He also is very smart in tactics to use on power armor, since he wore it in the past. so he knows the weaknesses, all of them. So he first scared them, lights out blinded them and then had some full mobility fun with them. ^^
Amongst many other stats and perks. He's a combat veteran who's over 200 years old and pretty much represents what a Max Level Character is like onscreen.

I greatly appreciate that moment at 1:11 where three NCR remnants rush the knight and force them to kneel so their mate with an automatic weapon can hit the poor bastard on the more vulnerable neck gap at full auto. Not only is it the best way to kill a much more heavily armored opponent the likes of which you see in medieval combat manuals, but it also shows these folk had experience fighting the BoS. It's the kind of thing that probably happened a lot in thr battle for Helios One, and they might even be veterans from that scuffle.
Its a bit sad the remnants of the NCR cant do a little more than that. They were really outnumbered and with no ammo, they give a good fight. I hope there still NCR in their full force to obliterate the asses of this shitty brotherhoods.
The NCR beat the BoS in full blown war back in the day, if anyone would know how to fight the brotherhood it would be the NCR. And it’s unlikely these are the final holdouts of NCR. NCR was gigantic, and even if the government fell NCR had ascended to being more a symbol than a physical thing, it’s much harder to kill a symbol than it is a flesh and blood human.

"shoot em up" montage that was cool....until it just went stupid.

"The Ghoul" honestly feels like a max level player character. Like just a dude who took all the most expensive, broken perks on the skill tree and now hunts the strongest enemies just for sport and caps
midgame characters are usually a bigger powergap to the enviroment since enemys scale with the players level, defense is largely static from that point on and damage caps out way before you hit max level
before people get mad about him taking on power armored soldiers, a reminder this guy was a former soldier turn movie star who had experience with this armor in combat against the reds, we even see a hint of it when he takes out maximus hydraulic system, so the fact he knows the armor plate is weakest their and chose to use a rocket a rocket propelled bullet to punch through the armor.

“But I don’t want to see tomorrow unless I see it with you.” They really got me where you see Muldaver has the test and after everyone being evil in the series you’re like “oh right it’s just some super weapon; the cynical ghoul is right.” Only for it to be her turning the lights and they make it very clear they have been the good guys. For Maximus to see that he’s prevented bringing justice on the people who destroyed his home and sided with a sinister force that seeks to dominate them. I think they are either adapting the Minutemen story or something like Lyon’s pride/Fallout 76 for season 2.
These are just a splinter group. Not even the real military. Notice, they arent wearing proper uniform, and there's not even a single Combat Ranger among them, let alone a Veteran Ranger.

The Knights of this chapter were below average Brotherhood Standards, they went for quantity over quality. It's mentioned in the show by the Chapter leader that they needed to restructure because their forces were too weak. So yes they had flashlights but they didn't use them presumably because they're not trained or disciplined very well.
1:42 I absolutely love the detail of the Squires leaning up against and using the Knights as cover to push up. Hella reminiscent of soldiers using tanks and other heavy armor as cover to push a line
It does make sense. Since power armor was originally developed to basically make the user a walking tank so they could break through heavily fortified enemy lines. It makes sense that they would use them as cover to advance. I’m not a lore aficionado or an expert in mechanized infantry tactics so I could be wrong
@@fabianmaryanowski2252Cooper was a soldier and the T 60 is an improvement built from the T 45, if anyone knew how to make them fail, it was definitely him apart from more than 200 years of combat experience.
Honestly, the Ghoul one tapping the T-60 makes sense since T-60 is just refurbished and retrofitted T-45, the same armour he used and the one he described with having the fatal flaw in the chest plate. Now if this was T-51 THEN it would be bs since T-51 is just so much better than T-45 and even T-60 in some cases.
T 60 never had those chest plate problems, this was the first time it was mentioned. So totally for the plot. Even the t 51 is better in some points (agility for example), the T 60 definitely is a good power armor and better than the t 45 in every point.
@@thejohnson2328 in lore it is just said that t45 had many production problems and it was never specified what flaws are those exactly, so the writers could make such welding flaw, that and t60 is overhauled t45 which means that flaw could persist. T51 on the other hand is a different beast maybe we will see it in season 2, that or x01 or APA mk1/2.

