The horns are absolutely incredible, I can't believe they're made out of foam. The level of detail and the complex 3D shape you got makes them look 3D printed
Those are so cool and I can't wait to see the finished cosplay! I am going to make my own pair of tiefling horns for a costume for renfair so this is a great tutorial thank you
Very nice result on these complex shapes! I like the fact that you didn't go the easy route with 3D printing and made it all by hand. I think it feels more organic. Thanks for sharing all of that build with us and courage for the rest of the costume! It looks like a lot of work because of all the details, but seeing how handled the horns, I have no doubt you'll succeed making the entire costume and that the result will be great! (that's what I think of your past costumes!) Just a step at time and in no time you'll have climbed that mountain without even realizing it! :D Stay safe! Cheers from France!
These horns are so badass!!! This is the first video I've seen of yours and I am so glad it came up in my feed, Amazing work and soooo satisfiying to watch. Thank you for doing what you do
Awesome job, and you didn’t say it but I will- the lettering came out way better than I thought it would. It’s quite legible even considering I don’t read the language.
I see a lot of creators using painters tape for patterning recently. Isn't a cloth tape like duct tape easier to form for rounded pieces? I feel like painters tape wrinkles and doesn't have quite the same give for complex curves, especially horns.
painters tape has been a staple of pattern making for decades, it's been used for camo painting on military vehicles and equipment as well as to outline symbols, numbers, letters and much more. so it's nothing new and it's more reliable if you are careful with your pattern designs
@@thomaswakefield6889 I wouldn't argue that it's fantastic for flat painting, as you mention on vehicles and outlining. That's definitely true. The only painters tape I've found that excelled for anything curved or rounded is Tamiya tape, as far as painting complex curved surfaces. Pretty pricy for anything larger than model kits though. Costuming especially though, I've always found duct tape to be easier to wrap for spikes, horns, prop weapons. And many of the creators on UA-cam & IG have made duct tape patterns until very recently. Kamui, Odin Makes, Evil Ted as examples.
only part that confused me is you said you wanted the edges to be sharp on the horn and cut it so they would be sharp... then you just dremeled them smooth
Amazing work on the pair as a whole Brit, but I gotta say... The crack/core texture detail on the broken one is sooo good! Well done!!!
That’s my favorite part too!

Oh hey, perfect. I'm about to make horns for a satyr costume. I'll for sure be using some of these techniques!
That’s great! If you haven’t watched it yet, check out Steve’s video too: ua-cam.com/video/xgRUt2baRZc/v-deo.htmlsi=tqW1nKvxu-135x92
Its has been my ambition to make a Darkness from Legend costume for 30 some years. Watching this is making want to try now. Nice work
You can do it!
Bringing memories of sweeper bot! Glad to see you cutting and gluing again. No offence Bill loved your horn tutorial too
Foam builds are such a blast :D
love seeing that one can export for paper forms!
beautiful sculpted results!
The horns look great! Definitely a fun character for cosplay.
Thank you!
Freakin' incredible work Britt. Nice to see the techniques for fixing the issues too.
Brit you are my favorite foamsmith!! You’re a master of shape, texture, finishing - soooo good!!
Awe, thank you so much!
These look awesome! I'm excited to see the finished product. I hope to see you both at Dragon Con this year!
Thanks! Dragon Con is gonna be off the chain this year!
Love the horns, and especially you keeping in the segment working around/ correcting the issue with the swoopy part of the horn!
Thanks so much!
I loved the video, the texturing, the text, but I especially love how you reffered to the bits on the root of the horn as little dudes.
Awesome work, woah! 🔥🔥💪
Will the flat pattern be available for purchase? It looks so great! 🖤
They are awesome, fantastic results

The horns look fantastic. I really like the textures you achieved with the broken horn.

This is AMAZING timing. I just finished up my tail and was so unsure of how I was going to do her horns
Oh perfect!
Good techniques! Good looking! Oh, and the horns look good too.
These horns look incredible! Amazing work!

Came out great! Love the display of props in the background!
We love having all our past projects on the walls, it's very inspiring.
@@punishedprops I purchased your books and it was a great help when my daughter and I built her first cosplay outfit and weapon a few years back!
These turned out great! Good job Brit!
Thanks!
Cool. Love the work you and Bill do.
Thanks so much!
These turned out awesome, and you made it look easy
Thanks!
They look awesome!
Strong start! So stoked to see how this progresses.
It's gonna be so much fun!
I haven't gotten a chance to play bg3 but I can already tell Karlach is gonna be my favorite. She's just so awesome!
She’s such a great buddy
Goddamn loved watching the finesse throughout the entire video!🔥 keep it up! Been sub for years
Awe, thanks!
Those look awesome great job Brit
Thank you so much!
Woah! I didn't know my favorite 3D software had a paper model export.
Cool tip, Britt. Thanks.
You're welcome! :)
Such talent and skill. That's gorgeous 😍😍
Thank you!
Looking good, Soldier.
HA! Thanks! =D

It's surprising how detailed you can get with foam.
Such talent and skill 😍😍
Thanks!

awesome!! i cant wait for the next Brit video!!
Thanks!
I had no idea she had text on her horns! This is so cool!
These look fantastic Britt, the textures are so good
Thank you so much! =D
Super satisfying build.
Awesome work, these turned out great!
Thanks so much!
Awesome, positive and really enjoyable. Thank you.
You're most welcome!
They look great!
Thank you!
Really great build.
Thank you!
Very nice work! Particularly, the broken horn. Could you comment on why you chose Mod Podge over a thicker primer/filler like Kilz?
We've never heard of Kilz. We've always had really good success with Mod Podge and other PVAs.
nice work
They came out amazing! Your hot knife work is amazing. Do you happen to know what temperature you set yours to?
Thanks! We turn up the hot knife temperature as high as it’ll go.
Looks great!!
Thanks!
Hey Brit,
Bill should pay attention on this, a worthy opponent in the prop making...
Excellent work
Thanks!
Awesome, you are a sculptress Britt
Awe, thanks ☺️
YAAAAY TIEFLING BRIT!!
So stoked!
Any chance you’re going to upload the template?
The original pattern ended up getting modified as the horns were finished, so it isn't really useable.
Is there a download link for the final pattern you made for sale?
No, I didn’t get a reusable pattern out of my attempt 😞
yay Brit!
Thanks!
Amazing cosplay tips !!!
Thanks!
@@punishedprops u are welcome
only part that confused me is you said you wanted the edges to be sharp on the horn and cut it so they would be sharp... then you just dremeled them smooth
Ya, that was confusing-by sharp I meant I wanted angles. Gluing the foam edges flat together would have made a cylinder horn, instead of angular
awesome!
Thanks!
Is there a reason to not use the papercraft template directly to transfer to foam?
Pattern has to be adjusted for foam thickness.
Yeah, my paper craft was pretty janky and low-poly.
Cool
Buy my hoooorns!
Hoorrrrrrrrrrrns!
SPIKEY DUDES?! COME GUYS.....DO YOU HAVE TO BE SO TECHNICAL.....Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! DO THE HORNS GO.......PEW, PEW, PEW BY ANY CHANCE?
If only! :D
