This morning my wife had our first baby, just as the mcm video came out. Naturally the first thing I do with my son is start watching mighty car mods. I am sitting with him and dreaming of the projects we could work on in the future! Keep up the good work!
Thank you guys for actually caring about your fans. Simply taking the time to wish me a speedy recovery shows me you care. I will always be a supporter of you guys.
So a man was riding his snowmobile and it broke down so he called a mechanic to come help him. After looking at the sled, the mechanic says "Looks like you blew a seal, eh?" The man replies "Oh no, that's just frost on my moustache"
To be honest, I didn't even know an Oil Catch Can existed and thanks to you guys, I went and bought one and installed it last night. Thanks haha. It really is so easy to do. The hardest part is finding a place to mount the bloody thing!
The oil fumes of the car I'm currently restoring were going back to the filter of the carburator. As I'm not keen on keeping this stock "system" or letting the fumes and drops fall on the ground (as some people do), I wondered what to do. Now I have one option. HUGE THANKS MARTY & MOOG!
Marty, Moog. You have come so far. Watching your show has been something i look forward too all the time. I love seeing that youtube notification with you guys on it. As i've watched your videos i tried to absorb as much as i could from all you do. I totally noticed that you both talk so much more confidently about the things your doing, and plan to do. A bit unlike back in the day when it was like you two in the garage and maybe a tripod with you. You cover so many more bases in your explinations. Its awesome to watch you guys grow, probably as much as you like knowing your audiences knowledge grows from watching you. Thats some good work!!
Been following you chaps since Season 1, and I have to say EPIC! the content has never been boring, the shows are always fun and entertaining, and the general idea of just showing people it's not really so daunting to go elbows deep under the hood is just MAAAAAAAAD! Welcome back to the Old-School "Genre" and I can't wait to see what crazy stuff you guys have in store this season. Greetings from South Africa! Final EDIT: the post credit scene was just -_- ... hahahahahahahaha... Don't have your family walking past your room with that part on loud... #JustSaying
vallu200 daveao686 the video was filmed after he hurt his hand if you notice he doesnt use his left hand that much, he keeps it still in most places, plus you can see the scarring tissue in parts of the video
I know this is an old video, but there is another reason to have a catch can. If you have a direct injection engine the fuel does not "wash" the intake valve off. This can lead to coking up the intake valve. I am putting a catch can on my 2019 Nissan Altima for that reason.
Big ups guys! Been watching the episodes for a few years now (and i've watched all of 'em again like 7 times), it's amazing how far you've come! Intro's getting more awesome Every time, your mechanic as Well as presentation skills and camera work is really amazing! It's a joy to watch and a real source of inspiration to try fixing things yourself and make your ride Better for less ;) Hope this show keeps existing for many years to come! Love what you're going! A fan from Belgium
You guys should do a video on driver tips. Like how to launch (preferably AWD) and how to double clutch, heel toe etc. But especially launching since marty is good at it
Jeremy Porter they do plenty of track work. I am asking as I have just got into drag racing and rally on the track with my new built baby gramps but I am not too hot at launching. Thanks for your useless comment and maybe try the track sometime
Subaru Boosting Heel toe is no way useful on drag racing, it is on tracks though. Maybe you should check if there already are videos on what your are looking for.
Subaru Boosting 4000 rpm drop the clutch and floor it, adjust as appropriate depending on how much wheelspin you get. Double clutching won't help unless your syncromesh is shot. Heel toe is just blipping the throttle with the side of your foot as you brake for a corner and downshift. There are plenty of vids and tutorials out there.
Marcell Meszaros the transmissions are crap as well, if you're unlucky and you get a crap transmission, the added power of a turbo will snap it like a twig.. im just saying that if its built to handle a turbo (like in the 7's), then its a good candidate for power based mods. the miata was fine to turbo because that engine is also used in factory turbo'd ford lazer.. for another example my friends 79 mazda 626 used the same engine as the ford courier which came factory with high compression pistons.. if its built to handle it out of the factory then is a solid foundation.. i wouldn't trust a turbo d15.. added note** im not complaining about the engine in the rx8, im criticizing the the drive train and handling capability's even though i made no mention of it in my post.. im too tired to edit it to reflect that..
ive done this before on my own cars, but its nice to see them do a new little mod for the viewers! good job guys ! cant get enough of this show honestly its one of my favorite channels on youtube.
