This is just a different way to quilt. I like new and different techniques. Love it. I will have to look for this type of fabric or you could probably quilt each part the traditional way and then add them together using this technique. Cool
Ha! Did anyone else notice the "stripper music" while Cindy was sewing? Perhaps a little humor for this demo while the ladies put together the strips of fabric, huh? I giggled when I caught the connection. This already quilted fabric is a great idea for a quick baby quilt; I can also see using it for other Quilt As You Go projects, connecting larger sections or Super-blocks (4+ blocks already put together) so I can still manage a large quilt on my home sewing machine vs. paying big $ for a long-arm quilter's services. Thanks!
going to your word program on your computer and go to your fonts and you can print your letters up to 3 or 400% you just have to type it in choose an outline and a font style and cut out your letters easy peasy then Trace letters on the heat and bond Lite or whatever you like to use cut iron them on to your desired fabric cut them out leaving at least a quarter inch around your Trace lines position them on the backside of your desired fabric iron them in place and now cut them out on your tray slime feel the paper off when cool and place them on the desired position on your quilt iron them in place and use your desired Stitch to finish the edges of your letters
This is ok if you wanna be so quick but seems to me they are taking the fun out of creating your own quilt from scratch with all the different steps which make it all so enjoyable. But for almost instant results I like it.
I watched this wonderful video and am left wondering where to find the letter templates for the initials. I have been to the website and cannot seem to locate them. Can you assist please? Thanks so much....
Does anybody know where I can find double-faced quilted fabric in similar designs? I like this project, but all the fabrics I find are frankly kind of ugly. Doesn't look like Riley Blake offers these any longer.
when you're sewing the back strip on to the two pieces in the final step how close do you Stitch to the Fabrics I realize when you open them up the fabric have to lay flat but you don't see how close to stitch
Will you send me your website please I’d like to order some of that material and what else y’all might have I just don’t know how to download the websites thank you
+michelle gagne You cannot download youtube videos without a separate application (program). But there are several free apps available to download you tube videos. Many browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc) also have apps for youtube video downloading on their websites. If your browser website does not have one, Google "youtube download apps" then go to a reputable site and download the application. Hope that helps.
You didn't show how or when to do the quilting and before that putting the batting with. I want to learn, I am a newbie, so its important to see all aspects of making this quilt.
I am also newbie and would have been great if you listed the size of each fabric cut ... and it is not easy to hear all the instructions with two people talking.
Hi Merlene, We are sorry this tutorial was not helpful to you. Let us know if you have any question we can try to answer. This is a little different because it's using pre-quilted fabrics.
Would be better if only one person spoke trying to follow what is being said is confusing. Bonnie knows what to do so let your guest do all the talking.
somehow I don't think you're showing enough steps or giving enough information when folding the top passing over I would think you would want to press that so it's nice and flat to just take it and so it I don't think you would get to finish that you would like
Is there batting between the fabrics ... this tutorial is hard to follow. Could the instructions be posted. I am self teaching my self by watching these Tutorials. Thank you and I hope to receive a reply back. 11/02/17
Hi Anne, This tutorial is about how to use double-sided pre-quilted fabrics. The batting is already sandwiched between the two pieces of fabric. That makes your project go very quickly. If you are looking for tutorials that help you learn how to quilt, be have a quilting basics series with Deonn Stott with several video to take you through step by step.

What needle did you use in the machine please? I love this idea, can you get quilted cotton in the UK?

+arriesone That's what I thought. Choosing my fabric, pattern, etc is part of the fun in my opinion. But, I might try it for a quick baby quilt.
I was wondering what size needle in your sewing machine ?? I really like your ideas !!

How do I order it
What is the finished size of the quilt, please? It looks more like a baby size than a lap quilt size, to my eyes.
It's approximately 39" x 43" -- can be made to any size just by changing the widths of the strips.

DLR ...This fabric is already quilted when you buy it
thank you