@@thefatman8119 Someone pointed out that although Cooper Howard has a name and character, after the war he's just "The Ghoul". Similar to "The Courier" or "The chosen one" and so on. He's kinda like who the players start with, and because of that it makes sense that he's "using" VATS or the way he fights looks like a high level character.
2:51 The Ghoul is loading depleted uranium rounds into his gun, those are designed to penetrate tank armor. The show writers put in a damn good subtle touch here.
In the later games, at least, the power armor could never be looted from a corpse. It was never really explained why. With this, and what we know of the chassis system, it looks like when the suit detects the user dying, it clamps onto the body, likely a way to prevent power armor from being easily stolen. A single bullet alone wouldn't drop a man, but if that bullet preemptively triggers that clamping mechanism, it could crush whoever is inside like a Capri Sun. Just a hypothesis, but it does seem like the dude's PA collapse in on itself a bit.
Important to note that The Ghoul actually tried shooting Maximus in the same spot during their fight in Filly when he was using Knight Titus' power armor, now he does use the lever action at first but when face to face uses the same revolver in this scene and shoots in roughly the same spot. But because Titus had a special lining in his suit that Maximus notices on the vertibird and Lucy later notices when she frees Maximus from the coreless armor, The Ghoul doesn't penetrate the armor and leaves him unscathed, unlike his very unfortunate trio of brothers in this scene.

It's crazy that Cooper was originally a freakin' cowboy actor. A soldier as well, but still. Just a peaceful and morally good man who was pretending to be a badass for entertainment. Now he entertains himself by actually being a badass cowboy.
I don't know about being a Courier level threat, Cooper is a badass who can handle himself the best among the show but he's still small fry compared to the Courier. The Courier is able the maw down plenty of monsters and power armored soldiers like it's nothing. Coop had trouble dealing with a gulper.
let's see his perks/Traits -Gun Slinger. Obviously. -Fight the Power! more damage against BoS and other Factions. -Action man/woman. more Ap for Vats. -Grim Ripper's Sprint. grants Ap for every kills. -Night Eye. How else was he able to shoot in the dark. -Math Wrath. Reduce Ap Cost's in Vats.

@hermos3602 idk, Eastern Knights are veterans from the most brutal fights, 20+ years of fighting Super Mutants, then fighting the Enclave, and then the Institute? The Knights from the Prydwen should be experienced killing machines. The lack of laser rifles also made them feel less Eastern

I love how the round he’s looking at before he loads and fires is a miniature sabot round. Normally it’s more common in tank rounds where the sabot projectile is something like tungsten or depleted uranium to zip through armor. Thats pretty good attention to detail on the show’s part.

Shows these are more than just a ragtag group of people but organized powers (I know the NCR is a fraction of its former self but it wasn’t long when they outnumbered the BOS 10 to 1) Just a little thing that makes me love Fallout. :)

The show really did a good job of making this whole conflict seem tragic and pointless, good people on both sides being manipulated by their superiors to kill each other. Truly, "War never changes."
Can you really "both-sides" this, though? The BoS are the ones doing the invading and instigated the violence. Moldaver and the NCR remnants didn't start it. They were just defending themselves from aggression. Saying both factions are at fault is like claiming Ukraine is equally at fault for "starting" the current war. Russia/BoS are the ones who chose violence. Ukraine/NCR are merely reacting to that choice in this instance.
That’s the view the main villain uses when he says “I am no different than her”. The twist is that, yeah the NCR do genuinely want to turn the lights on and it’s a very bad thing this version of the Brotherhood wins. They even deliberately misdirect you by implying there’s a button she’s trying to press and I really did think it would be some giant monster. Only for it to be a surprise when she turns the lights on and Id say that’s how it’s presented. Hence Maximus reaction.

