Buckeye here. Thank you for what you said about us. Be proud Irish. Against any other team, Ohio State would have had two more touchdowns. Your defense played very well. You have a great future and we completely respect you.

You are actually the first Ohio State fan that isn’t talking crap. To be honest I only dislike Ohio State because of the fans and not the team. But at least you aren’t talking crap in the comments like every other Ohio State fan is

Here let me change that. You people can talk crap but when it gets thrown back at you get sensitive? Too bad 89 years and counting. If we wouldn't have been so conservative with our play calling we would have put a 50 burger on you. You guys didn't belong there. Texas Oregon and Tennessee are better than you guys. You played a pussy schedule and had the easiest path to the final game. Just like the reporter said about your locker room being a bunch of amateurs. Your team was as well.

@@Dmb596 I'll waste the breath for you spaceman, but I respect your POV. This kind of sentiment, reaction (like, this is an ND channel, why are you even here??), and just general weirdness (saw SO much of it at the game; sat near a dude who must have been approaching 50 (or maybe just a hard OHIO 40) just screaming profanities and insults at the players like he had lost his mind with his two young boys on either side of him) is why your coach had to get 24-hour police protection for his CHILDREN after the Michigan loss. Some of you have serious problems...as my grandfather used to say, get it checked out. As far as playcalling, OSU ran it up on everyone else, but according to you, they just decided not to in the big show against us? Just shut up. Here's what's real: You guys paid 25 mil for your team (we made 20 just being there lol), and you won. Nice work, you were the best team, no doubt about it. Maybe go celebrate with humans you know (if that's a thing for you), or on OSU message boards (if it's not). I can't even imagine winning a championship and then randomly spending my time in hostility rather than celebration on another team's board/content. Anyway, on brand for OSU. I don't share the diplomacy of my fellow ND fans. OSU fans in my experience are the absolute bottom of the barrel worst. It's a toilet of a fan base, and yeah, maybe that's a vocal minority I just happened to have experienced because you got my guy above saying reasonable stuff, but it's so vocal it taints the brand. Have fun oscilating between threatening the lives of your coach's children and then talking shit on opponent youtube channels about how great your team is. I, on the other hand, love my team, win or lose, where they talk about faith, brotherhood, sacrifice, and the people that make it all matter. I'd rather bathe in a tub of razors and salt than go to an OSU website after an ND championship win. Talk about losing by winning man. You should get help. Love thee Notre Dame.

Tyler- you've been the first listen all season for me, and I think you capture the ND alum perspective better than anyone. I especially enjoy your shows with Luke. Thank you, thank you for doing this show. As a somewhat obsessed fan since 1980 and 1986 alumnus, I cannot remember a more resilient Irish team than this one. Think about it - not just a bad loss early on, not just more injuries to key players than I can ever remember, but everything from potentially game-changing crappy calls from refs to a terrorist attack and shortened week of prep, this team was a no-excuses, all-fight group that got it done (almost). An amazing season and I agree with you 100 percent about Riley Leonard. He's been the embodiment of the Notre Dame spirit. Keep up the great work and condolences on your friend.

Great season fun to watch I’m sure the haters and the pessimistic Irish fans who can’t open their minds will try to find ways to tear it down but overall this season showed that ND can compete on the big stage against anyone. Injuries ultimately caught up to them and they ran into a team who was able to exploit them. Respect to Ohio st that’s a great team but ND is legit and has only good things in their future so if you truly love the Irish you should be excited.

Excellent episode. Your comments at the end are well measured and the most realistic I have heard. I believe that ND can make the playoff 8 out of 10 years (not every year as you said). I believe what helped them this year is the novelty. The first home game helped. The pressure not being favored helped. The week off helped. The lack of a mental barrier helped. This was a wonderful ND season. I agreed with you COMPLETELY post the Northern Illinois loss. I had ZERO confidence that they could win out because Freeman's longest winning streak was FIVE games! Hats off to your program this season.

It was a magical season for all ND fans. The 12 team playoff is an absolute success, ND had to navigate the most difficult path in CF history outside of Ohio State this yr. We also saw how large the gap is, over the last 2 recruiting cycles we have the # 10 & # 12 classes. That isn't close to good enough to win a championship, Ohio St had between 10-15 5 🌟 and ND had maybe 2 5 🌟 player's.
We also need to have a QB that is capable of throwing the football to our playmakers!!

Riley Lenord’s post-game pressor had this Buckeye getting watery when I watched it. I know that there are many Ohio State players that are conjoined with Riley in the convictions he articulated. I’ve said that it is too bad that the Russian/Ukraine war cannot have two losers. Both governments are despicable. Given the quality of these kids, it is a shame that this game couldn’t have had two winners.

I have no ties whatsoever to the state of Ohio but have been avfan of Ohio State since the early seventies because of titans like Woody Hayes and Archie Griffin. I am 66, far older than most of your listeners/viewers.
I have to give Notre Dame tremendous credit. Down by the brobdingnagian score of 31-7 it looked all over but the Irish put on a valiant rallly and had this senior citizen soiling his adult diapers! Okay, that part about the diapers WAS a joke. Happily, I am in full control of my micturation station!
Congratulations to Notre Dame for having a grat season. You guys have a brilliant young coach and have many good days to look forward to.
One request, however. Can you please get Lou Holtz , put tape across his mouth and stick him in a closet!

