I can’t believe this song was not appreciated as much as it should have. I mowed the lawn to this shit back in the day (2011) and it made it so much fun, among other things 😅
That crowd is like "Oh... my... God... this is beautiful. I... I can't even move!" This whole song is a master piece and it will never be forgotten by me.
Jeremy Sanchez That's too fucking funny! I had to pause it so I could laugh but I also noticed the two beside him are even like "Wow this dude is awe struck"
These guys were an inspiration in HS for me and my band then haha This CD, Fall of Ideals by All That Remains, and End of Heartache by Killswitch are my favorites of all time.
So wild to me that the lead guitarist quit this band back in the day (myspace was still a thing...) because he didnt wanna play in a metal band anymore. Fuck me.
FOR EVERYONE SAYING THE VOCALS SUCK This band is very heavily math related and unlike playing songs like most bands do(4/4), they play at different meters and such(7/8, 11/8, etc). This band is extremely mathematical, technical and talent. I have seen people commenting on the singer not knowing singing queues...they made the song; I am pretty sure they knew they were making the song in a different meter. As for his screams sucking, I like them! THA is amazing for every member and their style.
@@donaldn5798 I come back to this song/iteration of the band every once in a while. Discovered em when I was 17, I'm 31 now. Theyve had a lot of changes in one way or another.
This was the first song I ever learned on guitar. The intro riff is awesome. There’s no way in hell I can the lead part but I can chug along to the rhythm part.
The Album Nocturne by The Human Abstract is one of my favorite albums of all time. It mixes metal-core and neo-classical so perfectly it bitch-slaps you dead in the face. With blazing fast riffs and lightning sweeps, the dual guitarists are true virtuosos. They brought a refreshing gasp of air to the dying metal scene. If I heard another chug riff, blast-beat, grindcore riff, or a ridiculous break-down I was going to give up on new-music for awhile. Give Nocturne a chance, it will grow on you.
Please, someone reply to me and echo my sadness that this band doesnt exist anymore. There will never be a band like THA ever again ;_; so unique, so special, yet such a failure in the end.
my friend says he loves the human abstract, as i do, but hates btbam and monuments and periphery and animals as leaders and erra and veil of maya... "because they use cut-beats and sound all choppy". ......how do i tell him he's dumb?
He's not dumb, he's right. AAL is the worst offender of sounding too technical for the ear to even enjoy, that over-produced and unnatural sound which robs music of the ability to reach us on a more human level.
I'd like to chime in, however I wouldn't say "they're bad" just that I prefer THA because of how apparent their classical element is. Like in the midst of chaos there's this serenity going on that makes you feel at peace, and then you go back to headbanging.
I just saw them. Awesome as F. The Atticus Metal Tour. I saw three of the members. I hugged the singer and had a convo with Dean. My friends smoked with the singer. Great time. I enjoyed myself :)
I'm seeing them in three weeks when they open for dir en grey in orlando. this is the first song that i've heard by them. if anyone has any suggestions for which songs i should listen to i'd appreciate it. (i hate going to concerts & not knowing any of the songs that the people are playing)
This song started to sound in my head two days ago and I've been strugling to remember the name since then. The only thing that remaind was ''vela'', but finally. Once again will be disturbing the peace in my block. No te me vas a volver a escapar.
guy putting his hands up in 3:15 is what i would have done if i would have been to their concert, because they are so epic you have to raise your hands up in awe.
i dont get how they play this in complete darkness and strobe lights. i doubt many people take into account how much harder it makes it. also just standing and doing exactly what you did when recording. these people are amazing especially AJ considering he comes up with these beautifull songs. ARPEGGIOS FTW!!!!
This whole band was unbelievable. They were all basically playing solos at the same time. So glad I got to see them once.
Lucky you. Me Mexican I never was able to.
My sentiments exactly. Fucking nonstop dread windmill while doing this insane shit was a sight to behold.
I heard this intro 18 years ago and told myself that if I ever had a daughter, I'd name her Vela, and that's exactly what happened :)
Probably my favorite metal song ever. I can't believe how old it is.
Same!!😝
That into riff and closing sweeps will always be my favorite.
Amen to that.
so friggin complex yet scales perfectly. by far my favorite
Yea I compare other and consistently come back to this song
I saw this band the day before my freshman year of high school (right after this video was posted on UA-cam)….I graduated high schools 13 years ago 😮
Feeling old yet? Same here
by far (one of the) most talented and underrated bands of my generation
3:16 that dude's face still makes me chuckle
Dude is questioning his sexuality with his girl beside him as he stares at AJ LOL

