1. XY 2. DP 3. Sun and Moon 4. Journeys (mostly for the fanservice and Ash's wins over Cynthia and Leon) 5. Advanced 6. Original series 7. Black and White
@@thepedanticpickle it was also extremely annoying. I know ash was an idiot in unova but constantly insulting him like that wasn't going to help anything She even had no room to do that when her axew was weak and her excadrill wouldn't even listen to her for a while
XY/XYZ, Pokemon Journeys, and Diamond Pearl. The older ones like master quest were good as I feel It allowed ash to hone his skills. Felt like diamond Pearl as it focused on the characters and was more story driven. DP was also one of the most violent series. So much action yet focusing on the characters goals
Gen 4 all together was the GREATEST gen ever. The starters, legendaries, new evolved forms, region lore, gym leaders, Platinum, anime, rival, and the Darkrai movie. Great times 🙏🏽
Team rocket too. In all frankness more than any other series that was probably their best series. They were more focused and serious for the first couple seasons. Ash and company would always struggle against them. Team plasma too were absolutely underrated. I think too that N was a fascinating character. Had good values but lost sight of them at some point. the best wishes league tho was the worst .
It was interesting how in the black and white series that both of ash’s travelling companions both had rivals. Definitely added a bit of flair to their characters.
I loved XYZ and I think the main reason I was disappointed with SM was that it felt like the show was finally starting to cater to its older, more mature group of audience in XY, just to have it plunge right back down (in terms of target audience age) in SM. Now that they're creating new protagonists for the newer and likely younger generation of pokefans, I really hope they age Ash a bit and run him in a different series again for us older generation fans.
the main reason i felt a little disappointed in SM was how ash looked because he looked terrible, and because the start to the final season of that anime was ATROCIOUS
It's ironic how people called SM childish and dumbed down when it was the series that had episodes like Litten-Stoutland, Mallow and her mother, and Lillie and her family's entire backstory
XY and XYZ are undoubtedly my favorites. I mean between Ash-Greninja, mega evolutions, the battles (especially in the Kalos league), and the characters (mostly Ash's), this series is nearly perfect. Diamond and Pearl still ranks behind it in my opinion.
Really? After watching the series for so long, out of all of them I’d say XY/XYZ is mid. The only thing that carries it is Ash Greninja (who overshadowed the spotlight for damn near all of Ash’s team, the new said mega evolution and the very one sided Ash x Serena bs. Besides those, you never hear anyone say anything else about it. When you said the battles & especially for Kalos League, how could you enjoy such a rushed & short League conference? The battles were incredibly underwhelming (seriously? Both pokemon fainting back to back?). And lastly, Ash. Honestly, Ash’s character for the Kalos saga was very one dimensional even more so and he for the first time to me, felt like a generic anime protagonist with no depth. I feel like DP just had way more to offer in more in depth battles, a multitude of fun characters, an amazing rival with an amazing league (excluding Tobias 😂), I can keep going. XY/XYZ is WAY too overhyped than it should be
@@futureparadise.2089one of the main flaws that you should complain about in the XY anime is about the bs dynamic with Serena’s Pancham and Clemont’s Chespin which was Zoro & Sanii done bad with bs reasons. And Team Rocket were too serious at times. The plot issues that you have with the Kalos league, if you compare these issues with Pancham & Chespin where they’re goofing so many time and you’re gonna say that’s better than the climactic moments at the end of XYZ, then you are a girl who loves annoying babies.
I felt too like it was more so for a mature audience. The Japanese episodes are more fun to watch cause of the soundtrack and the voice acting, but even the seriousness of the battles were so evident. Ash vs Coroni was one of my takeaways when Pikachu and Lucario battles.
Thanks for sticking up for Sun and Moon - I think my list is basically the same as yours, with the top three being really close, SM usually coming out on top for me
Sun and Moons relaxed feeling that can sometimes be a bit more story was so awesome for me! It's definitely my favorite out of them all. The vibe was so awesome
Journeys felt like nostalgia bait tbh and while it was cool to see megas and z moves, it feels like false advertising because neither of those are even in swsh, there’s also pokemon that are in the show but not in the games, and don’t even get me started on Ash’s insufferable dracovish, it’s not cute or funny and whats worse is that the pokemon is in constant pain and the flesh is exposed IN A KIDS SHOW, also to make matters worse is that NO ONE has the balls to call him and Goh out on top of the infinite amount of worthless filler episodes!
@@gooey448journeys was good I'd say. It did feel like Sun and Moon, but skills wise was definitely stronger than he was in Sinnoh, Hoenn, Johto/Kanto, Unova and Kalos . I think what would have made that series better if he had the seriousness from XYZ in that series.
@@GameFreakSucksyour right, I don’t agree on the Dracovish flesh part but this series had so much they could have been doing and instead we got worthless filler.
XY might be my favorite with DP right behind it, but tbh I'll give the #1 spot to SM. While SM might have a lot less battles and not as deep character writing on a individual level as the other shows (key examples being Serena, Paul, etc), it has a such a good ending, not just with Ash winning for the first time, but with just how they handled everything about the last arc, from the League matches that actually showed every single round, the Ultra Hole invasion, Ash's battle with his father figure and even to his goodbye when he left the region. SM just stuck the landing in a way that none of the other seasons did so successful.
As a writer of different shows, Sun and Moon has better writing that XYZ. Also individual level was more explored than XYZ. Its on WRITERS perspective having background on how you write a story It
@@rolandotorralba5847 ironically some don't get that the pokemon anime is A scripted show and some do not get that all pokemon anime dubs are the same as the japan dub footage just with different name for the humans and pokemons and with the Japan text and symble and words edited off of building and signs before being aired out side of Japan six months later on
As a Gen Oner, I have to say; you basically got it spot on. I would maybe put the Originals higher, just because the emotions and starts of the journey were what set it up and epic. But diamond and pearl: i enjoyed a lot with more exploration of Dawn (although the battle frontier with legendaries and mixed teams from different regions ranks high as well), I loved the laid back vibe of sun and moon with less interruptions by team rocket, and x, y and z were indeed the best with the almost Champion ash and the final battles. It was as if they really fought to save the world for the first time. That made it super cool. AND Mega evolution trumps Z moves and especially trumps Gigantamax.
Sun and Moon was my first series and Ultra Sun was my first game, so it has a special place in my heart. I’m too young to see the original anime, or even Black and White. After watching Sun and Moon, I heard someone mention XY and XYZ, started binging it, and fell in love. The amazing art style and battles, the amazing characters and character development (Serena is my favorite character from the Pokémon Anime of all time) and the story really created the perfect Pokémon Anime. I’m also an amourshipper which may make me a bit biased, but who cares? Clemont was great, Bonnie was Max but actually good, Serena was Serena, and Ash acted like he was 15 instead of 10. What’s not to like?
