There are so many tech reviewers who just churn out incoherent and just striaght-up weird content, but Dave gets to the point and he's just logical/tactical about how he explains his experiences in using tech. Love it.
@lasest2 WARNING: LONG, INFORMATIVE POST Wow that was a really intelligent and thought out argument vs the XR. Just a couple of points I'd like to clear up. 1) 720p display: Sure 720p is not crystal clear like a 1080p screen, but I can guarantee you that the display will be better than a cheaper 1080p display, in terms of color accuracy, sharpness, and viewing angles. Steve jobs himself did an explanation on why Apple's screen technology looks sharp and crisp even on lower resolution displays. The method used in creating the displays are still used today, hence the lower resolution displays. Lower resolution displays, need less power, meaning smaller batteries can go into the phone, which means slimmer phones. That is Apple's design methodology. Also, the XR has close to no chin which is hard for LCD phones to do. 2) Single back camera with shitty software: Ok that's a personal opinion. However, since we're on the topic of opinions many people don't feel that there's a huge difference in camera quality of the XR to the other top smartphone brands, so while that it is a valid complaint for you to have you might be a little biased there. 3) No headphone Jack: Again, valid complaint. However, demand of headphone jacks has gone down so expecting less phones to have headphones jacks is pretty reasonable. Not really a negative considering consumers who want a headphone jack are in the minority at this point. 4) 3gb ram: This is where knowledge of how hardware and software interact really comes into play. More RAM does not automatically mean better device. If I have 16gb of RAM on my computer but only use a total of 2 gb while doing what I need to do then extra RAM means a waste of money. Also on the software side of things, the operating system regulates RAM usage. Windows is a great example of this with how it can efficiently use 4 gb of ram so that way 4 gb machines are not obsolete in today's world. What this means for Apple is that they use a different method than Android OS for managing memory, thus reducing the need for more RAM. Android OS needs more RAM due to the "freeness" of the operating system. App developers get more freedom in what they can do, but unfortunately more freedom also means less optimization, leading to apps using more memory than they need which can take resources from something as simple as the UI. Apple restricts what apps can do more strictly, meaning that overall the phones need less RAM since they fit a certain optimization pattern (and that's just the start of why iPhones need less RAM). 5) Outdated lightning port: Again, personal preference. However, the reason why Apple keeps the lightning port is due to it being the thinnest method of charging for phones, meaning slimmer phones. 6) Bad Closed OS: Another personal preference. Most people don't feel the need to have complete control over their phone. Most use it for simple tasks that pretty much any smartphone can do at this point, so they don't feel a need to be able to access the phones files and etc. Also, as mentioned beforehand, the OS allows for better RAM usage which means better user experience and less "lag". 7) Tiny Battery: Ok iPhone batteries are smaller than the competitions. You're right about that. When it comes to user experience however, most iPhone batteries last a full day for most people. If you use your phone for media consumption or are using a very resource intensive app, yes you might find solace in going with a flagship android. However, a flagship android battery won't last that much longer when doing the same things. All phones are pretty much day batteries, including the iPhone. 8) Looks like a $100 budget smartphone: I hope the points previously mentioned above have shifted your view from thinking that. In fact, the processor within even the iPhone XR drastically outperforms that of the phones of the competition from the same generation, so I can safely say to you that the processor alone costs more than $100. I hope this helps you understand why there's a market for iPhones and that not everyone wants the same thing as you. At the end of the day, phones are just phones each with their own attractions and consumer base. There are people who still rock windows phones because that's what makes them happy, and as long as you enjoy your phone be glad that there's competition improving the quality of phones for everyone :) tl;dr: the iPhone XR is not an insult to consumer intelligence just because you don't like it. If you dislike the XR you should choose a phone that you like :)
I recently picked up an S10e, replacing an old, well-used S7 that had definitely seen better days... So much more improved features in a handset that except for the smaller screen (5.1) and larger chin and bezels, takes up exactly the same footprint as the S7 did! I'll more than likely use this one for as long, if not longer - 'til the wheels come off!
thanks for mentioning us left-handed people! I always think about that when people people mention tech buttons, if they still work well for the left hand.
Nobody in real life will handle their phone like a leaf. Other youtubers are more realistic. If a phone breaks with daily usage then thats the manufacturers fault for making it so prone to damage

Technically the pixel density is lower but it's still really high compared to things like laptops etc (ie my surface book 2 has 260 ppi but it looks fantastic). Also keep in mind if they went with a higher resolution the battery life would suffer.

