I love how this series shows that the NCR can be a competent fighting force and a serious threat to minor factions.
I mean yeah, A lot of people bash on the NCR but keep in mind that they unified New California under one flag and California is not a small state (it is about 163,696 square miles and is ranked the 3rd largest state in the US)
It is the SOLE major faction. Caesar had to send lanius east to find more tribes to integrate into the legion, just so he could have a second go at the damn.
The NCR in the meantime reduced it´s mojave presence to a mere occupation force.
This is a nationstate in a world of tribes and militias

Only reason they won against west coast BOS is pure manpower
New Vegas does emphasise how they're spread kinda thin over their territory, but mentions how they rightly wipe the floor with their enemies when they get organised like at hoover dam and helios one. I think they would've loved to show some of it in gameplay, if they had more time and an engine less ramshackle than megaton
@@sunkistmanLol. They reduced the West Coast BOS to only its bunker, and they even wiped out half of all Mojave BOS personnel before the metalheads retreated. The entire West Coast BOS including the Mojave is left a remnant of its former self.
I'm fully convinced that the lone red beret sniper who damages the jetpacks is Boone. I don't know if he was at Helios One, but it's just so fitting.
It’s been a while since I’ve played New Vegas, but a quick cursory glance at Boone’s wiki page doesn’t say he was deployed during Operation Sunburst…but it also doesn’t say he wasn’t.

For those wondering, the NCR wasn't planning to strand the Assault Jetpack squad up there! In WIP 9, when the NCR CO get updated, he says it doesn't matter, so long as they buy time. Which means that genius idea to shoot the fuel lines and damage the jet packs was one guy's intelligent improvisation.
That's why this whole series is so good: everyone is treated like thinking people, and even just one guy on the bleeding edge can make a huge difference if he figures out the right thing to do at the right moment. They're not dumb AI following game programming, just shooting and being shot at.
And it is GREAT to see how fallout combat went in your head getting turned into real media.
Exactly. I am pretty sure the plan on the flanks was to draw out slow infantery forces that would take too long to get back to repell the main attack, so those jetpack units were not expected.

I thought the Paladin would still try to use the jetpack and blow up. Cool of him to have the INT to not get himself exploded to bits and pieces.
Not sure trying to start the jetpack again would blow him up, it looks like the fuel drained, meaning it would just not work if they tried to use them again, like trying to start a car with no gas
@@thedappercrow5882 it would tho.If he tries to use jetpack, he will get spark AND open flame literally next to leak which will lead to explosion.
Now IRL tech would probably have failsafes to prevent things from working when it detects leak...but it's fallout tech. And they don't care about safety in fallout.
@thedappercrow5882 that would be the case for a car, but this is a *jetpack*. The fuel that is leaking could be detonated by the pack's exhaust/afterburner if they try to use it, hence the possibility of blowing up

realistically, the fuel may very well have drained before their orders to fall back. Therefor, his intelligence to observe their condition was more likely regarding their being out of gas, rather than detonation.
I mean, given how they were using flamethrowers, and the sparks from ricocheting bullets, I honestly expected the jetpacks to explode. Though I do enjoy that it wasnt that simple to put them down.

@@dividewalker5673 I must respectfully disagree, T-51b suits were designed to withstand being in the proximity of tactical nuclear explosives. I highly doubt a standard warhead would do more than dent the plating, that being said bring enough of them and of course they will work. It's also annoying to see such competence from the NCR here and now... but by the time we the Courier get to meet them they couldn't hold out against anything the Mojave threw at them, goes to show how mismanagement can ruin any army...

I love the fact that this shows the NCR countering the BOS power armor despite their weaker weapons, taking out the fuel pipes, moving up the infantry when the heavy guns turn to suppress the snipers, *Chefs Kiss* Bravo as always.
NCR has artillery.... I think I read somewhere in the game or wikias that they shelled the shit out of the BOS before assaulting in Operation Sunburst.