Well I wasn't that satisfied because it was an easygoing league compared to others. No gym badges were required so that anyone can enter. Winning Masters 8 Tournament was able to make up all those league losses though
Yea Ya know its pretty easy when there are what like 16 participants in the alola leaugue compared to the 256 participants in the Kanto league especially when Half the trainers are in experienced like mallow, lana and sophicles who i cant recall them ever having more then 3 battles through the whole anime
@@CocoaTheBoo yeah and the after becoming league winner you'd still havr to battle the top 4 and the champion. Alola had neither so it was way too easy, I wish there that it was more of a challenge
@@OmEn2. Also dont forget that ash already won the orange leauge, It may not be in the games but that dont make it not an official leaugue Considering that the alola leaugue didnt involve any gym battles and jessie and james didnt do trials technically the orange leaugue is more legit then the alola leaugue
7 - Unova 6 - Hoenn 5 - Journeys 4 - Kanto/Jotho 3 - Alola 2 - Kalos 1 - Sinnoh (I really love this series, bonded with everything about it. My favorite pokemon is Infernape because of it. It's really particular, but by far my ultimate favorite)
Pretty much identical to me. Id just swap gen 2 and 8 i think. I think in the gen 1 anime ash would sometimes curse when arguing with misty in my language. I have this vague memory of ash responding with "when will you shut up about that retarded bike of yours, bitch?" To misty when mentioning he broke her bike.😂
I didn't even care about the art style change tbh. I was just interested almost all the time I'll agree some fillers here were actually enjoyable to watch. Others, not so much
The sad thing about Black & White is that a script on a cancelled episode incentivised that its plot was gonna go in a different direction, but got cancelled after some huge disaster on the studio.
XY and XYZ (also journeys + master journeys but not ultimate journeys) were the only seasons I fully watched, and multiple times for that matter. I loved the character development, the arcs, it was genuinely extremely well thought out. Almost every episode with the exception of a few fillers contributed to the story and that last scene with Serena and Ash shook the entire fandom (including me). Peak pokemon unless pokemon horizons is amazing.
Sun and moon is my favorite series because none of ash’s Pokémon were much stronger than the other every Pokémon was good and all of them was developed so well
While this isn't exactly how I'd rank them, I still think this is the first ranking video I've seen that I can actually agree with. Mostly because you actually put some respect on SM, the most criminally underrated gen in the fandom. Yes, the art style is a shock to the system, but you're so right that after like 10 eps you're used to it and can see the appeal. And despite the laid back feel of the show there's surprisingly not a lot of filler tbh. Most of the non-battle-centered eps were still doing a lot of work for character development. And you're right. DP, SM, and XY all feel like interchangeable top contenders. If someone asked me to rank those 3 specifically my answer would honestly change day by day.
Also in black and whites defence there was a lot of stuff that was gonna happen but couldn't like the team rocket vs plazma stuff which is why they were a lot more serious at the start.
I agree with all of this. Especially the sun and moon portion. I had just moved to the pacific coast (California) when that series came out, and it just felt fitting. The only things bad about it were probably the animation and Sophocles. Also XYZ is the goat
Great video! I like your list. Here's my list: 7. OS: The reason its at the bottom of my list is because I have not watched it yet. I do have plans to watch it, but becasue of the large amount of toxicity around this series, I've had to put it off. Now, I have heard good things and bad things about, and I have seen a few clips from friends and on UA-cam, but until I do watch it, it will unfortunately be at the bottom for me. 6. JN: Honestly, I wanted to put this at the bottom, but I felt that wouldn't make sense. The reason why its here is because of almost everything about the series; like its episodic structure, the cringe filler, the companions, and the Masters 8. Goh and Chloe were interesting characters at the beginning, but as the series went on, both grew stagnate and boring. The Masters 8 was what killed my desire to watch, as the battles were extremely rushed and boring, with the worst one being Diantha vs Leon. the only saving grace were returning companions and rivals like Brock, Serena, Dawn, Paul, and others. 5. BW: I'm a bit mixed on this series, because there are things I do like such Team Rocket, Team Plasma, Iris, and more. Although the League was dumpster trash, and Ash was forgetful throughout the series, I liked Iris because of her development throughout the show, and even Journeys. Ash's Pokemon and Iris' Dragonite were definitely the highlights of the series, as Krookidile was an absolute beast, and could rock a pair shades, Snivey was very interesting, and tough, despite its samll size. Dragonite is the real monster, as he loves to fight. Cilan is what I hated the most, as he came off as annoying throughout, and I also wish he had a more fleshed out goal. 4. AG: I actually really like this series because of the companions and contests. I do agree that Max was annoying, but he has grown on me over the past couple years. Personally, I think may is one of the best companions in the anime, just slighty ahead of Dawn, and just behind Brock and Serena. Ash was a bit rude, and rivals were also dull, but contests were amazing. I loved to watch them. The only rival I hate when it came to contests was Drew, because the vibe I got from him was that of a flirt and douche. 3. SM: Although I kind of hate the art style here, the battles, Z-moves and some of the companions and Pokemon were amazing. One of my favorite pokemon were Lycanroc and torracat, as I am not only a dog/cat person, but also because of their development. Seeing Lycanroc transform from rockruff was awesome, as we see how powerful he gets by the league. Torracat was especially amazing, because of its friendship with Meowth, and how emotional it would get episodes like when Stowtland died. I was struggling to hold back my tears. Lillie and Kiawe are by far my favorites in SM, as Lillie got a lot of development with her overcoming her fear and Kiawe defending his family. Mallow I liked as well because of her unique relationship with her family, and her mom. Lana was good too, but didn't do all that much, and Sophocles was boring. the league was great too, with some really awesome battles like Gladion vs Kiawe, and Ash vs Guzma. 2. DP: This series was amazing because of not only Ash and the League, but also his main rival, Dawn, and contests. Although she wasn't really my favorite in the beginning, Dawn quickly grew on me as an awesome companion. I loved her development throughout. the biggest highlight; however, was Ash's main rival, Paul. the reason I personally love him in DP is how his way of training clashes with Ash's, and after the league, he has respect for Ash. 1. XY/XYZ: Pretty much everything about it perfect. The artstyle, companions, rivals, gimmicks, Pokemon, and the evil team were all amazing. Bonnie was a huge step up from Max, as she more entertaining and interesting. Clemont was also entertaining and also brought us one of the best gym battles of the entire anime. Serena is definitely the best part of Ash's companions, having arguably the best development, which spilled over to Journeys, which continued to develop her. this was also the first time Pokemon had made a sort of romance between Ash and one of his female canpanions. despite Ash being dense, he does show that he might have some feelings for Serena. The Kalos League, while a massive bait, and rushed, was amazing for the battles, with Ash vs Sawyer being my favorites.
