Got one. I charged it and flew the same day. I'm very happy with how user friendly it is. I'm a beginner but the control systems made everything so easy to use.

Just back in after first flight with the Karma. I have had it a few weeks after getting it for an offer I could not refuse but with work shifts did not have time to use it. I took it out today with my DJI Spark. Did a flight with Sparky which was as always then fired up the Karma. Awesome flight, it was off like a rocket and flew so smooth. I was gonna sell it and get a Mavic but after that few minutes flight I think I will keep it.

Great video, thank you for making this. I'm new to the Drone world but bought the Karma as my first and love it! I'd like to know how to change the date and also wondering, when you play the video
captured, thru the "Quik" software, you can add Gauges to the screen and it shows "FT" and "Elevation Gain". Is the "FT" based on the altitude from sea level and the elevation gain is the altitude from where the drone took off".

I know this was some time ago but im looking to buy one, i heard the karma has been known to just fly away, is that true? Also if there was multiple people flying drones in same area would their controller take over mine by mistake? I know dji is better i hear but i also am buying the gopro 6 so it only makes sense to buy karma. I just want to make sure i dont lose it

You can expect about 18-20 minutes of flight time. In cold weather, it may be a bit less.

Yes, you can control the tilt while flying.

The gimbal allows you to tilt the camera up and down. To pan left or right, you rotate the drone.
There is a home button on the controller that automatically brings Karma back to you or the launch spot.
And, yes, the camera can be used in the gimbal on the Karma Grip (which comes with the drone) for handheld shots when you don't want to fly your drone..

I noticed that the GoPro has no cover for the type c ports on the side when taken out of the karma harness. Does it come with a cover in the package so that you can use the camera independently under water?
Yes, it comes with the side door so you can use your GoPro normally when it's not in the harness.
What can I do to avoid the Aerial Exclusion Zone in Mexico? Because there are no airports and the zone of restriction is very large. ? What I can do?
nothing you can do, you gotta find a place where theres no restricted zones

Yes, you can use all of the modes available on a GoPro. You can change modes while the drone is airborne using the touch screen on the controller.

You didn't mention anything about calibrating? I have calibrated the drone at home, took it to the park then it has asked to calibrate again. We did it again and still didn't work. Took it home started it outside the house and it worked. Dowloaded the map, took it to the same park still didn't work. Keeps on asking to move to another area or calibrate. HELP so frustrating.
Calibrating is pretty simple and the Karma Controller lets you know when the drone needs calibration. If you are experiencing magnetic interference, it's often caused by a metal object too close to your drone. Are you trying to launch from a concrete area at the park? Sometimes they put rebar in the concrete and it interferes with your drone. Try moving to a grass or dirt area and see if that makes a difference.

The Karma drone works with the Hero 5 Black or the Hero 4 Black or Silver. To use it with the Hero 4 cameras, you just need to switch out the harness that holds the camera, which is pretty easy.

No, a GoPro has to be used with Karma.
as the Go Pro is with my friend now, he ask me to try just the drone first, he need to use the Go Pro, that's why i can't fly it and i wonder why
I received one of these as a gift for Christmas. Finally had a nice day to try it out. Had some supervision from a friend that is obsessed with these kind of things. We went around the yard a few times was kind of thinking maybe these things are all they are cracked up to be.
On the third auto land about 6ft from the spot it just took off and ran into a shed about 100ft away! It's about 26ft tall and it hit right on the peak. Hit the ground in pieces... kinda scary and glad it didn't hit anyone!
Has anybody ever heard of this happening? I dont have anyway of proving it and dont know if should complain to the company or if this is just a one of those lesson learned things...
Sounds pretty sketchy and definitely not normal! You should contact GoPro and let them know. They might be able to use the flight data to see if they owe you some repairs.

I hear you, but I fly mine often and have never had anything like that happen. They are reliable, but like any drone, it can be dangerous if it comes too close to people or objects. You should have seen the original DJI Phantoms- those were really sketchy! I was happy when Karma came out with the autonomous controls and FPV.
@@JordanHetrick thank you for your time. Do they make a better quality one with more range? I can see a half mile I'd like to be able to fly across a section like a mile, two would be better. I'd like to use it to check wildlife,cows on pasture and maybe crops.
As for my issue I know they aren't all bad. Things happen all the time like new cars having catastrophic failures,even toasters malfunction.
Lots of poeple have no issues with these and are pretty common.
Karma is GoPro's only drone. Unfortunately, they are dropping out of the drone market. I don't like DJI as a company, but they do make some drones will a longer range. You might want to check those out.
Reading this article about Americans no longer have to register non-commercial drones with FAA. Article was issued on May 19,2017. Is this true?
You have to register any quadcopter, helicopter or airplane weighing more than 1/2 pound. For recreational purposes your machine has to weigh less than 55 lbs. Also if you plan on doing commercial work you better get liability insurance 'cause if your machine hurts someone you will be in legal trouble.
