Yes, so they have what is called a blue badge, which is offered multiple times a year. This changes you from seasonal to permanent in essence. And for overtime, I'm not sure. Depending on where you work, they may push you away from doing it and ask that you not stay after if youre getting to close to that 40 hour mark. I assume if they need the assistance they will allow for it.
I actually start at one this saturday. i worked at the FC a town over, then as a driver. hopefully this is more my fill since its also ltierally 5 mins from home.
I just applied for a seasonal warehouse associate position and my orientation is soon. What should I expect during the new hire orientation? Also I applied for position where I only work three days a week but they are each 12 hour shifts. Do you think this will be too much to handle? Thanks!
You should expect a drug test and to fill out some paperwork. Then once everything is cleared you’ll start your first day. I would say it depends on the person. You’ll probably spend a large amount of that time on your feet so be prepared. I’m not sure I’d want to work 12 hour shifts but that’s personal preference
How much did they pay you ? And how often did you get paid ? They build / constructed one a couple of streets down from my house and my friend said that he gets paid $15.75 and a “ differential “ of $1 more if you work on weekends but I don’t believe that its time and a half on Sunday’s like other jobs normally do Working at Targets fulfillment center is not ideal for anyone who’s wondering Were you seasonal ? I also wanted to note that you are such a sweetheart for posting / creating this video for us , thank you man 😁
15/hr and weekly paychecks. There is a small differential for weekends but not much. I was seasonal and no longer work there because of school. And of course! Hope it was helpful :)

Amazon needs to fix the stowing system it's design to over work you and leaves you two options and that's to get fired or quit. Sad part it's a easy job yet they make it harder that what it is
Now I know how complex this process is and how hard you guys work and customers have the nerve to call us and complain about how long they need to wait for the package on the delivery date 🙄
As me and my friends are former employees, they don't treat you with respect here, you are just a Number . And where we were there were covid rampant like crazy. Very unsafe.
I use to work for fresh position they were mad strict they were on ur butt! and I resigned for that but my building for sortation is very chill so before I started sortation ur video helped
The results usually return within 10 days I'd say. They come back with a statement about when your first day will be. Advice for the first day is to just go at your own pace, they won't push too hard on the first day and will likely show you around the place.
One thing Ive noticed after watching 100's of inside amazon videos is that I dont see very many people working inside these warehouses. Camera views across giant warehouses and rarely do I see a human.
I loved working at the sortation facility here, but I left due to my other job 2 years ago. I’m starting tomorrow at a fulfillment center and I’m a little anxious! 🤣 Hoping if all goes well I can transfer back to the sortation facility where I was before.
Shatavia Dallas I did! It was a really simple job. We would sort the packages for the flex driver’s routes. The facility itself was a lot smaller than the fulfillment centers. Only downside was it was part time, and the facility wasn’t weather controlled, so in the winters and summers it was one extreme or the other. They may have changed things by now. I work for a returns center now and it’s warm even though it’s winter. : )
How much physical activity you have to be? Im starting At amazon for seasonal sortation At night I starting to work 2am-10am. I am fairly skinny and people told me they lost weight from physical demanding it is. They said I probably wont last 1 week. I probably look half dead with no more social life. Is it really that bad? i start in five days.
2-10 is a long shift imo. I would say that you should evaluate the job for yourself. Nobody can tell you how it will be for you until you experience it. Physically demanding is somewhat of an overstatement, the job is active but if you pace yourself you’ll be fine. Standing on your feet for that period is a requirement though
Different tax brackets will change how much money is taken out as well as your living situation so it’s not necessarily comparable. But the base pay is $15 so multiply that by 22.5 and you’ll have your gross pay if you work the minimum hours
I have a start date as a seasonal part time sorter but I also got a job offer at hobby lobby shipping dock full time for 18/hr I’d be hand loading semi trailers all day. Should I stick with Amazon and try to get full time or work at hobby lobby
Amazon is difficult and very physical no matter what it’s like being at the gym for a hard workout all day. On top of that it’s boring and they won’t let you have even a single headphone wireless on. It would not make it unsafe to have one single wireless headphone in to make it less torturous.