Have you watched the original series yet? I've only really watched the original series and Xyz. I do love the original series a lot. It was a dofferemt contrast from him when he was in XYZ (first season I watched), but it had amazing episodes, even the filler ones were amazing, and some of the funniest scenes I have seen.
I have not watched a lot of the series but my current ranking would be: 3: Black and White, I'm very mixed about this series especially since in Diamond and Pearl he was great, and this season made him look like a trainer that just relies on luck (at least for me). 2. Sun and Moon: I found this series while my brother was watching it from TV, and needless to say it was pretty damn great and exciting, though I don't like how they butchered Ash's design by making him look goofy, especially when comparing it to the previous series (XYZ). I haven't seen XYZ yet but with all the hype surrounding it I might as well if I find the time. And even though this one started a bit weird, as it progressed it actually felt great. 1. Diamond and Pearl: Funnily enough I had a bias where "older is worse" but when I saw this, needless to say it was amazing. My favorite thing about this series is Chimchar's story and development, they built it up so well that when Infernape and Electivire were fighting in the league I was cheering for Infernape a lot. It was the first time in a while I got to feel hyped. The only bad thing I could say is Tobias, he kinda ruined the flow of the league arc for me.
The original series had a lot of really good set ups that went NOWHERE. I recently rewatched "Mystery at the Lighthouse" because I wanted to experience the majestic nature that was Dragonite before he became mainstream. And I wanted to be reminded of how they viewed Pokémon back in the day. But other than "there are more pokémon out there," and Bill wanting to befriend the Dragonite (he literally says "I want to be your friend" like 4 times), there's not much else. I mean, there's Krabby, but I came for Dragonite. Even the scene with Dragonite is ruined when Team Rocket bombed it. And like, in retrospect, why would that harm it or scare it away? The episode just felt extremely bland.
Another issue I had with the Original Series was Gary. If you have to haye a character, it should be for the reason they’re going for, while simultaneously building something with the character. With Gary, I feel they haven’t really done that. Let’s give an example. Professor Oak is always singing his praises on how many Pokémon he’s been catching, but we rarely see Gary actually doing anything on-screen beyond antagonizing Ash. His accomplishments and capabilities are more talked about than actually shown, but whenever he’s on-screen, I feel he doesn’t really live up to the hype until the Johto League. There’s a regular but important rule when it comes to storytelling, especially in screenplay. “Show, don’t tell.” With Gary, I felt there was just too much talk, not enough show. Whenever he was on-screen, he was little more than an annoyance, until we actually see him doing stuff, which is usually quite rare. There are some moments where we actually see Gary doing something occasionally or talking about his Pokémon knowledge, but in the original series, especially in the first season, it just wasn’t enough. The show had the right ideas with Gary, but they just didn’t execute them properly in my opinion. Honestly, I find it funny for me to admit it, but I actually think later seasons/generations handle specific things better. Rivalries, character handling, battles, etc.
@@chrisclack4258 i know, but the episode doesn't spend much time on it. Bill doesn't know what it is, and he doesn't get much information on it when it appears.
XY and XYZ will stay my favorite in Ash's long journey. I agree with you Gooey from The Mature Ash, the companions, the battles, the megas and Ash Greninja. Journeys had amazing battles and S & M had great battling tournament but I will always hate the change in art style in S & M and getting Ash back to 10 years olds.
SM Ash is the same Ash from XY, its easily the best version of ash, possessing the skills of XY ash with laid backness and enjoyment if life. Unlike XY Ash this Ash has learnt that battles arent everything in life, ofcourse he gets serious when he needs to and becomes XY ash during battles.
I get why Max and Bonnie were main companions for ash but considering their younger siblings to May and Max and couldn’t use Pokémon on their own, but Bonnie was definitely an improvement with dedenye. Sorry for butchering that spelling lol
Glad I’m not the only one who loves the S&M series, Alola gets too much hate in general. Both the anime and the Ultra games were overshadowed by how GOATed the S&M games were but I love all 3
My list goes like this: 7) Black and White (And I say this as a hardcore Unova fan), 6) Advanced Generation, 5) Pokémon Journeys, 4) Original Series, 3) XY/XYZ, 2) Sun and Moon, & 1) Diamond and Pearl I really, really wish I could like XY/XYZ more than I do. I genuinely love the animation, its depiction of Ash and his battle skills, and most of the stories it tells. However, there's one major problem that sticks out to me about why I feel it's majorly held back and not the best series: Serena. Serena is a character that the writers clearly did not care about in regards to fleshing out her character arc to its real potential, as out of the 140 episodes of the series that exist, she gets about 12 of them (About 9% of the show's runtime, so not even a tenth) that actually focus on her wants, her goals, and the aspects of her character that aren't meant to solely be shipping fuel. She is utterly crippled narratively in comparison to some of the other companions, especially when lined up amongst a lot of the other girls who are present. (I also believe Showcases are a massive fucking downgrade from Contests and an utter waste of the amazing animation, but that's its own can of worms that I won't get into here.) What sucks the most is that the pieces for Serena to be a solid character are clearly there based on what we got. It wouldn't be that hard to tweak things to give her more time in the spotlight and more fleshing out. But the writers were more concerned about making a semi-canon love interest (which ended up being worthless anyway because that's always been the attitude of shipping Ash with anyone from a narrative perspective) that they watered her down to a VERY generic nice girl that is focused more on making doe eyes at Ash than being her own character. I'm not saying characters aren't allowed to have crushes or that romance can't be a part of a story. But no matter the franchise, you will ruin every single character that has said crush or romance being their MAIN character trait. Because then essentially are less of a character and more of a trope. And my biggest problem of all? The fans ate it up. They love this sort of shipping fuel. This barely fleshed out version of Serena was so accepted and beloved that it essentially gave the writers permission to never change her or make her go through any potential future development, so we're left with nothing but a vat of wasted potential. In my eyes, it's a tragedy because Serena could've been fucking fantastic and genuinely earned her place as one of the top Poke Girls of the anime. But she's instead left in this limbo of mediocrity that people don't accept as mediocrity because they like the tropes that surround her and therefore won't be critical of how her writing actually drags her down as a character. And when Poke Girls are meant to be a big deal as companions in the anime, it's important to consider if we actually love how the character is written or if we love them IN SPITE of how they were written. I apologize for getting on a soap box about this, but it's easy to get passionate about this sort of thing when you're in the minority about such opinions.
