Getting in to Warhammer 40k was no accident! Really it all began at school when a friend of mine brought in his 40k Rule Book and I was inspired by what I saw! I've been into the wargames hobby in general now for years and really enjoy it! I guess the good thing about wargames is the fact you can fight it out with your opponent on the wargames table without the worry of personal injury to yourself - well most of the time anyway! (I'm not exactly a body builder size wise)!

Always an enjoyable show.I feel like tactically the ranger units could have been deployed a little further down the table, to support the Scorpions and keep an eye on Obj. 1 & 2. As a constructive criticism I sometimes think, from a strategic perspective, you see the skirmishes but lose sight of the war. Read up on your Sun Tzu & Von Clauswitz when you get the chance. They did a lot to help me refine my game table wartime strategies.

Nice battle report, Scorpion. I like seeing a draw every now and again. The armies simply tore each other to sheds.

Great stuff. Usual first turn madness but still great fun to watch. Camera was a bit shakey (hate to be critical). It could be cos I watched it in the dark but felt it was worth mentioning.

This was an EXCELLENT battle-report. Fantastic play by both players and stellar looking armies. I really would love to see Josh return to the channel. I was hugely impressed with your handling of the Eldar in this game Scorp. The timing for using Matchless agility, the investment of psychic powers into the Wraithblades was a real standout. I would love to see a maxed out unit of 10 led by Prince Y'riel and perhaps with a Farseer buried in there granting them Fortune.... Protect, Conceal, Fortune (maybe the +1 WS power too?).... with Lightning Fast Reactions saved for the Shining Spears could be an incredible hammer and anvil tag team. Anyway great stuff Scorp and I hope to see Josh again on the channel.

Raven Guard player shouldn't have scored 'Hold the line' in the first turn. Can only be achieved from turn two onwards.
Thats basic practice on this channel, not reading the 2nd part of that objectiv.

Great game. A draw was a fair result, both armies fought really well. Wanted an Eldar victory as always but the Raven Guard fought valiantly and were a worthy opponent. Excited to see the new Eldar list Luke ;)

Fantastic battle, and another great report. The only thing that I wish you would change is when you use objective cards could you start the turn by showing them drawn instead of just going to movement phase?
It makes so much difference to the game and you just mention them casually some time before the end of the turn, or if they happen to get scored.
I like to have a second or two at least to think what I might do in the situation before I see how you or your opponent decided to move. Often I don't even really know the situation because I have no idea what cards are drawn until after the shooting phase!
I hope you understand what I mean, and how much of a difference it makes to the way the report works. Anyway, if you have some reason or you just prefer it your way then keep doing it lol - I will still watch because everything else is so well done and everyone involved has such a good attitude and enthusiasm it's infectious :)

I do believe you could have Heroically Intervened with the Avatar vs the gunship after it killed your Warlock.

You might want to consider working a farseer into your army, you have plenty of rerolls for hits, but the farseer can bring in doom for to-wound rerolls and fortune to give your wraithknight a 5+ FNP save.
When you park an autarch by the wraithknight and doom its target and fortune the knight it becomes an unstoppable force easily.

I think the whole squad has to be in your deployment for line breaker,at the end it looked like a few marines were out.
Great GAME!! A few Thoughts: Could you drop the Wraith Knight for Wave serpents and then cloud strike your wraith blades and wraith guard in quickly. With the saved Points you could probably add more Shinning spears, Wraiths, or Reapers. Without Prince Urial you could replace him with a farseer or another Autarch or even more Warlocks. Maybe without Urial and Wraith Knight you could take Aliatoch for the entire army. Then they could be more survivable. Just some thoughts.

Excellent work on a great battle report! However, with that being said I sincerely think that your Eldar army needs to be reformed slightly if it is ever to reobtain its former glory. I suggest that you do the following: Firstly, I think that you should replace the Wraithknight with a hemlock wraithfighter and two wave serpents: one equipped with a twin bright lance and a crystal targeting matrix and the other equipped with a twin shuriken cannon (points wise this would cost you 486 points while the Wraithknight with the two heavy wraithcannons costs you 502 points). I would implement this change because not only would it shield your highly-valuable (and not to mention highly-expensive) wraith units from attack through the wave serpents (which also possess significant firepower in their own right) but it would also allow you to wreak havoc upon your opponent's army through the hemlock as it is in my opinion one of the best flyers in the game and a real bargain for its 200 points price tag. Two examples of how this could have helped you in your battle reports are: 1. in your Eldar vs Ultramarines battle report "supreme disdain" (as I'm sure you recall) the Ultramarines were able to destroy your Wraithknight and Wraithblades on turn 1, and if you had made these switches the Wraithblades would have been protected and not to mention you would have lost approximately 727 points worth of models in a single turn. 2. In this battle report your wraith units had to footslog their way across the board while taking heavy casualties along the way, and in the case of the Wraithguard annihilation (save for one wound) at the hands of the aggressors. While had the Wraithguard been in a wave serpent their shots wouldn't have had nearly the same impact as their designed to hose down infantry, not vehicles. And to address the Wraithknight itself, while I do think that it is a really cool model and that it can work very well against armies with a low number of anti-tank units (which quite frankly there aren't an excessive amount of) but that doesn't change the fact that it is a massive points investment for what is essentially a titanic firepower platform that lacks reliable protection (which cannot be obtained without taking a suboptimal build- in essence dropping the firepower which you trade away so many points for in return) and I really don't think that it's worth taking, especially when you could take the suggested units instead. And secondly, I think that you need to get rid of prince yriel and replace him with a farseer (if possible one on a jet bike). I don't like prince yriel because while he is only 100 points, he is incredibly flimsy at only toughness 3 and his 3+ armor save and 4+ invulnerable save is compromised by the fact that he has to re-roll saving throws of 6s. And he has practically no shooting and he's not that reliable in combat as he's really not that tough. I think that a farseer and its physic powers would be a huge benefit to your army. Also, on another note I'm not entirely convinced about the avatar of khaine yet, however I'm not recommending that you remove him as I need to see how he performs in a few more battles. For some closing words I think that while the Eldar aren't as broken and stupidly overpowered as they were in 7th edition, they still are in my opinion a top tier army and to be frank you can't keep using 7th edition tactics and expect to be able to win with them (i.e. you need to be using the Eldar specific stratagems such as webway strike). I find that (much like the Eldar in the lore) with your Eldar army you're in a situation where the times are changing and if you do not adapt and change with them then you will be left behind by them. I hope that was helpful to you to some extent and I want to reiterate that I'm a huge fan of yours and that I write this as what I am hoping is constructive criticism.