the squires following behind the knights is genuinely so perfect because that is exactly how an assault with PA units would work out. They were intended to be weapons platforms for a single person to use heavy weapons and ordinance without the issue of It being a full blown tank. So less armoured units would follow behind them like a tank during an assault so the heavy armor could absorb small arms fire while dispensing heavy fire with support from rear units.
I love this series for giving us half a dozen factions and no clear right or wrong for any of them. Also for setting things straight as far as "when you get shot with a gun, you ain't getting back up".
The Ghoul has instantly become one of the most iconic and badass characters in the Fallout universe. He’s right up there with Joshua Graham for me now. A fan favorite. 🙌
Crazy how not a single one of them shot him until he delivers his line, he shot and stood there despite them being on high alert they took seconds to react.
Before anyone screams hysterically crying that the Ghoul managed to kill the Knights. 1. The Ghoul fought Maximus before this scene and realized then his tactics and weapons weren't enough to kill a powered armor trooper at the time so he adapted by theorizing if there was a gap in the armor he can shoot it (He used his experience using the armor as a Pre-War soldier to guess this spot) and he also used armor piercing rounds to boost the piercing of his gun which was useless with the flat rounds. 2. The Ghoul has enhanced reflexes due to decades of honing his skills and a healing factor, the Brotherhood were not killing him without destroying his brain.
@@esotericocelot 1) He's not shooting center mass he's shooting at a point in the plate armor that the audience can't see (If it was center mass you would see the hole, go ahead and pause you don't see it on the chest), it's presumably a small location which requires precision of an expert Marksman like him. The flaw only exists as far as we know in the T-45 and T-60 armor only (The T-60 is just an improved version of T-45), the Enclave never struggled with killing BOS Paladins in T-45 armor in Fallout 3 they were killing them with ease and in Fallout 2 the plasma weapons the Enclave had hard counter T-51B so at no point the Enclave needed to take advantage of this because their base weapons were more than powerful to negate needing precision aiming. 2.) Like the Brotherhood has never stopped to converse with an enemy or allow them to speak prior to combat? *Cough* FNV Veronica's Quest *Cough* Yeah no they got killed because the dude was a 200 year old War Vet hopped up on chems and using AP rounds with god tier aim going up against a bunch of fresh recruits and subpar Knights.

In the flashback scene when cooper is talking to bud about the T-45 cooper mentions that it almost costed them the war because the T-45 had a flaw under the chest area and in the scene where he's about to fight the brotherhood he asks if the T-60 model still has that problem and he kills them all with that knowledge lol.

@@dedeferreira98 Cowboy perk affects all of the weapons you mentioned except the double barrel! Though in New Vegas, as an example, you can easily oneshot a low level human enemy with a break action shotgun without any perks even on Hardcore with the Guns skill not exceeding 40. So there's that.
He doesn’t have bloody mess ffs. You can blow off limbs if you do enough damage, without the bloody mess perk. Like, do people who say this not play the games? Bloody mess literally explodes enemies into pieces.
What I like about this scene is The Ghoul remembered the flaw of the armor back before the war when he was a marine and used it against the brother hood pretty nice detail
It's even more interesting when you consider that he probably used a T-45, and these T-60s that the Brotherhood uses are just a remodeled version of the T-45, which justifies the flaw still existing. If the Brotherhood had been using the T-51, which was a new project, the situation would have been much more complicated for him.

The T-51 was built from a new and improved design, surpassing the T-45 in all aspects; the problem is that this superiority also reflected in manufacturing costs, making it costly for mass production. Because of this, we had the development of the T-60, and to reduce manufacturing costs, the same design as the T-45 was used; so the T-60 is actually a refurbished and modernized version of the T-45, and that's why the flaw is also present in it.
Well the bombs were dropped 2077 and high cut helmets were a thing Also since the helmet is kinda dated now, a lot of people are getting high cut helmets besides operators lol
This scene gave me damn near everything I could ask from a fallout TV show. The NCR, BoS, gritty battles with an out of place 40s-50s song in the background, and of course a badass ghoul. This healed the wound the Halo TV show left in my soul.

In New Vegas you learn that the NCR took Helios One, but suffered HUGE casualties against the brotherhood. Power Armor. It does make you feel like a big man for a reason.