Thank you, I've always been in the minority, or what it feels like at least, in not liking Serena as much as a lot of other people Cause she's just the bland love interest trope. And she could have been a character first and ship second, but instead we got pieces of what her development/journey could have been until it was continously bogged down by being an Ash simp. Like her journey was there, just underdeveloped or weak in story, I guess. It's been a while since I've watched though, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Did she have a rival at all? It's like watching the same character again, like Sakura and Uraraka, who only exist to be the love interest trope. Although Uraraka wasn't that bad at first until later where it was all she talked about, she had a moment, with the speech that convinced everyone to let Deku stay. Sad that she and Deku never had a conversation after that, from my knowledge. It would have been good to see a heart to heart between them. Sorry for the long comment
The only disappointing thing to me about sun and moon was no gym battles. I missed them so much! You have no idea! Best thing about it was finally seeing Brock and Misty return again.
Nice list. (Glad to hear that you think Leon should've beat Ash. I agree!) My own Pokemon Anime Series List: 7. Pokemon Journeys 6. Pokemon Black & White 5. Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire 4. Pokemon The Original Series 3. Pokemon X & Y 2. Pokemon Sun & Moon 1. Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
Honestly why I don't like sun and moon that much is for following reasons: 1. I don't think it gave Ash enough spotlight in the anime. Too many side characters with their own arcs makes you forget who actually main character is and what is he even doing. 2. Battles were dry and predictable. Even though z moves were there , they still didn't feel as impactful as mega evolutions. For example 10 million volt thunderbolt. It felt like such a big thing but Ash only used it twice in whole series. Also Ash torracat and Incineror rivalry, growlett and decidueye rivalry , both lyconroc rivalry all were predictable. 3. League was a joke. In the whole league only interesting match was between professor kakui and Ash. All other battles were lame. All the obvious characters got into top 16. And they didn't have a full 6 pokemons. 4. He didn't catch as many pokemons and those he had their evolutions felt rushed except lyconroc. Incineror and melmetal were evolved too late and we didn't even get to see much of their appearances. Rowlett was coolest tho. 5. Honestly the end didn't feel as grand as other seasons and it felt forced. It did have some awesome moments though. Like baware, litten and even whole Lilly drama.
Ok I'll admit, Black and White was how I found out Pokemon, and Sun and Moon is my personal favorite. Finding out that most of the fandom actually doesn't like these two is kinda upsetting.
Personally I’d rate Journeys lower than middle. Despite the great battles and the darkest day story line Galar barely got featured, the fillers were pointless, and they focused more on Gohs never ending catching spree and even gave him 2 legendary Pokémon.

I love Pokémon for the battles so XYZ is on top but SM made me love the narrative bits far more that any other series could so it’s no 2 for me as well
My Rankings: 8. BW 7. OS Johto 6. OS Kanto 5. AG 4. JN 3. XY & XYZ 2. SM 1. DP Reasonings: 8 - I LOVE BW but the other series are kinda better ngl 7 & 6 (paired) - I wasn't a kid or even born at the time of kanto & johto's anime releases but I did watch them, I just wasn't filled with as much nostalgia as others from it. 5. AG - I don't remember this series that much, but from what I remember: Max was kinda annoying and May was pretty annoying at first too, and also had a lot of fillers. 4. JN - somewhat AMAZING FIGHTS, AMAZING ENDING, and Ash's team was super cool in this series (bonus), but there were some flaws: Ash being too OP with an inexperienced team Battles in M8 being skipped or going way too fast Chloe wasn't fleshed out Too much boring fillers Goh is too op for being too inexperienced and yeah 3. XY & XYZ - This would've been higher considering the quality and all the AMAZING fight scenes and storyline in the anime, but Ash Greninja and Serena make me cringe because of the fandom. Also, the league was rushed: and what was the point of those 'ripoff' contests? Overall, really amazing though. Especially Clemont, bro. He was the dawg! 2. SM - AMAZING ENDING AND FIGHTS, AMAZING RIVALS, and a very tropical vibe that I loved. I even had a bedsheet for this season, which shows something. All the pokemon on Ash's Team were cool and had amazing or even sad backstories; and I love how all the characters were super fleshed out. The lusamine and necrozma arcs were cool, and the league was top-tier. 1. Ash and Serena with Pikachu's volt tackle attack defeating all of Team Rocket Grunts. Giovanni and Persian goes into the helicopter for try to escape. Jessie, James, Meowth and Wobbuffet quits and escapes too with rocket jets. Matori escapes from the Doomsday Project's destruction with a small elevator. All Pokémon trainers and Team Rocket Grunts escapes from the Doomsday Project. Gary, Misty, Brock, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Bonnie, Clemont, Lana, Kiawe, Lillie, Sophocles, Mallow, Goh, Chloe, Danika, Quilon, Horace and Lyla escapes from the Doomsday Project and gets into the Project Mew's ship. Ash and Serena defeated Team Rocket. Pokémon Trainers celebrates Team Rocket's defeat. 26 years in the future. Ash and all of his old friends growing up and having their own children. Why didn't the Japanese producers and writers try harder to bring all of Ash's old friends into the final episode? I always say because the final episode isn't complete without all of Ash's friends. The Japanese producers and writers don't want to continue with Ash getting together with all his friends to fight Team Rocket, they don't want to plan Ash and Giovanni's final battle, they just keep ignoring all the plans.
Hahaha ya it seemz like that way... but it seems like the first generation is the one that is the most recognized (starters, theme, rival, pokegirl, and etc)
To people raging about Trip's Snivy beating Ash's Pikachu: In Ash's defense, Pikachu got hit by Zekroms lightning and got sick. Pikachu couldnt use any electric type moves, but Ash didnt know that. He kept using electric type attacks and didnt know why the HELL they werent working. Meanwhile ,Trips snivy was pulling out LEAF STORM, an OP grass move that is just grass type draco meteor.
Yess finally someone who has the same 1st and 2nd as mine, honestly i hated alola for the artwork, but i did give it a shot and it literally was so good, such a cheerful season
As a 30 yr old coming back after 20 years, obviously season 1-3, gen 1-2 are my favourites. But after trying almost all other series. I have to say, the one that stands out by a country mile was journeys. And yes that includes the filler, the magicarp slowpoke episode was hilarious, the pikachu running away with mr mime was just heartwarming. Some of the best episodes I’ve seen. I’d even put them higher than the originals if it weren’t for nostalgia. Next to that, I’d say XY was solid. Apart from that it is very hard to watch.
