21 for 21. I did my ground school w/ MZeroA, and I remember well the term "get there-itis", and that just about all GA flights are optional. I leave in the SF Bay Area where we have a lot of GA airports, so I always have several as points I fly over or near along the way to my destination.

At the age of 72 I am past the point in my life where obtaining a PPL is pretty well behind me. But I still get a lot of mileage out of these videos by applying the knowledge to my sessions in MS Flight Sim. I know it isn't quite the same without the feel of gravity and momentum on your body and the aircraft, but it is still great hand eye co-ordination exercise. Any exercise that helps focus all your senses like flying does just has to be good for you. Besides...in Flight Sim it can always be the perfect day, perfect conditions and perfectly fun in your favorite aircraft. I love the Savage Cub for just fun flying and touch and goes, and the Grumman Goose for exploring the virtual world created by the FS team..as real as it gets. Keep up the great videos guys and gals!

21/21. Very good advice, Jason. While IFR alternates have specific requirements, VFR alternates do not, but your recommendations are excellent. I remember on one of my flights from southeast Kansas to AirVenture, I had to stop at an alternate airport short of KOSH due to weather. That airport, like you suggested, was just slightly off my flight path. I stayed overnight and made it to Oshkosh the next day. Thank heavens for alternates!

21 for 21 great recommendation. Funny how in IFR training you learn the basics of picking an alternate when necessary when in reality the picked alternate is to fill out paperwork. Just as in VFR knowing where to land at all times for an emergency this is a great rule for IFR and should become more of the required training. Nice Job!

I always liked being super prepared on my cross countries, I had the information my alternates listed in my flight log, frequencies, pattern altitude, etc. just to be as prepared as possible. Thanks for another great video!
