- Textures Music Video for the song 'Awake', available on the album 'Silhouettes'.
The video was shot at the beginning of October in the Belgian Ardennes under the supervision of director Rob Hodselmans (GEM, Room 11) and producer David Leite from Hazazah. The video has been made possible thanks to a generous grant from the Dutch TAX funds an incentive from the Dutch Government to assist Dutch artists with audio/visual output.

Music is to be played anytime you want not only happy times, sometimes it helps to hear music when you're sad (hope you don't need to). I like this song so much and relate so much to the lyrics (avoid regrets) that I want this song to be played when I die. I even have a tattoo with the phrase "Life is too short to be wrong". i went to a textures/periphery show in orange county with my girlfriend and we both agreed that textures blew everyone away. brilliant tones/playing/sing/ overall composition.

KJ Gould Somebody's been blasting "Funeral" on repeat, I think.
Lasse Løfqvist Opening vocal lines remind me of "The Way Home!" from his "Addicted!" album, but yeah, the overall feeling moves progressively towards the Funeral.

In all honesty, this song and the album on which it came are some of my all time favourites. And because of that, it makes me sad that this band doesn't get the recognition they deserve!

Usually, the three albums of this band turn on my Hi-fi once a day each. Still don't know how i can't have reached a limit with it : i just never got bored. I'm glad to see more people discover textures everyday.

The first time I heard Textures I was hooked . I received the CD Textures from an internet cafe, yup awhile back. Now they're still touring and kicking ass. Why are they not more well known.
Check out "A Surreal State of Enlightenment" one of the coolest pieces of music I've heard. They seen one of a kind.

Veil of Maya and Textures are both songs from Cynic's classic album, Focus. Does anyone think that's where those bands got their names from?
If so they should be ashamed to use the songnames of such an amazing band and then play such generic mathcore(textures)/deathcore(veil) crap. And this song was actually really good in the beginning and not just the open muted low string with maybe the first fret and a few b2 dissonances thrown in… but they just had to use that later on otherwise the kids wouldn't listen to it…
This band, nor Veil of Maya suck. Probably not as creative as Cynic, but Veil of Maya especially doesn't suck.
appleipodtouch2g That's a matter of taste after all. They're all technically proficient musicians but I simply can't stand such generic music that is then labelled as somewhat "progressive"… If you like them, good for you but it's nothing for me
DaveElwoodCutter Veil do use a lot of fantastic guitar riffs/solos though.
They have a few cool riffs and all but the overall package simply doesn't appeal to me.

I miss Textures dearly, Silhouettes was at the time I found two great bands that became my joint favourites of all time! Although Textures has parted, I still have The Ocean Collective to satisfy my 'favourite band is releasing new music' feeling. Anyone who loves Textures, please go check The Ocean's 'Jurassic/Cretaceous' from the upcoming album (It's fucking delicious). In the meantime, I'm still sitting here hoping for a Textures reunion with Eric!

@@chincevideos923 I completely agree, Eric is without a doubt my favourite vocalist in metal, his clean vocals are so melancholic and his shouts are completely flawless! I hope you enjoy The Ocean, Eric actually featured as lead vocals on the song "Mesoarchaean" from their Precambrian album in 2007, if you didn't know. The more Eric, the better! All the best!