I'm currently a seasonal Sort Center Associate. I'm in my late 50's and have a bad back. It's not that physical outside of all the walking, but I'm sore after each shift. I don't really need the money. It's just spending money. Confused if I should quit or not.
Got a hire event tomorrow. I'm a warehouse operations manager for a plumbing distributor for the entire East coast 8-5 so definitely hoping to snag some hours part time before my primary job. Is there an interviewing process?
I have some really important questions, do I really need a pc(personal computer) and an amazon computer account before starting? I start on the 29th of this month 3 days away from now so I'm a little confused on that
I work in the Amazon fresh picking and if u like walking a lot good fit but I am exhausted by the time i get home to stream I rather do another position lol so is sorter more easy to do then pick and pack
There's a ton of walking as a sorter, as you pull a package off the line, scan it, and put it on the right pallet. That pallet may be a walk from where you are standing. You'll be doing that constantly.
Same! Was at 190, had a job where I was always physical, it was a workout the whole time. Tried to eat better. Got down to 176, now back at 195 - 200 lbs 😭😭🥵
My warehouse did not regulate hours too much, we worked until we were finished. I would double check with management but 9/10 times they would be more than happy to have extra help. There are no full-time positions though until you move up
Meh you can get a maximum of 30hrs in a sort center. Only if they offer VET. I’m scheduled to work 20hrs a week but I pick up 2 VETs (5hr shifts) every week. ;) good luck
Air Jordan you’d be best going to the FCs to get more hours, but note that could mean mandatory overtime at times unless you get school accommodation. Some FCs do have something called Reduced Time where you work 3 12 hour shifts and you’re paid around $2 more than the base pay.
I’m thinking about becoming a over night package sorter. Anyone have anything to tell me that I should know? Tips, tricks, recommendations? Let me know!
I just got hired for sortation , I picked this job up for Christmas money. I will be working four days a week four hour shifts. Is there an option after the holidays to cut down hours, say if I only wanted to do 4-8 hours a week?
I no longer work for amazon as it was a seasonal position during my summer home from college. I worked in a sortation center (distribution). Positions are all part-time which are four hour shifts five days a week
@@turbochargedsnacks I'm in the same situation just my college classes don't finish for 3 weeks more. So do they give you some flexibility with the start date?
That’s a question I couldn’t quite answer. The job does require a fair bit of mobility but as always it’s always worth a shot. Good Luck and I wish you the best!
Probably not, but it's a good question. I haven't been there long, but I don't see how you would be able to easily get around the crowded pallet building area where packages are being sorted to the right pallet.
Depends a lot on how many days a week, if you take extra shifts, etc. More detail would be better. To calculate simply multiply the hours x the wage (8x16.25) and then multiply by days per week (4? 5?) then multiply by 4 (4weeks per month) and you'll have your untaxed income. Figuring out tax is trickier, depending on your total income it varies
First day of the job is easy, they give you a tour of the warehouse and then show you each job individually. They’ll then try to rotate you through each so you can get a feel for them. Good luck and don’t stress, it’s easy and straightforward
@Bob I guess in different areas not as many people are on the job. The unloaders and induct were a set of about 14-20 people who didn't rotate. We all worked with management to place us there for the most part.
None the job is reserved for you until you pass your background check and drug test...my first day is this Saturday...you literally spend more time waiting around on your appointment day
They ask for your ID, license (if you have one), Social Security, passport (if you came from any other country), take a picture for your Amazon ID, drug test, and background check.
Technically when you go in for an interview they only take your picture for your badge, scan your documents, oral drug test (here in Ohio at least). Then you're out the door, until your start date or orientation. Most of the work before you start is all the online quizzes and videos 😌
I'm actually thinking about working a second job, either Amazon or UPS. But I keep reading all kinds of negative comments about working at Amazon, like the supervisors are assholes, the guards are on a power trip so they're also assholes. I hope its just comments by former employees that were fired or they quit
I work at an amazon sortation center they are very different from fulfillment centers I’ve heard sooooo many horror stories about amazon. I was super confused like at the one I work at it’s pretty chill most not all sortation centers are part time so a full shift is only 4 hours long unless we flex up. All our bathrooms work fine. They aren’t down our backs I’m actually applying for a blue badge conversion right now.
