I love the sound of the old 911's. I don't think anything today can beat it. That graunchy, raspy, low-pitched, sonorous thrum of a flat-6 with a carburetor is one of the all-time greatest sounds. It's music.
This guy is the one car reviewer that when the video finished I though "he did a genuinely good job conveying what the car feels like". Excellently done video
Some things are just so visceral that I can't help realize I'll live and die without experiencing them first hand. Having said that, being introduced to it while seeing and hearing is worth the heartache.
Trillions like and best comment for you because you are best on Earth and follower respect you,we need videos in Real 120fps or 240fps 4K,8K and Sound in FullHD Surrounded
Does anybody know on which track the first part was filmed? I have seen it quite a few times now in all different car reviews her on UA-cam, but I can't find the name for it.
Sadly, although I love watching the live RM Auctions this particular member of staff appears to be unable to talk in a normal conversational manner. Echoes of Steve McLaren getting it wrong. I much prefer Max Girardo. "All finished, all done".
Plain Jane 72-73 911S models have been going for like $200,000 recently. Wish I had bought a couple for $50K a few years back!!! Want a 2.7 RS? How about $500K?!?!
No, mag case racing engines are good for 40 hrs race time, and then you throw the case away and start with a new one. Good luck getting 500k out of a mag case bottom end under any driving conditions. The later aluminum alloy cases were much more durable.

This is not carburetors, this is Mechanical Fuel Injection, which sounds way more mean then carbs.
Just sold for €1.050.000,- Well done!
Are you sure? It's not showing as SOLD on RM Auction's website..

competitioncars from the start of the 70s to mid 80s was absolutely amazing.
Nothing like an early 911, when tuned right, and set up right ,best cars and most fun.
Lovely sounding car, looks amazing too! :)
Oh my... That flat-six sounds INCREDIBLE!

That engine noise, JESUS. It's like the cherubs singing.
It's not even close revving full nut in this vid.
Easily one of the coolest sounding engines
Dude, when they give you a car like that to test, you don't give it back...
You just keep on driving!
Best wishes,
Thelma & Louise
Fantastic video, thank you! :-)
Thanks for the nice video. What a lovely, angry, 911 rally car.
That soundtrack...
A beauty

Is that the one that was on Fifth Gear?
Sounds spectacular!
omg music to my ears!
That thing is a beast. When I hit the lottery it's mine.
It looks and sounds just like it did in the original NFS Porsche game. Nice!
Best looking wheels ever on any car
Suuuperb video! Where is the other part of Richard?! How come he is soo thin!? Well done! Really.
Love to hear what it sells for. Can you update us when it does?

Two things... More classics at EVO, and please some footage with Dickie own 964 RS!!
wtf.... THIS IS AWESOME
Ok, it was Pauli Toivonen, father of Henri, who won the 1969 Acropolis, together with Matti Kolari (btw. kolari is in English crash :)))
That noise...! I just rewatched this video again just to hear it
Same here. Lol xD
Don't think I will do that with my '69 S. But nice to see!
Chris Davies restore it? Sell it at auction? Drive it fast? Sorry,.. Do what with it?
I'm sure I see this on the m4 near london regularly.
270 hp from 2.5 liters wow
apache1234657 In 1972... That's just crazy.
it’s ok the BMW E30 M3 can make 320
Brusco Cappuccino BMW E30 did it in 1986. Porsche did it in 1969. BWM is way behind, Porsche is ahead of the curve.
that sound!!!
They lent it to EVO hoping it would go up in value.Nice video but it ends up feeling like a sales pitch.
Impressive balance
What exhaust?
What a fantastic noise...
Great!
Class
I like it.
If only Porsche go rallying in the current 911
current regulations don't allow for six cylinder engines

Damn, the auction guy looks like Don Henley, of The Eagles.
It's 69' and that's exactly what I would do to it.
Why would I ever use that Ferrari engine as a coffee table?
I really hope the buyer of the Ferrari prototype engine does something better than use it as a coffe table!!
Man thats a bad...that black leather
Very cool 911 indeed. Not worth the near £900,000 that some wally just paid for it though???

The auction guy def know all about those cars, but that intonation wasn't that great. Despite that the whole vid of course was mega!
037 stradale... someone hand me a towel to clean up my druel
I'll be the immature one; ahaha 'S-ex works' 'Sex works'
Sex definitely works. It makes children.
the auction guy's monotonous voice in almost unbearable
"911 sexworks"
i see what they did there
Shame it’s LHD,.. 😜🇬🇧
I bet it's due a £20k engine build. Sod that.
Why. Bottom end is good for 500k
I Lv my 3.2. It’s been thrashed for 15 yrs and still strong.

My 2.0 Mg case and transaxle fine after 50 years of giant killing.
I think this is all wrong I owned the acropolis winning 911 s reg number BPF 911 H which was featured in car and car conversation so this is a fake