Great to see fight from this team at the end but damn, our defense who has been stout all year completely let us down especially in the first half how many 3rd and 7 or so did they give up a passing first down, then I agree the play calling on the 3 plays before the field goal was awful but then jeter proceeds to miss basically a off centered extra point was atrocious. I was so proud of the offense for not giving up when the defense was getting worked and Riley #13 actually played one of his best games all year except some bad missed throws. The missed fake punt to I was not a big fan of but come on you gotta make that catch and the drive continues. It was very unfortunate to see our defense be the one to completely let us down except for a great play to cause the fumble and 1 single punt. Then to not even give your offense one more chance when they throw a 55 yard pass on 3rd and 11 like my goodness that defensive play call.

So disappointed in so many plays that game. That rj oven penalty felt like such a gut punch. I’m proud of the boys they defied all odds and I definitely feel like notre dame was the best team this year. They just didn’t play well. Even that play where smith caught it down the field. Watts stuttered on that play which caused a chain reaction on the o line, gave them enough time to block everyone. He’s not supposed to stutter in that play. If he goes straight then there’s no one to block him. Trevon blocked Kiser and watts would have been open for that sack. Can’t put the blame on gray, he did his assignment, he blocked the inside of the field which would have permitted a quick throw on a slant or in route. Howard wasn’t supposed to have enough time to throw it deep. So disappointed honestly, this loss hurts so much. Gg Ohio and congrats, Irish will be back🍀🍀

I posted this on another platform… I went to 4 games this year A&M, Virginia, Orange Bowl and Natty. For VA game I was 3rd row 40yd line behind IRISH bench and can say that Golden missed several looks that I felt were obvious mismatches. I assumed I was missing something- but they resulted in several break outs for VA and ultimately 14 points.
Just saying… Clark Lea was a great DC and I think Mitch will also be… Good luck to Al if he decides to go back to Cincinnati

It just looked like they weren't getting to him.The way they was getting to previous quarterbacks.I thought the defense of coordinator had the coach an exceptional game.I've been once this game was scheduled.I knew they had to have their best outpouring defensively. They had to be able to get to the quarterback and stop the run at bear minimum. If he passes, he passes, but you gotta stop the running. You have to disturb his rhythm and get to him

It aint a little bit better pass up, but they also need somebody with that toughness.I don't think you could miss Jack judge his toughness. You need that at a quarterback level to be successful on any level. But especially high caliber college football. Whoever comes in, he can't be a statue.Stand back there a quarterback , waiting to see what reads open and

The long and the short!…the team with the better personnel won. That in and of itself is the conundrum. HOW IS THIS CORRECTIBLE? ND has recruited as well as they seem capable of, short of becoming a football factory, WHICH personally I will never support. It is not coaching or game planning, I’ve been around football all of my life. It is simply players. As Bobby Bowman so aptly put it. “It is not about the X’s and O’s it is about the Jimmys and Joes”. And as a further note: I am not taking anything away from this team. They literally left NOTHING on the field.

I really wish we could’ve seen ND go do the TD rather than the field goal. That field goal angle wasn’t ideal and we were close to the end zone. I believe Marcus Freeman made the wrong call there and he was playing it safe.

I really didn't mind this loss. Not sure if it's because I expected it or because it was very very likely they were going to lose according to the numbers or just because I'm just not worshiping ND. Either way, I still love ND and they are my only college football team but I just don't revolve my schedule around them like I used to.

Moving forward: we will be a more explosive team on offense because CJ Carr or Angeli will open things up. Sorry, love R.Leonard but I knew things would get much harder as we played better teams in the playoffs. He played his heart out and I’m glad we had him but a duo QB system should’ve been installed! Freeman let his pride get in the way because he was 100% invested into Leonard! I was saying all year that we have to have a passer because it opens up the running game!
I by no means am disrespecting Riley Leonard or Freeman, they both did a great job! Freeman and Dembrock dropped the ball with the QB! Every time Angeli came in it was clear! Night and day difference in the passing game from R.Leonard. I honestly think we’ll not only be better next year, but much better and probably the team to beat in college football! Love Freeman and how he’s coached up this team and I know we’ll get that natty soon!

OSU was too big, too stong, too fast! NFL talent going up against college kids! Nice run ND but OSU took their foot off gas in 3rd Q. Could have scored another 3 TD if they wanted to.

Yeah I mean i'm i'm static that those guys are hurt especially the ones coming back. What naughty understand what it is to be in that big big moment and I think it's only going to serve wealth in them down a road. If they are to return there, which I think they will would have a great chance. But let's look at the other things that they have come When no one expected them to even advance this far they made They secure a twenty million dollar bag. Recruit has went up ecstatically. They're gonna be fine

Beating Georgia doesn't really count. That was a shell of Georgia without the QB and even he wasn't that good. They played well vs Ohio State, but they weren't the better team. Hope they do well next year.

Osu only saying ND has heart because they won. I told ND fans their D wasnt better than Mich. The format was layed out. 2 high safeties, light box and play zone, man and zone/man. 3rd and 7 and you run a 0 blitz and leave Smith 1on 1. That was dumb.😂😂 Oregon Tenn Texas ND all ran what dont work against OSU. Congrats to OSU as a mich fan.

Notre Dame couldn't run the ball for most of the game. If I was calling the game I would have tried a few screen passes to Jeremiah Love. They never threw the ball once to him.

If you say it out at this point you know that these people are just being real stupid, you know what I mean to put it plainly. You know, d*** well from looking at that team and watching that fight that this is a way different type of tea. M, most of the national media pundits even said that so let's stop it. You know what I mean, these kids? This is a different brand of kids and coaching as well. And they're gonna be tasked with coming out from the jump next year. With all the players healthy more more than likely for good recruits. Just showed up in tidal areas date. They gonna be fine , man
