This is what I use. What is your go to gear?
7wt Echo Streamer X, lamson liquid reel, scientific anglers sonar titan sink tip line, maxima ultra green leader and tippet
7wt TFO LK Legacy, Sage Spectrum C reel, Airflo power taper and either hand tied mono leader or a Rio versileader.
Alvin I can’t thank you enough for all of your videos. I have made it a point this summer to catch bass on the fly, more specifically on a Dedeaux popper and I made it happen. Here in Reno, NV a good bass pond/river is hard to come by, but I made it happen. Thank you. P.S. I am trying to convince the wife to take a vacation to Texas so I can try to use you as guide.
Very cool! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Love me some bankshot line
Just ordered the Gerber line cutter thanks
You will like it it's beefy.
Thanks Alvin!!! Good to know stuff. As a bass angler turned fly fishing angler I need all the info I can get!
Glad to help!
Thanks...good info
Glad it was helpful!
Another great video, Alvin. Thanks for the excellent information.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for this!!
Thanks for watching!
Great videos! They really help alot! You were saying the line you use,you make short to medium cast, how long you talking feet wise?
30 feet or so.
Yes thank you!!!
Any time!
Stuck inside on a much needed rainy day, but fishing content certainly helps.
I’ve heard that some folks will put 6wt line on 5wt rods, or over-line. I’d that something you’ve had success with in past?
Yeah if you are making mostly short casts with a stiff rod.
Apparently you need a hemostat or forceps sponsor.
Ha ha, I had them in another video a couple of weeks ago. ua-cam.com/video/EqHKXMSLmYw/v-deo.html
Appreciate all your great content! Do you use the six weight with the floating bank shot line to fish your number five favorite fly, the gulley craw? How do you adjust your rig for heavier flies in deeper water?
I do use the 6 weight in shallower water with the crawfish, but it is tough to cast. Definitely easier on the 7 weight with a sink tip for the deep holes.
Bro you need those Abel nippers that you have to take out a loan to buy! You are not a good fly fisherman without them. 🤣🤪
You got that right😭😂
Have you ever used regular breaded for a leader
Liked you input, but what about glasses? Need to upgrade my sunglass/prescription
I have used Costas for a while, just got a couple of pairs of Bajios. They both have prescription options.
Good stuff man. Quick question. So if you could only take one rod bass fishing, would it be a six weight?
Yes for me most of the time when fishing with a floating line. In the winter when we throw sinking lines I would take a 7 weight.
what do you use when you need to get your line down? Do you use a sinking line, sink tip line, or a sinking leader?
i use sink tip 6 inches per second sink and 3 feet of floro and weighted fly
Most of the time I use a sink tip. I have a couple of different ones. Sometimes a sinking leader if I don't have to get too deep.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing Thanks for taking the time to reply. I mostly fish trout in Colorado, but trying to expand my fly fishing.
AWG flatbills still coming?
Yes sir, just waiting on a few things to show up.
Do you use barbs for bass fishing I'm new to the sport
I usually smash the barbs.
Oh ok
