You probably know about Bulwark by now, it's been two years after this comment afterall, but he said he intends to try making different game genres all within the same world. The upcoming title is a city builder.
So was Stardew Valley. I've yet to play this game but you can see the love for the 16 bit era Harvest Moon game in that product and that's really cool because I remember loving playing Harvest Moon on the SNES back in the day.
The game is surprisingly rich in world building, but dear god there are like 3 different mission types and so much flying over empty stretches of water... and the escort missions where you're following a painfully slow boat from place to place were excruciating.
To be honest. I didnt like it and i got it for free on gamepass. I tried. I was even bored of everything else. Downloaded this and also paid 25 australian for Carmageddon Maximum Damage and got 100x more value for money and 1 was part of a subscription
At the beginning of the review I said exploring the secrets of the great Earthsea. Am I mistaken or is this game based off of the Earthsea book series?
Umm you missed one...The Falconeer physical sells for $39.99 for the Series X. I literally just bought it and because it's sold out everywhere I had to have it shipped. I don't care as the game is truly spectacular (I played at a friend's home on his Series X). I'm very excited to jump back in with my own playthrough. The graphics in 4K@60FPS are absolutely stunning on the Series X. I do agree the voice acting is grating and...just loud.
@@BLAZINGICE333 Yeah...we (fiancee and I) like actually owning our games. When Microsoft pulls the Falconeer off GamePass I will still have it. Further, games like The Falconeer were released in very limited quantities and as it ages it will gain in value. I'm actually thinking about buying a second copy to keep sealed (we do this all the time). This also helps support the developer and will insure future installments. We typically use GamePass as a rental service. Once we find a game we like we purchase it. As my fiancee is a PlayStation girl and I'm more of an Xbox guy we buy games based on our preferred console. She has played games (recently) on GamePass only to purchase the PS5 version instead. We actually just did this last week (it was a disaster). I purchased Tales of Vesperia for the Series X and she picked up the PS5 version. Now we have two copies...oops. Not that we care as the game is amazing and we're both playing at the same time. She's on the PS5 and I'm on the Series X.
@@Sinn0100 ya oops buying the game multiple times. You have money to spend. Most my games I playthrough when they're available on pass. I stick to 1 sp game at a time and finish it. playing this game, it's a really good concept. If this was in a show with a decent making a LOT of people would enjoy it. It just kind of sucks that the implenetation of the concept was significant enough to prevent the game from really shining.
the wonky port controls seem stiffeling at first. but once you learn the basics you can master the flight control with a mouse alone in about 30 minutes. I find setting it to "easy"mode at first allowed me to quickly leap the curve now I am playing at "hardcore". do not use the "gamepad" if you have a good mouse it is far more natural to control your bird and aim with a mouse!
In 1992, Ken Mortimer was an advertising executive in Baltimore, Maryland. Then, for reasons known only to him, he left his wife and career and moved deep into the forest. Now, he is known ONLY AS… THE FALCONER
I don't understand did she just skip to chapter 4 and not play the other stories obviously they designed the game to have a power ramp chapter 1-4. Or does she mean go back and look for secrets and side missions that would tell more story? Because only one of those is a valid criticism.
Excellent review - thank you for your time putting all this together - you cover so much detail in only 3 minutes! Nice to hear an Aussie reviewing games too.
I got this game, but i had to get a refund because using my controller cause the UI to go insane and rapidly go through menu options. I did try verifying the files and reinstalling it, but it didn't work. I use a wireless Switch controller that works with PC's, so that may have been the problem. It looks like a fantastic game, but having a bug like that made it incredibly annoying.
Why? Not that I'm solely an "Xbox fan." We (fiancee and I) like to call ourselves gamers and we play everything. I stupidly passed on the game this past Christmas only to try it at a friend's home. I liked it so much that I ran out and purchased a copy for our Series X today. The game looks drop dead gorgeous in 4K@60FPS w/HDR10. The gameplay is fast and engaging. The only area it stutters is in the voice work.
Kinda what I expected when I first saw it on GOG.com. Reminds me of those B-Tier games that you'd find in an Office Depot where you don't expect much and leave wishing it was better because it is SO COOL. Might pick this up.

Seems like a unique game with some good ideas. Shame some of the implementation fell flat, but still might be worth checking out.
Don’t take her word. Try the game yourself
Really enjoyed this game, did the whole story, sure its got some negatives but hey, one person made this. Pretty epic. Hope he does a sequel
The game itself looks boring after 15min but the fact that it was made by 1 person makes me take that back and look at the game in awe. Kinda weird

Since they're being marketed by xbox i love that they went all in and made their tagline "Power your big ass bird!" XD
now it's free😀😀
The world and combat are amazing. The voice acting, accents, story, and overall purpose of what the heck your character is doing, were terrible.
What's incredible about this game? It was made by ONE MAN ONLY
a very tired man!

Sadly it would be more incredible if it were consistently fun to play, but sadly the core gameplay is repetitive and uninspired.
@@tomkrawec have you tried the story. Thats 90% of the content and where all the variation is unlocked.

Falcons with frickin' laser beams
kind of reminds of the flying in skyward sword which I always thought was good but could have used combat so this sounds like my cup of tea

Ooooh looks so nice really!! The combat reminds me of that original xbox launch title firefight game.
Oh it was Crimson Skies!! Such good moments in that game, especially in local co-op.
That game was sooo underrated
I remember there was a cartoony dogfighting game a little while ago but can’t seem to find it, anyone know what it could be?