"E" for Everyone ;) In my opinion S10E is the best one of the three models, due to not having that silly curved edged screen, which allows a full protection case all around the edges of the screen (not just half way up). When you crack your "edge", you'll see what I mean. :D Size if perfect too, hate those humongous sized ones, easier to access the full screen with one hand only, oh and it's a great bang for the buck.
Agreed. One reason I'm thinking to switch from my S8 to it. I hate the curved screen with the glare, mistyping and worry over cracking the screen. Took me 3 or 4 cases to find one that gave enough protection and 40 minutes to install a liquid shield screen protector.
@@thegardenofeatin5965 to me it doesn't seem to big at all. The body is only 5.5 inches long. I can easily hold the phone and type with my right hand. My hands might be a little bigger than normal.
My cousin got the S10e because I recommended it to her. She loved the upgrade after using the S6, especially since it suited her needs -- pocket sized, flat display, and easy for her to use one handed while she's holding her baby. I would have upgraded myself to this phone as well, but I instead got the S9+ for a deal, and the seller threw in the case for free. And to be honest, when upgrading my S9+ to One UI, I felt I was on par with my cousin's S10e. Different form factor, but same performance despite last year's specs. The only gimmick my phone does not have is reverse wireless charging, but not a huge loss.

Same thought. Even tho it's $150 lesser than S10 just like he said, it's still a lot of money. That's why I settled with my Pocophone F1 by Xiaomi. Flagship-like specs but affordable price. @@blueshanks1 at this point in time, the word "budget" is relative. When every major brands priced their flagship at around 1000 usd, anything cheaper is in a budget category.
@@makuaren06 the performance of that phone is great for the price, however, it cuts to many corner just to get that performance. I am a Filipino too and at first glance I kinda like it because of the sd845 the problem is the screen has a big chin and wide notch, the build quality is plastic. I mean the performance is amazing but for me what makes a phone great is when it hits all the basics not just a performance or what in short an all-around well-built phone.
@@imagoodvoi435 those things really depends on the user's preference I think. I prefer plastic instead of metal or glass because it's more likely to be less hotter because it conducts less heat and it's more shatter-proof than glass. Besides, I'll be covering it with a case all the time that's why I don't mind the plastic back at all. The only thing that bothers me when I first used Poco were the rough rounded corners. I think they're rounded a little bit too much than rounded corners should be. But after using it for more than a month, it doesn't bother me anymore. All in all, for the price I got my Poco, it's a steal deal for the specs it offers.
I don't understand the placement of the fingerprint sensor. The whole point of One UI is that everything is near the bottom of the phone, but then you go and put the finger print sensor right at the top?
When you use you’re phone (if you’re right handed) generally the thumb sits on the upper end of the phone. only a heathen would put their thumb close to the bottom right edge of the phone. Have some god damn sense.
@@XQzMEH My thumb wouldn't reach the sensor comfortably where it is placed. And obviously I'm not saying put it at the bottom of the phone, it should be central.

The cameras performance is the most important part of the phone to a majority of consumers, and Apple still blows any android phone out of the water when it comes to taking pictures of people.
The day that android finally catches up and does the same, is going to be the same day that everyone will switch over.

Wyd here warden?
I wouldnt eaven think about buying the xr
lasest2 dude im rocking an xr rn and i kid u not u wont even notice
@lasest2
WARNING: LONG, INFORMATIVE POST
Wow that was a really intelligent and thought out argument vs the XR.
There are people who still rock windows phones because that's what makes them happy, and as long as you enjoy your phone be glad that there's competition improving the quality of phones for everyone :)
tl;dr: the iPhone XR is not an insult to consumer intelligence just because you don't like it. If you dislike the XR you should choose a phone that you like :)

Size if perfect too, hate those humongous sized ones, easier to access the full screen with one hand only, oh and it's a great bang for the buck.
Agreed. One reason I'm thinking to switch from my S8 to it. I hate the curved screen with the glare, mistyping and worry over cracking the screen. Took me 3 or 4 cases to find one that gave enough protection and 40 minutes to install a liquid shield screen protector.
The 5.8 inch S10e is still too large. I'd go for one that's 5 inch or even 4 inch.