@@ProjectEkerTest33 I may have mixed things up, it's been a long time since I played the game. So you are probably correct as I don't remember Helios being damaged in the game.
But what I was trying to say is that NCR has big guns and we even know they have a mechanized division (although we don't know the type of vehicles in it), and for the artillery we already seen them operating various types in the game itself.
Kinda interesting the quality of troop the BOS paladin is compared to their average foot soldier. Like the foot troopers seem like incompetent meat shields. Though that could be chalked up they are inexperienced idk.

It's extremely impressive how the NCR manages tactics here.
1: Conducting night raids to disrupt defenses and gauge enemy strength - they took losses, sure, but got information and killed a bunch of non-PA BoS grunts, as well as mapping out the enemy positions.
2: When the commando raid fails, bringing in the main army to take the position the hard way.
3: While the main charge under cover of sandstorms takes losses, it draws the attention of the enemy, allowing flanking forces to cut off the Paladins from ammunition and drawing out enemy reserves.
4: The Assault Squad was essentially the only reserve the BoS had, since they're instead pulling Paladins off the front to defend a different flank. This lets the commander gauge the enemy strength against a serious assault and tells him that he only needs time to be bought by the flanks even if they're taking heavy fire.
5: With the main enemy split up and distracted, the main force comes in - trench raiders and snipers as well as heavy weapons support. The trench raiders bust open the weakened defensive line with snipers cleaning up the MG positions and further dividing the attention of the Brotherhood.
6: If I had to guess, I'm gonna say that next up we're going to start seeing rocket and AMR fire, potentially AT grenades as well, directed against the Paladins now that they're completely occupied shooting at conscripts who don't have the capacity to crack their armor. The Paladins are also likely to start running low on ammo.
I imagine those Psycho Shock-troopers could be raiders--offered a reprieve from prison and all the psycho they can handle in exchange for the most dangerous possible combat assignments.
And if the ncr lied and threw them back in jail it could be a really cool origin story for the ncrcf and cook’s powder gangsters
I think they are elite forces like Italian storm troopers in WW I, but prisoners.
i mean, you cold grab a bunch of fiend inmates, give them psycho, and tell them they'll get more if they survive a full front charge agaisnt the enemy.
Could be a penal battalion of sort.

@@dionjaywoollaston1349 that still isn’t a good reason for them all to be out of cover, especially since they’re on the defensive and know that that’s the direction the NCR are coming from.
Possibly the best portrayal of the NCR. However limited they are technologically, they have the manpower to backup their assaults. Facing a technologically superior enemy they use those numbers to flank and attack from multiple locations, death by a thousand cuts, witling down their basic troops to focus on the larger threat. When things go wrong they use cunning to cut off those outliers and effectively trap them. Amazing work as always
I wouldn't even necessarily call them "technologically limited", given they seem to be roughly on-par with the US Military in the mid 1950s.

ehh only kinda. They have 50s guns, but their uniforms, logistics, etc are def 1920s. I would barely count their force as motorized, much less mechanized as the US was in the 50s. The NCR has practically no tanks, and a handful of vertibirds for CAS, compared to the shear weight of US armor, and air power in the 50s. If anything I think they are more similar organizationally to the 50s chinese in korea rather than the americans @@HelghastStalker

But compared to everyone else in the Wasteland, who are all still running around with sharp sticks and leather armor with sports pads...I mean, sure, the NCR isn't a 1:1 match for pre-War America of the 1950s, but the fact the NCR has managed to accomplish and maintain this level of standardization in the Wasteland, while controlling most of the boundaries of pre-War California, with a population of 700,000 and a functioning "real" economy is a major feat.

IIRC the uniforms that the NCR wear actually DO have armour, it's just that it's not good at stopping rifle rounds. Basically early Kevlar.

Love how the jetpacks didn't explode after being hit either, just draining the fuel. The attention to detail is making me horn-y
I also noticed at 1:00 the BoS Soldier in Combat Armor is shot but he isn't dead or even seems to be bleeding, the guns are most certainly the .45 Auto Pistol (1911) which i'm sure the Combat Armor can stop. But just becasue it was stopped doesn't mean it doesn't hurt and he was stunned by the shot and then finished off by the axe. So his armor worked as intended as well he was just too close and slow to react.

