I went exactly the same route, had the grip first and purchased the flight kit. Absolutely the way to go. I upgraded from a Phantom 2 and I am really happy with Karma, as a drone and as a compliment to the GoPro platform. Have fun with it. GoPro will introduce a 360 camera. I guess they also will come up with a harness for the grip and drone. I am really looking forward to that. Jürgen

Yes they are not cheap. But I think for what you get its the best drone for the cost. There are more advanced drones on the market but you pay for that.

That is a tough decision. I really enjoyed them both. I prefer the karma for the quality that I can get it. But the spark is so much smaller and more portable and less obtrusive when flying around people. I always keep the spark in my backpack it doesn’t take up much room. So if I had to choose only one I would have to go with the spark
Air Photography do you find the karma video quality better ? I was leaning towards having a separate camera instead of taking away from my go pro . But getting all the accessories you get with the karma is awesome . Do you find not having the sensors worrisome unlike the spark ?

I flew RC aircraft for years but it was before the age of the mini camera. I'm uniquely unqualified about drones. You made a quality video here but I must digress. I just got my Karma a month ago and everything you posted here was exactly what I figured out on my own. 18 minutes to tell us what we would naturally learn by opening the case and looking at the content. You actually wasted the time of over 24,000 people. BTW, the silver tools you dismissed were specialized wrenches for the propellers. Hand tight is fine, but the wrench should be used to make them a little more snug. While it will fly fine at "hand tight", forward and reverse motions, if quickly executed, could cause a prop to loosen. (physics) I'll no more subscribe to your page as you would mine. Semper Fly. But this is not true!!! The drone simply accelerates in a straight line until disappears or hit something. In my case, even running in its direction I lost sight because it is very fast and last location gives no real clue where it did go. I piloted a lot of drones before to do some work and choose the GOPRO for being my own drone because of the camera (that could be used underwater and etc giving a good value for money) even knowing that other brands are better with drones. I made a very rational choice and spent a 2 year saving to have a drone that flew just 2 times (2nd being the one where it disappeared). I`m completely frustrated because I neither stepped more than 50 meters from it (diagonally to it) before receiving the error and loosing complete control. Only button I hit for all the time when running to it was the descend one, trying to land it (or at least crashing it in some tree before I loose it). As I received it by yesterday and fully charged its battery + updated all software I can tell it is not a system update missing nor calibration fault as I did it very smoothly before the 1st launch. Will open a case with support on monday and hope gopro takes the customers seriously because it is stupid discover in internet forums that it is a common behavior... I`d rather prefer to have the 2016 version, at least it drops from the sky and not gets lost from you.

The DGI Facebook groups are full of people who use units have just fallen from the sky Or flew off. Drones are getting better and more reliable than they used to be.
thank you for prayers... As far I could read the Karma is a champion on fly-aways and because the same error again and again. If we compare the tons and tons of DJIs vs. the just-released Karma numbers I`m pretty sure the proportion between problems will indicate GOPRO has to re-think about it.
Bringing back THE BEST outcome possible : GOPRO checked the logs and told me: Do not fly around houses again (I live on a house condominium with a green area in front of my house from where I depart), but we will send you all replacements! This was today and I`ll update the post as soon it comes to me. THIS IS A GOAL for Gopro and a nice way to keep me as a customer!
