I'm listening to this fine track in the year 2069 ;) I like this calm yet still groovy kinda shtuffs to be blaring at 11 while I'm doing sex on my robot girlfriend! ... she likes much heavier stuff...but she only gets to pick the tunes in September...every other month is mine! Hehe
It started as a demo. I suppose they could have/should have remixed or remastered it for the "official release", but that's why it has sub-par sound quality.
the way these guys blend metal with classical is beautiful to say the least. im impressed. my mother even liked it but thats only b/c my mom is into classical.
Please let this mean they are still together. Also, classical covers is awesome, and bold. Seriously though, if you read these comments, the metal world needs you.
This is the most awesome cover i've ever heard in my life. It's sad that it's not on Spotify anymore, i listened to it daily for years. This was a very unique band that i couldn't share with anyone beacuse the particular genre it fits. Awesome band, and listen to Art by Numbers that were the spiritual succesors.
+Alejandro Lazaro he was a metal head of those times along with mozart. his music was not conventional and initially frowned upon because the intense compositions.
this was recorded during the making of digital veil if i remember right, but they still havnt said whether or not the band is broken up. the only person that has even hinted at it was henry
SON OF A FUCK! I HAD THIS WITH MAX VOLUME IN MY NOISE CANCELING HEADPHONES TRYING TO PEACEFULLY ZONE OUT! Imagine my shocking surprise at around 4 minutes... For a moment, I thought it was one of those pranking videos...
The band never had any intentions of breaking up. They were on hiatus for a while because the Bassist told everyone he was selling his gear and they were breaking up...but the band is still together and looking to tour :)) Quite frankly, this band is one of the greatest bands eveer. Digital Veil was like Ride the Lightning..now im waiting for The Black Album
I know this is a silly subject to debate upon but I honestly think he would have been astounded by it. Hell I bet ole Ludwig would have been a huge Human Abstract, BTBAM, and Animals As Leaders fan. There is no way that someone with as keen a musical mind as Ludwig Von Beethoven wouldn't be able to see the incredible beauty behind bands like the aforementioned.
@Acousticnoiseuk Released a couple of days ago but it's from their Digital Veil sessions. A couple of months ago Henry their bassist released a Facebook status implying that they were broken up...but the other day Dean replied to a Formspring question and said that basically Henry was out of line in his statement...they're all kind of doing their own thing right now (Dean in law school, Travis left for family) so I really hope they're just on hiatus.
I think the sound level on this track is ok. This rendition of Bethoven's Midnight Sonata is different than the others (both before and after this one), but in a cool way. Good job folks! I suspect the problem here is peeps hear the subdued levels in the first 3 mins and crank the volume forgetting the increased tempo and energy of the Second Movement (@3:14) onwards.
@Sodhats I think this works just fine. Just because your lack of taste is in the way and clogging up your ears doesn't mean it doesn't "work". Experimental tracks like this adding metal to classic (which is where Metal was originally truly derrived from), is a pleasant change from the rest of the Metal world.
@MegaEpicwin He's doing a lot of teaching...he just graduated his master's program. I'm pretty sure he does Skype lessons so basically anyone can take a lesson from him. But deep down, I know that guy is a classical guitarist at heart. I think he does THA for the fans, but I'm not sure how much he enjoys it. Though I do really hope he keeps playing with them if they decide to get back together in the future.
Well man, just think about it. Heavy metal has only been out for, let's say, 30 or so years. Your grandpa didn't grow up listening to that. I'm sure when you're a grandpa, you'll still be listening to this, because everyone else reading this, including me, will still be rocking this shit 40 years from now.
hey. some time ago aj wrote that on facebook. he postet a link to this vid and said that it was dean herrera playing all the parts. thats at least what i have in mind :P should be correct
He stayed so true to the dynamics of the real song.good stuff! @Omgtkseth: I think u mixed bach and beethoven. Moonlight sonata was composed by ludwig van beethoven.
I like this version, but i can tell he's using a musicman jp6 in the middle phase position for the clean leads. I think it wouldve sounded better with a telecaster.
I'm not a huge fan of the second movement but I think that The Human Abstract did a good job at making it just as interesting as the other two movements. :)
the accuracy at which they performed it compared to the original is astonishing, they are a gifted group of musicians.
Too gifted to make money and be happy at the same time.
Thumbs up if you knew when to turn the volume down a tad.
I have headphones on, and I cranked it even higher!!
Now I can't even hear myself type on a mechanical keyboard.
turn down for what?
@@thaddeusk the distortion, drums, heavier bass, just the climax
@@iangarza990 I was just making a bad song reference :P.
@@thaddeusk lol im stupid
MAKE AN ENTIRE ALBUM OF METAL CLASSICAL MUSIC AND TAKE MY MONEY.
That would be less effort, at least one is classically trained and is clearly capable of doing the "hit list" in his sleep.
...with technically-proficient musicianship, two characteristics that bands like THA and BTBAM almost undeniably share.
I miss human abstract :(
Between the buried and me??
@@brandonb7519 that's exactly what he meant
I just finished the BTBAM cover of Bohemian Rhapsody, which reminded me of this, and I couldn't not listen to it again.

