Do you think we should all rock body armor?
After what happen yesterday. Hell yeah. I figured something was gunna happen closer to election but dang!
Better to have and not need than need and not have.
Haha I made this comment before even starting the vid. Great minds think alike.
Hell yes!!!
Absolutely we should have it bro. I don't know what's in the water, but crazy times are here.
I wear body armor in the event my exwife tries to come back 😅
Ahahah well worth the buy.
😳 lol 😂
Mine got everything but my life 😅.
She may want more lol.
😂
The part about the comms is very true, extra weight, non encrypted. Lots of other people include it and say it’s a must have, situation dictates your needs.
Now to go for an afternoon run in the Yuma heat before the game.
Yeah, I think a lot of people just do it because it takes good photos but open coms is never a good idea in a real scenario
Thank you again, Mike. I appreciate both of your UA-cam channels. I love my plate carrier, but I never thought about strapping it with water-until now. I appreciate the suggestion. We need to stay cool in this Arizona heat.
Water is key in AZ so if its on the carrier you will always have some.
I am armed security in Tucson. I am budget restricted. So I run steel level 3 plus plates. And amazon plate carry. The weight is really getting to me at the age of 50
That's would be my issue also, I had surgery on my spine( herniated disc), after the surgery my motor functions are at a 80 or 90% and I'm 41 now.
@@tacticalnewbe5745 Yeah the cost of good lighter plates in decimal places cheaper than the surgery.
Get the guard dog armor plates on primary arms & add shoulder cushions. Bullet safe sales pistol vest for 200 ish
Used to run some nice steel plates but went to lightweight combination plates (ceramic front uhmpe rear) only 3.5lbs per plate. They are so much better and my carrier loaded out is basically 20lbs lighter.
@@John_439 Weight is a real consideration and one most first time buyers of armor don't take seriously enough.
A heavy steel rig is OK if you only have to wear the stuff while you're, say, serving a warrant or some other limited time situation. They are no good to wear all day every day.
Hey! I, Too, AM from Arizona ( Tucson ( Pima County) ) . Having a Plate Carrier is imperative , with Tangos ( " Threats" ) everywhere, to include, having an extra ceramic plate on the inside pocket / pouch of an Assault Pack, as I Myself carry one to work 5 Days a Week. Oh, and by the way, this Pay Day Friday, I Myself need 1 or 2 Battle Bottles from " Iron Infidel" , because , My " Go Bag" already has a USGI ( United States Government Issue) Camelback . Thank You for the Iron Infidel Channel and Content, Brother.
Much Appreciated.. There are some hydration packs that will direct attach to the molle panels as well. good stuff.
@@IronInfidel Roger That, Solid Copy. Looking for 1 each , Woodland M81 BDU Camouflage Pattern, and, MultiCam Pattern Battle Bottles .
(STOP) "writing" ,like, this / (it's dumb).
I got 4 carriers, cause there are 3 adults in my house, and i got a lighter more expensive one incase were on foot, and i also dont wanna not be able to have one. And i can say for sure! He is right! Train in your carrier, its not as easy to move, they heavy,(cheap ones atleast) they restrict movement, and if its your first time using it you gonna struggle. Your gonna sweat. Your gonna ache. Your gonna need to know how it feels, and for the love of god, you need to know if its fot correct, if you havent run in it you dont know how its gonna work. Mine was tight to stand in. Once i ran it was bouncing cause it wasnt tight enough, same with belt and holster, test your kit. And know your system!!!
Training and use is always key to getting that gear, shaken out
@IronInfidel 100% and i feel like alot of people are buying stuff cause its cool but never trying it out, which leads to either failures or not knowing how to deploy it effectively or efficiently
I remember setting up carrier and test fitting it, loaded with mags in the placard, quickly realized the added weight on the front of my body added to the shift of strain on my lower back, especially when presenting a rifle. Realized working out to balance the weight shift is a necessity.
Yes, if you can afford it, but then you start down the step rabbit hole, of PC, armor, pouches, items to put in those pouches, medical, radio, helmet, light, NVG's, counterweight/battery, ears for helmet & comms. I'd say comms depending on situation. Maybe a cellphone will work/ maybe it won't. Ham radios are an option. You turn around and have spent 10-20K depending on quality of items obtained.
You are correct
This Arizona heat ain’t no joke. I have the large and smaller Iron Infidel water bottles….they are great.
Gotta Stay hydrated .. I was just in Cabo for a week and coming back to 111 sucked.
Thats odd of you to say. Its 77 degrees at 5 pm right now in Arizona
Mike, another great video. You always explain the rational behind your setup. As Pat Rogers used to say, I'm going to show you a way, not the way. Thanks.