The hire event is very simple. Once you’ve filled out all the online documents, you go to the event. They provide a packet which they’ll have you fill out while you listen to a presentation. Then you take a drug test via mouth swab. That’s it! You normally get a response within a week or so
Because it's a mindless job with a very high turnover rate and they need bodies. As long as you pass the background check and drug test they are willing to give you a job. If you don't work out or quit, you can be easily replaced.
I will still never understand how Amazon got so big the way it did, everything I've ever looked at on their site seems overpriced and I've yet to buy anything from them...
I will say this is the most boring job ever especially if you're filling bags. I'd rather unload trucks but at our building those were the top guys. Had to work up to be an unloader

They build / constructed one a couple of streets down from my house and my friend said that he gets paid $15.75 and a “ differential “ of $1 more if you work on weekends but
I don’t believe that its time and a half on Sunday’s like other jobs normally do
Working at Targets fulfillment center is not ideal for anyone who’s wondering
Were you seasonal ?
I also wanted to note that you are such a sweetheart for posting / creating this video for us , thank you man 😁
15/hr and weekly paychecks. There is a small differential for weekends but not much. I was seasonal and no longer work there because of school. And of course! Hope it was helpful :)
Matthew Cousins hi how many months is the seasonal job if i may ask
I’ve only been there two days and I’m good at scanning and building a pallet but I’m really confused with transporting pallets all over the warehouse with the pallet jack. Will I have to do that in the future or can I stay in picking and sorting?
Yeah you can just let them know that and theyll take you off the transport roster
I been working in sortation 4 days and omg I get lost and never know the names of the working stations are
Beings as I drive a standard.. seeing you get in a standard just made me so happy 🤣🗣
The comment section got me a bit nervous. I just moved to Seattle and start my first day tomorrow morning
How did it go
@@elaminmochichi7767 im fine with it i enjoy it tbh the over time and i talk with a lot of people. the warehouse is fine some exercise but its ok to me
Is the job fairly straightforward? Moreover, is it fairly fast paced?
Yes to both of those. Very simple job accomplished as fast as possible
@@turbochargedsnacks Thank you.
I went to the new hire event Tuesday & they took our 2 forms of ID & our photo for our badges. They didn't drug test us.
Same with me
same with me. weird
Same lmao must be because of the virus they don’t want more bacteria from our mouths or urine, also they must be hiring anyone because all this bs going around the world
@@aguirretrucking9334 makes sense. I didn't think about that.🤦♀️
Virginia Remedi yeah everyone is all freaked out, I just need to start working again 🤦🏽♂️ tired of staying home all day and some extra cash won’t hurt
Hey Matthew Cousins. How long does it that to get a hear back from the drug results? Also any advice for my first day working.
The results usually return within 10 days I'd say. They come back with a statement about when your first day will be. Advice for the first day is to just go at your own pace, they won't push too hard on the first day and will likely show you around the place.
@@turbochargedsnacks thank you
One thing Ive noticed after watching 100's of inside amazon videos is that I dont see very many people working inside these warehouses. Camera views across giant warehouses and rarely do I see a human.
😂
I loved working at the sortation facility here, but I left due to my other job 2 years ago. I’m starting tomorrow at a fulfillment center and I’m a little anxious! 🤣 Hoping if all goes well I can transfer back to the sortation facility where I was before.
good luck!!!
Matthew Cousins Thank you!! It went awesome. Found out what department I’ll be in at the orientation. I’m really excited!!
xDiamondAsh did you like the sortation facility?
Shatavia Dallas I did! It was a really simple job. We would sort the packages for the flex driver’s routes. The facility itself was a lot smaller than the fulfillment centers. Only downside was it was part time, and the facility wasn’t weather controlled, so in the winters and summers it was one extreme or the other. They may have changed things by now. I work for a returns center now and it’s warm even though it’s winter. : )
I start soon but what are some positions where you lift things.... tryna get sum gains while I work.
I also selected that shift and quit after the first day. Cancel that shift and look for shorter shifts.
Is nobody going to mention how thick he is👀
F**
Lol
Lol because I was sure as hell looking like DAMN WHITE BOY and he's cute
LMFAAAAAAO thhhhhhhiccck 😂😁
I start in 2 weeks so around how much did you make every week with the 6:30 - 11:00 schedule because I have the same schedule?
