Won't make anyone cringe if you're a real car enthusiast... Porsche always wanted its share in rally and offroad, they built a car for Group B, the 959 a car that sells for around 1-2million dollars, it has locking rear dif, "off road" suspension and low gear.
I respect this, instead of gathering dust in a garage its utilized for its intended purpose: To drive fast and hard!
Well it was made for the track, but being used none the less hahaha
First 20 seconds: That would actually make most Porsche enthusiasts happy. Especially the purists, the 911 has a very successful history in rallying. What you should’ve said is that it makes casual car people cringe because they wouldn’t have known the history.

No they didn't. And its called Group B
They tried to enter group b but it was too dangerous and FIA closed the series. So they competed instead in the Paris-Darkar Rally.
this is not very accurate. Classic Porsches are anything but luxurious, they are about the driving experience. The air cooled 911's come from a very different side of culture than the people buying a brand new porsche crossover

@@Crazyhero-zi6yt Not even for the day and age. You had Rolls Royces, cadillacs, bentleys, lincolns and a score of other cars that were without question more comfortable. Porsche 911's were unwieldy death traps that were literally called widowmakers. Don't think a luxury car can ever be described as a widowmaker

for all the stress for offroading, these should be stitch welded and not just a rollcage.. must put a lot of stress on the chassis and cracks start appearing..

The Keen Project doesn't really touch the engine much save for a tune up. Nearly all of the work is suspension, body, interior and ancillaries to those (ducting, electronics, etc). That saves a TON of research, development and execution dollars which obviously translates into a more affordable product. And just as capable since the SC and 3.2 at ~200-230 hp have plenty of oomph.
Me everytime i see a new company that modifies Porsches like Rauh Welt, The Keen Project, etc...

Your argument is like 'why do people buy iPhones then they could get what they need for cheaper?'. People don't buy iPhones because they are a good value (they are a pretty horrible one, actually) just like people don't convert Porsche to off roaders because they want s mountain climber for a good price.