Good catch! I clicked on the timestamp and did a frame by frame on that one. The BoS soldier shot first with his 10mm but the shots deflected off the NCR armour because of the angle they hit.

I love the running theme of "moves and countermoves" throughout this series. Two different doctrines of war, two different sets of tactics and countermeasures, both sides trying to press different advantages and structure the fight in their own favour.
The NCR, having used their numbers to divide the Brotherhood's attention and split their forces apart, now commits their own specialists to drive home the killing blow. The Brotherhood has lost their superiority of firepower by letting it get spread over too wide an area, and is only hanging on by the strength of their Power Armour - which is probably where those Rocket Troopers we saw before are going to come in. Once the shiny shells of the Paladins are cracked open, the faltering Brotherhood line will likely rout completely; though we may still get a battle for the Helios One interior, or some other form of rearguard action.
Yep. This loss effectively destroyed any hope the brotherhood had of maintaining power in the mojave. After this they are crippled and only are a minor faction in the coming power struggles.
I'm thinking that the Brotherhood is going to roll out the Sentry Bots we saw back in the very first part; we haven't seen those yet, and those could wipe out entire platoons of NCRA Troopers before they are brought down.

@@youraveragescotsman7119 I have not played the game yet, though I have studied the lore extensively, so I wouldn't know. But if there are Sentry Bots at Helios, then they could very well have been guards left behind by the Brotherhood when they bugged out.

The area they're in looks familiar to the building you have to enter to realign the solar panels and get Helios One running at 100% efficiency.
The NCR apparently tried it and lost 2 guys from defences that the BoS restored before they left, so the NCR just didn't bother trying to storm it.

I love the animation but what I always love the most is your ability to bring depth and dynamism to the conflict.
You have taken something from the game that the player doesn't get to see and you've added layers to it.
Of course these armies would use combined arms, but what would it look like?
What would NCR trench raiders do, do they exist?
BoS Power Armor squads bring horror and hellfire to the battlefield, so how might someone stop them?
What does a high-functioning squad of 1st Recon snipers look like, their brutal effectiveness?
You have considered all these things, created them in a way that we don't even question the lore-validity of it, and present it in such an incredible way.
Your craft is amazing to watch and I always look forward to each post.

To hear the BOS tell it, they were overwhelmed by sheer weight of numbers as the NCR built forces up around them over time. It's refreshing to see that while the NCR COULD use sheer weight of numbers, they har the expertise to do more with less.
Also, loved the detail of the 1st Recon guy who dived behind that rock and just barely didn't get torched sniping their jet packs to PREVENT them from retreating, fragging noice touch!
Makes sense that the BoS would say they got overwhelmed by just numbers.
Less embarrassing than admitting that they, willingly, stayed in a shit position, allowed the NCR the time needed to reinforce AND allowed the NCR to dictate the fight in a manner that favoured them and let them leverage their superior numbers and position.
@@youraveragescotsman7119 To be fair, that they were in a shit position was a given. HELIOS One was referenced multiple times as a terrible place to defend. You'll always have an advantage attacking it over the defenders. But according to SODAZ, the NCR weren't exactly meatheads either.

I'd say according to lore the NCR aren't really meatheads either. Engine limitations and everything else aside you don't conquer and control a nation the size of California (+ their other holdings) by being inept.
@@youraveragescotsman7119 And not just that, but in the Mojave, the NCR Congress doesn't regard the Legion as a "real" threat. Thus, the NCR forces in the Mojave are basically third-rate conscripts with whatever equipment the NCR congress can bother to remember to send their way.
Brotherhood arrogance has doomed them before. They still think the NCR is a bunch of jumped up tribals. Even after losing a brutal war to them.
AMAZING interpretation of the events and how things work in the series. Seeing the mix of tactics used by the NCR to combat the BoS's advantages is really interesting. The entire fallout community, and every gaming community, would be lucky to have you animate for us.

