I just bought a 2022 pilot and I am so happy with it , I still prefer the 22 over the 23 . I love the looks ,design ,comfort, performance and interior of the 22 . I understand that Honda feels the need to upgrade but the 22 is still an amazing suv. Thank you for the video, very informative. God bless everyone

Come on Honda, redesigning the whole engine to gain 5 more hp! That could be achieved by a larger exhaust pipe on the J series engine . Now if they had swapped the belt for chain that would be worthy of praise.

I didn't even really know that the pilot existed until the 2023 model came out. And now that I bought a 2023 pilot trailsport I see pilots everywhere!

Really good video man. Thanks very much for going through the interior. Everybody else just shows it off. I'm impressed by whatever type of lens you're using lol it gives a real pov from those seats.

Currently trying to decide between the 2. I think I prefer the 2022 interior but 2023 exterior. I’m coming from a 2013 CRV and I love my arm rest and “garage door” center console, so disappointed to see that go away. I also don’t prefer the look of the infotainment screen sticking up, but perhaps it is functionally better. I think my biggest hold back with the 2022 pilot is the body style is similar enough to what I have now, it doesn’t excite me.

One thing that should be mentioned that no review seems to - the reverse lights. The 2022 has 5 LED emitters that shine a bright cool white light temperature while the 2023 regressed to a whopping 1 halogen warm temperature colour.

I currently own the 3rd Gen pilot and I love almost everything about it, minus the minivan styling. I really like the 4th Gen pilots’s front end, the rest of the truck is basically a dodge Durango which is a 🤮to me. The new pilot would give you a much more fun driving experience if they would have kept vtec.

Why? Your vehicle is only 1 year old. Don't waste your money. I would wait at least 3 years before considering purchasing a new Pilot. By that time the newer Pilots will be even better and more desirable then the 2023 model.

I have a 2015 Pilot Special Edition and just ordered a 2023 Pilot Trailsport (~1.5 month wait). I'm in SE Louisiana and was given a price of $59,363 (this includes all taxes, docs, etc). I was given a base price of $54,090 (before taxes, doc, etc). What are you seeing for prices?

The push button shifters are far preferred to me. They are easy to get used to and do not get in the way of your phone or drinks like a stick shifter does.. Honda's return to shifter in CR-V and Accord was a step backwards, but I guess some people just have to grab something.

    Not here to be disagreeable
But, there's a big difference in these engines. The j series has evolved over the last 20 years, but now this engine has moved to DOHC non Vtec. So it's completely new heads, 2 cams, cam phasers, and new fuel rail injection setups. Point is, it's often that with changes come unforseen problems and 1st model years typically have some bugs to work out. Just a little food for thought.

Even though you went out the way to give the different trim level disclaimer to avoid complaints… I’m gonna complain any way.
I hate that you gave a disclaimer just to keep me from complaining.
    That’s it… that’s my complaint. Carry on… 😂🤣

I have a 2021 Passport (full disclosure) -but the 2023 Pilot has 2 deal-breakers for me. The removal of iVTEC (yes, that's a word visionary, one you don't really use-hehe). I just think VTEC is a proven technology by Honda, and it's mechanical in it's nature. The second are the fake exhaust tips. Not for that kind of money. That almost makes me angry that Honda chose fake tips on the Pilot. I do like the tail lights on the 2023 more than the 2022, but not the front end (the square flat grill) it feels like it's going backwards in design. I like my Japanese vehicle to look distinctly Japanese, not domestic, but that's just me.✌ Peace Viz!

Agreed. I never understood why people want everything to look the same. From the side, the 2023 Pilot looks very close to the 2023 Durango. FYI I have a 2021 Pilot EXL.

I sat in one at our local car show, I was not impressed with the 2023 tech is still old school, after seeing whats possible for the more desirable EVs bringing more tech you would think Honda and Toyota would get their act together. In this day and age whats the tachometer for? Its an automatic right? wasted space. I was also disappointed to see Honda still uses the auto stop start and it defaults to on. I thought for sure they would make it default to off and push to turn on as nobody I know likes putting extra wear and tear on their engine with starting and stopping it during your journeys. Seriously not impressed.

    • @americangto
      @americangto Рік тому

More desirable EVs?... I get that EVs are the future but we are not there yet. They are too expensive for most people and the infrastructure isnt there yet. California wants to go all EV but their power grid cant even handle people using their AC units without having brown outs. A two EV home uses as much power as six AC units to fully charge overnight. Not to mention the horrid child labor used to mine the material used for the batters. As far as the tachometer, it is still very useful when using paddle shifters or using engine braking when crossing mountain passes. The start/stop feature is annoying but vehicles with that feature incorporate electric oil pumps to keep things lubricated between stops. It's not the same as starting the car the first time.