Different tax brackets will change how much money is taken out as well as your living situation so it’s not necessarily comparable. But the base pay is $15 so multiply that by 22.5 and you’ll have your gross pay if you work the minimum hours
I have a start date as a seasonal part time sorter but I also got a job offer at hobby lobby shipping dock full time for 18/hr I’d be hand loading semi trailers all day. Should I stick with Amazon and try to get full time or work at hobby lobby
I would say Amazon has better opportunities and is bigger and more structured than hobby lobby.
@@eaulet2988 so my schedule I just received from Amazon is all overnight. Is there a way I can request to change it ??
Amazon is difficult and very physical no matter what it’s like being at the gym for a hard workout all day. On top of that it’s boring and they won’t let you have even a single headphone wireless on. It would not make it unsafe to have one single wireless headphone in to make it less torturous.
How physical is it? Is it more that the packages are heavy or that you have to stand on your feet for a very long time? Or both?
I'm currently a seasonal Sort Center Associate. I'm in my late 50's and have a bad back. It's not that physical outside of all the walking, but I'm sore after each shift. I don't really need the money. It's just spending money. Confused if I should quit or not.
Got a hire event tomorrow. I'm a warehouse operations manager for a plumbing distributor for the entire East coast 8-5 so definitely hoping to snag some hours part time before my primary job. Is there an interviewing process?
Did you get gunned in at Amazon? I'm sure it isn't from door dash unless you're hitting the gym when you're off?
I have some really important questions, do I really need a pc(personal computer) and an amazon computer account before starting? I start on the 29th of this month 3 days away from now so I'm a little confused on that
I was gonna work at the sortation center. And the person I worked with said I shouldn’t go. But yet they ended up going 😂
You must be doing sortation at a fulfilment center, because this is nothing like a sortation center lol.
Are you a blue badge? I’ve worked at my sortation for almost 5 months and just got converted.
I am not, I'm actually back to school. But I know that it normally only happens a few times over the year.
What do you do for leg day!? Your legs look amazing 😉👌
stop looking at his legs
@@amaxlite 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I work in the Amazon fresh picking and if u like walking a lot good fit but I am exhausted by the time i get home to stream I rather do another position lol so is sorter more easy to do then pick and pack
There's a ton of walking as a sorter, as you pull a package off the line, scan it, and put it on the right pallet. That pallet may be a walk from where you are standing. You'll be doing that constantly.
Thanks for sharing! Useful information
You're very welcome, I'm glad it was helpful!
Lmao honestly ima work here cause I need to lose weight cause of all the pounds i gained over quarantine
Facts😂😂
I start soon and that’s the one thing I’m looking forward to haha. Gained like 25lbs since the start 😩
Same! Was at 190, had a job where I was always physical, it was a workout the whole time. Tried to eat better. Got down to 176, now back at 195 - 200 lbs 😭😭🥵
Can you work more hours there bro?? or is it a permanent part time??
Things I would hate?
So helpful! Thank you 😭🙏🏻
How was it working at Amazon?
I just got hired for sortation , I picked this job up for Christmas money. I will be working four days a week four hour shifts. Is there an option after the holidays to cut down hours, say if I only wanted to do 4-8 hours a week?
Sorry shannon by why even apply anywhere if you only gonna be working literally one full shift a week.
If you get hired with a seasonal position, what are the chances of being able to get to a fulltime position?
I no longer work for amazon as it was a seasonal position during my summer home from college. I worked in a sortation center (distribution). Positions are all part-time which are four hour shifts five days a week
@@turbochargedsnacks I'm in the same situation just my college classes don't finish for 3 weeks more. So do they give you some flexibility with the start date?
I start next at sortation center in Riverside California night shift F/T.
I have a question for a current amazon employee. Can you work as a amazon employee and work for a partnered driver with amazon????
No, you can't.
Matthew cousins can someone work as sortation associate in wheelchair? Can move arms and upper body but cant stand
That’s a question I couldn’t quite answer. The job does require a fair bit of mobility but as always it’s always worth a shot. Good Luck and I wish you the best!