Just about everyone else who has been shown off has had their moment to shine. 1st Recon, NCR Chemtroopers/Stormtroopers, Power armour, Miniguns, Flamers and Jump Pack Power Armour to name a few. The Missile Launcher team is surely going to make a very big statement when they finally let rip!
You can really start to feel the tide of the battle changing in the NCR's favor.

@@christianweibrecht6555They had all of their cards on the table and looks like their only reserve was the Jump troopers, who are now cut off from Helios One.
NRC Troopers are gonna dogpile the Knights and turn their suits of Power Armour into tin coffins.
The main defensive line has been broken up by the shock troopers and the combat-armored initiates and knights are having to fall back, while the Assault Squad is pinned down by heavy fire and unable to regroup, and the main Paladins are having to divide their attention across multiple fronts.
AND there's the NCR rocket peeps about to come in.
@@starwarssith54 Those Paladins would be thinking about dumping those Miniguns and running before a missle launcher turns them into a tin of dog food because they will be the number 1 target now the LMG teams have been delt with.
The Fallout Netflix series has no chance against this. They might have a massive budget, but they would never have the guts to make a battle scene as realistic as this.
Someone needs to pay you a sh*t ton of money to make an entire 2 hour movie or series out of this. But only to Make it YOUR way! This is incredible. Great animation and it's just so detailed and intense!

in retrospect probably not much of a fraction of their total force, because they managed to garrison Helios immediately after and still had a force sufficient enough to defeat Graham at Hoover Dam.
@@mrgreen6980 considering ncr having 20 to 1 advantage, probably only like 10% of em. (Thats still twice the BOS total number) , and plus some when the helion one defense system got activated.
I just freaking love that everyone fight SMART in that battle. The NCR's tactics are solid, the melee enhanced fighters are a terrible distraction to deal with in the context of Fallout, no power armour has been destroyed but they are pinned and overwhelmed, the snipers are doing a very good job at pinning the initiates down and now the tide is turning in favor of the NCR who is preparing rocket launchers to kill the tin cans.
The flanking paladins might probably still be able to go back to the front line, but they would have to jump from the cliff, still a feat that their armor can do. I can't wait to see what comes next !

@@DCPTF2 Thats ignoring that a good chunk of the first wave and both flanking parties got wiped out first setting up the field for the berserkers. I also saw multiple berserkers go down to the oncoming fire from the Paladins and entrenched Knights. At best you could argue that the Knights got nerfed a bit, but the NCR has taken heavy casualties to get to this point.

what's smart at 0:48? Why are the brotherhood soldiers standing in the field. What's smart about leaving another line of fortifications for NCR? At 0:47 the fortifications that NCR soldiers had previously reached. Why did the brotherhood just leave them and let them occupy them? What’s so smart about the “main forces” who were waiting for something all this time, although they could simply attack the brotherhood from the other side.
@@dimkodimko6894from my understanding, the NCR smoked the front of the first line, the bos wasn't aware of the mainforce which were hiding and didn't expect a rush of that scale. So they didn't pull them back, since they were already holding the first push really well.
When the armored drug trops came in, it was already to late to pull them out and the assault knights couldn't comeback to assist. So the rest of the bos infantry got killed in the field
So glad that the original red beret sniper from WIP 7 is still kicking ass here.

That soldier at 0:20 is such an ace. Brave enough to raise from cover that close to the armored troopers wielding flamers. Smart enough to know he has little chance against them, but can surely slow them down. Skilled enough to land shots on one of the few ligthly armored yet critical spots on their backs. He deserves a raise, a medal and a promotion, not to mention an apology for the shitty tactics. Hopefully he lives to get them.