If I remember rightly the NCR was only able to do those things with a massive numbers advantage and they usually took heavy casualties doing so. It stands to reason that this particular garrison did not have the numbers or heavy weapons necessary to defeat a power armored force with light infantry support. While they might have caused some casualties among the supporting infantry without any means of eliminating the Knights there was little they could do.
I just finished watching the show yesterday and this whole scene made me sit there in silence as I watched in awe, seeing remnants of the NCR fighting the BoS in their power armor, seeing so many casualties as the NCR try their damn hardest to keep fighting even if it's pointless against the Knights in power armor. Then seeing Cooper just casually wiping the floor against the Knights... It's so beautiful...
I love that guttural choke that Knights gave as the ghoul had them spluttering their flechette'd insides plopping out, then to transition to mowing down the supposed BOS kill squad with 12 shots, the fan of a hammer and a hand grenade. Surely more happened because how the HELL did a suit end up walking operator-less into the Moldaver's lab.

Love this scene, this is what those big fights in the games felt, even if they couldn’t match up in practice. Imagine seeing Battle of Hoover Dam or the assault on the Institute like this.
The way the show - SHOWS character skills in action as they would be in such subtle ways that only a fan of the games would notice is what really makes you want to play fallout. It's like if you build your character right you could play exactly like The Ghoul.

West Virginia's BoS group kinda deserted though. At least in one of the endings of the questline. Rahmani says that Brotherhood ideals are becoming more and more bullshit and decides to focus on helping people instead of masturbating on toasters or whatever BoS usually does.

with the shit BoS and NCR faced in couple decade is understandable they downgraded somewhere, Fallout 4 "assault rifle" Here actually realistic weapon of choice for power armored BoS knight as 556 ammo less complicated bto produced than fushion cell.
The Brotherhood laying siege to an observatory full of militia, farmers, and workers just trying to get the lights on in the city using something the Brotherhood would probably use to power their 50ft tall robot that hucks nukes like footballs and shoots lasers from its eyes: We did it guys!!! We saved humanity!!! Like, this is almost like Helldivers 2 level of satire-blindness.
Brotherhood have always had a self inflated sense of importance and ego, courtesy of Bethesda sucking them off harder than a desperate femboy. One thing the show gets almost perfect is how the NCR was reclaiming the wasteland and how Shady Sands destruction was a genuine tragedy. Show makes them the unsung heros of Fallout and already, it's better than any story that has the Brotherhood as heros.
NCR removing Tandi and replacing with a plutocratic imperialistic leader with Brahmin Baron backing that started the war with the Brotherhood of Steel in the first place.
Now remember: The main reason these NCR guys don't have proper trooper gear and instead have this airsoft-looking gear is because these aren't NCR *Troopers,* they're NCR *Citizens.* Essentially a milita made of survivors of the Shady Sands destruction, so of course they don't have the armor/resources of the standard NCR army. Still, its a shame they didn't throw in *SOME* NCR Trooper armor and bits. Seems like they got the same costume treatment the Enclave got
One thing I like is how the welding flaw he mentions was referenced earlier in his argument with the vault-tec representative, so it doesn't feel like something the writer just pulled out of their ass for this scene, but established lore, even if it was just one conversation

It’s an assault rifle in context to power armor. Still wrong designation since it’s a supportive weapon like an lmg but yeah it’s meant for power armor. Next game I hope they add a m349 barrel not the water cooled thing, keep it but also add a cooling barrel feature hot barrel all that.
I kinda hate how power armor wearers are depicted as clumsy oafs when in reality they’d have a lot more mobility and stability instead of falling over every scene.

Maybe a radical splinter group, namely because in the beginning with the raid on the vault, they were WAY more barbaric than the NCR usually is. They acted more like raiders or Caesar’s Legion. So, I’m hoping the flesh it out a tad more in the next season because it doesn’t make a ton of sense. I’m assuming they either stayed behind when the NCR pulled out against orders or Moldaver stayed with a handful of loyalists and recruited any random person they came across which wasn’t too far gone.

