7:29 - In the article for Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine in the Encyclo-speed-ia, a factoid titled "Everything is Canon" states that the beans made a surprise return in Sonic Mania. Is this more of a real world return, or is this stating that the game is actually canon? Can you tell us with confidence which games are non-canon? We already know of Sonic Chronicles, Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car, SegaSonic Cosmo Fighter, and all the mobile games, unless any of those have changed to now be canon.

12:45 - I am a huge fan of most of the robotic character archetypes in the Sonic franchise. However, my absolute favorite character in the whole setting is E-102 Gamma and his short story in SA1. My question for you is that, if you were given the reigns to alter Gamma's story and potentially continue it past SA1 in a similar vein as to how the Archie comics handled him, what would you do with him? Would you allow him to be involved in more stories and have more interactions with the cast of characters available at your disposal? R.I.P. Gamma.

38:20 - I more than anyone want to see comic book characters like Tangle in the main Sonic games but I think it wouldn’t be right for him to treat her like an old friend because a lot of Sonic fans don’t read the comics, and I know these are very accessible but only if you speak English, those of us who speak Spanish for example, only have the first two volumes translated into that language, in fact, many of the thousands of fans that Sonic has in places like Latin America don’t know that these comics even exist, much less they know the characters. My question is: How would you introduce Tangle or any of the other comic book characters into the games so that said fans aren’t confused to see a new friend of Sonic’s come out of nowhere?

In Free Riders they state that GUN was investigating there and they mainly work in the United Federation and there is Sonic Channel art of Knuckles riding the Station Square train to Metal City, the 2000s had a lot of cities in the United Federation so I was wondering if that was the case here
44:34 - I’ve been doing some research on Sonic Boom and according to BigRedButton’s/Sega’s announcement video & interview it’s not a separate/new canon or a replacement of the games’ canon/universe but a different branch of it so why do you insist it’s a separate canon?

54:20 - When digging through the files of Frontiers, some fans found some voice files of Sonic saying “Amy, I wish I made up my mind sooner” and “I wish we were sharing an umbrella, Amy”. There were no captions to go along with the voice files though. We were wondering if this is official dialogue that can be triggered during specific events as you explore the islands or if these lines were cut from the final product. Were they added as Easter eggs? And can you tell us more about the lines, please?

Revisiting this Bumblekast for Boom Sage
Amy's a really good example on the whole introducing comic characters thing, because she was literally them bringing in a comic character. In Japan fans would've known her from the manga already, but outside Japan we had no idea and just accepted her anyway. It was fine.
This is actually a misunderstanding. Amy wasn't a comic character. She just appeared in the comic before making a game debut. Ohshima said he made her during Sonic 1.
Amy as she appears and is written in the games is a very different person and character than the manga.
@@ChaddyFantome It doesn't make a difference, fans wouldn't have known that. From the perspective of the Japanese fanbase, she was a comic character being brought into the games. Same with Charmy.
@@SkullPirateMike Of course it makes a difference. Fan perception doesn't determine the developmental realities behind the conception of the characters and/or how the minutia or rules play out in regards to this doesn't track with your example.
Manga Amy and Game Amy arent the same character beyond design. Heck, Amy didnt even have her normal design early in the manga either. Same with Charmy.
As far as the games are concerned, Amy made her debut in CD itself and this is repeatedly what Sega and Sonic Team states regarding the character...because it's a fact since nothing about the character from any other media even factors into he character. This isn't the case with Tangle.
@@ChaddyFantome I was talking about how fans reacted. Amy was introduced in Sonic CD as a character Sonic already knew. In Japan fans already knew her from the comics. In the west we didn't. It didn't matter, we just accepted her as a new character Sonic already knew. They could introduce Tangle the exact same way - as a character Sonic already knows - and anyone who doesn't read the comics isn't gonna know the difference, the same way we didn't with Amy.
@@SkullPirateMike No she wasn't. You completely made that up. Amy is introduced in CD for the first time as a new character and the manual makes it out to be their first meeting.
The Amy in the game is not a transfer of the manga. It's a different character altogether. Tangle is not.
Couldn't Witchcart be used in Modern as the catalyst for more mundane supernatural threats? Since she's a witch, she could summon up various types of monsters and ghouls to pester Tails and co. You could also play her up as a Fegan type villain, maybe give her an expanded gang of misfits.
Without spoiling too much: You always talk about how you never do anything too drastic in the comics because things have to return to the status quo for the beginning of the next story. However Frontiers has shown us a new motivation for Eggman, and all of Sonic’s friends. Have these new developments changed the status quo? Or will SEGA walk these developments back?
My hunch is that SEGA is changing the overall dynamic of Sonic’s world so that the old paradigm doesn’t become stale.

Frontiers spoiler question: - - -- - Is the final boss on hard mode directly related to the greek giant khaos, and not necessarily chaos in sonic adventure 1, who has more than one interpretation in greek mythos, more than one of which I believe is presented in the game? Seemingly the chaotic mix of elements which existed in the primordial universe, combining it with the primal "Mud" of Orphic cosmogony and confused mass containing the elements of all things that were formed out of it are the depictions we actually fight but it is also described as the void of infinite space between heaven and earth which could mean everything sonic has fought up to this point has been the result of khaos (the giant created before time itself existed in Greek mythos), making the lines "I am infinte, I am nothing" make a whole lot more sense. If so, is it safe to assume the names of the starfall islands have some connection to the boss beyond what was presented in the story of frontiers and possibly greek or roman mythos as well?

Will Eggman still be an antagonist in future games despite gaining a daughter in Sage? P.S. How will Sage's relationship go with her 'brothers' Metal Sonic, Orbot and Cubot?

We can wait for the new game. We can't spoil future games or comics :) but my guess eventually Eggman will be back and bad. But it would be cool to see him good for a round or two.
Fun Fact there is a Pacific Rim 2 Prequel Webtoon that ran before the second movie was released that explained Amara's backstory that lead to her little Jaeger and everything and its actually really good

Dunno, the "long time no see" argument is not one I agree with. Even when Boom was new, I was quite annoyed Sticks was just...there, not even with a formal introduction. And I love Sticks, but I would have prefer to see Amy meeting her.
This reminds me a bit of the third Percy Jackson book, where Percy and Thalia are suddenly friends, because the author didn't felt like writing how Percy and Thalia became friends. Not a fan of it.