Basically: 4. Japan (Kanto-Johto-Hoenn-Sinnoh/ Original/Advanced/D&P) 3. United Kingdom (Galar/Journeys) 2. United States (Hawaii, New York/ B&W and S&M) 1. *France* (Kalos/XY/XYZ)
for me I personally would rank it like 7. OG Series: Something about it just didn't click with me, even when I was young watching it on VHS. It's still great, just not as fun for me as others. 6. Black and White: I stopped watching the anime regularly at this point but gen 5 is my favorite so I have plans to revisit it 5. XY: same with gen 5 anime, I wasnt watching at the time and so don't have much of an opinion. 4. Advanced: I liked the first few seasons of advanced but it really kicks off with the Battle Frontier, plus the theme songs all slap 3. Sinnoh: Same as Advanced but better imo. 2. Sun and Moon: This series is GOATed, I can never understand people who call the art style ugly. 1. Journeys: It feels like everything I ever loved about the pokemon anime updated and distilled into a new formula that felt refreshing and fun, plus it gave the conclusion to the Sun and Moon arc with Lillie and Gladion. I loved it and remember binging it on Netflix every time a new season dropped.
*My list and it's reasons why:* 7. Advanced Generation (same reasons mentioned in this video, Japanese music was great and the Battle Frontier helped a lot) 6. Black & White (same reasons mentioned in this video, underrated imo because an earthquake & tsunami destroyed this series) 5. Indigo League (I don't get it why he was handed to many badges, didn't feel like Misty got a lot of development and a lot of releases) 4. Journeys (this series had a lot more potential with it's concept. Chloe, Goh and especially the rankings suffered from filler) 3. Diamond & Pearl (it's nice that they kept coordinators in, alongside with all elite 4 members and a balanced team for Ash) 2. X & Y (Ash-Greninja brought hype to this series and the battles were really great but team rocket brought this down) 1. Sun & Moon (although the animation style isn't great the story of the series is great and I feel like every main character got development) Ash had a Rowlet, Lycanroc, Incineroar, Melmetal, Naganadel & Pikachu during the Sun & Moon series. I had a Canary, Beagle (dog), Black Cat, Grey Cat and 2 Pomerians during the Sun & Moon series. Sadly, the Canary, Beagle & Grey Cat passed away during & after the series. *May you rest in peace, Pieteke, Lobke & Sheba!*
Sun and Moon had more companions, but I feel that XYZ was more mature in terms of Ash's development. Taking ownership on his responsibilitoes as a trainer, Ash Greninja, the love chemistry between him and Serena. Even the first battle with ash and Team Rocket.
Your top 3 is mine as well. I honestly hated sun and moon at first but then I actually watched it and I loved it. Once you get past the art style it’s a very good series. I didn’t agree with pokemon BW being not last. Imo nothing is worse than that. But overall very good list
I think what made a lot of people, including me, be uncertain about Sun and Moon was the change. Ash was finally maturing in XYZ and then they suddenly change him back to the goofy Ash. Although it took me a while, I eventually got used to it and I couldn't agree more that it was the most underrated Pokemon series
Wow, my favourite series was at number 1! 😱😱😱 Of course it is I'm just silly! 😂😂😂 Sun and Moon, I mean, what's really to care about the art style? The episodes were pretty much good most of the time, and sometimes style isn't always important, to me at least. BW is of course hated and AG series to me sounds similar, but each to me felt lacked a lot. So, thinking about it I'd agree with AG series being worse than BW because after all I did feel the Unova league was more fun than the Hoenn league. I was a huge fan of Diamond and Pearl and what's much to not like? The original series is cool, and especially in the English dub we got some of the most memorable and brilliant music back then for the openings and episodes! Too bad though it had the most banned episodes though in English dub 😞. So, for the number 1... XY and XYZ! Ash-Greninja, Serena, Mega evolution, Ash's battling style and ways he battled, Pikachu at super strong strength especially beating 2 pseudo legendary Pokémon of Alain and so much more! That's why I think it's number 1 too, and my favourite! Love your video Gooey448

My rankings from favorite to least favorite 1: Sinnoh - My Gen 4 Bias is shamelsss, it’s my favorite region and all. Dawn was the best of Ash’s travel girls and got good character development. Paul was an excellent rival and Chimchar’s story made it all the better. Filler aside, this was an amazing season. But honestly, you could swap this and #2 around, depends on how I’m feeling that day. 2: Sun and Moon - Criminally underrated, hands down one of the best we’ve ever gotten. I don’t care what the Kalos fans have to say about it, Alola speaks for itself and gave us rather emotional moments that hit way harder than anything we got in Kalos. 3: Hoenn - Good region, good companions, May’s rivals were memorable and Harley in particular was such a petty bitch (I love this guy 😅) 4: Unova - Ash being a dummy aside, this season was actually pretty good and was a much better take on Kanto if you ask me. They also handled Ash having more than 6 Pokémon far better than Kanto did. 5: Kanto/Johto - I’m gonna be honest, the OG has not aged well, and I’d be lying if I said I even remembered most of it 😅. The whole thing was all over the damn place and while I love Brock and Misty, they didn’t get much of anything to do in the show itself. Also the Indigo league is just bad, too much team rocket shenanigans and not enough actual Pokémon leaguing happening at the Pokémon league 6: Journeys - there are some good individual episodes in here and there, but otherwise this season was a fuster cluck of terrible pacing, piss poor decisions, and was an utter waste of time. Frankly we shoulda just gotten a proper Galar season instead of this crap. The Masters 8 especially was the single worst tournament arc in Pokémon I have seen to date. The pacing was utter shit, the knockouts were crap, and the amount of plot armor and plot contrivances they used to get Ash to Leon, and to the trophy at the end was insufferable. Honestly the only good battles we got out of this were Cynthia vs Iris, Diantha vs Lance, and some parts of Cynthia and Leon just utterly dominating and styling on Ash. Ash should have never gotten past Steven Stone, much less Cynthia, and don’t even get me started on the bullshit with Eternatus showing up and granting one more Dynamax just so Pikachu could one shot Cinderace and Leon forgets he has Libero and a ground type move 🤦🏻♂️😑 7: Kalos - Probably gonna get a lot of hate for this, but sorry folks I’m not gonna lie. I gave this season a fair chance, but dear Arceus, the only good thing that came outta this season for me were the Mega Evolution specials. Though I’d be lying if I said the backlash over the Kalos league wasn’t unironically hilarious back when it happened 😅 I hated Ash-Greninja. I hated the heavily shonen style they went with for this season. I don’t hate Bonny but I hated her taking over Brock’s shtick of hitting on anything with two legs and a vagina (I got sick of it with Brock, it wasn’t funny when she did it either). Clement’s inventions shtick got old real fast. Serena was boring as all hell and it took way too damn long for her to even make her first catch, much less anything relevant that wasn’t her one sided crush on Ash. Also Amourshipper fans are really damn annoying 😓🤦🏻♂️ Again, the best thing I got out of Kalos were the mega evolution specials, and the sheer levels of salt that came out of the Kalos League finale. I barely put journeys above Kalos cuz journeys had more individual episodes I liked.