Masterminds. I really hope these guys don't decide to break up. They are one of my favorite modern metal bands.
Still listening in 2018 🤘🏻
I keep coming back to it too!
I'm listening to this fine track in the year 2069 ;)

Here in 2021. I'm always listening to my nostalgia years of music though as the algorithm doesn't show me new music nearly as much.:(
I'm late, looks like y'all have been here a while lol... I new to this group. Hi everyone 👋🏽
Daniela Ruso and The Human Abstract are truly masters at Beethoven's pieces...
That 3rd movement though
EPIC! I think Beethoven himself would headbang like hell to this.
Amazing arrangement, amazing playing!
It started as a demo. I suppose they could have/should have remixed or remastered it for the "official release", but that's why it has sub-par sound quality.

i just had this recomended! havnt hear this in a while, feels so refreshing!

BLOODY FUCKING BEAUTIFUL!!!

It’s still on spotify. Listened to it last night
@@skippigames so it's not on available on my country anymore then :(
Art by Numbers also became Artificial Language
Dean is a fantastic musician.
This is the type of music that shoud be outlawed by, that is how good and extremely hard it is to repeat for a novice like myself
saw them live and im still in aww
This, and everything about The Human Abstract, is simply phenomenal.
From this day forward, movement three of this piece if the most incredible thing I have ever heard.
07:28 gives me the chills
Who knew Beethoven made such great metal music?
Beethoven kicked every metal music player's ass before they were born
+Alejandro Lazaro True- the guy was metal as hell before metal was born...I mean terms of his attitude to music-making!
+Alejandro Lazaro he was a metal head of those times along with mozart. his music was not conventional and initially frowned upon because the intense compositions.
Tbh Vivaldi was more metal
+Vinay Seth metal was never born. Metal has always been, and will always be.
Yeah, but Wagner kicked Beethoven's ass.

This is magnifique , and so godlike
What the fuck 3:14 scared the shit out of me.... jesus,,,, >DDDDD
Even after reading this comment, It scared the shit out of me! :D
Yep, saw the comment, braced for it, and still jumped. Fucking headphones.
Me too. But the immense eargasm I had afterwards could compensate for it
Thanks for the warning haha

Courier Z same 😂 I was about to sleep and then that part hits
I was on the toilet and left phone in room and I thought it was a commercial 😂😂😂
This was recorded during the sessions for Digital Veil. All guitars are Dean Herrera.
@Acousticnoiseuk They didn't break up, but they are on hiatus. This was recorded by the guitarist around the same time digital veil was being recorded
3:15 always gives me a damn heart attack! It scares me every time and I know it's gonna happen! >.<
These songs are absolutely entrancing, especially like this. Thank you, THA.
Awesome to see amazing metal musicians paying tribute to the roots!

Better than I was expecting... It's actually enjoyable.
That moment in all its ridiculous over the top metalness, made me give this video a thumbs up.

that's what we should talk about BEETHOVEN should be proud of this .
I dont care so much for the not so great quality but the moonlight sonata is still great (both beethoven and the human abstract)
Holy crap, this just blew my mind.
This was just ridiculous, but I loved it all the same, and credit goes to the band for their careful attention to the details of the original :)
MY MIND IS BLOWN
@InciteDATRIOT i suppose he does get too much credit, but midheaven shows what happens when they try to release an album without him.
The band isn't necessarily broken up yet, check their wikipedia page.
Maximum ear-fukt. I love it.
My favorite part of this is that it sounds only slightly different than their original stuff in terms of complexity
I've played this on piano. Pretty cool cover.

13:31 I had the volume up really high for the first part and it scared the b'jesus outta me. :b
Holy shit.
@InciteDATRIOT he's the actual musician in the band, everyone else are just technicians.
@jdavidcade Their new album and vocalist aren't
@yanks0918 My only gripe is that their transition to the heavy part was non existent. Sigh.