I know this is late but there was someone in a wheelchair at the sort center I worked at, he just diverted packages
Probably not, but it's a good question. I haven't been there long, but I don't see how you would be able to easily get around the crowded pallet building area where packages are being sorted to the right pallet.
Do you make your own schedule, time/day?
I think flexible scheduling allows that or they have predetermined time slots to choose from.
I have 8 hours 16.25 , how much would I be making a month ?
Depends a lot on how many days a week, if you take extra shifts, etc. More detail would be better. To calculate simply multiply the hours x the wage (8x16.25) and then multiply by days per week (4? 5?) then multiply by 4 (4weeks per month) and you'll have your untaxed income. Figuring out tax is trickier, depending on your total income it varies
Know what it is like working as a prime now associate?
I do not, I’ve only worked inside a distribution center
I got a video interview tomorrow. Let's see how that goes.
How did it go? I want to apply
Amazon Employees Need To Unionize
What was the first day of the job like how do they train you I start Tuesday
First day of the job is easy, they give you a tour of the warehouse and then show you each job individually. They’ll then try to rotate you through each so you can get a feel for them. Good luck and don’t stress, it’s easy and straightforward
Is there a lot of HEAVY HEAVY lifting?
Great question! No boxes in distribution centers exceed 50 pounds.
@Bob True but always someone to help you if you struggle with that
@Bob I guess in different areas not as many people are on the job. The unloaders and induct were a set of about 14-20 people who didn't rotate. We all worked with management to place us there for the most part.
Can you listen to music while you work?
Amazon does not allow you to listen to music on the floor
Can you wear a cap/hat on the job?
what are you going to collage for?
Just graduated with business admin and finance
@@turbochargedsnacks Congratulations 👏 🙌
This is the role I’ve applied for what questions do they ask for the interview???
None the job is reserved for you until you pass your background check and drug test...my first day is this Saturday...you literally spend more time waiting around on your appointment day
They ask for your ID, license (if you have one), Social Security, passport (if you came from any other country), take a picture for your Amazon ID, drug test, and background check.
@@lusciouzzgemiinii698 what was included on your appointment day?
Technically when you go in for an interview they only take your picture for your badge, scan your documents, oral drug test (here in Ohio at least). Then you're out the door, until your start date or orientation. Most of the work before you start is all the online quizzes and videos 😌
@@LadyMisfit__ They had us practice using a pallet jack and go cart, and how to build a pallet at mine. Also the videos and quizzes, though.
What’s the difference between the sortation center and the mega warehouse?
I would assume the mega warehouses are fulfillment ctrs where product is packaged. Sortation is where boxes are set for distribution
Matthew Cousins so I’m guessing sortation is easier?
I think the only pro about jobs at Amazon are the pay rates I may think about a position with them simply for that
4 hours a day? Is that Part time? How many hours a week 20?
Yes its part time at 4.5 hours a day for 22.5 a week
I'm supposed to start Friday, I was curious
How is it going?
Everything's good
Thanks for sharing
So Sortational associate means I'm going to be a Shorter??
You’re so handsome! 😍😍😍
That's a delivery station a bunch of hell
How was it going into your work hiring event??
The hire event is very simple. Once you’ve filled out all the online documents, you go to the event. They provide a packet which they’ll have you fill out while you listen to a presentation. Then you take a drug test via mouth swab. That’s it! You normally get a response within a week or so
And how was your training days? Like is someone there with you while you work or do you follow someone around??
@@kaytlind2613 Its a little bit of both, once they show you each thing they'll put you with another employee who can also show you the ropes!
Can I take my mobile inside of the sortation center??
Keep it in your pocket with the ringer off.
Out of topic but you got cakes boi 😂
Do you lift a lot of heavy heavy items ? As a sorter
At my location we don’t lift more than 49 lbs.
@jonny_laguna thanks for replying 2 years later
How much do you lift on your legs bro?!?
I wonder why they hire without interview
IT's a brainless job from what I hear. So Interview for what?
Probably because their turn around rate is so high and they just need bodies
Because it's a mindless job with a very high turnover rate and they need bodies. As long as you pass the background check and drug test they are willing to give you a job. If you don't work out or quit, you can be easily replaced.
What can and can’t bring inside Amazon?