At this point S&M is perfectly rated because I've seen so many people say its underrated 😭 I never watched XYZ but Ive heard good things about it... I loved the OG ik nostaliga carries but still. Not a big pokemon guy, so idk what my ranking would be.
The top 3 are amazing series. I still think Sun and Moon technically has a better ending than XY/XYZ but both of them are #1 to me for different reasons.
What does you’re list consist of?
I would have black and white top 3 because of Iris mainly. I love the whole whing where Iris just calls ash a kid, and it is HILLARIOUS
1. XY
2. DP
3. Sun and Moon
4. Journeys (mostly for the fanservice and Ash's wins over Cynthia and Leon)
5. Advanced
6. Original series
7. Black and White
@@thepedanticpickle it was also extremely annoying. I know ash was an idiot in unova but constantly insulting him like that wasn't going to help anything

@@eljordinio7647 i like your ideas bro. Hey, long time no see
@@BenjaminM.21 thanks. Been a while
XY/XYZ is definitely one of the best ones! From the art style, to the Pokémon, characters, story lines it had it all🏆🔥
I like infernape the most
My favorite ever, from start to finish.
Plus amour shipping is my favorite and first ship
agreed but I say XY/XYZ are the best.
Whoa whoa whoa what about best pokegirl?
Yeah actually ❤❤
The one thing I feel that B&W did right was the mini tournaments. Those were amazing episodes in my honest opinion.
I also love team rocket in the for the first two seasons because I always hate how they interrupt for JJ and original it was a nice break.
Those episodes gave good spotlight to the rivals like Georgia and Bianca, the episodes with N were also good highlights from Black and White.
XY/XYZ is WAY too overhyped than it should be
@@futureparadise.2089 you just dont get it, but thats okay, happens
@@deadblocko “you just don’t get it”, then proceeds to not explain how I don’t get it. Get what? Care to elaborate? I’m all ears 👂🏾

I don’t mind sun & moon but it can be filler at points
Thanks for sticking up for Sun and Moon - I think my list is basically the same as yours, with the top three being really close, SM usually coming out on top for me

Probably the most underrated of them all.
Sun and Moon was just a fun series compared to Journeys.

Great Ranking with good reasoning. You made me to agree with your ranking. Good job gooey.
Glad to hear it
XYZ and XY were the reason I started playing Pokémon X and Y on the 3 DS. And it was the best anime series in Pokémon history.
I'm currently watching XY and XYZ at this time, and I can definitely agree with this dude's opinion. Also, I kinda like Goodra myself :D
Sun and Moons relaxed feeling that can sometimes be a bit more story was so awesome for me! It's definitely my favorite out of them all. The vibe was so awesome
same here bud
yeah, the pokemons, feeling, vibe, tropical atmosphere, battles,z moves etc were so good and I miss sun and moon so much
I respect this guy
Agree
Same it's just so good I can't bring myself to have another favourite series.
Journeys in one line " a missed opportunity "
Lol
Its on WRITERS perspective having background on how you write a story

To be fair, in Sun and Moon, ash did not have to fight a singular gym.
I still get chills with Xy and Xyz like. GAW DAMN
I’m really happy you put sun and moon so high up to be honest, I still love watching it sometimes it’s the best in my opinion
You just got a like and a sub for putting sun and moon in Top #3
The xyz intro hit hard 💀💯🔥
What’s not to like?
amourshipper is serena and ash right?
anyways yeah i agree with your points
ikr
It just didn't feel like Ash's anime tbh. Too many characters and bland league matches
Thank you for putting sun and moon in the top 3, you got +1 sub
Pokemon Sun Moon is the best for me since Ash actually wins the major regional pokemon league.
Well I wasn't that satisfied because it was an easygoing league compared to others. No gym badges were required so that anyone can enter. Winning Masters 8 Tournament was able to make up all those league losses though
@@jetguy128 same no gyms and top 4 and champ battles. Cuz alola didn't had any.

Interesting
Pretty much identical to me. Id just swap gen 2 and 8 i think. I think in the gen 1 anime ash would sometimes curse when arguing with misty in my language.
I have this vague memory of ash responding with "when will you shut up about that retarded bike of yours, bitch?" To misty when mentioning he broke her bike.😂
I am so happy you put sun and moon high, a lot of people give it hate but I love it soooo much!
fr my first and fav series 😆
my favorite classmate of ash's was Sophocles
I didn't even care about the art style change tbh. I was just interested almost all the time
I'll agree some fillers here were actually enjoyable to watch. Others, not so much
Same i love it it's so 🤣
Apart from art style and retconning ash's character development that he got in XY , the story is literally best
The sad thing about Black & White is that a script on a cancelled episode incentivised that its plot was gonna go in a different direction, but got cancelled after some huge disaster on the studio.
My guess for your rankings
8:BW
7:OS Johto
6:AG
5:OS Kanto
4:JN
3:SM
2:DP
1:XY
i agree with xy
XY goated
Pokémon XY/XYZ. I agree. Best series ever!
I agree with all of this. Especially the sun and moon portion. I had just moved to the pacific coast (California) when that series came out, and it just felt fitting. The only things bad about it were probably the animation and Sophocles.
Also XYZ is the goat
The art style meant z moves were more fluent in animation, and the kukui battle had quite the animation, action and flare to it
Great video! I like your list. Here's my list:
I have not watched a lot of the series but my current ranking would be:
3: Black and White, I'm very mixed about this series especially since in Diamond and Pearl he was great, and this season made him look like a trainer that just relies on luck (at least for me).
The episode just felt extremely bland.
ironically that dragonite was A unknown pokemon on that pokemon anime episode some over look that fact
@@jakandratchet9930 there is so fucking much wrong with the first season anime, I could write a thesis.
Bill and the rest had no idea that dragonite was A dragonite
I love black and white because it was the first Pokemon season that I watch and it's my second favourite season right behind XY
i love your content so much!! you are totally awesome! 🤩🤩
Living on an island made SM's relaxing atmosphere really relatable. Which is why it is #1 for me
Preciate the video Gooey I agree.
Finally, sun and moon deserves #1 or #2 just the vibe of the tropical is sick
Gooey is my favourite youtuber especially loving goodra
Glad I’m not the only one who loves the S&M series, Alola gets too much hate in general. Both the anime and the Ultra games were overshadowed by how GOATed the S&M games were but I love all 3
The league is amazing but i still don't like the weird artwork they did Ash desing in SM is kinda goofy
1st time I've seen someone rank sun and moon this high
My list goes like this: 7) Black and White (And I say this as a hardcore Unova fan), 6) Advanced Generation, 5) Pokémon Journeys, 4) Original Series, 3) XY/XYZ, 2) Sun and Moon, & 1) Diamond and Pearl
I really, really wish I could like XY/XYZ more than I do.
