decide what hairstyle you wear?
She has a short pause between every word...not hating❤️
wow so weird to see you with black clothes not that it does not fit you i'm just not used to
Very bad
loly Alaa eh, your comment is like a 2/10, it’s not exactly “very bad.” not great, but not *very* bad.