I love the kids in the crowd at 3:15...Kids in awe watching AJ rock out hahaha
Jeremy Sanchez That's too fucking funny! I had to pause it so I could laugh but I also noticed the two beside him are even like "Wow this dude is awe struck"
Jeremy Sanchez haha, and girl near look "maybe his zombie"))
One of the best break downs OF ALL TIME. I will die on this hill.
Saw this band the day before my freshman year in high school 2006 haha with drop dead gorgeous. This just took me back
These guys were an inspiration in HS for me and my band then haha This CD, Fall of Ideals by All That Remains, and End of Heartache by Killswitch are my favorites of all time.
I have a hoodie from this band it's barely hanging on, got it like 2007 lol
That guitarist is very impressive.
AJ Minette.
i LOOOVE THE INTRO LOVE IT LOVE IT LOOOVE IT
Fuck man this got me through some shit in high school!!! Those hardcore melodic riffs with those vocals its just bliss!!!
high school seems like a shitty place for a lot of people
@@123123boobies try mushrooms and listen LOL
It's too bad this band is falling apart so soon, I'm really honored to have seen them together live with the original line-up.
I'm stoked to see these guys open for Dir en grey. I love their sound, and I love the direction they took with their new album.
cherish this, this song goes wayyyyy back for me. im so stoked it happened, changed me musically. RIP
So wild to me that the lead guitarist quit this band back in the day (myspace was still a thing...) because he didnt wanna play in a metal band anymore.
Fuck me.
The vocalist too. Too much originality and raw emotions thank dios we got this at least
This Song is the bomb man!!!!!This is wad i call a real neo-classical/Metalcore Band!!
i cant believe it. ive never felt so old
I want them to play this when they lower me into the ground
I don't think this song could ever be long enough.
Almost ten years, now.
Where the fuck did the time go?
+Patrick Callahan Ten years, into the past.
Patrick Callahan more like 11 yrs
I'll never be able to get enough of this song.
first wave of metalcore always. always
it's beyond metalcore, it's emblematic of the entire metal genre that came after it
This was certainly not apart of the first wave of metalcore.
so versatile, so powerful, so AWESOME , love it !!!!
FOR EVERYONE SAYING THE VOCALS SUCK

They are trippin' off the percs. This song bangs

i love playing the intro on piano, amazing song as well!
There will never be another band as good as THA in my honest opinion.
nickwick35 nocturne is one of my favorite records from this era. So good.
this is such an amazing song definitly my favorite it just has everything
Haha, gotta love how dumbfounded that kid in the audience looks at 3:17. He's wowed by the awesome shredding.
And Dread Tornado 4:05-4:12 !
5 years later this song is still one of the best
Some of the fairly technical riffs are what inspired me to try and learn guitar. Too bad I suck and my fingers aren't quite dexterous enough lol.
Keep practicing
This was the first song I ever learned on guitar. The intro riff is awesome. There’s no way in hell I can the lead part but I can chug along to the rhythm part.
Seriously that dude is doing some serious work. Just listening to him is making my hand cramp up.
3:17 scene
Guy: Mother of God
Girl: U Okay dude ?

I enjoyed this singer cause he put on a good show, but the new vocalist is incredible and fits so well with the band. \m/
+fribread New vocalist? Do they still alive as a band?
+ferna2294 they're teasing a reunion this year. Check their Twitter page
That would be so awesome. I will check it out. Thanks!
+ferna2294 ohhh that would be dope! There are a few bands doing reunion tours this year. Should be a good year for metal \m/
The drum lines he comes up with are so technical that you get exhausted after playing 3 of their songs off of Nocturne....He's an amazing drummer.
Please, someone reply to me and echo my sadness that this band doesnt exist anymore. There will never be a band like THA ever again ;_; so unique, so special, yet such a failure in the end.
Nocturne is one of my Top 3 Favorite Albums ever made, the whole CD is incredible.
Feel too old now😂
we all do
definitely my favorite song on this album
I'm sorry but for the solo intro how can you just stand there and "bob" your head?? OPEN UP THIS PIT!!!!!!!!
I love this song, been looking for a place to download for forever now..
my friend says he loves the human abstract, as i do, but hates btbam and monuments and periphery and animals as leaders and erra and veil of maya... "because they use cut-beats and sound all choppy". ......how do i tell him he's dumb?

