    This video sounds good! Hell yes dude, i’m glad you found the problem.
    Also, way to go dylan. That guy’s awesome.
    About mouth declick: I use it, and i don’t experience any weird artifacting. You’ll probably be able to continue using it if you were to do something like externally process the audio and then bring it into finalcut. Although that’s probably a little scuffed, it would ensure the audio is exported with no weirdness, and in turn i have to assume finalcut would be like “oh, we can export this cuz we don’t have to be the ones who processed it”

    "I am enraged! Enraged, I tell you! Some internet guy's audio contains nearly indistinguishable artifacts! This shall not stand!"
    I wish I was usually listening on a device I could hear nuances like the issues revealed here. My earbuds, or $17 six-letter-Chinese-company-name soundbar, are so mediocre anyway that I always assume the error is on my end of the chain. After that I assume my internet connection is garbage and that's the problem. Then UA-cam...
    Like you said, problem solving starting at the end, there are so many things between your upload and my ears that I wouldn't get around to blaming your file until several steps after I would give up and fix it with my brain by ignoring the artifacts.
    Put out your best content, but give yourself some grace too!

    Wow - the Internet was enraged again?! About sonic artefacts? Mind you, people get enraged about their coffee being in the wrong mug. Well - props to you for locating and resolving the issue - props for caring and for putting out the above video. Keep learning!

    So you ran this down past the AAC issue you guys talked about on the Friday livestream. Good! Yknow part of the reason I started watching years ago was the cool conversations you guys would have about this kind of thing. Reminded me of conversations I hadn’t been having anymore for like 30 years and I realized, I missed them!

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  Місяць тому +2

      Yeah...turned out to be more...as it usually does.
      And yeah...the conversations are fun...not when you experience the problem first hand though...lmao

    Shenanigans! Bring the heat in the replies especially if it’s warranted. 99% of us would never have realized there were artifacts. I do appreciate the push to excellence and maybe we shouldn’t settle for less with audio channels but the real world is imperfect. When we like the quirks we call it character when we don’t we call them problems.

      To be fair it was pretty bad.
      And as I was jokingly comparing the Tank 3 to the u87ai...the eddect was actually diminishing the u87 at an aggressive rate.
      All good though...problem found and fixed

    Im it the studio and i think it sounds great. If it was me i would not use the mouth declick on your voice! You sound fine just the way you are. No artifacts from the render. Im glad you found the problem.

      @kyleethekelt Місяць тому +1

      Agreed. I've heard way worse as far as that goes. You're perfectly fine.

    Suggestion from world of software development. Keep a reference case which you can run through your process whenever something changes (updates, new software, new gear etc). It can be a quick way to ID a problem.

    Awesome! That's good to hear that was the solution. I do have a question though. In mic comparisons or when introducing new mics isn't it better to include recordings without a mouth declicker. I feel like when you use any mouthclicker that changes the raw sound of the mic. Even if it's subtle it totally changes it imo. Maybe it's better not to use it but I don't know. Maybe at least a short segment of the video that's 'purely purely raw with no mouthclicks" just for reference, ie a minute might work.

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah...I am coming to that conclusion.
      Honestly when it was still RX6...it really didnt change any of the high frequencies.
      Since I updated to RX10...it is WAAYYY more destructive.
      I think I will be foregoing all declicking from here on out and just trying to stay as hydrated as possible.
      Tough in the morning...but I am gonna do what I can

    Resolve let's you export in IEEE float with QuickTime h.265 any idea if that uploads well to UA-cam ? As far as your video these headphones I'm listening on if there were mouth clicks I would hear them This set of headphones really brings out siblings and mouth clicks and I'm not hearing that. Everything sounds good to me I don't hear any artifact thing so I think This one sounds pretty good

    I actually really enjoy the raw Mic audio, espically for reference sake. But overall I'm not sure I noticed much other than some of your videos seemingly lacking the low end I'm use dto in a lot of close-mic talking head videos

    You need to switch from Dolby to DBX and only use metal tape.

    Excellent. As always.
    I have to say - Why are folk listening for "artefacts" Instead of listening to the content?
    Have folk become to picky? Is it that noticeable for the masses?
    After all - my mother-in-law can clap out of tune. And it really is quite funny at times?
    Perfection is not the be all and end all. Creation is everything.

    • @DarkCornerStudios
      @DarkCornerStudios  Місяць тому +1

      It's tough...but on comparisons...a good deal of the top end of the mics was being impacted...which meant the comparisons didn't exactly show the true value of the mics

      @@DarkCornerStudios Yeah. I suppose it can be a bit different for doing equipment type reviews?
      Though, I listen the review videos on a pathetic/cheap system, and if the reviewed item still has any interest for me I dig further. But I'm pretty sure the masses (just like me) listen on inferior (as in not Pro?) equipment.
      Still, one can only do ones best with what one has to hand at that given time.
      One can only improve as one goes along and hits these obstacles.

    Funny. I was betting on de-clicker as mine has made my audio wonky as well. I used izotope RX10 and some settings made it worse.

      @@DarkCornerStudios I must say, only in combination with other things. When I changed the order of the effects applied I was able to nearly eliminate it.
