    Alvin I can’t thank you enough for all of your videos. I have made it a point this summer to catch bass on the fly, more specifically on a Dedeaux popper and I made it happen. Here in Reno, NV a good bass pond/river is hard to come by, but I made it happen. Thank you. P.S. I am trying to convince the wife to take a vacation to Texas so I can try to use you as guide.

    Stuck inside on a much needed rainy day, but fishing content certainly helps.
    I’ve heard that some folks will put 6wt line on 5wt rods, or over-line. I’d that something you’ve had success with in past?

    Apparently you need a hemostat or forceps sponsor.

    Appreciate all your great content! Do you use the six weight with the floating bank shot line to fish your number five favorite fly, the gulley craw? How do you adjust your rig for heavier flies in deeper water?

    • @AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing
      @AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing  Рік тому

      I do use the 6 weight in shallower water with the crawfish, but it is tough to cast. Definitely easier on the 7 weight with a sink tip for the deep holes.

    Bro you need those Abel nippers that you have to take out a loan to buy! You are not a good fly fisherman without them. 🤣🤪

      I have used Costas for a while, just got a couple of pairs of Bajios. They both have prescription options.

    Good stuff man. Quick question. So if you could only take one rod bass fishing, would it be a six weight?

    • @AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing
      @AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing  Рік тому

      Yes for me most of the time when fishing with a floating line. In the winter when we throw sinking lines I would take a 7 weight.

  • @DarkIronManny
    @DarkIronManny Рік тому +3

    what do you use when you need to get your line down? Do you use a sinking line, sink tip line, or a sinking leader?

    • @TheTruth-ge7fj
      @TheTruth-ge7fj Рік тому +2

      i use sink tip 6 inches per second sink and 3 feet of floro and weighted fly

    • @AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing
      @AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing  Рік тому +1

      Most of the time I use a sink tip. I have a couple of different ones. Sometimes a sinking leader if I don't have to get too deep.