Drop the avatar and the writh night and bring falcons so your wriath gaurd can get to battle
you probably just mixed up the transporters: a Falcon does not have enough room for wraith guard units. You most likely meant to bring some Wave Serpents
Yes I'm not an eldar player have a ITC in the club that plays eldar and his list is just gaurdians in wave serpertants with normal things like farseers rangers etc
I bet it wasn't even shrike, just a vanguard made up to look like him to draw the eldar into an attempted assassination, while that was going on the intercessors and reavers get behind enemy lines to continue sniping their characters from the shadows. Great game, rematch deffo, with a different mission then we'd see the RG stomp all over the pointy eared xeno filth.lol

Great game. I would've left that slowpoke Avatar alone and focused on the shinning spears and the psychers. The Stormraven should've have never moved up.

At 24:00 when the second hellblaster squad fired they rerolled into a one. I suppose because Luke said that would be a total six damage that Josh was overcharging. Either one of the squad should have died or he wasn't overcharging and only did 5 wounds

Just curious why you don't use Dark Reapers more. I always run 2 units when I play Eldar and they are insanely good! I suppose they aren't good for objectives but their firepower is insane.

Your eldar army is ballsy I'll give you that. Maybe put a farseer in to give guide to the wraithknight and take some dark reapers if you don't mind trading in the scorpions. I miss the suncannon being good.😿

Fun fact you cannot overwatch against Shrike he has a special rule that prevents overwatch when he charges.

Maybe I missed it, but during the army presentation when the Eldar Vanguard Detachment was explained, didnt he missed one Elite unit? He claimed the Scorpions to be part of the Battalion Detachment? Maybe he corrected it later?

It wouldnt hurt to completly read the "hold the line"objectiv. That thing has been around for a while now so there is no excuse to not read the part where you cannot score it on the first turn.

Quinn Staley Sorry man, this was a mistake on my end. I thought they could as it was listed on BattleScribe and I thought I saw someone else use a comtemptor with cyclone missile launcher on a different channel. Now I know I will just have to count them as “smoke launchers” lol.
Fear not!! The index was FAQ'd to have them added! After seeing this I did some "intensive research" (google search lol) and was lead to the FAQ :-) I was asking because I have a friend who runs RG relic comtemptor dreads and he will be delighted to hear he can add missiles too!

Question concerning the Raven Guard "Strike from the Shadows" granted he didn't use it this game in the end, but he played it three times I assume thinking it wasn't a "phase" and thus not subject to the core rule of not using the same stratagem per phase. HOWEVER, has this been FAQ'd?
I ask only as it states you play it during deployment. And states "A unit" no options for multi units. This compared to Eldar "webway strike" which allows for up to two units at cost of 3CP. By the logic they opted to use this game I would just play the Eldar stratagem for 1CP each time and deploy my units for a cheaper spend.
I think your trying to exploit the rule and if so I could also and webway strike more than two units and at 1CP per unit - clearly not what was intended.

Page 215 of the Big rules book has this to say:
The same stratagem cannot be used by the same player more than once during any single phase. This does not affect stratagems not used during a phase, such as those use 'before the battle begins' or 'at the end of a battle round'.
This would indicate that he can use the 'Strike from the Shadows' stratagem as many times as he wants because deployment happens before battle begins. The 'Webway Strike' stratagem specifies you can only use it once per battle which is why it gives you the option to deep strike one unit for 1CP or two units for 3CP.
A stormraven can only take 12 infantry units and in top of that they can’t take primaris units!

First turn GG. I really do not like the way the first turn decides games so many times. Why would there by no "-1" to hit "-1" to wound in first turn? The ravenguard charging into the wraith blades did seem a bit off a through....trying to shoot them with aggressors would have countered their 3up invuln so perfectly.

290 for that Contemptor?? That thing is garbage, why not spend another 15pts for a Leviathan with Dual Storm Cannon? Way more survivable and better weapons.
HeartofAiur Not really garbage. -1 to hit with Raven guard, 2+ Save, 5++, 6+++, 12w, 4 lascannons on Bs2, + Cyclone missile launcher. Pretty good I’d say. Sure the leviathan is good, but so is the comtemptor :)
Please Please stop taking the Wraithknight and the Avatar!! Taking one is someone trying to play fluffy and enjoy the game both just stops me enjoying any part of your tactical gaming. I would prefer neither as both are terrible points sinks and each game it clearly shows in your ability to give a good game. But please drop one as they are around 40% of your Mary and do 10% of any damage...... I love the channel and the humourous view alongside your Eldar focused reports.... Just need to see some good lists, even ones with synergy rather than powerful... Thanks!

I just saw the eldar army and I am already betting they will loose. Craftworlds is just a horrible army to play: you either go competitive af or you loose bitterly.
