Hello Taryl, I like the way you fix the mower. What you did to the Zero turn I did the same thing to a bucket truck that had intermittent cycle issues. Fixed it the same way you did Taryl. I also added three wires that were over a hundred foot long. Boom height is 90 foot. What I would like to know from you is what brand would you suggest to purchase that is used ??? I want to keep the costs on the lower side. Thank you for your time and I enjoy the video show. Keep on doing what you do Taryl. My I suggest you do a few better brands to purchase for the average homeowner Sir.
      Good day Sir. vf

First year I did window ACs I bought for $2 each I was able to buy a Ford Ranger and give away 56 here in New Hampshire. Yes, The GT 150 Series is one of many GM/Delphi connector. While many "car" plugs of all brands are "Weather Resistant," coat terminals and body with silicone grease helps make sure any water that gets in can't cause rust for all. Because the seals often "fail" if wires are bend or pulled sideways near the connector body. Or If installed with wires pointing down even with the cover as above, water can sit and wick down thru any seal.

It’s nice to see another shop doing a rebuild on a connection terminal.
I have a customer in my neighborhood we did a rebuild on his PTO switch connector on an old craftsman GT 3000 riding mower. I had to order the terminals from Oregon specifically, and return on the switch with a brand new PTO plunger switch.
Even came back with the wires, broken for the PTO clutch so we did that in a Molex terminal.
I will be picking up one of your crimping tools very soon!(More capabilities than my static Molex crimper.)

T ! Love ya but need to chip in that yes, I do have that mower. And I did need to replace that part a few years ago. Couple things...It is very hard to get to and I probably wouldn't have done it myself if I had seen this video beforehand. I swapped out my module from underneath and didn't really take off nearly as many parts as you did. Fortunatly I did not have the damaged connector to deal with but I do think that installing the annoying cover is an attempt to protect that connection. It is always a little thrilling to diagnose and fix something like this and your videos are remendously helpful. Thanks

Good to see your way Taryl, Thought I would mention my way. If you remove the battery platform (2 bolts) the whole plate comes out really easily and you can install the module from the top with one person. Also as you mention elskins didn't need to remove the gears to disable the parking mechanism, simply take a 10mm and remove what I would call the pawl, It's the part that connects to the module to physically engage/dis-engage the mechanical braking system. It's really easy to remove each 10mm bolt (thread it back in) and let the two arms dangle. push it all day now.
Another thing that makes installing the plastic cover ALOT easier is to un-bolt the solenoid and move it a little bit, which gives you the room to properly install the cover and start the problem bolt, which can be tightened (as you mentioned) through the access hole in the frame.

I got a great deal on a 314 Toro/Wheel Horse and you have to check under the belt guard for failure to the drive belt idler plastic pulley bushing. I had a failure on a 520 and had to adapt an oillite bronze bushing to take up the slop. Thanks Toro

I just worked on one of these.. thankfully that wasn’t the problem.. this one had a single cylinder Toro engine on it. Customer said it would turn over but it would not start. It had no compression. When I turned the flywheel manually, I could feel the piston bump on something.. I pulled the head, and low and behold, there was a carburetor nut, and the flange of the nut was stuck under the intake valve now allowing it to close.. thankfully, by some miracle it didn’t damage anything.. put it all back together, and it ran perfectly.

I own a Time Cutter. I got it used for only $600 and the parking brake was bypassed. I probably would have bought a new module but when I researched it I learned that many people said that they didn't last very long or were defective right out of the box. I decided to replace the module with a universal relay that basically kills everything through the seat switch. I don't have a parking brake but my place is really flat. This is my first Kawasaki powered mower and I really like how it runs and cuts. The only minor issue is that the left hydro is a little bit slow until it warms up and then it's a little faster than the right.

If they (Toro, or should that be Zoro) can’t even put electric grease on the terminals, what faith do we have in the companies making the new age mower’s getting it right at the factories.

Great video. I have one of the time cutters with the tilting seat and the starter solenoid went bad. I know what you mean by a contortionist act to replace it since the solenoid hides under the seat support crossmember and the only way I could access it was by the old flip the wrench on each bolt head face, move the wrench and flip again for another few degrees of movement. Really feel for the two-man nut and bolt action you had to go through.

Great repair job! I do take exception with one little thing. You disconnected the positive battery cable. You should always disconnect the negative cable first. Teaching those grass rats bad practice.

I am a heavy equipment mechanic, on my rig I have full setts of Deutch for caterpillar Delphi for older deere harness connection kits. Comes with everything to repair or make new harnesses, little pricey but so worth it when ya need it. Anymore I get all refills from Amazon so there ya go.

You can get those connectors. Toro don't make em. I have bags of them.
    Takes a special crimper.
Edit, I figured you'd find em. Commented early on.
I had to fix a harness on a exmark mower. Can't just get that piece. Harness was like 300.00.

If they made the engineers disassemble and reassemble these machines they would be a dream to work on .

Over engineering what should be a simple manual brake, but people these days are to lazy to use it,so let's put on a electronic butt wiper on a mower next, just more stuff to protect the morons from getting hurt and sueing the manufacturer, glad to see there's mechanics like you that care about saving the customer money, and anguish,my hats off to man

I deal with these type of repairs in the automotive field, I keep all the connectors from harnesses I get from replacements, usually corrosion or Fluffy chewing wires off at the connector. Cut the wires long then you can dissemble the connector and replace the wire and terminal with a solder in wire splice, a lot of times it saves the customer from having to get another component, harness or sensor. Great fix 👍

When I’m finished mowing with my 0 turn I give it an air bath from my air compressor. It gets rid of all the grass and dirt and leaves the mower clean and dry. So I hope that the plug ins don’t get the green crustys.
It would take a real grass rat to unplug and grease all the plug ins on a new mower but maybe you should. With the dialectic grease
Great video. Be careful with that pressure washer.
