This video couldn’t have come at a better time- I just loc’d my hair over the last week or so! I would love to see dread styling videos, like how to do that side braid/plait in the picture at 3:05, how to tie in scarves, etc. and maybe where to buy dread beads and accessories! Thanks for these tips on new locs! And happy birthday to you 💕
I got partial dreads about two month ago... from watching all your previous videos beforehand, I ordered the Nag Champa Conditioning Oil and the Nag Champa Tightening Spray from Dollylocks :-) I use the oil on my extentions and the spray on my natural locks.... I'm super pleased
I actually condition my dreads every time I wash them. But I also rinse with apple cider vinegar and water. Also, do NOT apply oil when hair is dry. Oil is a sealant, and if you don't add water you are sealing in dryness instead of moisture and run the risk of drying your dreads, which can make them break off. Apple cider vinegar with water is a natural conditioner as well which helps keep out mold and build up!
Not only will conditioner have residue, it began to unravel my dreads in the middle! Needless to say I didn’t use it very long. Now I’m working on crocheting the loops that came out.
We have similar hair in the fact that we both have partial dreads mines are just a bit shorter. You should do a video of a few styles you can do with them! Its fun for me because i feel i have a different look everyday and i wanted to see if you have any looks that i havent tried just yet!
I absolutely love all of your videos, can't wait to see how your new dreads are doing. Got mine about the time you did yours the second time. I'd like to know how often do you have to crochet them? Or do you only palmroll and condition them (with the aloe vera gelly) from time to time? And for today is the 2nd of May : I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart, stay so wonderful positive and happy as you seem to be. Big hugs and love to you, lovely Elise ❤️
When i had my dreads put in, lavender oil and water sprayed onto my scalp was a lifesaver for an irritated, itchy scalp. Hope that tip helps for anyone that doesn't want to spend a bunch of $$$.... Dollylocks is pretty awesome though....
Does dolly locks carry conditioner in the nag champa scent for non dread heads? I wanna get the shampoo/ conditioner (if they have it) and smell like incense 😭😍😂
I was a dreadhead before but since summer od 2016 i have pixie cut instead. I feel kinda sad because I love this hairstyle same as I love chelsea cut BUT I feel like I should not wear them because I'm not skinhead girl or rasta hippie kind of person. I have really big respect for subcultures and expressing feelings by hairstyle or just everyday fashion choices, so I feel it's not right. I would name myself a 90's goth girl and I don't like when somebody "is" goth just for fashion...I don't want to hurt someones feelings by wearing dreadies not knowing much about roots of coulture.
Anna Leyland Depending on your hair texture/porosity, your hair can just dread up by itself over time. With straighter, less porous hair, it has trouble dreading, so maintenance is needed every few months. I only do maintenance about twice a year or as needed to pull hair that has escaped back into the sections (with crochet hooks) since I have curly, porous hair that likes to dread by itself. You can watch dread maintenance videos if you'd like a visual.
Dont use all the unnecessary hair products itll actually make it a longer process. Plus if she can brush out her "dreads" with a comb they were never actually dreads just crocheted hair ropes. Fully mature dreads are are tight and hard. You shouldn't be able to even stick a comb in them
If you’re gonna ignore black voices when they tell ITS WRONG TO WEAR LOCKS at least call them Locks. NOT DREAD LOCKS. DREAD LOCKS IS AN OFFENSIVE TERM.

Etsy is a good place for beads, spiral locs to tie them up, and other accessories. Though I would let them mature before using them.

How many dreadlocks do you have?
When your hair grows, how do you make the hair at your roots into dreadlocks? Sorry I probably worded that really badly lol

I’ve had my dreads for 4 years now and have never done anything to the root to make it dread. It does it by itself over time.
den binkie var det sødeste jeg længe har set