(I also believe Showcases are a massive fucking downgrade from Contests and an utter waste of the amazing animation, but that's its own can of worms that I won't get into here.)
What sucks the most is that the pieces for Serena to be a solid character are clearly there based on what we got.
Thank you, I've always been in the minority, or what it feels like at least, in not liking Serena as much as a lot of other people
Cause she's just the bland love interest trope.
Honestly agree with the top 3. Those are Pokemon at it's peak.
The only disappointing thing to me about sun and moon was no gym battles. I missed them so much! You have no idea! Best thing about it was finally seeing Brock and Misty return again.
Wait really?
@@cheekschu2152 well it goes both ways to me I guess?
I started with the OG and till now so I understand some of these rankings lol
Xyz is the best series BY FAR
Nice list. (Glad to hear that you think Leon should've beat Ash. I agree!)
My own Pokemon Anime Series List:
7. Pokemon Journeys
6. Pokemon Black & White
5. Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire
4. Pokemon The Original Series
3. Pokemon X & Y
2. Pokemon Sun & Moon
1. Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
Finally true anipoke fan since Kanto is here instead stupid Gou midoriya toxic stan fan .I am first 3 rank
You are my friend from rn
Pokemon journeys better than black and white
Sun&Moon over Diamond & Pearl is crazy 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Honestly why I don't like sun and moon that much is for following reasons:
Finding out that most of the fandom actually doesn't like these two is kinda upsetting.
i like black and white series more than other series. it is my favourite
Personally I’d rate Journeys lower than middle. Despite the great battles and the darkest day story line Galar barely got featured, the fillers were pointless, and they focused more on Gohs never ending catching spree and even gave him 2 legendary Pokémon.
Pokemon journeys anime because trash because of Gou character also pokemon go app in every episodes also steal many spotlight ash character that supposed main focus in ash last adventure series
@@Nazmi-xy6np sadly this is true, Ash’s last series had be shared with the anime personification of a crazy Pokémon go player

Oh your my best friend in a world we must defend
I will travel across the land searching far and wide each pokemon to understand the power that’s inside

What the pokemon anime community fails to understand. Imagine if someone called the events that you enjoy in your own life filler.
@@Denshi55 it was cool and offered representation for a different side of the franchise
I love Pokémon for the battles so XYZ is on top but SM made me love the narrative bits far more that any other series could so it’s no 2 for me as well
I love the first art style for Pokemon. I'm neutral on Sun and Moon, it could have been great if they showed every z moves and not stay in one place.
XY is where it belongs. At the top. Same with Sun and Moon and DP. They're goated
Shame pokemon journey anime become trash because Gou character and pokemon go app in every episode
finally, someone who ranks sun and moon high :)
Please don’t put alohla at bottom people say it’s bad but it’s really good
Obviously xy ❤
Gen 4 for me, but gen 6 is a very close second. 7 and 8 were great too.
My Rankings:
8. BW
7. OS Johto
6. OS Kanto
5. AG
4. JN
3. XY & XYZ
2. SM
1. DP
Reasonings:
8 - I LOVE BW but the other series are kinda better ngl
7 & 6 (paired) - I wasn't a kid or even born at the time of kanto & johto's anime releases but I did watch them, I just wasn't filled with as much nostalgia as others from it.
5. AG - I don't remember this series that much, but from what I remember: Max was kinda annoying and May was pretty annoying at first too, and also had a lot of fillers.
4. JN - somewhat AMAZING FIGHTS, AMAZING ENDING, and Ash's team was super cool in this series (bonus), but there were some flaws:
Ash being too OP with an inexperienced team
Battles in M8 being skipped or going way too fast
Chloe wasn't fleshed out
Too much boring fillers
Goh is too op for being too inexperienced
and yeah
1. DP - I could list so much about this anime:
AMAZING RIVALS (top tier)
AMAZING POKEMON BACKSTORIES
AMAZING FIGHTS
BEST GIRL COMPANION (DAWN)
PAUL
AMAZING FILLERS
one flaw being: why tf did they do Ambipom so dirty
Great list and reasonings. Clement is the dawg
Honestly to be fair though, it's not like the alola league was a very hard pokemon league after all
People saying that SM is the best only because of Ash won the Alola league. Its a lame thing to say for something that happen at the very end of that series.
In my head I like to think Chloe was a main travelling companion since she fits the female character of the journey series really well.
that buss kill she is better off becoming mew and be caught by goh the only time where A human who became A pokemon that need two be caught in side of A poke ball she will be doing the universe A favor by be coming mew and be coming one of Goh pokemons she as mew can use transform to take back her human appearance since it would avoid her Chloe Cerise having any future bad hair days
Ash's final episode is not completed, there's something missing in this episode: Giovanni telling to Matori to study the doomsday project information. Team Rocket's doomsday project builded. Team Rocket tries to steal Ash's Pikachu again. Officer Jenny saving Ash and Pikachu from the Team Rocket. Team Rocket's Doomsday Pod arriving in Pallet Town. Gary's Umbreon saving Ash and Delia from the Team Rocket's Doomsday Pod. Professor Oak sending messages to regions and all of Ash's friends through Pidgey. Ash reuniting all of his old friends (Misty, Brock, May, Max, Dawn, Iris, Cilan, Serena, Bonnie, Clemont, Lana, Kiawe, Lillie, Sophocles, Mallow, Goh and Chloe). Tracey shows to Gary a photo of the Team Rocket's doomsday project. Ash and all of his old friends teams up with Gary and the members of Project Mew to fight against Team Rocket. Members of the Project Mew arrives to Team Rocket's Doomsday Project. Ash, his old friends and Gary goes into the Team Rocket's doomsday project. Team Rocket Grunts surrounding Horace and Lyla. Ash and his Pikachu defeating the Team Rocket Grunts. Team Rocket Grunts surrounding and taking Danika and Quilon to the temporary command center. Ash and Pikachu goes to the Team Rocket's Doomsday Machine. Giovanni capturing Ash and his Pikachu. Team Rocket locked Pikachu in the cage. Ash is locked in the cage by Giovanni ("But, in every game, there are winners and there are losers. And as you know, in this game...losers...gave their Pokémon!"). Giovanni using Pikachu's power to rule the world. Pikachu explodes the cage with his thunderbolt to escape and save Ash from the Team Rocket. Ash tells to Gary that Doomsday Machine is indestructible to all proof of destruction. Ash runs to the Kanto's graveyard and sees his dead father's grave. Gary tells Ash never to give up. Mewtwo appears and mentions to Ash that power energy stones are the only hope to defeat Team Rocket. Ash and Pikachu arrives to the Team Rocket's headquarters.