... Or perhaps you aren't smart enough to understand such works of art

Like in the midst of chaos there's this serenity going on that makes you feel at peace, and then you go back to headbanging.
How could you now like this? This has to be one of my all time favorite songs :P
I just saw them. Awesome as F. The Atticus Metal Tour.
I saw three of the members. I hugged the singer and had a convo with Dean. My friends smoked with the singer. Great time. I enjoyed myself :)
Seen them live in Riga (Latvia). Had a beer together... :)
Great band, great guys!
yes, BOTH of the guitarists are tuned to drop C and it's in the key of F Major.
This song.... It's too awesome!!!!
i love how the drums sortaa follow the guitars tune :D
Nocturne is also one of my favourite albums.
almost 10 seconds in and i love the song all ready.
Each and everyone one of them are in their own world absolutely shredding in sync
Its not possible to stop listening to this song.
Loved this song/album .
Truly amazing song!!!
BY FAR THE most epic song ive ever heard
Such an awesome CD
most epic intro ever!! oh and probably one of the most talented bands around.
this band kicks ass!!!!!!!such a guitarist o.O!!!!!!
I remember when this song came out in 7th grade. Ah, such nostalgia brings me back and back again.
i love this band
Best concert I ever went to was when they played.
Wow. Listen to the drumming when the vocals enter. Amazing.
I'm glad to see the standards of excellence and guitar virtuosity is making a come back in metal...
Awesome song. Remind me of seeing them last night, as they supported Protest The Hero, at Rock City Notts ^-^
god this song is so amazing!!!!!!!
Man i love bands like this, Especially vocalists who sound like this.
Wow, so underrated. These guys are freakin sick. I'd have these over any mainstream metalcore band out there.
for real dude! they played a show in Virginia and we were ten times that. it was fucking amazing!!!!!
I'm seeing them in three weeks when they open for dir en grey in orlando. this is the first song that i've heard by them. if anyone has any suggestions for which songs i should listen to i'd appreciate it. (i hate going to concerts & not knowing any of the songs that the people are playing)
I do believe that this song is beastly.
i absolutely love this band ♥
One of the most amazing intro's i've ever heard... Guitarist with the glasses plays like a slowed down version of dimebag... decent pinch harmonix
This song started to sound in my head two days ago and I've been strugling to remember the name since then. The only thing that remaind was ''vela'', but finally. Once again will be disturbing the peace in my block. No te me vas a volver a escapar.
I like this song!
Man, Nathan was the best. I wish he was still in.
guy putting his hands up in 3:15 is what i would have done if i would have been to their concert, because they are so epic you have to raise your hands up in awe.
top 5 greatest albums ever in my opinion.
so beautiful...
i love the guitar work
This song is brutally spectacular!
i dont get how they play this in complete darkness and strobe lights. i doubt many people take into account how much harder it makes it. also just standing and doing exactly what you did when recording. these people are amazing especially AJ considering he comes up with these beautifull songs. ARPEGGIOS FTW!!!!
This and the Ending of Mea Culpa is the equivalent of the epitomy of the sound. Quite simply the 2 greatest metal songs've ever heard.
Best band ever .... R.I.P (Rock in peace)
i could listen to them solo allll day
I saw these guys at the warped tour and I never realized how intence the bass was
the song was also amazing
Saw THis Band Live. First Concert And Best.
Haha, that chick at 3:16 totally doesn't give a fuck about shredding while the dude next to her is in shock XD
why can't all of their songs be this awesome?
Thanks man. I'll be sure to check them out. I'm new to this genre.
This band and Between the Buried and me would put one hell of a show on!
same here, i saw them at rock city a while back... they were supporting protest the hero... it was great ^-^
Ok i think its safe to say this is one of the greatest bands of all time. :)
Can't stop replaying the outro O.o