That feeling when you sit down with a plate of food and see that your favorite show has a new episode. Idea for next episode: Cheap 2 step launch control installation.
Nick Withford subarus tend to be pretty reliable, especially the non boosted ones. find a forum for that generation of subaru and read up on the common problems they have, and always get a pre purchase inspection!
Nick Withford I had a 2002 Legacy GT Limited and it was unfortunatly totaled, it is by far the favorite car Ive ever owned. That would be an excellent first car, don't listen to everyone that says " it has to be a WRX/STI", its your first car, not your first race car.
RcAviationZulu Yes you can, works just the same. Breather tube comes out by filler neck on most rotarys. Is a must for any rotor that has had the boost raised above stock.
I was like why TF are they wearing sweaters then I remembered... Australia and I just noticed when it was winter over here they were straight up in shorts and idk where I'm going with this
Some wrong info with this video. You can in fact use the pcv location for routing the hose. You can even delete the pcv. not every car has random holes in the rocker cover so the pcv location is the only way. This is more for a turbo car. DO NOT follow this video instruction if you have an N/A car.
MrDruaboyea2U You definitely do not want to delete the pcv valve... The valve has different flow characteristics depending on throttle. If you get rid of it all together you'll be pulling way too much vaccum, thats why everybody has the problem with it filling too fast. Too little vaccum, smoke. Too much, can fills too fast.
MCM iv been watching u guys for 3 years now and im glad u guys posted this vid its nice when u guys do the diy shit. since u got bigger there hasn't been very many lower budget vids posted. it would be nice if u guys can do a monthly budget diy vid. still lovin u guys... just miss the old days even tho we understand theres only soo much diy u can how us before u run out of options.
I know there are plenty of videos showing how to do this install, but this mad video is over 5 years old now, and I'd rather watch Marty and Moog show me how to do it the right way!
GOOD VIDEO !!! GREAT EXPLANATIONS + Great Tips on the " Separate " installations between " PVC Valve " and the " Crank Case " and I agree with that 100% !!!
Catch cans might help with direct injection port fouling, too... They do make catch cans with a bottom port, if you can find somewhere to return the oil you can run it back to the pan and not have to drain it. You can get a pretty slick hose cutter from the hardware store in the drip irrigation supplies nice and cheap Silicone hose is available, braided or not, it will hold up to the heat and the oil and comes in a variety of pretty colors. Braided bends better.
An AOS or catch can works like a natural gas scrubber, or a filter/coalescer. The swirl pot effect helps separate the oil through centrifugal force (scrubber) or use your scourers to "coalesce" the oil out of the gas/vapor stream.
I don't really get the part where you talk about the PCV. To me, the whole PCV system is made of 2 subsystems: the breather (takes clean air from the air box or whatever filtering system you have) to adjust pressure in the engine crank case when it's too low and the output you are describing here, that rejects the extra pressure of the crank case in form of oil vapour. Usually the output port is connected to the intake manifold itself but I'm not familiar with turbos and it would make sense to connect here like a breather so you don't depressurise the manifold. You can also set a dual system up, because in some extreme cases, the blowby gets back through the breather, which is even worst because it would then be sucked in back into the engine through the MAF sensor and throttle body (which looks like your setup actually but again, maybe it's specifi to turbo engines).
I've missed you guys

Going back in time , amazing the changes the garage has had.

I was literally about to comment this! Such an amazing transformation.
And now they have a new one!
This morning my wife had our first baby, just as the mcm video came out. Naturally the first thing I do with my son is start watching mighty car mods. I am sitting with him and dreaming of the projects we could work on in the future!
Keep up the good work!

no better feeling than seeing a new MCM video on your subscription page!
