You always end your videos with "it's been nice" and I always think...yes, yes it has. Seriously though, really like your reviews. They are really well done. I'm thinking of getting a new laptop and perhaps going down the ultrabook route. Your reviews have been really helpful.

I love MKBHD but honestly he is riding his much deserved wave now and hardly innovates. You are pure innovatión, the fish tank color graded, and then the toilet scene there for kicks...epic.

I really enjoy the fact that you keep only the most important and most desirable information in your videos. Other tech channels dive a bit too much into the technical features of devices and it kinda turns me off from watching their videos. Which is why I really appreciate the reviews you bring to youtube. Great work and keep it up!

Another fantastic review Dave. Said it before and I'll say it again your reviews are a perfect balance of understated, stylish and interesting. Especially love the graphics you use towards the end to wrap them up - such a nice little touch that gives them a consistency and it's a feature that I've not seen any other reviewer use.

Haha I'm impressed that you're forcing yourself to use Touchwiz, Dave. Most people wouldn't even give it a shot.
For me, the the thing I hated most about Touchwiz was the look of its icons and the god awful bright green and blue notifications and quick settings bar. Luckily the addition of themes in the last generation solved both of these issues. Even better, Marshmallow's default colors for the bar are now true blue and white, so people who aren't into customization don't get those bright colors by default.
For a lot of tech-savvy users, it was the lag that made Touchwiz unbearable, so I'm glad that's basically gone too.

  • @ALEJANDROMESIAS
    @ALEJANDROMESIAS 8 років тому

Nice video. Cool animation at the end... But you've got to know your stuff.
About the SD card: since Jellybean some apps can partially use SD card space, wich is known as "move to SD card". What Marshmallow introduces is adoption of the SD card as system memory, so that if you have a 16gb phone with a 32gb SD card, you then get 48gb of "internal storage", the OS will just use it, no need to "move" apps. The Moto G has adopted it in the last update.
The downside? You cannot just swap another SD anymore, wich I guess is why Samsung blocked that feature. That doesn't mean they got rid of the previous behavior.
Think of it as internal hard drives vs. external hard drives

It's not that the skin looks waterproof but it's the logic that if you really want use the water resistant s7 on water-related occasions, like taking videos in the pool, the phone has to run bare-boned, right? Screen protectors will peel off, cases will be soaked, even the dbrand skin won't work.

TLDR: No, you won't get used to touchwiz as a daily driver when you love the stock experience.
I was allowed to keep my company phone when i left after 5 years the other year, it was a Galaxy note edge.
The screen is amazing, and i actually liked the curvey thing; whilst gimmicky it was handy for deciding which incoming notifications i could ignore when consuming media. But touchwiz was in the way ; i decided to deal with it cause .. free phone.
In the end ? No . Just no, Touchwiz was more trouble than it's worth in many factors including 2 whole days of downtime after an OTA update nearly bricked it.
i just don't understand why flagship phones cannot have the option to choose a simple out of the box stock rom downloadable from their website. They have the drivers , it's a straight compile with little to test as everything's stock.
Just don't get it. I'd totally buy a Samsung for the hardware if i could get 100% stock working (including the camera, without going to 3rd party camera apps)

  • @joeyyu3244

i didnt like the last year's s6 edge cuz my finger would accidently touch the curved display so it was uncomfortable to hold it. How does the s7 edge feel while holding it. I feel comfortable asking you this because I also do a lot of media on my phone. Great video btw!!

Had mine for 4 days. I hate it, it's being returned. If I wanted a crapple product, I'd have bought one.
Can't be rooted, and has to be rooted to a least be able to ATTEMPT to get features back that I use the hell out of.
    1) Setting 'location services' to GPS only only lasts until you turn location services off/on again - then it goes back to using WiFi/GPS/bluetooth.
    2) Cannot use automagic premium to script GPS on/off when put into my wireless charging car cradle
    3) Cannot use file managers on the SD card worth anything. If the app didn't create the folder, it can't write to it. Rooting lets you run an app to fix this.