- Operation Sunburst Occurs in October 2276, precisely 5 years before the events of FNV.
- Boone is about 26 years old by Oct. 2281. He married Carla around 2280 after they met in Vegas, where they moved to Novac. This meant that, depending on his birthday, he was 21 years of age when Operation Sunburst happened (Boone and Manny were confirmed to be at the First Battle of Hoover Damn in 2277, stationed at Camp Golf a year later)... In our current military, you can only join the army when you are 18, so Boone is certainly old enough to have enlisted in time for Op. Sunburst.
- Aside from age, timing is the biggest challenge to answer... This is a bit more convoluted so please bear with me.
(1) If the NCR military structure is similar to the current American model, you are in the Army for about 4 years or so and endure about 10 weeks of Basic. I know that new recruits in the Mojave have only about 2 Weeks of Basic Training, but Boone & Manny were in a specialized unit before the NCR's supply lines were stretched thin. Based off of Boone's competency as a soldier compared to the raw recruits of the Mojave in 2281, it's likely he received proper training.
(2) Manny Vargas grew up in New Vegas and joined up with the Khans well before Bitter Springs (which happened in 2278), and got his discharge papers when his time came up. We can infer Boone did not grow up in Vegas, and that they met up while doing basic training (especially since Boone does not know any of the Khans specifically). Given that they were stationed at Camp Golf when the attack happened, they were deployed before 2277... Meaning their tour of duty could easily have been around 2276 - 2280. This was in time for Op. Sunburst, but only JUST.
(3) After Boone was discharged, he married Carla. He new she was pregnant before he left the service (evidenced by his soldier death letter). They likely dated for a while, got married and started for a kid before they moved to Novac. The relationship is also somewhat recent; he hasn't told Carla about the trauma he experienced at Bitter Springs by 2280 (2 years after his traumatic experiences).
(4) SPOILER ALERT... The Legion paid for both Carla AND her unborn child by Fall of 2281. Given how a normal pregnancy is about 40 weeks (or 9 months), obvious physical demonstrations of pregnancy are around the late 2nd / early 3rd Trimester. Note that the Legion paid for a both Carla and her unborn child; this meant the baby was on track to being born healthily, otherwise they would not have paid extra. This provides even more pretext for my theory of his 2280 discharge.
So in conculsion... Depending on their age of enlistment, Boone & Manny could have been at Helios One in 2276... But more than likely, based off the enlistment history ending firmly (more or less) in 2280 after a standard American style 4 year tour of service, the pair were part of the first batch of replacements for the 1st Recon snipers lost at Helios One.
I'm not sure, but considering how green Boone & Manny were when they arrived at the Mojave, the veteran NCR soldiers there likely may have just considered them to be too inexperienced to go against heavily armoured BOS Knights (you RARELY take inexperienced soldiers on special missions like this unless there is no other option). Then again, Boone & Manny could have been here... But it likely would have been one of the first tours they every experienced, and neither comment on the operation.
The timing is just a BIT too off. Also, Veronica and him have no personal animosity with each other when they interact, nor do they comment about each other's factions. Boone never mentions any interactions with the Brotherhood. Considering how often he speaks of the enemies he has personally faced against, it would be odd for him not to say anything at all... Especially if he was at Helios One.
So yea... That's my two cents worth.
The way the wiki reads, it sounds like Boone and Many were picked for 1st recon straight out of basic because of their “exceptional marksmanship.” Manny ran with the Kahn’s, and if Boone grew up somewhere outside of the major settlements he probably would have spent a lot of his early life handling weapons. If he joined at 18, and the give him 10 weeks basic, and say another 10 for sniper school,that gives him around 2 years with the unit before this, plenty of time to make a bit of a name for himself. And that assumes he didn’t join before he turned 18, which is completely possible. I don’t imagine many NCR recruiting officers would turn a guy like Boone down if he suspected he was a year or so younger than he put on his paperwork.
As far as the main game is concerned, I don’t think the writers intended for him to have been at this battle, but it’s entirely in the realm of possibility that he COULD have. And as far him not mentioning it, I imagine that by the time Boone meets the courier he considers the brotherhood functionally extinct, and he’s much more focused on grinding his axe with the legion.
As far as this portrayal of the battle? There are a couple of hiccups. The first we only see one 1st recon guy with that initial flanking attack, the rest just have regular NCR berets and .357 lever guns, so that means Manny isn’t with him, witch would be odd. The 1st recon sniper appears to be in command of that particular element. Like I said, Boone could have had time to make a bit of a name for himself, so his superiors may have thought he was the right person to have command of a (relatively) small flanking element. Though I don’t know why Manny wouldn’t be a part of that flanking element.
TL;DR: while it’s entirely possible that snipers is Boone, the biggest question is why Manny isn’t with him.

