Was trying to pull off the cross collar choke to arm bar. Got confused on what to do with my right leg to get to the s-mount. But the CCC grip never failed to get the reaction. Really digging your and Nikkis’s videos and editing style. Oss (from Guam)!

I did a bad thing.. my coach showed me how to ccc in a private session but I didn't have it down perfect and I went to show another student in a later class (just having fun) but I'm pretty sure we were both doing it wrong and putting too much pressure on the trachea. I feel bad, I was just trying to make the sparring interesting but I can see how it can possibly hurt someone. My throat is sore from her attempting the choke but when my instructor did it, it was painless and very quick incapacitation.
I'm going to ask the instructor to show her the right way next time and then I wont make the mistake again of trying to teach people things as a student.

When we were sparring, I tried a cross collar choke from mount and my instructor told me to never do that as it puts you in a position for your arm to be broken. Is there a way that you can do a cross collar choke from mount without this risk?
cross collar choke threat to armbar! I was going to ask, seems hard to get a cross collar choke without opponent defending it, but I could see the threat of it opening up opportunities like arm bar.
But how might we attempt to actually get past cross collar defense to finish that way?