So glad to hear that you guys are going old school for a little while. Interest renewed.
So a man was riding his snowmobile and it broke down so he called a mechanic to come help him. After looking at the sled, the mechanic says "Looks like you blew a seal, eh?" The man replies "Oh no, that's just frost on my moustache"

fordrac1ng81 funny.
stop that! lol
I heard this joke but it was a penguin that brought a car in for repair and while the penguin waited, he went across the street to an ice cream shop.
wtf... was looking for car related memes in the comments but i guess this will do ahaha
To be honest, I didn't even know an Oil Catch Can existed and thanks to you guys, I went and bought one and installed it last night. Thanks haha. It really is so easy to do. The hardest part is finding a place to mount the bloody thing!
The outtakes, and those straight-faced double-entendres... =)
Good to have you back boys.
I have an oil catch can on my '78 Porsche 924, but it's literally a can that catches the oil dripping from the bottom of the engine.
Sam Stoner I need one for my crx
Can you make one for a Harley?
Old British cars and bikes came with them installed from factory.
They cunningly refer to it as the road.

Nice to see moog okay now. Amazing video came for huge help!!
vallu200 The video was filmed before that happened.
vallu200 i have a feeling this was pre i put a drill bit through my hand
vallu200 daveao686 the video was filmed after he hurt his hand if you notice he doesnt use his left hand that much, he keeps it still in most places, plus you can see the scarring tissue in parts of the video
thanks to all of you that you guys had to say it 3 times in row that it was pre filmed. but still ''more you know'' moment....
kyle hubner you can see the scaring on his hand, sorry your wrong.
So glad you guys are back! Mighty Car Mods

How did you guys keep straight faces for that end scene? Hysterical!
It's incredible! Sitting here in Vladivostok I hear you guys responding on Vladivostok citizen request. It's a pleasure ;)
The music that starts around 6:50 sounds like something from a Crash Bandicoot game
Bring back these install videos. Even though I do not do 80% of these mods, I have watched them all 5 times.
Toyota Supra in the intro, nearly every season they use snippets of their own cars in the intros.
Moog 2JZ confirmed?
Rickstaaaa87 Please for the love of god may this be true.
Rickstaaaa87 everyone hype moog 2jz. Even if that wasn't his lets make him buy one and do a build of a na-t
Rickstaaaa87 moog rb30 cinfirmed there were hints in super gramps that moog has a nissan again. at the very least something nissan powered
I dont know why, but I want to see Moog choose Evo instead.
Rickstaaaa87 please lord let this be true
Woohooo!!!! The boys are back! My life has been lacking with no MCM goodness!!!
You guys should do a video on driver tips. Like how to launch (preferably AWD) and how to double clutch, heel toe etc. But especially launching since marty is good at it
Subaru Boosting it's mighty car mods, not mighty lets teach people tricks that they'll try do on a public road and potentially kill someone.
Jeremy Porter they do plenty of track work. I am asking as I have just got into drag racing and rally on the track with my new built baby gramps but I am not too hot at launching. Thanks for your useless comment and maybe try the track sometime

im happy we will start seeing old school mighty mods
Always watch to the very end!
Happy that they are going back to their roots and making videos for DIYers
Please do an episode on hood spacers!
Do they actually help cool the engine bay or is it just for looks?
It literally leaves the bonnet open a little bit it definitely helps
I spaced my hood about 3mm at the very rear and it's definitely made an improvement in cooling.
Watched this again today just for fun. UA-cam and the whole scene of vlogging has changed quite a lot in nine years
Do a RX7 or RX8 build!!!!!!!!
HunterOfWeebs rx8's suck they never came with a factory turbo..
HunterOfWeebs That'd be cool, but we actually want to see a rolling car in the end
bigandfluffy2000 Yes, because unless cars come with a turbo stock, they're shit.