I was wondering how the snipers were going to help turn the tide. I was assuming a hit and hide tactic to draw fire. However those shots to the fuel line so the armored units can't move was amazing. Then the follow up shots to the gun placements to turn the other two armored units to face the other way to suppress fire as more ground units move forward had me excited to see more.
I can't wait to see the dude with rocket launcher do his thing. Dude keeps moving up and I am more excited to see him pop up like: "Surprise Motha Fucka!!"

Their armour is inspired by the lobster shell armour from WW1 which was often given to stationary machine gunners, their weapons are the sort of things you’d take a on a night raid into an enemy trench, very cool to watch as a fan of WW1 history

Yeah. In fact, after rewatching it a few times, just noticed that the sniper manages to nail the fuel pipe leading to the right of the jump troopers pack, then repeats this shot on the officer and presumably the flame trooper as well. Man, snipers are scary effective. Lol
I'd love and want to see these NCR stormtroopers in new vegas. Would make for fun NCR-themed chem-melee builds. Pop in some psycho and jet and go head to head with Legion troops in sword fights

Apple and oranges. These videos depict a specific battle in Fallout canon and have a coherent narrative (they’re basically episodes of a short film). The series trailer gives only hints of a story (as one would expect) and isn’t narratively complete. And it isn’t even the same story. How do you compare the two?
It would be like saying that a sports car is better than the blueprints for a limousine. Not a meaningful comparison, as they serve different purposes.

The trailer has the BoS, somehow, operating above ground with an airship *in the Boneyard.* This would be suicide unless the show has the NCR/BoS make a truce, which doesn't seem that way considering the BoS fight the "NCR" in the trailer, as shown with a group that more resembles Raiders holding the NCR flag and charging at the BoS.

Still, take my Pesos, this is amazing, you deserve so much more for actually bringing justice to my favorite bit of lore in Fallout New Vegas, I am curious, would you ever consider animating the battle of Hoover Dam after this series as your next project?
We can see something interesting as well. Power Armour is awesome and all... but has poor situation awareness. The Minigunner and his buddy only realised there were snipers after the Initate next to them got killed. They had no idea that the turrets behind them had been picked off and stopped firing in support. Their chain of command is their only counter to that and it is clearly being overwhelmed by extremely aggressive thrusts against their positions.
I love how this portrays the NCR as an actual threat instead of just another joke of a faction, it's absolutely amazing
Hello SODAZ I love your animation and your storytelling is lore Accurate. WW1 NCR Stormtroopers fits in the Fallout lore plus Fallout also uses real world tactics even though there’s a lot of weird things in Fallout. Many people believe the Sniper in the Brotherhood war that shot the Jetpacks is Craig Boone one of your companions in Fallout New Vegas which fits also in the FNV lore Young Boone.
This is an interesting Real Fallout lore The NCR BOS and Enclave war. After The Enclave Oil Rig Self Destruct in Fallout 2 many Families of the Enclave evacuated to Camp Navarro and you can search what it looks like. This place is where the NCR and the few remaining army of the Enclave fought each other. The Enclave civilians escaped to the wasteland after there loss in Camp Navarro and the
retreating Enclave soldiers and Power Armor users were killed and hunted by the Brotherhood after they saw the NCR winning the war. The NCR also got there Vertibirds in Camp Navarro.
There is also the Legion vs the Desert Ranger army. The Desert Rangers are the people in the front Cover of FNV. Plus they have green visor eyes whatever you want to call it instead of red in the helmet. The Desert Rangers after they lost Arizona to the Legion they allied themselves with the NCR making the NCR rangers and Desert Rangers one. You can make the fight in Phoenix city not the entire city some parts of the city and it’s your choice. it’s the largest place in Arizona just copy the modern day city and make it look like it’s destroyed by the war like the buildings in FNV.
There is also The first Battle of Hoover Dam and The Bitter Springs Massacre.
These are the four Events that happened in Fallout that you can animate and your animation and story telling is better than the Fallout TV show and any TV show that is out right now. I hope you’ll be successful in your UA-cam career thank you SODAZ.

