Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 лют 2021
- In this lesson I will teach you the Czech Vowels Pronunciation. How to pronounce long & short vowels in the Czech language, what they are, how to use them and why we even have them. We will also look at diphthongs (ou, au, eu) and how these are different to the same diphthongs in the English language.

Oh, that is my beautiful brave woman! This lady is a founder of so many organizations, plus she is a Charles University PhD specialized in teaching languages, so this gonna be the best "learn Czech" channel on UA-cam!
Thank you, Eli, so sweet of you!!!
I have been learning czech using duo lingo for the past 120 days now and just found this channel as the perfect explainatory addition, thank you very much for what you do, you're awesome! :)
Dikuji vám super
I'm from Serbia and hire is hard to find Czech language lessons so this is amazing for me, especially since I need A1 knowledge because of the possibility of finding a job so thank you very much for making this channel
Děkuji, Nikola! Fingers crossed for you working here! :)
Pomaže Bog brate Nikola. Jeste odličan kanal.

That’s so sweet! There is a new video ať leader every Monday so i hope you will enjoy all 🥰
Amazing explanation! Looking forward to the next one.
Thanks! Hope you like it next time again ;)
Thanks for the lesson, Katerina. I've found that there's even a longer version of the Czech vowel sounds. Whenever Czechs say gól, it is pronounced much louder and longer: góóóóóóóóóóóóóóól! ;)
HAHAHA that's so true!
Haha! Brilliant
Gooooooool!!!
You teach very well !
Content is enough and clear as well
thank you!! happy to hear

I've just started to learn Czech and I've found your channel, it's amazing! Thank you so much
Hey Lisa! That’s incredible to hear! Can you also share where did you come accross my channel? :)
@@CzechWithKaterina I was looking for UA-cam channels to learn Czech, so I searched for "learn Czech" and selected "channels" on the filter option, then I found your channel. Also I want to say that I thought that it's pretty interesting the sound of the vowels in Czech because they've the same sounds as in portuguese (my native lang.) and the words of the beginning of the videos has the same meaning for us as well :)
@@l1saz thank you for the info.
And Yeah, one of my Portuguese friends was actually telling me something similar. That will make your learning process easier for sure.
do u speak czech yet
That really helps! Hopefully, you continue with this. Dekuji! :)
So nice to hear. :) as I see it’s helping I am very much gonna continue! ;)

I love your tipe of teaching thank you so much 🥰
You are amizing and beautiful Děkuji mnohokrát ❤️
Thanks for the informative lesson Kateřina, and for your positive energy and cheerfullness ☺ could you please tell me what's the difference between a long u with a ' and a long u with an o on top ? Thanks !
Hello PJ! Thanks for your kind comment and the question. The difference is only in graphics: Ú is used only in the beginning of a word, Ů is used anywhere in the middle or end of a word :)
Thanks for great lesson, I really liked this one. Im from Ukraine, and want to learn Czech for communicate with my new classmates :)
Great! Hope my videos help!!!

Ahoj!
Hello Kateřina! 🙂
I appreciate your work here. Please, continue like this.
I want to ask, is there any good test online where we can find out which level of Czech language we already know? Thanks in advance! 🙂
Awww děkuju moc, Marina!
Actually, I can't recommend a really good and reliable test right now that would be fully online. There are many online but to find out the A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2 level...? There only are printed materials that you can purchase and try the tests, only there are no speaking exercises there so it's never really complete. The only saurse that I think is valid and you can rely on it is from the company, that actually makes the A1, A2 tests for Permanent residence in The Czech Republick and there you can test yourself online a bit:
cestina-pro-cizince.cz/trvaly-pobyt/a1/en/priprava-na-zkousku/modelovy-test/
Or this is their PDF version of tests for example for free and you can download it: cestina-pro-cizince.cz/trvaly-pobyt/a1/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/09/brozura2020_online_web.pdf
Děkujeme za tato opravdu užitečná videa.. Je možné přidat videa, která obsahují užitečné rozhovory pro nás u lékaře.. v bance.. v hotelu.. na vládních místech? Děkuji mnohokrát.
Ahoj Aya! Děkuji moc za typ. Udělám, co bude v mých silách. :)
Zatím vás v tomto kurzu ještě čekají česká verba (slovesa), a potom už si můžeme začít více hrát s tématy. :)
Hyyy I am learning Thank you
Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions!
really worthy video mam.
Thanks, glad to hear.
I want more good video like this ❤️❤️❤️
I will be airing one in a few days. :) Stay tuned!!
Dĕkuji moc
taky děkuji :)
Děkuju Kateřina, After English, Czech and other slavic languages are my favorite languages in Europe because slavic languages are mostly free word order languages. They have many grammatical ending that makes the language extremely flexible and it was very useful to make rhymes in song and meter in poem. After learning Czech, Polish and Russian are my next languages to learn. By the way, I even tried to learn Old Church Slavonic language, but it grammar are very old and very complex and sounding system are very hard. In my opinion I think that OCS may be more harder than modern slavic languages. It letters are completely different from modern cyrillic alphabets. Czech can be difficult for me because I am a beginner but I will learn till I fluent.
Greenting from Brasil 🇧🇷. Obrigado!
Ahoj André! Greetings from The Czech Republic! :)
I just started learning Czech a few months ago on doulingo and to help I just started learning from watching UA-cam videos. Starting with your 1st video, I downloaded your worksheet, but there was more words in this video than on the worksheet. I was wondering if I could get the original worksheet or is it supposed to have less words in the worksheet?
Hi. Where can I find the transcripts for doing the exercises? Dekuji.
Dobrá práce ;-)
Děkuji, Honzo. :)
There's a mistake in the memrise course on lesson 1, where the voice says "bar" but the answer is "Praha"
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you! Thank you so much for the feedback :) I found the mistake and fixed it, thanks again!
What is the app called?
hello ucitelka katerina! it is really good class for learning czech for me hehe i am gonna practice learning czech with your classes, good luck to me! na schledanou!