Marcell Meszaros the transmissions are crap as well, if you're unlucky and you get a crap transmission, the added power of a turbo will snap it like a twig.. im just saying that if its built to handle a turbo (like in the 7's), then its a good candidate for power based mods. the miata was fine to turbo because that engine is also used in factory turbo'd ford lazer..
for another example my friends 79 mazda 626 used the same engine as the ford courier which came factory with high compression pistons.. if its built to handle it out of the factory then is a solid foundation.. i wouldn't trust a turbo d15..
added note**
im not complaining about the engine in the rx8, im criticizing the the drive train and handling capability's even though i made no mention of it in my post.. im too tired to edit it to reflect that..
bigandfluffy2000 Neither did gramps.
Diy oil Cooler? I'm glad that you guys are getting back to the real diy mods.
Feels weird being here so early...
The subtitles for the acronyms were very helpful, gang. Awesome episode as always.
13:55 close your eyes and soak in the majesty.
Sooooo it's been two weeks... I miss you guys! I need a maaaad MCM fix and I need it soon!
Show us how to install a catch can for pubes.
It's summer and I'm shedding buckets of pubes.
Im glad to see you guys back
MCM or haggard garage? Sorry haggard had to watch MCM first lol
ive done this before on my own cars, but its nice to see them do a new little mod for the viewers! good job guys ! cant get enough of this show honestly its one of my favorite channels on youtube.
Sleep? Nah, MCMs comes first!
Still watching this 2019!! Just epic, edit, music, content and friendship 👊🏻😎
They forgot to jack up the car
Gotta love watching the old videos
Can you guys Please PLEASE show us moogs car
Rewatch the intro...
DUB Productions ?
2jz confirmed!
Brett Farmer
At the end of the intro where they're in the parking lot, there's a gray Supra in the background which could possibly be moog's
DUB Productions true but i just want to know
Good Job on the new intro guys it looks and sounds fantastic! Keeping it fresh!
It's been a while, can we get an update on how much oil it actually collected?
10
it collected 10 oils
dang it, my guess was 2πr.
As much as the americans out of a middle east oilfield in 1 nanosecond
Glad to see Moog is able to help Marty work on the car again :D
I dont have a high performance vehicle, so this would be good for older high mileage cars that probably have worn out seals?
Yes.
Really any car im finding
Glad you guys are back! Hopefully can see the oldschool mcm back in action
the ontage at the end reminded me of howtobasic
How???
I don't see any smashed eggs
Same with me :o
Mighty car mods is my absolute favorite thing to watch ever I just wish you guys could do more uploads!
What a fancy fuck catch can. Meanwhile our team's racecar uses a super light Asahi Beer can.
That feeling when you sit down with a plate of food and see that your favorite show has a new episode.
Idea for next episode: Cheap 2 step launch control installation.
Any opinions on the 2002 impreza as a first car?
Nick Withford GO FOR IT!!!
Nick Withford subarus tend to be pretty reliable, especially the non boosted ones. find a forum for that generation of subaru and read up on the common problems they have, and always get a pre purchase inspection!
Nick Withford wrx would be maaad, but the 2.5 rs of that generation probably isn't the one you wanna buy.
Nick Withford I had a 2002 Legacy GT Limited and it was unfortunatly totaled, it is by far the favorite car Ive ever owned. That would be an excellent first car, don't listen to everyone that says " it has to be a WRX/STI", its your first car, not your first race car.
ThisAccountIsNeverUsed as in theres nothing wrong with it? yes, that is correct.
Let’s hope all the old mcm content stays on the interballs for ever 😎
can i put a catch can on my rotary?
Not sure would it work on a n/a BMW Z4?
I don't think there are any areas on the engine that vent like a normal four stroke. No crank case or valve train to worry about.
RcAviationZulu Yes you can, works just the same. Breather tube comes out by filler neck on most rotarys.
Is a must for any rotor that has had the boost raised above stock.
RcAviationZulu People do... I haven't bothered. Usually when people delete emission control stuff and run pre-mix.
cheers guys
Nice to see you back Moog
hey kids wanna buy a sparco wheel

I was like why TF are they wearing sweaters then I remembered... Australia and I just noticed when it was winter over here they were straight up in shorts and idk where I'm going with this
It's cold af here right now. Rain all day everyday.
