Can you share anything for muscle atrophy and loss of motion after IMN surgery? I've had problems mostly with my ankle with motion loss and pain, but also pain in the back of my knee like you describe here.
My popliteus had to be slightly cut during a bicondylar tibial plateau fracture surgery. I've been looking for stretches for it that actually work as it gets tight some days now that I'm healed. TY so much!
This is exactly what I've been dealing with after having an IM nail implanted in my tibia in January. It's been so hard to find anything about this pain!
Even before I got to the popliteus I noticed I had a lot of tension and pain in my calves due to my power walking and not really stretching as I should have! Wow thank you for this bc I was wondering why the back of my knees were hurting me when I never had that feeling before. Now I feel much better! Thank you so much ❤
I thank you for all the advice you gave. I am having a problem with a sharp jamming pain cut across the back of my knee when I am standing and to take the first step that is when it happens . Please let me know what is causing it.
How sir.. did u catched my mind voice.. for the last two days I have the same pain.. this is unexpected video sir. Thank u so much. Really missed your videos before my sciatica surgery sir😔
I think I strained mine mowing my lawn through thick grass I did go to the Dr but he did nothing I slept with a pillow under my legs and massaged a lot I limped a week so it took a month for it to stop hurting I’m good now
Thankyou SO much for your videos.. I've been so worried about my knee as my movement is so important to me and it was really depressing me to be feeling pain when i step down off things... I'm really hoping it's not a torn miniscus so I'm going to try all kinds of excercises to see if it's my muscles needing toned up to get my knee tracking better etc I've been doing a lot of lunges type stuff and I'm thinking that's maybe what's damaged my knee but i really hope not or that it's fixable with the right excercises (and rest) through time i hope life will be Really good for you.. thanks so much for your trying to help us all.. your video is so helpful and extremely well explained and demonstrated thanks so much Best wishes to you from Rolland in Scotland
Injury to the popliteus muscle may cause the formation of a popliteal cyst, aka Baker's cyst. A major cause of injury is due to muscle weakness. So, in short, yes. Hope this helps!
@@DrRowe Really! Very interesting! I suffer unbearable Chronic Pain, but when it all started in 2010, one of things it started with was two baker's cysts. I have had severe M.E. for 31 years, and frequent Migraines etc. Before the Baker's Cysts and the unbearable nerve type pain plus bone pain in my sit bones, coccyx, backs of thighs, and running down to my feet, including my heels, I was able to "try" and do things. Since 2010 though, I've also had a fall, which has called terrible knee pain plus right elbow, where I landed. Then, out of the blue, the nurse "guessed" that I had broken my Phalanges and torn my ligaments in my foot, just walking into the living room! That still has me limping too, when I stand for too long, or walk around the garden. I'm in the uk, and although we have free healthcare, it's absolutely terrible, compared to what you get in the US, if you are able to pay, or have insurance. Most of my pain, has either been diagnosed initially by me, or has been guessed at by the drs and nurses. I'm in soooo much pain, that I literally have to go to bed for 2 x 2-days per week, taking sleeping tablets and codeine or Diazepam & Codeine to "try" and dope me, so I sleep as much as possible....the codeine has NEVER given ANY pain relief, and they barely work any more, as I've been on them for years, for Migraines. I get a Migraine whilst I'm in bed for that long too, as they are connected with my sinuses in some way. If it wasn't for this pain, I "may" only have one 2-day migraine per week. Thank you so much for your videos. 💐 I've saved a lot of them, as they appear to correspond to my areas of pain, but it's so complicated nowadays that I'm unable to do most things, like in this video, which would instantly aggravate the Baker's cysts etc.
very wordy..if only to cut so many unnecessary descriptions like the materials to be used. we can think of that. just go direct to the essentials explanations and techniques..treat us with brains too
What nonsense. The guy can't even pronounce the name of the muscle. He calls himself a doctor when he's not. The massages that he recommends have nothing to do with the popliteus muscle. Time to move on...

Hi. Thank you. If this muscle is weak, does it causes Bakers cyst? Or is it part of that problem?