Looking at your older work, things were very flat in terms of terrain and shadows, but your recent work is honestly really impressive.

It truly is evident from your works that you excel in making scenes of coordinated, high risk tactics that actually make sense, while at the same time being lore friendly.
The NCR using their numbers to its fullest advantage, surrounding a near indefensible position as in the game's lore of Helios One, combined arms warfare between the 1st Recon and NCR Troopers, having a small task force be sacrificial lambs to now trap the BoS Assault Team from being able to return to base, armoring and drugging up a shock force to break the first line of defense which results in a route of the lighter BoS troops making even the higher ranked Paladins begin to worry and losing cohesion...
So much is happening in just a minute.
The once broken initial charge of the first wave of NCR troops is now regrouped and charging again with sniper cover.
That punctured fuel line of the jetpack, I take it the NCR was wise enough to equip the first recon with some armor piercing ammunition.
Now that I think of it, those shock troops were able to tank some of those machine gun rounds. Body armor to stop that must weigh a ton, so the only conclusion I can make is that while the psycho drugs help, these men were probably given special strength and endurance training to maintain their charge.
I said a lot, but this animation is truly a sight to behold.
I like the detail that shooting the canisters doesn’t actually ignite them just makes holes cause apparently they don’t explode when you shoot gas canisters
Yeah, a second shoot would actually ignite the gas canister since the spark of the second shoot would ignite the gas that already come out of the gas canister from the first shoot

But, from my gaming experience, one NCR soldier literally wiped out 5 legionary’s with minimal effort.

I do hope SODAZ takes the liberty to change the Legion a bit. I mean, just changing the varmint rifle and .357 magnum into standard issue equipment for recruit legionaries than merely scavenged would make the Legions' near win at Hoover Dam believable than in-lore.

@dionjaywoollaston1349 NCR isn't going to take value of mere varmint rifles and .357 magnums. Those are just leftovers to them.
The Legions' officers armed with M4 Carbines are the real value, but the average Legionary isn't going to function well without their officers.
Besides, the more Legionaries that get killed, the less opportunity that they could bring their main advantage to the NCR.

IIRC the Legion threw, at the time, EVERYTHING they had at the dam. Strength of numbers and, likey, units armoured enough to take hits would ensure they could make it to NCR gunlines and push them back slowly. And we can't discount the Legion having their own troops armed with guns like the Veteran Legionaries and up.
Didn't matter in the end though when they lost their officers, ran head long into Boulder City and got dusted.
I am probably thinking too deep into this but the fact that Commander (We haven't seen him named yet so I am gonna call him Commander he is probably Hardin or Mcnamara though) ordered Lucius itself to order the Assault Squad to pull back, like I said maybe I am looking too deep into it but it sounds like Chain That Binds. Commander cannot directly ask the Assault Squad to pull back because it would break Chain That Binds. He has to order the issue to the person right below him (Lucius) and have him order the squad under him to pull back.
Head Paladin at the time would have been McNamara. Sounds like his voice went up a few octaves after Helios One.

As some one who likes to play defensively in many RTS games and other games when I can; I’ve learned a long time ago that turtling only gives your enemy the time to find your weakness
Turtling can be useful, if you pick the right battlefield and you can deal staggering damage to your enemy.
This is the most intense clip of the project so far in my opinion. Keep it up Sodaz! The wait will be worth it.

Not really a big Fallout nut, but I must say, I ADORE your depiction of the NCR stormtroopers, the sheer aggressive and devil-may-care attitude that they exude, highlights the kind of berserk mentality that was required in soldiers required to brave machine guns, barbed wire, and artillery fire.
I can hardly wait for when that rocket trooper gets within range to start shredding some power armor!
I love how well fallout works with S0DAZ's strength. Like, you could do a model swap, the BoS with space marines and guardsmen, NCR with cultists or orks or whatever and it would still be great. But I also love the fallout setting so