Up here in Queensland it's perfect weather, a little bit cool at night but about 25 degrees all day
Its so shit down here in nsw raining all week freezing night and day
88supra719 Well it's summer in Finland and it's cold as fuck. And we're not even upside down
+Dubproductions 25 degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Mighty Car Mods
Thanks for the video. You guys are awesome!
I was having MCM Withdrawal symptoms... but this videos gonna get me through the night
Too much, can fills too fast.
congrats on the new shop guys!
Now tell the folks that they cant dispose that catched oil on the streets but use a proper way to throw it away.
KronosSlots you sound like so much fun
Connor finch haha
new intro has cow bell. 10/10 amazing work guys
MCM iv been watching u guys for 3 years now and im glad u guys posted this vid its nice when u guys do the diy shit. since u got bigger there hasn't been very many lower budget vids posted. it would be nice if u guys can do a monthly budget diy vid. still lovin u guys... just miss the old days even tho we understand theres only soo much diy u can how us before u run out of options.
been way tooo loongg !! glad u guys are back !!
We want you guys back on your mums driveway! I don't know why but those episodes are just more fun to watch for some reason.
Waited too long for this. Now I can't wait for the next one!
I know there are plenty of videos showing how to do this install, but this mad video is over 5 years old now, and I'd rather watch Marty and Moog show me how to do it the right way!
Loved the old school coming back! Its an awesome way to learn and I would say this video was even better at the instructional/learning aspect!
Catch cans are a great mod, they do help with the longevity of the engine
I just need to move to Australia and hangout with Marty and Moog I'm tired of not seeing them for weeks!
Electric Space Wizard is still the best video ever! That intake will NEVER rust now, lol.
GOOD VIDEO !!! GREAT EXPLANATIONS + Great Tips on the " Separate " installations between " PVC Valve " and the " Crank Case " and I agree with that 100% !!!
I got a better Can for $14.97 with free shipping. It works for my case... I made a Video here: ua-cam.com/video/o5yoZhG__L4/v-deo.html
Welcome back guys !
7:57 Thank you so much for the clarification in regards to the PCV system.
Lots of love for you guys from us at Krankenwagen Euro Specialist in Miami we love your videos and you guys are awesome keep it up..
The boys are back.
Love the new intro , and school is over!!!!
Love the new intro too. Sadly school isnt over til the 26th for me:(
Don't worry school will help us become successful and drive/own mad cars
Ya
Mighty Car Mods are you guys going to do a garage tour? The new cabinets and racks seem awesome!
Catch cans might help with direct injection port fouling, too...
They do make catch cans with a bottom port, if you can find somewhere to return the oil you can run it back to the pan and not have to drain it.
You can get a pretty slick hose cutter from the hardware store in the drip irrigation supplies nice and cheap
Silicone hose is available, braided or not, it will hold up to the heat and the oil and comes in a variety of pretty colors. Braided bends better.
I love watching your vids both new and old. Good advice and no bullshit + some good laughs along the way.
MIGHTY MOD BALLS IS BACK BABY
This is my favourite youtube channel
Hello to MCM from Vladivostok, Russia=)
About 96% of traffic in our city is japan cars, and we proud of it.
Weloce MCM, we'll show you how to JDM!
Thanks a million guys. I had oil in the VAF of my Festiva (Mazda 121) and couldn't figure out why. Gonna try this.
An AOS or catch can works like a natural gas scrubber, or a filter/coalescer. The swirl pot effect helps separate the oil through centrifugal force (scrubber) or use your scourers to "coalesce" the oil out of the gas/vapor stream.
Oh man I love you guys. Just figured out why my R32 is pushing out the dipstick.
It's been more than two weeks! NEW VIDEO ALREADY!
I liked the old driveway mods episodes, please do more vids like this!
Good Job! The new garage is awesome! Congrats!
Very informative! Thanks guys. I actually learned from the internet today.
Moog and Marty, you guys rock !! This is MAD !!!