Thanks for the lesson. Online vocabulary link is not working. Could you please share the updated one ?
Hi, which exactly URL are you trying? The one I see in the description ( bit.ly/CzechWithKateřina ) seems to be working for me...?
@@CzechWithKaterina It's working now. Thanks

Great! :) keep going
Ahoj!! Thank you for the lesson! I am going to Prague in November with my marching band and want to learn enough to get by! I know a lot of people speak English there but like with France I’d assume they’ll like it more if you attempt the mother tongue :)
Dear Katerina, could you please share with us your recommendations about best books to learn from as a beginner learner? Thank you! 🙏❤️
Great question!
I honestly think that in a Czech course that you have with a teacher there is New Czech Step by Step that is the top of what there is for Czech or Čeština Express... those are the best if the teacher combines it with more materials, like Basic Czech and many more.
For self studying, it is better to get some textbook with a full key, like Communicative Czech, Contemporary Czech or Czech, en Essential grammar, Colloquial Czech... I am not really fond of only one of them in particular, as they all have their pros and cons, but they are useful and with the right persistency, you will get there with any of these.
@@CzechWithKaterina great 🙏 Deki moc ❤️
@@mahmoudhussein8222 Není zač! (see: díky*)
Well... I started Russian this year... And i already feel well on this. Also, i heard a lot about Czech and the similarity with Russian and Romance Languages. Anyway, i'm excited with the idea of learning this beautiful language.
hi 👋 thank you
Ahoj Kaci, boží video, určitě prepošlu příteli, aby se konečně po 2 letech naučil základy😁
Jenom bych chtěla říct, ze za ten překlad krému by bylo asi lepší napsat do závorek ze se jedná a např. Facial cream or cake filling, aby si nemysleli, že se bavíme smetaně. ;)
Jinak tě moc podporuju v tom co děláš! Jen tak dál ❤️
Díky Šárko! To je super nápad. Jinam než do titulků už to nezvládnu vložit, ale pokusím se to propašovat alespoň tam a do handoutu. ;)
@@CzechWithKaterina I thought it was smetaně, hehehe
Goal znamená gól , ale i brána / branka ( jenom na hřišti - ne vrata /vrátka ve zdi / plotu .)

With pleasure :) if you have some questions along the way, type them here
Pozdrav iz Srbije! You are great! I decided to learn a language that is similar to Serbian and among all Czech sounds the cutest! And because a language is the best learned when you use it, what do you recommend? I think I should start with a story in Czeck. Is there any online source of short stories in Czech that I could use. I think having text online I can use google translate to spell it and translate it if needed. I am doing this just for fun and it is fun already. Please, I am waiting for your recommendation. Sve najbolje želim!
I Dejan!
Good choice! Serbian will for sure help you a lot.
For the most productive learning I recommend a combination of things that will be the most convenient for you:
in person or online lessons
if online lessons you can combine with a conversation lessons from time to time with some Czech teacher
listen and translate songs (suggestions of two songs pretty good for beginners: My máme rádi víno, Krásný je vzduch)
books for beginners:
Jiřina Bartošová: Perný den A1 level
Karel Čapek: O pejskovi a kočičce A1 level
Lída Holá: Pražské legendy A2 level
Martina Trchová: Brněnské legendy A2 level
UA-cam channel: Because Czech is Cool (practical listening), Czech with Tereza Enjoy, learn... (this one I would suggest for a lot of practice of random topics)
I can only see the one video after subscribing and clicking the below link on 2 different browsers?
That’s right, Justin, I am just starting up but there is more to come... will be making one new one every week :)
