I’m neither a Singer nor a Top Gear fan, but am delighted to have seen this episode. If you’re a motorhead of any persuasion, you’re in for a non-stop feast of breathtaking mechanical art and design. The Singer client who commissioned this project car, a modern take on Porsche’s 911 Safari rally car, spared no expense in fabricating an absolutely stunning machine, complete with the bespoke engineering and componentry to back up its off-road pretensions. The final product required a unique sequential transmission, built from scratch. The same with the steering rack, and the twin-shock suspension towers. Singer’s exterior styling is ethereal, conferring an oddly appropriate delicacy to the beast. But to the motorhead, it is the symphony of mechanical elements viewed from underneath, at once purposeful and finished to perfection, that hold the eye longest. The client who commissioned this car should be commended on his purity of vision, and for giving the builders license to do what was necessary to achieve their audacious goal. It is hard to imagine even the Porsche factory designing and building a Dakar-ready air-cooled 911 variant to this standard. Let’s hope the owner’s driving skills are as refined as his taste in off-road Porsches, and wish him many happy years with this car. It has for all of us widened the 911’s range of possibilities even further.

Singer: Voilà.
Richard Tuthill is the man for building comp Porsches without a doubt
this is the most beautiful car i ve ever seen. well done singer.
Another case of "not my thing at all but I'm very glad that it exists."
Looks like a custom hot wheels. It is weird, but I love it.
Another case of "exactly my thing but far too expensive for me, still I'm very glad it exists."
I want to see this beauty machine in a particular road in Brasil. The BR 319 in the winter of the jungle, in december or january.
It will be amazing!
Kkkkkkkk
"Yeah, you also want to just hit big stuff and laugh." What a legend.
Legend? He’s a charisma vacuum.
@@Kurlach Dude, he's an engineer. Ever meet one?
Love 911's & Porsche... along with the Singer tops it just tops it off with the designers just jaw dropping.
Just the engine alone, simple with the reddish accents' truly a thing of beauty.
When you see the passion and excitement in Richards eyes you just want to work at Porsche yourself! At least i do...😄
This dude proves how great the Three of them were. good days they've been
That thing looks and sounds like a Tamiya remote control car I had in high school! 😄
Monster Beetle *cough cough*
Dear Santa,
Now, I know it's still very early in the year, but........
I don’t know much about cars but this… what an absolutely beautiful thing…
"Who would be mad enough to drive...?" I would! I'd do it justice! I've already started training on KO2's on my practice van outside. I'm just short of about 450HP and wearing an extra 1500kg of lo-tech LOL :) If he needs someone to drive his spare car around after him I'd happily do it... at pace! ;)
A seriously awesome car.
I cannot afford one but I wish I owned one like this Porsche.
Awesome,
Niw just tell me how many millions it will cost...
I want the old Top Gear back
Notr watched a single second of the new top gear on purpose until now, but i had to watch this...thats crazy XD