@@RicoRaynnyou guys really need to stop bringing up the new vegas game, it's already confirmed it's not canon to the series and the original game, they are following the "bethesda canon" where NCR went on a nosedive after shady sands got blown up and ncr command got split into different groups, just like the ones in this series, they are called ncr remnants . Yes the place new vegas do exist but the story ending where ncr was victorious against the legion is no longer part of this canon story.

I absolutely loved how they can turn a tragic scene into a hilarious moment with the music and slow motion in certain parts, reminds the players of them mowing down people while listing to the radio in the game.
I knew Coop's ammo looked off. After multiple rewatches best guess for his pointed munitions is that they are Sabots' which Holy crap talk about armor piercing rounds.

I greatly appreciate that moment at 1:11 where three NCR remnants rush the knight and force them to kneel so their mate with an automatic weapon can hit the poor bastard on the more vulnerable neck gap at full auto. Not only is it the best way to kill a much more heavily armored opponent the likes of which you see in medieval combat manuals, but it also shows these folk had experience fighting the BoS.
It's the kind of thing that probably happened a lot in thr battle for Helios One, and they might even be veterans from that scuffle.

The NCR beat the BoS in full blown war back in the day, if anyone would know how to fight the brotherhood it would be the NCR.
And it’s unlikely these are the final holdouts of NCR. NCR was gigantic, and even if the government fell NCR had ascended to being more a symbol than a physical thing, it’s much harder to kill a symbol than it is a flesh and blood human.

"The Ghoul" honestly feels like a max level player character. Like just a dude who took all the most expensive, broken perks on the skill tree and now hunts the strongest enemies just for sport and caps
midgame characters are usually a bigger powergap to the enviroment since enemys scale with the players level, defense is largely static from that point on and damage caps out way before you hit max level
before people get mad about him taking on power armored soldiers, a reminder this guy was a former soldier turn movie star who had experience with this armor in combat against the reds, we even see a hint of it when he takes out maximus hydraulic system, so the fact he knows the armor plate is weakest their and chose to use a rocket a rocket propelled bullet to punch through the armor.

They really got me where you see Muldaver has the test and after everyone being evil in the series you’re like “oh right it’s just some super weapon; the cynical ghoul is right.” Only for it to be her turning the lights and they make it very clear they have been the good guys. For Maximus to see that he’s prevented bringing justice on the people who destroyed his home and sided with a sinister force that seeks to dominate them.
I think they are either adapting the Minutemen story or something like Lyon’s pride/Fallout 76 for season 2.
Yet they fought to the very end. I hope to see more remnants of the NCR in the future cause this battle kicked ass

The Knights of this chapter were below average Brotherhood Standards, they went for quantity over quality. It's mentioned in the show by the Chapter leader that they needed to restructure because their forces were too weak.
So yes they had flashlights but they didn't use them presumably because they're not trained or disciplined very well.

It does make sense. Since power armor was originally developed to basically make the user a walking tank so they could break through heavily fortified enemy lines. It makes sense that they would use them as cover to advance. I’m not a lore aficionado or an expert in mechanized infantry tactics so I could be wrong

T 60 never had those chest plate problems, this was the first time it was mentioned. So totally for the plot. Even the t 51 is better in some points (agility for example), the T 60 definitely is a good power armor and better than the t 45 in every point.

@@jalpat2272 I don't think that was blood. More likely it was some kind of fluid used by the Power Armor (oil and/or hydraulic fluid).
In the later games, at least, the power armor could never be looted from a corpse. It was never really explained why. With this, and what we know of the chassis system, it looks like when the suit detects the user dying, it clamps onto the body, likely a way to prevent power armor from being easily stolen. A single bullet alone wouldn't drop a man, but if that bullet preemptively triggers that clamping mechanism, it could crush whoever is inside like a Capri Sun. Just a hypothesis, but it does seem like the dude's PA collapse in on itself a bit.
Or just that like in fo1 and 2 it needed training to know how to use it.

Important to note that The Ghoul actually tried shooting Maximus in the same spot during their fight in Filly when he was using Knight Titus' power armor, now he does use the lever action at first but when face to face uses the same revolver in this scene and shoots in roughly the same spot. But because Titus had a special lining in his suit that Maximus notices on the vertibird and Lucy later notices when she frees Maximus from the coreless armor, The Ghoul doesn't penetrate the armor and leaves him unscathed, unlike his very unfortunate trio of brothers in this scene.

