Hello
Great teaching
Ma'am you're amazing .When you're pronouncing each letters.Its easy to catchup.Thank you soo much.Keep going ma'am💯
Thank you, Muhammad! 🤞🏻 fingers crossed for your Czech!
So comforting to know that d', t' or n' sounds (like most other consonants) exist in Czech (I believe in Slovak too) not just in Hungarian.😌😌😌 The letters are a bit different (d'=gy, t'=ty, n'=ny) but they mark pretty much the same sound.
That "Ř" sound however demands some practicing. We don't have that sound😮🧐 The most "difficult" sound in Hungarian is d' (or "gy"). Western Europeans still tend to struggle with the latter one as it doesn't really exist in their language (nor anything similar).
Great lesson! Thank you
Thanks for your comment. If any questions, let me know. :)
Very helpful. Beautifully paced. Thank you.
Není zač! :) Děkuju! :)

I’m using your app and lot of words don’t have sound? Is that how it’s supposed to be. 😢 I’m on lesson 2 and a good 10 words just in lesson two don’t have sound. Even though there is the 🔊 button :(
Ahoj!! Great Lesson, the sound of consonants very much similar to Hindi Language (India) so didI don't face any difficulty in picking up. Things are pretty much easy with good guidance. Dekuju!!
Dekuju, Shival! :) I am happy to hear!!
Ahoj. I am learning with you too. Dobrý den 🙂
Ahoj, Mari! Děkuju! I am glad!!! :) x
Just trying to learn Czech from last one month 😬 I really want to surprise my boyfriend some day with speaking in Czech with him😁
I wish you all the best in that journey Moly! :) You can do it!
one of my friends who speaks czech reccomended for ř to basically say the word "rush" until you make it ř
that's great! just make sure you use the rolling R, but not the English version of R, when you say the rush.
5:40 Ť nenajdeme v AJ? A jak vyslovujete v AJ slovo "tube"? Já ho tam slyším :)
Tak slyším špatně :) Je to TJ, což je podobné Ť, ale není to Ť.
It is strange, the for Hungarians is very easy to pronounce almost all the special Czech letters (maybe except ř), even though we don't much in common with any Slavic language.
Wow cool! I am not familiar with Hungarian, but maybe the sounds that are in your language can be pretty similar... do you have all the soft sounds except for Ř? Or do you think it might be that Hungarian is so rich on sounds that it is simply easy for you guys to learn any other language..? :)))
Is there any specific rule to use ú and ů... How to they differ when spelling....
ú - used only at the start of the word
Could you please explain how the tongue moves in each letter?
Thank you Mina for the interest! :) well that would be for a long long new video with Fonetics. But I will think if I can manage to shorten it a little and make a video like that in future. :)
Ahoj, dekuji
czyli dla Polaka Ř będzie rż/ rrzy, jak w słowie "rżeć" na przykład o koniu??
Dobrý den! Jsem z Brazílie a učím se česky protože miluji svůj jazyk. Tak, mám pochyby. O souhlásky v... sorry, I'll have to shift to English... my Czech is not good enough 😪. In many recordings I can swear I hear V pronounced as B!
I hear Báclav, or rozbod, instead of Václav or rozvod. I know v will devoice to f (Václaf) and d to t (rozvot). But I can't find anyone to explain why I hear B instead of V - and this is not the devoicing of the consonant. On the other hand, when you pronounce your Vs I don't hear B... can you help, please? Maybe I'm wrong and just can't hear the sounds well...
Really?? That is the first time I hear about this issue.
If you hear someone say Václavské náměstí or babička, doesthat sound the same???
I recognize the description "Ď is D but softer" from other languages, but it never made sense to me. To me, it sounds like "DJ". Why is it not described that way, is the sound actually different?
Hi Chris,
yes, that's exactly the reason - DJ would be actually pronounced differently in Czech than Ď.
1:31 hard
2:49 soft
5:54
8:31
10:37
Do you have any questions, Genetenz?
What's the difference between r with accent vs z with accent?
Great question! It sounds different and each one is used in different words. Check out my video for details on how to pronounce and how to use it. :)

I am surprised that It wasn't hard to learn because some of the sounds we have in Sweden and I could pronouns most of it thanks to my russian too
Oh Sweden! ANd with russian combination and English!?!
You will learn and progress really fast!
for those of us who speak Spanish and are not musicians, it is difficult to distinguish these sounds because they seem very similar to each other. T and Ť ď and ť ž and j , I hope you can create a video to focus on them..Pleease 😀😀
Ahoj Juane!
I would be very happy to! I am not a bit more focused on getting the whole course until the level A1 done but I will put it on my todo list! Thanks for the feedback. If you have more i am happy to hear.
It's written hojek instead of hokej :)
Oh you are right! :)))) missed that one ;)
Funfact: the hook used on č,ď,ě,ň,ř,š,ť,ž is called a caron in english and its pronounced
The same as the name karen
Really? Never heard about that
It's banifical for all forginer,Iam from India ,I want to learn Czech for PR and better communication with people
Děkuji! :)
As a slavic,i can say most of them mainly correctly, but the ř is killing me faster than the people saying that our salty milk (кисело мляко) is yogurt
its too difficult to pronounce the consonant " ř " 😅
It can be hard yes :) maybe try these exercises for it: ua-cam.com/video/v0MYU3CBmXU/v-deo.html
mam i want to learn but i don't know english ,and i live in czech republic ,mam i want to study directly from you if you have any chance to teach please tell me mam
Hi what language do you speak?
I am now a bit too busy and not taking on new students for privates, unfortunately.
Is Ř irritating even for native speakers
I would say not at all :-)))
Here is what i would pronounce ř i would say it as a hr sound like rh is welsh
And plus i wanna sound unique
I would say your name as KateHRina
Sounds really unique! Why not!
Why does your pronunciation of w sound like the labiodental approximant like the в in ukrainian
Ť is pronounced in UA-cam, at least according Google Translate audio record is it so. But it sounds really stupid so I say it normally TUB not ŤJŮŮB.
Good point :) YOUŤUBE or YOUTube both possible
"youťůb" is just Czenglish, same as "ňů jork"
Ahoj!
Ahoj Chloe!
Beautiful and funny girl😊😉
thank you, mohamed
Who came here to learn how to pronounce Ř?
