Only the Porsche 911 can do it all !!!! You ever picture a Corvette, any Ferrari,Camaro,Skyline GTR, Mustang,Jaguar coupe, any particular Mercedes Benz model, even Audi, a single performance model that races, and wins in all types of racing? NO !!! Porsche 911, the only true all star athlete !
Joe Joe, you made one mistake. You included Mercedes-Benz in your list of cars that "can't do". Mercedes-Benz W107 450 SLC took places First (Hannu Mikkola), Second (Bjorn Waldegard), Third (Andrew Cowan) & Fourth (Vic Preston Jnr) in 1979 Côte d'Ivoire Bandama Rally over 5668 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W196 300 SL takes First (Karl Kling) & Second (Hermann Lang) places in 1952 Carrera Panamericana over 3507 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W121 190 D (Diesel) Ponton (Karl Kling) takes First place in 1959 Algiers to Cape Town Rally (Raid Méditerranée-Le Cap) over 14 000 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W111 220 SE (Karl Kling) takes First Place again in 1961 Algiers-Lagos-Algiers Rally over 11 500 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W111 220 SE (Ewy Rosqvist) takes First place in 1962 Touring Car Grand Prix of Argentina over 4626 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W196S 300 SLR takes First (Stirling Moss) & Second (Juan Manuel Fangio) places in 1955 Mille Miglia over 1597 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W196S 300 SLR again took First (Stirling Moss) & Second (Juan Manuel Fangio) in 1955 Targa Florio over 936 kilometers. Mercedes-Benz W123 280 E took First (Andrew Cowan) and Second (Tony Fowkes), as well as 6th & 8th, places in the 1977 London to Sydney Marathon over 30 000 kilometers. These are just a few of the rallies that Mercedes-Benz dominated.