Alola League's never been an official Pokémon League. They just wanted to give Ash some redeem after the they let us down in XYZ.
Exept it's official. There was no gym leaders, doesn't mean that it's not.
LETS GO, SUN AND MOON AT 2 MAKES ME SO HAPPY! My first ever pokemon game. And I love the whole vibe of it!!
I 100% agree with you on sun and moon
Great ranking! 👍🏾
Glad you enjoyed it 😊
Sun and Moon really gave Ash a new home. The slice of life stuff grew on me in that series
I know I’m weird but I love the black and white series. I started getting into Pokemon when I was 12 and that was when all the Unova Pokémon came out.
I think most people would agree that DPP, SM and XY are the three seasons that stand out the most in terms of quality.
Hahaha ya it seemz like that way... but it seems like the first generation is the one that is the most recognized (starters, theme, rival, pokegirl, and etc)
To people raging about Trip's Snivy beating Ash's Pikachu:
In Ash's defense, Pikachu got hit by Zekroms lightning and got sick. Pikachu couldnt use any electric type moves, but Ash didnt know that. He kept using electric type attacks and didnt know why the HELL they werent working. Meanwhile ,Trips snivy was pulling out LEAF STORM, an OP grass move that is just grass type draco meteor.
couldn't agree more !
I see
Basically:
4. Japan (Kanto-Johto-Hoenn-Sinnoh/ Original/Advanced/D&P)
3. United Kingdom (Galar/Journeys)
2. United States (Hawaii, New York/ B&W and S&M)
1. *France* (Kalos/XY/XYZ)
Perfect list
for me I personally would rank it like
7. OG Series: Something about it just didn't click with me, even when I was young watching it on VHS. It's still great, just not as fun for me as others.
6. Black and White: I stopped watching the anime regularly at this point but gen 5 is my favorite so I have plans to revisit it
5. XY: same with gen 5 anime, I wasnt watching at the time and so don't have much of an opinion.
4. Advanced: I liked the first few seasons of advanced but it really kicks off with the Battle Frontier, plus the theme songs all slap
You should watch XY it’s absolutely incredible especially XYZ 😊
Please don't put BW at the bottom 🥺
Like fr it was good in its way
Innit it’s so nostalgic
Im glad that it isn’t the lowest.
*My list and it's reasons why:*
7. Advanced Generation (same reasons mentioned in this video, Japanese music was great and the Battle Frontier helped a lot)
6. Black & White (same reasons mentioned in this video, underrated imo because an earthquake & tsunami destroyed this series)
5. Indigo League (I don't get it why he was handed to many badges, didn't feel like Misty got a lot of development and a lot of releases)
4. Journeys (this series had a lot more potential with it's concept. Chloe, Goh and especially the rankings suffered from filler)
3. Diamond & Pearl (it's nice that they kept coordinators in, alongside with all elite 4 members and a balanced team for Ash)
2. X & Y (Ash-Greninja brought hype to this series and the battles were really great but team rocket brought this down)
1. Sun & Moon (although the animation style isn't great the story of the series is great and I feel like every main character got development)
Ash had a Rowlet, Lycanroc, Incineroar, Melmetal, Naganadel & Pikachu during the Sun & Moon series.
Yes Sun and Moon were amazing, great tastes man
Advanced is my favorite series. Its to underrated for me.
Finally someone who appreciates Sun and Moon
i agree with every you said but I just cant pick between sun and moon and xyz so difficult
Sun and Moon had more companions, but I feel that XYZ was more mature in terms of Ash's development. Taking ownership on his responsibilitoes as a trainer, Ash Greninja, the love chemistry between him and Serena. Even the first battle with ash and Team Rocket.
DP at the top no contest
x and y had a great intro also
Your top 3 is mine as well. I honestly hated sun and moon at first but then I actually watched it and I loved it. Once you get past the art style it’s a very good series. I didn’t agree with pokemon BW being not last. Imo nothing is worse than that. But overall very good list
For your gripes about Journeys, I want to believe that COVID changed a lot of plans when it came to the plot.
My ranking😊:
1. XY/XYZ
2. Diamond and pearl
3. Sun and moon
4. Journeys
5. Original series
6. Advanced
7. Black and white

Yes I predicted it XY number 1
Absolutely agree with you too on the rankings for the very same reasons!
Every series in this video had their own good way, which i can agree on.
My rankings from favorite to least favorite
1: Sinnoh - My Gen 4 Bias is shamelsss, it’s my favorite region and all.
3: Hoenn - Good region, good companions, May’s rivals were memorable and Harley in particular was such a petty bitch (I love this guy 😅)
4: Unova - Ash being a dummy aside, this season was actually pretty good and was a much better take on Kanto if you ask me.
Also the Indigo league is just bad, too much team rocket shenanigans and not enough actual Pokémon leaguing happening at the Pokémon league
6: Journeys - there are some good individual episodes in here and there, but otherwise this season was a fuster cluck of terrible pacing, piss poor decisions, and was an utter waste of time.
Ash should have never gotten past Steven Stone, much less Cynthia, and don’t even get me started on the bullshit with Eternatus showing up and granting one more Dynamax just so Pikachu could one shot Cinderace and Leon forgets he has Libero and a ground type move 🤦🏻♂️😑
7: Kalos - Probably gonna get a lot of hate for this, but sorry folks I’m not gonna lie. I gave this season a fair chance, but dear Arceus, the only good thing that came outta this season for me were the Mega Evolution specials. Though I’d be lying if I said the backlash over the Kalos league wasn’t unironically hilarious back when it happened 😅
I hated Ash-Greninja. Also Amourshipper fans are really damn annoying 😓🤦🏻♂️
Again, the best thing I got out of Kalos were the mega evolution specials, and the sheer levels of salt that came out of the Kalos League finale. I barely put journeys above Kalos cuz journeys had more individual episodes I liked.
My ranking:
1🏆: Alola
2: Sinnoh
3: Unova
4: Kanto
5: Kalos
6: Johto
7: Journeys
8: Hoenn

At this point S&M is perfectly rated because I've seen so many people say its underrated 😭 I never watched XYZ but Ive heard good things about it... I loved the OG ik nostaliga carries but still. Not a big pokemon guy, so idk what my ranking would be.
I respect your opinion but xy will always be the best series for me.
i liked black white only in one aspect thats it was action packed like having a tournament every 25 episodes is very soothing
Nice video
Thanks!
The top 3 are amazing series. I still think Sun and Moon technically has a better ending than XY/XYZ but both of them are #1 to me for different reasons.
I’m happy with this tier list
I mean technically the snivy was at least level 16 because it knew leaf tornado