Thank you very much for that
I deployed as a contractor 5 times following my time in service and kept all my gear. I've a cheap PC but level 4 plates, mags, CATs, and a cool Qore Preformance water container that fits right on the back.
I fine videos like this to be highly informative and I'm always looking st ways I can optimize and adjust my kit.
Thanks for sharing
@@IronInfidel I watch a lot of your content! I'm in AZ, and I'm often thinking about how I can optimize my gear better for the environment and what I could expect if I actually needed to use my kit
As always thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. Very useful video in these uncertain times. Keep up the good work! lmfao on the fly!
Much appreciative have a great day
Not that i dont enjoy a tactical considerations video Mike, where is Alex and the boys at?
I take alot of Mikes input as good enough input to make a educated decision on my larping items, Thank Mike
They are running the day today.Business.Ask me for help
I have mine and definitely will!!! Great video!!!!
Much appreciated.
Where did you get the od green pmags?
I've had those for years
@@IronInfidel a y idea if there are some still out there for sale. I would love some.
All of my armor is Premier Body Armor now...from my undershirts to my different carriers.
That is good stuff
I wear soft body armor, + minimalistic chest rig
Not a bad way to go
Bro you look like Fridays with Frank .nice vest
You think so?
I have 3 sets of armor and vests and I still can’t find something I’m comfortable with. I’d hoped I’d get to see some stuff at Brownells while at GunCon but for such a huge place the retail area was much more limited and smaller than I expected.
I don't know that they carry much armor do they
Good content
Much Appreciated.
I’m getting the battle bottle due to the kool aid man alone! 😂
Sometimes you just gotta have a little fun
Citizen* Civilian, sounds like we aren’t capable. Maybe some of us aren’t, but there are plenty that are, they simply just don’t know it yet, and will discover they are, soon enough. III%
There are many civilians out there that are much more capable than others who think they are
Body armor is absolutely amazing and a great insurance policy just in case
I agree
I prefer to have easy movement. 3 rifle mags, 3 pistol mags and a tourniquet. Everything else stays in a pack in my truck. I get a kick out of weekend warriors trying to play super soldier just for the posts😂
Not a bad way to go .
I am looking at getting some light soft armor to use when I am at an indoor range something that does not stick out like a sore thumb. I have not ordered plates for my chest rig yet.
Indoor ranges can be scary places
@@IronInfidel you got that right
What watch are you wearing? Thanks
Isobrite
if you don't use a bladder, where do you place something like a Nalgene and not interfere with movement or certain positions like prone?
Well, you can use a carabiner clip on the side
Have you tried the new smith and wesson shield carry comp
Not yet. They give us no love.
100% agree civvies should have any and all the armor they want. The same is true for weapons.
Side note, your PC looks exactly like what I’m wanting annd is about three sizes too small for yo big self. A liver with a 5.56 stick in it is an ouchie.
Well at 6'4 and 265 most plate carriers besides custom fit ones don't look right.
I didn't know there are lvl4 plates that are "light"
There are, and as has been the case with armor for centuries, you pay a significant premium for armor that is lighter within a given protection class.
They are not cheap but they are definitely lighter than a lot of others
ace Link plate still being made in China under great V certification
I think their helmets are made there
When the channel name change?, was wondering why I hadn't seen your videos in a long time.
He still has Tactical Considerations too.
I just help out over on this channel.Tactical considerations is still my main.Squeeze
Nice truck is that a titan?
Yes it was
Lvl 4 😮
Why not right
What happened to the other dude that was on this page?
Alex is super busy running the day to day business
I don’t care what they want lol I’m retired.😅
Thats sht boomers say
I'll be there soon too
Iron Infidel! Do carnivore! You will love it.
Like the diet
Totally. Try it for three weeks. You gave me so much through your videos. I want you to get something back. Try it, what do got to lose 😊 @IronInfidel
What happened to the other dude? lol
he runs the business end of things now full time.
I own some of your fitness stuff... didnt know you had a based youtube
Much appreciated thanks for coming by
I want one..awesome..
These ones are very solid
Why would you need body armour unless you're an American schoolkid?
This comment is stupid
@@IronInfidel Maybe, but backpack armor is a growing segment of the industry.
Dude.... what is it with you youtube gun guys and only having 3 mags on your kit? None of yall are tier 1 operators with a whole team behind you... there should be a minimum of 7 mags on your kit a MINIMUM!!! you think being comfortable and light will some how save you in a gun fight when in reality being aggressive fast and having superior firepower you cant have that with 3 mags dude that's not even enough to get you out of a fight. Your not him dude
You are aware almost everyone associated with this channel is former SOF right?