It's crazy that Cooper was originally a freakin' cowboy actor. A soldier as well, but still. Just a peaceful and morally good man who was pretending to be a badass for entertainment. Now he entertains himself by actually being a badass cowboy.
I don't know about being a Courier level threat, Cooper is a badass who can handle himself the best among the show but he's still small fry compared to the Courier. The Courier is able the maw down plenty of monsters and power armored soldiers like it's nothing. Coop had trouble dealing with a gulper.

I love how the round he’s looking at before he loads and fires is a miniature sabot round. Normally it’s more common in tank rounds where the sabot projectile is something like tungsten or depleted uranium to zip through armor. Thats pretty good attention to detail on the show’s part.

That’s the view the main villain uses when he says “I am no different than her”. The twist is that, yeah the NCR do genuinely want to turn the lights on and it’s a very bad thing this version of the Brotherhood wins.
They even deliberately misdirect you by implying there’s a button she’s trying to press and I really did think it would be some giant monster. Only for it to be a surprise when she turns the lights on and Id say that’s how it’s presented. Hence Maximus reaction.

the squires following behind the knights is genuinely so perfect because that is exactly how an assault with PA units would work out. They were intended to be weapons platforms for a single person to use heavy weapons and ordinance without the issue of It being a full blown tank. So less armoured units would follow behind them like a tank during an assault so the heavy armor could absorb small arms fire while dispensing heavy fire with support from rear units.
I love this series for giving us half a dozen factions and no clear right or wrong for any of them. Also for setting things straight as far as "when you get shot with a gun, you ain't getting back up".

Before anyone screams hysterically crying that the Ghoul managed to kill the Knights.
1. The Ghoul fought Maximus before this scene and realized then his tactics and weapons weren't enough to kill a powered armor trooper at the time so he adapted by theorizing if there was a gap in the armor he can shoot it (He used his experience using the armor as a Pre-War soldier to guess this spot) and he also used armor piercing rounds to boost the piercing of his gun which was useless with the flat rounds.
2. The Ghoul has enhanced reflexes due to decades of honing his skills and a healing factor, the Brotherhood were not killing him without destroying his brain.

The flaw only exists as far as we know in the T-45 and T-60 armor only (The T-60 is just an improved version of T-45), the Enclave never struggled with killing BOS Paladins in T-45 armor in Fallout 3 they were killing them with ease and in Fallout 2 the plasma weapons the Enclave had hard counter T-51B so at no point the Enclave needed to take advantage of this because their base weapons were more than powerful to negate needing precision aiming.

@@dedeferreira98 Cowboy perk affects all of the weapons you mentioned except the double barrel! Though in New Vegas, as an example, you can easily oneshot a low level human enemy with a break action shotgun without any perks even on Hardcore with the Guns skill not exceeding 40. So there's that.
He doesn’t have bloody mess ffs. You can blow off limbs if you do enough damage, without the bloody mess perk. Like, do people who say this not play the games? Bloody mess literally explodes enemies into pieces.
What I like about this scene is The Ghoul remembered the flaw of the armor back before the war when he was a marine and used it against the brother hood pretty nice detail
It's even more interesting when you consider that he probably used a T-45, and these T-60s that the Brotherhood uses are just a remodeled version of the T-45, which justifies the flaw still existing. If the Brotherhood had been using the T-51, which was a new project, the situation would have been much more complicated for him.

This scene gave me damn near everything I could ask from a fallout TV show. The NCR, BoS, gritty battles with an out of place 40s-50s song in the background, and of course a badass ghoul. This healed the wound the Halo TV show left in my soul.

If I remember rightly the NCR was only able to do those things with a massive numbers advantage and they usually took heavy casualties doing so. It stands to reason that this particular garrison did not have the numbers or heavy weapons necessary to defeat a power armored force with light infantry support. While they might have caused some casualties among the supporting infantry without any means of eliminating the Knights there was little they could do.

I just finished watching the show yesterday and this whole scene made me sit there in silence as I watched in awe, seeing remnants of the NCR fighting the BoS in their power armor, seeing so many casualties as the NCR try their damn hardest to keep fighting even if it's pointless against the Knights in power armor. Then seeing Cooper just casually wiping the floor against the Knights... It's so beautiful...
I love that guttural choke that Knights gave as the ghoul had them spluttering their flechette'd insides plopping out, then to transition to mowing down the supposed BOS kill squad with 12 shots, the fan of a hammer and a hand grenade. Surely more happened because how the HELL did a suit end up walking operator-less into the Moldaver's lab.

Love this scene, this is what those big fights in the games felt, even if they couldn’t match up in practice. Imagine seeing Battle of Hoover Dam or the assault on the Institute like this.
The way the show - SHOWS character skills in action as they would be in such subtle ways that only a fan of the games would notice is what really makes you want to play fallout. It's like if you build your character right you could play exactly like The Ghoul.

West Virginia's BoS group kinda deserted though. At least in one of the endings of the questline. Rahmani says that Brotherhood ideals are becoming more and more bullshit and decides to focus on helping people instead of masturbating on toasters or whatever BoS usually does.

with the shit BoS and NCR faced in couple decade is understandable they downgraded somewhere, Fallout 4 "assault rifle" Here actually realistic weapon of choice for power armored BoS knight as 556 ammo less complicated bto produced than fushion cell.
Weirdly we see quite a few laser weapons around but they are never fired for some reason.

Brotherhood have always had a self inflated sense of importance and ego, courtesy of Bethesda sucking them off harder than a desperate femboy.
One thing the show gets almost perfect is how the NCR was reclaiming the wasteland and how Shady Sands destruction was a genuine tragedy. Show makes them the unsung heros of Fallout and already, it's better than any story that has the Brotherhood as heros.
NCR removing Tandi and replacing with a plutocratic imperialistic leader with Brahmin Baron backing that started the war with the Brotherhood of Steel in the first place.

Now remember: The main reason these NCR guys don't have proper trooper gear and instead have this airsoft-looking gear is because these aren't NCR *Troopers,* they're NCR *Citizens.* Essentially a milita made of survivors of the Shady Sands destruction, so of course they don't have the armor/resources of the standard NCR army. Still, its a shame they didn't throw in *SOME* NCR Trooper armor and bits.
Seems like they got the same costume treatment the Enclave got
One thing I like is how the welding flaw he mentions was referenced earlier in his argument with the vault-tec representative, so it doesn't feel like something the writer just pulled out of their ass for this scene, but established lore, even if it was just one conversation

I used to hate how bulky and heavy the "assault rifle" in game was but in this context and it being used more like a LMG makes wayyyy more sense.
It’s an assault rifle in context to power armor. Still wrong designation since it’s a supportive weapon like an lmg but yeah it’s meant for power armor.
Next game I hope they add a m349 barrel not the water cooled thing, keep it but also add a cooling barrel feature hot barrel all that.
I kinda hate how power armor wearers are depicted as clumsy oafs when in reality they’d have a lot more mobility and stability instead of falling over every scene.

That could be true, but I’m not entirely sure this is official NCR. Maybe a radical splinter group, namely because in the beginning with the raid on the vault, they were WAY more barbaric than the NCR usually is.
They acted more like raiders or Caesar’s Legion. So, I’m hoping the flesh it out a tad more in the next season because it doesn’t make a ton of sense. I’m assuming they either stayed behind when the NCR pulled out against orders or Moldaver stayed with a handful of loyalists and recruited any random person they came across which wasn’t too far gone.

Yes the place new vegas do exist but the story ending where ncr was victorious against the legion is no longer part of this canon story.

I absolutely loved how they can turn a tragic scene into a hilarious moment with the music and slow motion in certain parts, reminds the players of them mowing down people while listing to the radio in the game.
I knew Coop's ammo looked off. After multiple rewatches best guess for his pointed munitions is that they are Sabots' which Holy crap talk about armor piercing rounds.
